The charming Piccolo Borgo Hotel is a 3-star Rome area hotel located around 6 miles (10 kilometers) from the historical center of Rome, in the midst of one of Europe's largest open-air museums, consisting of the nearby Appian Way Park, Roman aqueduct remains, and the historical Capannelle village.

The property used to house a church and horse stables and is set out in a horseshoe layout. These days, the old stables, dating back to the early 1900's, accommodate the hotel's double and triple guestrooms. The 18th-century St. Anthony's Church, which was deconsecrated long ago, houses the reception lounge, 4 single guestrooms on the lower floor, and 2 suites on the upper floor.

Also on site is a charming alfresco restaurant that serves dinner Monday through Saturday, and a poolside bar. 24-hour room service is available. A roundtrip airport shuttle is available on request with advanced notice for a surcharge. Complimentary wireless Internet access is provided throughout common areas. Multiple audiovisual-equipped meeting rooms, secretarial services, and a technology support staff are available to ensure business travelers have everything they need.

Pets and service animals are welcome at this pet-friendly hotel in specific rooms, and other pet restrictions apply.

The hotel was nice but it was in a bad location. It is directly in a flight path. The staff were ok but appeared snobby to be honest. The bus service was great to have but limited you greatly. There are buses that go from the main town that drop you close to the hotel but I will state the walk from the metro to the hotel takes 20-30 mins and is exceptionally dangerous in certain parts. There were Ants in our bathroom. One of my big problems with the hotel was even though it was nearly 25 degrees the pool was shut because of the time of year. The room was great. If you re willing to drive its grand.

In our opinion this hotel is in a poor location, with absolutely nothing nearby. While about 10 minutes from the metro station by car, it is impossible to walk there, as there is no pavement for part of the route. This means that you need to co-ordinate your arrival at the metro, with the very limited hotel shuttle service, when leaving and returning to the hotel- or incur a taxi charge of 15 Euros each way every time you go out. There is no shuttle between 12.45-16.00hr, therefore you effectively can't check-in unti after 4pm. The hotel is also located directly in a flight path-so don't expect to get much sleep-we didn't. You can find much better options in Rome than this hotel- we paid the same price at a hotel steps from the vatican, that was bigger and provided a kitchenette.

A great spot if you are looking for a quiet place to unwind out of the busy center of Rome. We found the room, staff and meals to be great as the breakfasts were the best we encountered on our 3 week trip in Italy with a great variety. The trip on the subway and shuttle would get tedious for an extended stay, but fine for a few days and nice to see the countryside at the end of the day.

The Hotel Piccolo Borgo is situated out of the centre of Rome and not far from the metro system. The hotel offers a free shuttle service, but this does not run throughout the day as stated. It also does not run extra journeys even if you offer to pay. Also the Hotel is situated underneath the flight path of the nearest airport, so you can hear the planes slightly when there overhead. The staff where polite and friendly but they did not exceed expectations. The hotel itself is very nice, clean, a good size, modern, done up to a good standard and the breakfast is excellent. Overall I would reccommend this hotel, its just a shame about the shuttle service, particularly as taxi in rome are expensive.

A great find. Used it as an overnight stop before flight home from Ciampino Airport after touring Tuscany but would stay there if visiting Rome. The hotel has a free and frequent shuttle to the rail station so it is easy to get into the city. We had a very good quality meal at the hotel in the evening which was great value. I highly recommend staying at this modern, clean and pleasant hotel.

Our holiday in this hotel was excellent. The only thing is, that it is far away from rom city. But there is a shuttel-service which brings you from 8:00-22:00 to the Metrostation Cinecitta (the little Hollywood from Italy). Staff was extremly friendly!!!!!!!

Charming location, wonderful breakfast, clean and pleasant room with table and chairs in small front garden. There is a good cafe/restaurant 10 min walk (back to main road, turn left) We were very impressed by the courtesy bus which collected us from the airport and took us to the metro station in the morning. We only stayed 1 night but it was the best accommodation of the trip.

This is a newly built - just over one year old - hotel in a small "green" area about 10 k from the centre of Rome. Layout of the grounds and hotel nicely designed, the centre area has a lovely landscaped garden, most rooms look out onto it. Nice breakfast room, serving juices, cereals, cheese, cold cuts, bread rolls, cake, pies, croissants and good coffee. Parking area is separate so the accommodation area stays relatively quiet except that our room was opposite the reception and cars pulling up at odd hours should turn off their engine. We booked and paid for a triple (2 adults and one 13 year old, we got a double room with an extra bed in place of perhaps a couch. The bathroom was modern, nicely designed, great shower, and very clean as was the whole room. Outside each room was a small garden area/patio protected by a hedge for privacy - a good place to relax either before embarking on sightseeing or after returning. Rooms were nicely decorated, and since we went sightseeing each day,the size was suitable. Bed was comfortable but pillows not so comfortable and need to be changed . There is an a very nice restaurant very close recommended by the Reception, very convenient for dinner if you don't want to travel too far. The reception can arrange to take you there and pick you up but I would imagine that most people who come to this hotel arrive by their own car. We would definitely use this hotel again. Gentleman at the Reception, spoke excellent English and was very helpful.

We were pleasantly surprised by the layout of this hotel. It is a bit out of the way from the main town but there is a courtesy bus from the hotel. The rooms were spacious and very clean. I would certainly recommend this hotel if you want something a bit different.
