We were in Rome for five nights. The location was excellent and the bed and bath fine. The breakfast was the typical European "light" breakfast but tasty and the coffee great. The price was a great value. I was disappointed, however, in not being able to access the internet on my computer, even though I was told wi-fi was available at the nearby partner hotel. Some people were able to access it, but not my mac nor another person's computer -- not sure why. Also the air conditioning was inadequate for Rome - it made a dent but not much more. The staff did speak English and was very helpful. So it was not perfect, but at the price, I was happy. Just make sure you have an internet backup if that's important to you.

I can only recommend this lovely hotel. If you are looking for a central clean hotel with a breakfast with a wide choice and friendly proffessional staff, you will be sure satisfied. They provide a free wi-fi access, too. Each evening they offer a free happy hour snack with really good italian wine.

My friends and I went for a short trip to Rome. To stay in this hotel was not a mistake. It’s clean and beautiful. We noted that the furnitures and embedded paints around adopt the taste that we clients look for in a hotel. It has a free wi-fi connections, the staff was polite and courteous. The management offers happy hour aperitives too, a very refreshing way of welcoming clients, and feel at home. We were able to enjoy our stay in Rome going around the city, shopping, dining in different italian restaurants, visiting monuments that informations were provided by the staff. The city itself has made us see the beauty of Rome in the evening... leaving it full of energy as we went back to our home. Many thanks to you, Hotel Picasso!

From the moment we walked in the door we were treated as very important people. The walk from the Train station wasn't bad and the attractions were not far considering how spread out they are. The room was comfortable and we were surprised with a card congratulating us on our Honeymoon which I mention when making the reservations. The AC worked well. The Breakfast was nice though the room is a tight squeeze of tables. The staff was helpful in making tourist plans though one bit of information was off from what was told. The group tour that picked us up at the hotel did not take us directly to the Vatican which we were told by hotel staff. We were taken to their office first then the tour guides transfered us to a larger bus after a little wait. The hotel staff did arrange for our breakfast to be available earlier than the usual time listed in order to make the tour pickup time. We enjoyed our stay at the Hotel Picasso overall and would stay here again.

Impeccable pour notre WE prolongé.

Location is pretty good, but hotel is poor and not as attractive as it looked in the pictures. Breakfast room is very tiny, you can hardly move. There was nothing else served only dry rolls, cookies and cappuccino. The TV didn't work or had bad signal, a fridge in the room didn't work at all, neither did the safe, and one morning all electricity went out... However, staff was nice and accomodating.

It is a very central hotel, a bit expensive if we look to the services it provides, just bed, shower and breakfast, very continental one ( coffe, toast, butter, jam, orange juice, etc. In general I recomend it to young couples who don´t want to go to a hostel and share a room, and at the same time to be in the city centre. Thanks Philip, your information was very helpful.

The hotel was in an excellent location,10 mins from Termini and walkable to the major sites. However our room was just off reception(there are only 8 rooms)and was very noisy as the front doorbell could be heard quite clearly in our room when other guests returned. Also being on the first floor the traffic noise was very evident. Also breakfast was adequate but very limited.

Hotel was hard to find as it was poorly marked. Owners husband accompanied us to our room and reeked of liquor. Air conditioned did not work and the fan provided was old, noisy, and did not work properly. Bathroom was crowded with 4 fixtures and we bumped into one or the other many times. Maid never made up room till nearly 4pm. Breakfast room was very crowded especially on Sunday. Room was noisy. Every time you used the elevator it cost 10 cents Euro. Over priced for location and services rendered.

Good hotel for the price; good value. One side of the hotel borders an unexpectedly noisy street, so a room on that side with the window open at night means lots of noise. We selected a double room with a king size bed, but ended up with a triple (for no additional charge), so we had a bit more room. The breakfast was included and simple but good: rolls, breads, jams, cheese spreads, cereals and milk, 3 kinds of juice, coffee, cappucino, nice server. Rooms were cleaned well during our stay. The hotel is about a 8-10 min walk from Termini. No large sign you will see from the street; you have to be almost right in front of the hotel to see the name. 24 hr desk that will buzz you in via intercom. The hotel is actually on two split floors, the 1st and 5th above ground level. ALSO, Venere says air conditioning is included and the rooms have A/C units, but on arrival in the room we were told that it was broken and not sure when it would be fixed; and it never worked throughout our stay. We were there in mid-September though, so not unbearable.

First off do not use the hotel safe. We put quite a it of money in it and 1200.00 Euro mysteriously dissapeared. I'm talking about the safe at the front desk. Our room safe did not work. They refused to call the Carbinari's into investigate and basically told us tough luck. Nice huh. The info on this hotel is VERY misleading. The lift did not work, heck it wasn't even installed. The air-conditioning did not work either. And no internet connection available. Whom ever was cleaning our room each day just LOVED going through our luggage too. By the way as a retired Police Officer I was not at all happy with how this situation was handled at all. Please think twice before staying in this Hotel.

Nice hotel for the price. Elevator available, however, it required 0.10 euros to operate. Hotel did pay for initial lift when checking in. Air conditioning unit did not work, and when windows were open, it could be very noisy. We did not inquire with them to fix it, since it never got that terribly hot.

We were able to walk to the train station when the hotel had a power failure the morning we left and could not call a taxi for us. We enjoyed having a window that opened on the street. We only saw that this hotel had been given terrible reviews after we had booked 7 nights there so it was a great relief to discover that the Picasso bore little resemblence to the hotel they described. A handy 10 minutes walk from the train station, the Picasso is also ideally situated closer to the centre than most other budget hotels. It is 10 minutes walk from the Colloseum and Roman Forum, 20 minutes from the Trevi Fountain, and the metro to the Vatican or Testaccio area (great restaurants) is close by. The room was very clean, tastefully decorated although a bit rough around the edges, had good air condidioning, a nice bathroom and the view was ok too. It was also very quiet as it is situated on a small road off Via Nazionale. The breakfast room is very small but even in mid August we always got a table straight away. The reception was just a desk in the corridor which was occasionally unattended, meaning a short wait to be buzzed in or out of the main door to the building. On the whole very good value and we had a nice stay there.

The stay in Hotel Picasso was very enjoyable, with clean, air-conditioned rooms at a very reasonable rate. My only quibble was that although 24-hour access was advertised, when I arrived at 3 am (due to a late flight) I could not get into the building because the night porter was asleep. Eventually another occupant in the same building opened the door for me.

The worst price-quality ratio I have ever had! No correspondence to the description in the web. I even had to go and pick the toiletpaper in the morning, waiting 2 minutes and then carrying it back to my through the staircase. Breakfast-room so small that we prefered to go for an espresso and cornetto outside. I would never go there again. And it made my stay in Rome not so nice as I expected. Next time I will take 4* which are not so much more expensive in some cases. kind regards, Monika Kail

This hotel was absolutely appauling and i would not recommend anyone to stay there. The air conditioning did not work in any of the rooms and the electricity kept cutting out. The management (not staff) did not care at all about how comfortable we were and the reception always had a different member of staff on so that you could not blame any one person. The breakfast was of low quality and the noise from outside was unbearable. We are making a complaint to the tourist board about this hotel and are demanding some form of refund.

Easy to find the hotel from the main train station as good location in the centre. When we arrived there was no hot water, this continued all night and into the morning despite us being told it was fixed. Not good for a shower after a long journey to Rome. The room itself was very noisy from traffic and smelt strongly of cigarette smoke, so much so that we had to open the window despite it being very cold (it was in February) and noisy already. We also asked for a double room but got a twin with 2 uncomfortable single beds next to each other. Not too bad except for the beds having castors and the floor was hard tiles so the beds just moved apart from each other when you tried to move in bed. The in-room heater was wholly inadequate for the job too so we were cold and couldn't comfortably snuggle to warm each other up. Not a good stay, we'd booked for 3 nights and left after the first. The hotel moved us to another of their hotels (Carravagio) which was much improved although it cost more and we had a mild ant infestation (this was our fault, apparently as we'd left a pear on the bedside cabinet). Not a good impression of this company's hotels. Perhaps they'd improve if a little money was spent on them.

Room was very good & reasonably spacious. Both the room & bathroom were clean and were cleaned everyday (fresh towels). Breakfast was adequate & since we stayed in off season (5 nights in late Nov 2002) the breakfast room was not crowded. The staff was pleasant & helpful. There was some repairs going on to the elevator & for 3 days we'd to climb stairs (that's about the only complaint we have). Try and get room in upper floors (4 & above) since the rooms facing road could have road noise in the night. We'd noise problem on saturday but not sunday onwards. Rooms also have a minibar (fridge) which can be used to keep cold drinks/yoghurt etc. Is about 5-10 mins walking from Termini station and the closest subway is 5 mins away. Via Nazionale is just a block away and has good shopping. 15 mins walk to colloseum (lot of restaurants on the way). Overall we are very satisfied with our stay there and since didn;t pay a lot ($75/night) it was a good deal as well.

Great location just off Via Nazionale. Easy walking distance to main historical centre (Coloseum, Foro Romano, Trevi Fountain etc) and to the Metro Line for access to further destinations (ie Vatican City). Also, great little trattoria situated right next door which was remarkably cheap. The Picasso is not a "hotel" as such more a converted apartment block without full apartment facilities. There are no hotel facilities and breakfast is a complete joke.
