Alas, we dubbed this place "Hotel Povo" as it is really very run down and does not reflect good value for money. We have been delighted with every other property we have booked through Venere, but this one was a great disappointment. No elevators, poor room furniture. I would not recommend this.

Pavia is very near to Termini. It's about 5 mins walking to the Termini metro exit of Via Marlasa. Our room is directly face to the Park and had a very nice view.Supermarket CONAD is two blocks away from Pavia and is very easy to be found.Breakfast is a little bit simple but its cappuccino is more than great.A fly in the ointment is the continous noise of the washing machine after 11 o'clock everynight.

Good location, close to train station, subway and nevertheless very quiet. Very nice breakfast. In the bathroom you have to fight with shower and toilets! Good start point to walk through the city. Only Vatican is worth reaching by subway.

The receptionists were so warm and supportive (English speaking staffs). The information provided by them was so helpful that there was no need for a tour leader! this hotel is clean and is located in a very very good part of the city. the rooms were better than expected for the price.

Very helpful and pleasant staff. Rooms needed some basic maintenance e.g. cracked sink, toilet seat not fixed shower not very nice. Peaceful location for centre of city. Some people openly using drugs in the street outside, not very good when you have children with you (I know this is not within the control of the hotel)

The only good thing about this hotel is its location, which is close to the Termini station. If you dont mind having a shower in a toilet, then be their guest. If you picture a toilet with a shower tap between the toilet and the basin, thats what the shower is. I am not normally a person to complain, but I will not stay here again, Please remove it from your site. Its not worth the price. I would have rather paid more to stay elsewhere.

The hotel was exactly as communicated on the venere site. Clean and friendly. Photos show reality. Location excellent, close to all means of traffic, easy to reach all important places within the city centre. Staff was welcoming and helpful. They were even very flexible with early arrival / late leaving. The buffet breakfast was better than we could expect in Italy. We would WARMLY RECOMMEND Pavia to anyone who searches a decent middle category hotel to stay for 3-5 nights.

We had a single and a triple room. Both rooms were clean, but very cold (we had to sleep in pullovers!), moreover the single room (and especially its bathroom) was very small and noisy because of a nearby toilet. On the other hand we enjoyed the conveniant location (on the backside of the terme Diocletiane and very near to stazione Termini) and the tasty breakfast.

I paid 120Euros per night, and the big selling point was that it had free internet wireless access at no additional charge, and it is less than 3 minutes walk from Termini. Yes, granted there are better hotels for more money, but based on the location and what it offered, the place fit the bill. Yes, there was mold in the bathroom, and the walls were thin, so that if your neigbhors were noisy, it would be hard to go to sleep. Again for what I paid, it was great. Granted, if I had done more homework, I might have found a better place. The hotel people were friendly and helpful, like all service people should be. Again, understand that this is not the Ritz Carlton.

Location was good, very near Termini Metro/Train station, but in a quiet street. Other hotels are nearby and a couple of restaurants/bars. Price Value not Good - for 145 we could have gotten a much better hotel. Overall, we didn't find the room or the facilities very clean, the carpet seemed old and dirty, and the walls were covered with upholstery not very clean either. But at least the bed (sheets) and bathroom were ok. Breakfast is included. Not so good but ok. Very limited quantities, they don't replenish.

Hotel Pavia was quite OK to the price for the room. The staff is friendly and helpful. I red earlier comments before the visit and do not agree with the negative ones. Though, I would recommend the hotel to get rid of the filthy wall-to-wall carpet in the room. The room faced to the right the D... thermes and you could see the backyard to the streethouse in front, with much green, children noising and dogbarking in the early evening. but that is ordinary life. The nights and mornings were very quiet.

The only point of this hotel is the location, near to the station. We had chosen it because it said wifi free but actually we couldn't even download e-mails because the connection was extremely slow ! During the night they even disconnected wifi. There was one small shower room with toilet and shower (so small that you could do both at the same time) and after shower the floor got completely wet. Anyway the water was cold , too cold to take shower. At night it was noisy.

This was an awful hotel. There was an extra 10 Euro charge for a/c, and the room was dated, old, and dingy. The owner's dog barked and cried for several hours (starting at 12:30 am), and I was told by Frederico at the front desk that there was nothing that he could do. It's amazing that the owner, Sergio Villarini lives at the other end of Rome, but keeps his dog in the kitchen of the hotel to keep his hotel guests awake. I would NEVER return here.

The Pavia is in a good location - quiet street, 5 mins from Termini. We had a quadruple room (2 adults, 2 children)which was very cramped and the decor dated. It was okay as we were only there 2 days, but not suitable for any longer. The staff were helpful though. There is no lift, if you have a lot of luggage. Fine for a couple who want to spend time out and about, but a family - no.

The Pavia is a decent location since it is close to Termini, which is convienent if you are planning on using the buses or Metro to get around the city. However, the hotel is not close walking distance to any of Rome's major attractions. The room was really small and the bathroom was even smaller. The shower was literally a small square glass capsule and had very very poor water pressure. There is also not a lift (elevator), so if you have heavy suitcases, be prepared to drag them up the stairs. The best part of the hotel was that there was free internet service available in the lobby. one more comment is that the pictures online do not represent the actual hotel or it's surroundings itself. the pictures make it seem like their is a courtyard area?? I would not stay here if I was to revisit Rome.

This is a very nice hotel. We really enjoyed staying there. They even have internet access for free. Breakfast is very good, but the room where it is served is too small, so you must wait a long time for a table to sit. They do not accept visa travelers cheques in euro. Can you believe that? But I would definitely stay there again!!!

Hotel was being spruced up consequently workmen around and smell of paint was a slight problem. But booked well in advance for two double rooms for single use for myself and friend. Was asked to move to a single - refused - following day was told friend would be moved to a different albeit close hotel as he was only there for one night! Refused and room was found for him! How very italian! Breakfast good and generally standard of rooms etc good. Good to have a safe and a mini bar in the room. area a little rougher than expected but not bad. On my first night asked reception about local restaurants and was directed to good local tratt and they also provided map. generally very likeable place and people.

We had an overall pleasant stay apart from packing our case on the morning, going for breakfast in the hotel, going back to the room to collect our case and heading straight to the airport. After arriving home and unpacking we found our camcorder missing, our camera and numerous other items, we cannot prove that it was staff from the hotel or its happened at the airport, either way very upset and highly disappointed.

The hotel sucks. We booked 3 nights. Stayed only first night cause it was compulsory, then moved into another hotel which was: much better, better located, same price. There are a lot of hotels in the area —and closer to city center— which cost exactly the same money and are better. I don't think I'll book hotels through this web anymore, since it seemed to me it was a waste of money for such a poor service.

PLEASE DO NOT STAY IN THIS HOTEL, THREE FEMALES ARRIVING LATE AT NIGHT IN AN AREA WE DID NOT KNOW. WE STILL WOULDN'T STAY IN THIS HOTEL. THE LOCATION WAS GOOD BUT THAT WAS THE ONLY GOOD THING ABOUT THIS HOTEL. STAFF WERE EXPECTING US THE ROOM WAS READY, WE WERE NOT READY FOR THE ROOM. I THOUGHT I HAD JUST WALKED INTO A 70'S FILM SET. WE COULD HAVE LAY IN THE DOUBLE BED AND TOUCHED THE W.C. THE CARPET WAS THREAD BARE THE ROOM WAS DARK AND DINGY AND THE ANTS PARADING ALL OVER THE FRIDGE WAS THE FINAL STRAW. CONSIDERING WE VISITED IN JANUARY THIS WAS NOT WHAT WE EXPECTED. WE DID EXPLAIN TO THE RECEPTION THE REASON WHY WE WERE NOT STAYING, THE FACT THAT IT WOULD STRUGGLE TO MEET A 2 STAR NEVER MIND 3 STAR. OF COURSE HE WASN'T VERY HAPPY AND INSISTED WE PAY FOR THE ROOM. IN THE END WE PUT THE KEYS ON THE DESK AND LEFT, THE ISSUE OF PAYMENT IS STILL OUTSTANDING. THEY HAVE MY CREDIT CARD DETAILS BUT NO SIGNATURE AND THE CARD COMPANY HAVE BEEN INFORMED.

The hotel was in a perfect location. It was a 5 minute walk from the train station and was easy to find. It was only a 5 minute metro ride from the train station to most of the city attractions. Overall, I would recommend Hotel Pavia to anyone. The price is perfect for this hotel.

We couldn't get a room with a bit of view. The window in the first room was opening to a plant. We couldn't really open it. The second room was smaller but at least we could get a bit of light. If your neighbours are noisy, you could hear it in your room. The shower in the room was very small. Actually it was just a shower and a curtain in the toilet but then again, you get what you pay for. The price was cheap and it was really close to the main train station and the pick up point for Ryan Air bus to airport. Very handy as we had to get the shuttle bus at 4.30 AM.

I'm sorry to say our stay at the Pavia Hotel was disappointing. The quad room was extremely small, the beds uncomfortable, the bathroom tiny and extremely noisy. No elevator to the third floor with luggage a hassle. A two star hotel at best.

The hotel is not right in the middle of the action but it's right beside the terminal, easy to get metro but walking to places is not that far either. The breakfast of the hotel is excelent...order the capuccino!

I have already recommended Pavia to a friend planning a trip to Rome. The location so near the buses & trains could not have been more perfect. The breakfast was great and the morning staff very pleasant and quick to meet your needs. We were always pleasantly greeted upon our return & our request for wake-up calls was handled perfectly.

Location near train station is terrific. Staff was friendly and helpful. The room has seen better days. The carpet was filthy and the shower so small you could not turn around in it. This is really a two-star hotel.

My room was small but more than adequate with a very small bath. I did have a wonderful view across the Roman Museum! The staff were very helpful.

Tranquille, calme et bien dans l'ensemble; belle vue depuis l'escalier sur le jardin du musée. Petit souci de changement de chambre sans préavis. Conseil : ne pas laisser la voiture dans la rue si vous y tenez.

Filthy walls, hairs covering the sheets, leaky faucet and a big welcome from the hairball floating in the toilet like a cockroach's liferaft. This place made me almost cry. Thank god it was our last in Italy

The location of the hotel is very good in the aspect that it is close to the train station but in the evening it is not very plesant. We paid the highest price for this hotel comapred to our entire stay in Italy but it was the least plesant place. Of course hotels in big cities are always less quality for more price but i think the price should be a little lower for what you get. The service though was very good and the atmosphere was nice

This is not a 3 star hotel as far as I am concerned. It's a standard 2 star. There was electrical wiring hanging out from the walls which I thought was dangerous. There is no secure luggage storage if you want to pick up your bags later in the day. The facilities are very basic and not stylish or elegant as the website suggests. There is nothing stylish or elegant AT ALL.

I never saw that view from the picture they have on the web page!! They put 3 beds in a room for 1 bed. Parking is 13 euro, not like they advertise. Is really hard to find since only the door of the place is exposed to the outside. It is a laberinth to find. Next time I will look for something better. this is not a 3 star place!

The Pavia is a short walking distance from the Station and the drop off point for the Ryanair Coach. It is a quiet oasis in a busy part of the city. The on-line details were accurate so there were no surprises when my wife and I arrived. The beds were firm and comfortable. The size of the room was reasonable, and the en-suite bathroom was small but adequate. The staff were welcoming and helpful. We would be happy to pay a further visit to the Pavia.
