We booked this Pensione after reading online reviews and we haven't been disappointed. Location.. Close to the bus terminal and main street. Everything about this place is exceptional. Excellent breakfast. We paid extra to have a 4th floor room with a sea view and balcony .... Fabulous.

We were very positively surprised by this accommodation. We had a good price and in such a famous city you do not expect much for the price. However the personel was very friendly. The room was fine with a good bathroom. Good beds and nice breakfast.

I stayed in Rome for 4 nights - 3 nights and then returned for one more before flying out. I had 2 types of rooms. The rooms are very small. The first room the shower was located in the middle of the room with a separate bathroom which I found extremely strange. This was larger than the second room I had. The staff are not very helpful or welcoming. It was difficult to extract information from them on very basic things like where do the buses run from, what bus do I need to catch and how to get to the airport. I always felt I was interrupting what they were doing with my questions. I also felt I needed to ask many questions to get the answer - they weren't very forthcoming with any information. Also, they didn't even offer any assistance with my bags even though they could see I was struggling. The location of the hotel is fine, particularly if you are intending on using the Rail network in Italy. As a single traveller it served its purpose but I would think twice about staying there again when I return to Rome.

The hotel was quite close to a metro stop. However there was a lot of construction going on in the area and it was a little inconvenient. The windows are not double glazed so there was quite a bit of noise from the outside especially in the mornings. The staff were quite helpful. Overall we had a pleasant stay.

Good value for Rome. Good location. Not the best breakfast. Huge room and clean. Front desk arranged for taxi for us to airport on departure and it was great. My only problem was that the bathroom was set up weird. Toilet and bidet facing one another with about a foot space in between them and the bathtub. Bathtub was very high to climb into with so little space. My mom is 81 and was not able to get into the tub!

I had to visit Rome for purely practical purposes during October 2007. I was not looking for a 5* hotel The Hotel Patria appeared to be the best on offer. I know this area of Rome quite well and so I knew that I was near to all the offices that I wanted to visit. I was given very accurate descriptions to the hotel but as it was only a six or seven minute walk from the station I walked. I did not find my reception at the hotel very warm. I was half way through checking in when the receptionist decided to attend to someone else. This gave me a chance to look around the lobby and though not unclean in any way it was, let us say ‘tired’. At last the receptionist gave me my key. He did not point out the location of the lift, where my room was or when breakfast was served. I have never checked into a hotel and so few words were exchanged. I went to my room and received a very pleasant surprise. Despite being a single it was spacious with a separate shower and clean, well-appointed bathroom. There was a writing desk, (essential for me) plasma screen TV, safe and radio. It was all that a room should be. I went out in the afternoon and when I gave in my key the new receptionist did not acknowledge my existence. When I returned and asked for my room number I was surprised to be asked my name and have it checked on a list. After meeting some friends in the evening I returned to the hotel, and, fancying a drink asked if anyone was serving in the small bar. I was told that there was and that I should wait. Someone came along, sat down and repeatedly changed TV channels without asking me what I wanted. I left without having a drink and receptionist never appeared to notice the fact. I do not think that a drink had been served from the bar for some time. The next morning I went down to breakfast and had surprise number two as I found myself in the most delightful small breakfast room with back-lit stained glass panels. There were two people clearing and wo

Hotel localization is excelent (near Piazza de la Republica, metro, Via Nazionale and Termini Station). I thought the place very safe, even during the night. I walked alone with no problem at all. I stayed in a single room (it's small, but very clean and confortable, with a LCD television). Breakfast is included on the price, but sometimes it's necessary to wait your turn, because there aren't enough tables to all customers. The service is very good (all my requirements were prompt attended). The only problem is the noise until about 23:00 hs due to the excelent localization, but is something you can manage and support. I definetly recommend this hotel.

We spent 3 days nights at the Hotel Patria, and the hotel was very much as described by this site. The service was very good, continental breakfast was good, room on the small side but adequate for a short stay, but very clean and quiet. Excellent location with a good balance of cost versus quality. Reception staff were helpful, overall an enjoyable stay.

The hotel is situated closely to the Termini Station and the Metro (the Repubblica station, 300 metres away), so it is easy to get around. Overall the Hotel is okay if you compare quality and price. Nevertheless a couple of things will - probably - cause you some irritation. We stayed at the hotel for a week and the room was not vacuumed a single time! The breakfast room is VERY small. About 6-8 tables for all of the hotel (40-50 rooms). You might imagine that it causes quite a line in the morning (everybody seems to want breakfast at the same time). The hotel does not offer breakfast else where, so prepare yourself to be patient (at least in high season).

We were very satisfied. But the breakfast, ... was not so fantastic! And it's realistic to improve the organisation during the breakfast time. By the way the breakfast is better in Patria as in different hotels of London!

We stayed for five days. Although the rooms were announced to be ready at 2 p.m. only, we could enter one already at 9.30 a.m. to leave our baggage, which was great. Optimal central location.

The room size was quite small, after comparing it to our other hotels/B&Bs in Italy. The lift was also extremely tight, two people max. The location works to see the main sights b/c it's easy to access public transportation. Overall, we were ok with our stay but for the price you may want to shop around.

this hotel exceeded my expectations. it was very clean, decent breakfast served every morning, within walking distance of train station (nice for carrying luggage) and other sites in central rome. the only problem we had was not being able to pay with card because the machine wasn't working. otherwise...no problems at all.

Two main reasons motivated selecting the Patria based on the advertisement online; airport shuttle service and wireless internet access. The hotel actually offers neither.
