The hotel Piemonte is located near Termini, Rome's central railway station, in an area which over recent years has been upgraded and is now the location of ministries, offices, embassies and university buildings.
The area, about a kilometre from Campidoglio, the centre of the city, is well connected by bus and subway to all the places of tourist, cultural and commercial interest.
The hotel was first opened as a small guest house or pensione in 1945, at the end of World War II, by a Piedmontese family who managed it for 35 years. In 1980 the management was taken over by another family who, over the years, transformed it into a charming hotel, yet always maintaining the characteristics of a family-run business in the care of its guests.
During the last remodelling, carried out in 1999, the management further renovated the hotel, equipping it with all the modern comforts to make guests' stay more enjoyable.

The reception persons, all but one, were extremely kind and helpful at all times. Good location, quieter than central Rome locations, several good eateries near by, easy access to most of Rome's important attractions. My husband and I will definitely stay there on our next Rome visit.

Hotel prices in Rome are outrageously high, and the price for Piemonte seemed so reasonable that I was afraid of what I was getting for my money. So I was very pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel for the price.Sure the rooms are small, but very comfy and very clean. No carpets, nice hard wood floors and a very modern bathroom. The location is great,a few minutes from the train station where you can take the metro to anywhere in the city.I would highly recommend this hotel.

We had a beautiful room here. It was very spacious. We did have a problem with the air conditioning not working and the staff could not fix it. We had to leave the window open which was very noisy so we didn't sleep very well. At first the staff said they would provide a credit but then refused to do so.

The staff were friendly and helpful. Internet access, which was specifically excluded from our room rate, was thrown in free - as was colour printing. The area is very handy for buses to airports, and of course for the Stazione Termini. Despite the poor reputation that the Termini area has, we felt safe and enjoyed our stay.

Hotel staff was efficient but not overly friendly. Rooms were on the small side but clean. Our stay was one night and hotel was a short walk to the train station. Restaurants in the area are good. Quite neighborhood. Stay overall was adequate.
Norway, Jul 2009
Very close to the railway station and metro. Hotel staff recommended restaurant - close to the hotel and very good food. Quiet room - couldn't hear anything from the outside or the hallway, but the walls between the rooms were thin. Very hard mattresses in the beds - they ought to do something about it.

The location is great. However, during our stay in the hotel there're some issues I would like to point out. First, the air-con in the room is not cold enough (providing that the temperature outside is over 3x degree celsius). We've contacted the employee for the problem. However, the air-con is still not function well. Second, the fridge isn't function well. The water keep leaking from the fridge and made the floor watery during our stay.

This Hotel is near the Station Termini and for a family with babies that arrive by train. In the Station near Platform 29 is easy to find tourist office for the informations. So is easy to organize your visit.

This is a very nice and friendly little hotel, in a very good location (exactly as advertised). A little noisy at times (they had some repairs going on when we stayed the first time) but all in all I would certainly recommend it to anyone and gladly come back any time.

Two days in Rome ..standard room ..130Euros had a problem getting to the hotel...came in by train but your instructions didn't specify that the Hotel street (Vicenza) was one way going to the station...we had trouble finding out where the street was and finally took a taxi who had to go around a bit to get us to the hotel..charged 28 euros ie HIGHWAY ROBBERY! Summary ..hotel fine ..getting there a nightmare ..you need to be more explicit with directions BT

This was our first stay at the Hotel Piemonte. The hotel was nice enough to stay at during an overnight trip however I would not recommend anything longer. Although there was a mini-bar we didn't have any glasses in the room to use at all. The only soap bar provided in the washroom was the size of a thumbnail. We had to call for more TP as they had only left a half-used roll. Breakfast was basic but fine. Our room was located in a different building around the corner from the main hotel. On a positive note the hotel is very close to the train station making travel so much easier.

We were sent to our room while the room attendant was still working in the room (we arrived just after noon). If we were told that the room was not ready beforehand, we would have understood and accepted. No real apology offered. Were told to leave our bags and go for lunch somewhere. No courtesy offer of a cold beverage, like we would do in most SA hotels, if something like this occurred. Breakfast is not a great offering. Stayed there for 4 days, and almost every morning, we, or other clients in a full breakfast room, would have to ask the ONE attendant, who was usually busy cleaning & drying dishes, to refill the breakfast platters & containers. Receptionists (all male) were very abrupt in their dealings with us. My expectations were not met, never mind exceeded.

Good day, we did like our stay at this hotel its near termini station, the room was big anough for two adults, but the batroom was small and the shower to small(an heavy person 250pounds and more cannot enter into the shower)also in that room we could hear the person talking or laughing next room or in the corridor, we stay at Piemote 3 nights and we find it expensive, but we did like visiting Rome.
Turkey, Jun 2008
The location was good. It is only 300m far from the Roma termini station. The hotel was quiete and safety. The breakfast may be better and also the staff may wash the dishes after the breakfast time, because it was not good for us to have breakfast with that noise. I advice this hotel to the people who come for travel purposes, since it is located in a central area.

This hotel is perfectly located ,a couple of hundred yards from Termini . We comfortably dragged our large bags along a flat path to the hotel in a few minutes. Management gave us plenty of advice on how to get around Rome and more importantly get to the airport. They printed out a copy of the Leonardo Express timetable from the net to help us plan our departure. The room was exactly as per the home page and the lift was a welcome surprise. Breakfast was first rate . We will stay at the Piemont next time we visit Rome

I was satisfied with my stay at hotel Piemonte. This is a perfect location for tourism and business: next to the main train station, underground, and most of the busses. I have chosen this hotel because of the good ratings and good reviews. They are generally right. The hotel was nice and the staff very friendly and helpful. The rooms are nice, clean, and big. I have met just 2 small inconvenients: The breakfast is a little bit poor for a 3-stars hotel (i.e. correct breakfast, but not very diverse). My room was very noisy because of the traffic. I could barely sleep after 6AM. But overall, my stay was OK and I would return at this hotel again (and maybe ask for a diffent room orientation :) ).

Our stay at Hotel Piemonte was overall a great stay. Most of the front desk staff were very friendly and all were helpful. On our last night, the front desk worker gave us the times for train departures to the airport without us even asking. The breakfast was great (meats, cheese, bread, yogurt, fruit, pastries, coffee, tea). Our room did smell, but we discovered the smell was coming from the shower drain. The room was small, but typical of Europe. Our room was next to the street, which had traffic during the daytime but quieted down at night. The area surrounding the hotel had restaurants, cafes, grocery store, etc. The area surrounding was decent and a short walk to Termini.

My husband and I stayed at Hotel Piemonte for 3 nights just before we flew home. The hotel is ideally situated near the train station so we were able to walk with our luggage. Our room was not actually in the hotel but in an apartment complex just around the corner from the reception. This building is currently being renovated but once we arrived at "Piemonte Residence" we were pleasantly surprised. Our room was large enough to fit another queen bed in. The bathroom was large, clean and modern. We certainly felt very comfortable in our room. We caught a bus into the centre which took about 10 mins. This would have had to be the only downfall with our stay. We loved every minute of it and would return to Hotel Piemonte.

This hotel was fine for our needs, although the bathroom was difficult to move around in. We did have to ask for another room when we first arrived because we were initially put in an annex building around the corner. We would have to go outside every time we wanted to approach the reception area or have breakfast. As this annex was under construction, there was plaster dust in the entry way, elevator and hallways. Also the front door was wide open and just didn't feel safe. The room in this annex was very nice (new). The reception clerk was very nice and found us a room in the building. The hotel is very close to the train station, metro and bus routes. There are several embassies on neighboring streets as well as many cafes. Overall - a good value.

We were only here for one night - catching a flight out of Italy after two weeks visiting Pompeii and Florence. The hotel was close enough to the station to walk (long queue for taxis when we arrived) and easy to find but far enough away from the petty crime that surrounds large stations. We arrived right on the earliest check in time but rooms were ready and within 30 mins were checked in bags had been dropped and we ready to make the most of the remaining hours we had in Rome. Offered a good breakfast.

We were given an apartment at another location, which was quite near to the main hotel. THe location of the hotel is quite to the station, a lot of places to eat nearby, and the surroundings are quite safe to stay out late. That said, the person at the reception was very rude. We were three with a child of three. He said the child was too big to be classified as a child and that we should have said he was a person. In no other hotel in our stay of 15 days in Europe did we get that kind of a complaint again. The others who we saw at the reception were ok but the first man whom we had to interact the most was quite rude. Other than that we had no complaints. Though we had to come to the main hotel for breakfast and had to ring a bell and be let in everyytime we entered our apt building, the apartment made up for all that. It was big, very well kept and we were very very pleased. Good breakfast.

Room and bathroom were tiny. Night clerk outright rude. I changed to another hotel after the first night. Area restaurants including the one recommended by the hotel are not outstanding but are overpriced. The sector where the hotel is, close to Termini, is umpleasant. Piazza del Cinquecento facing Termini could use a good hosing to clean all the filth and stench from those bumming around.

Disappointed at first: after check-in, receptionist tells us that our room isn't in the hotel itself, but in a "dependance". Although it is just round the corner, I find this annoying and no help is offered to carry luggage there. The building turns out to be a residential building, of which Piemonte Residence (sic) occupies part of the 3rd floor. There is an old lift, and the entrance is not really clean or nice. The positive part comes after opening the entrance door of the "flat" where the rooms are: totally new, nicely refurbished, nice smell and light. The room is amazing: HUGE by any standards, completely new (I doubt it hosted any other guests before), with a parquet floor and a just GREAT bathroom with a JACUZZI! Let's just say that these details made up for the annoyance of having to ring in order to enter the building itself (every time), having to move to the hotel for breakfasts, and for the lack of some commodities (such as trash bins, paper, brochures, ash tray, telephone instructions etc.) in the room, probably due to the fact that works might be still in progress (it seems probable such a big room might accommodate more than 2 people, since there was room enough for other 4 beds!) All in all I'm satisfied. Still the price paid (95 euros for a double room) seems somewhat high for a 3 stars.

This hotel is very convieniently situated for the Termini train station- a few minutes walk away. Our room was of a very high standard and not as noisy as we had expected. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. There is a good restaurant called Severo 2000 between the hotel and the Termini where we had some good, reasonably priced meals. We found all the main sights were within walking distance and there is a hop-on-hop-off open top bus which runs regularly from the Termini. We would stay here again.

We had just arrived from Sorrento where e150 bought us a beautiful hotel. We were expecting less because it is Rome but it was still disappointing. The day manager's service was excellent.

Noise from street was what you would expect from a major city. Noise from air conditioning in other rooms was excessive and disturbed sleep. Bed was much too firm and therefore very uncomfortable. Lack of sleep spoilt our stay. Hotel condition and staff were very good. Every facility in Rome is within one hour's walking distance. But for the bed, I would use it again.

Hotel was a good value in the off season; I'm not sure the high season rates would have been worth it. I was also there in the winter, and I'm not sure whether the hotel had air con. I had a single room and it was small, but exactly what I expected for the price. It was very clean. I would add directions from Termini to use the exit from the middle of the station on to Via Marsala to get to Via Vicenza - I used the front entrance through the bus area and got myself turned in the wrong direction. It wasn't a huge problem, but with luggage, it was a bit of a hassle. Otherwise, the location was very conventient to the station for arriving/leaving, day trips, and Metro connections for A and B. Overall, it was a very good experience. (I'm not permitting my name to be used, so this won't be published. If I have to log in and give you may account and password, you know who I am and that I did actually book through you, so I'm not sure why keeping my name out of the internet should preclude publishing the comment. When I read the comments, as long as I am comfortable that they are from people who actually used Venere, I don't need to have an actual name. You should reconsider this policy. Regards)

Room a bit cramped, but quiet and facing over a courtyard (looked like a derelict garden). Our biggest problem was the quality of the pillows and the mattress in our room, which were very cheap and uncomfortable (the spare pillow was actually shredded). That meant we didn't sleep well at all and that pretty much cancels the good aspects of the hotel. Also, the toilet gave an awful smell, barely covered by the deodorant the cleaners put in.

A little bit further from the train station than we thought, but still an easy walk. Nice little hotel trying to "upscale" itself, so there was some construction and painting in the lobby and halls. This was a while ago, so they've long since finished. The night porter will go on and on recomending things to do. Only complaint was the heavily smoked in room we got. They had no non-smoking rooms. Otherwise a great little fancy hotel.

Hotel Piemonte was an excellent choice for our 4 night stay in Rome. We were a stones-throw from Termini Station which meant we were able to catch a bus or the metro when our feet were too sore to walk. The rooms were very nice, if not a little small and the bathroom was spotless. We had a nice little balcony which would be idel in the summer. There aren't a huge selection of restaurants in the area, but you need not walk for more than 15 minutes to find somewhere suitable. Breakfast was nice with cheese, ham, breads, cereal, fruit, coffee, tea and cake to choose from.

We so loved this place! The overnight desk clerk was so helpful with restaurant recommendations. We followed his advice and were very pleased. He also gave us advice as to safe travel on buses and the metro. We had no trouble with the metro even though he advised against it. But we did have a problem with a pickpocket on the bus. No bus is safe from them. Buses are crowded and they use that to advantage. Only carry a little money where the professional pickpocket could get it. My billfold was in a buttoned pocket but that seemed no challenge for one of them. Luckily it only had some cash for that day. Other valuables were in a money belt. That is a necessity for Italy. My wife used a fanny pac for her travel. She had no problem with that. But, she also kept valuables in a money belt as the fanny pac is vulnerable to a purse snatcher. The breakfast here is very nice. The place is clean and well taken care of. We were able to keep the window open at night so it is relatively quiet for a place in a city. It is convenient to the train station and thus a great place to stay for all the sights. We would absolutely stay here again!

The breakfast was more than expected since we were able to make ham and cheese sandwiches in the morning as well as have pastries, cereal, yogurt and coffee. The area near the hotel was somewhat seedy but had easy access to the metro so we were easily able to get to all the tourist sites. The staff at the hotel had some great restaurant recommendations. I would def stay there again. It was a great bargain for Rome....and thank God for the AC in August.

The offered quality of hotel was according to our expectations, so we were very satisfied; especially the spacious balcony connected to our room was a nice surprise; also the smooth booking a reservation was very satisfactory. In case we return to Rome we will certainly try to stay in this hotel again.

We just stayed for one night, but the overall impression was great. We didn't find any fault. The fact that the hotel is very close to the train station is VERY convenient. I would stay at Piemonte again.

The worst price/quality ratio of our trip to Europe. The hotel is too expensive for what it offers. Maybe it`s a characteristic of all hotels in Rome...anyway, the most anoying thing was that the air conditioning didn`t work and we had to close the windows because of the noise of motorcicles! The result was that we slept in a much hotter room than our house in Brazil (we do have a working air condition!). Besides that the room was small but well furnitured. The bathroom also, but a little bit too small. The breakfast was very poor also: for three consecutive days the ham was rotten. The personel was fine (except for the lady that works on the breakfast room). The old man that works at night is very funny and gave us nice tips (I forgot his name...). The location of the hotel was ok. Near of the train station but not so close. I think we wont stay that again.

Bonne adresse.

We were very happy with location. It is Rome and the rooms are small and the walls are thin. If you catch my drift!!! In general I would recommend this hotel to anyone as it in the end you spend very little time in it. Clean, safe and friendly. We got caught with the European time change and the kitchen staff was not too understanding.

A short 5 minute walk from the train station and about 20 minutes to the Coliseum. Pleasant, clean rooms, good for 2 or 3 nights, pleasant & helpful staff.

Very convenient location. Well maintained facility. Contrary to some opinions that we had read, we found the rooms adequately spacious and the breakfast fare quite good although somewhat limited. The staff were extremely helpful when we returned to this hotel a second time due to our need to return home on an emergency basis.

We stayed there a week. We enjoyed hotel and city very much. If you call there directly (they speak English) you might get better prices. Not good: The room was small. Good: Best concierge in town; very close to the station; although small the room was nice furnitured, very clean, and looked freshly renovated; many bars and restaurants around with very reasonable prices and friendly people. We would choose this hotel again.
