It is a great view from the top of the collisium. The breakfast is less than edible and they say a lite dinner is offered. I find a lite dinner of nuts and crackers a bit lite. The drinks are very expensive. Very hard to find a place to eat around the hotel. So eat before you come back to the area. Paid 60 euro to get to the hotel from the train station only after taking the train from the airport because they did not send the car I had ordered and had a confirmation on. From the airport the car would have costed us 60 euro and two hours less in time. The staff was not very helpful let alone ever around. It was a beautiful city but the hotel was very expensive for what you got and I would not recommend it to any one. A better place to stay would be up by the Spanish Steps if you would like a little advise. If we could have left and gone elsewhere I would have.

We spent one week in the Loft Serpenti, an appartment of this hotel. Nobody has informed us before that the appartment is actually located outside the hotel, where there is NO view whatsoever, high marble stairs, no fresh bread for breakfast and discos at night. The staff was quite unfriendly, and the price is too high for the value offered. We were quite disappointed with this choise. We do not recommend it and would never go there again.

The Hotel itself is in a good location if your main interest is the collusseum. Be aware that the "loft" rooms are not located in the actual building of the hotel and are actually a 5-10 min walk away. If you stay in the loft rooms you are not offered complimentary buffet breakfast like the rooms in the hotel are, instead you are given packet food and are expected to eat that. If you wish to go for the breakfast buffet you will have to pay an extra 20 euro per person!! We found the staff to be quite rude and very unhelpful when we had requests. It all seemed too hard. We ended up cancelling our booking and moving to a more friendlier hotel accross the road which included breakfast! As much as the rooms in the hotel building were nice from what i saw, i would not stay here again due to the poor service we recieved.

The best service I ever encounter from an hotel staff. The hotel is just in from of the Colosseo, and we had free tickets from the hotel for visiting it. Very nice also the free welcome drink in the panoramic terrace. The metro is just 5 minuts walking, and you can easly reach every place of Rome.

I travel very frequently for business and pleasure, and this hotel can be described with one word...EXCELLENT! Central location, quiet, nice breakfast, very clean, and very supportive staff. My car service confused the date my reservation, and the staff at this hotel was able to find me another service immediately. It should be rated 5 stars.

This was our 1st family visit to Roma. We stayed at the Gladiatori Apartments – about a 10 minute walk from the Coliseum. The staff at Dei Gladiatori Hotel (a phone call away) was awesome and very helpful. For us, 2 adults and two older children (20 and 21) the apartment, and the location were great! The minuses for some people would be the 3 flights of stairs and the typical small European shower - however this was not a problem for us. We will definitely consider either the hotel or the apartments again!

The hotel sleeping rooms are quiet and perfect if you want to sleep in. The roof top terrace is great for breakfast. We were not always pleased with the concierge recomendations on restaurants and guides.

Hotel Galdiotori is very definitely the best hotel we have stayed at in Rome. Although pricey, you get value for money. The staff are attentive without being overly humble. You are situated on the main road so sirens at night were a regular accompaniment! Be careful of restaurants near big attractions - very expensive and some not great. The best we ate at was La Carbonara in Cavour. Only a 15 minute walk from Gladiatori but excellent food. This is an Italian restaurant for Italians so take your phrase book with you!

Overall, the hotel was awesome! The view is gorgeous from the roof top terrace and the bar is excellent. Great service too! The only thing I would comment on is that it can be a bit noisy at night time from the street traffic. I would reccomend an inside room. There won't be a view but it will be alot more quiet. Definitely would go back!

Rooms were somewhat small, but very clean and neat. Hotel staff was top notch. This hotel has the best view in Rome by far. I can endorse the Hotel Dei Gladiatori with great enthusiasm!

Room we had was small but comfortable and well appointed. Quality fitings - en suite marble very clean. Decor warm and simple. Only down side was the noise from traffic as the trams rumbled past but the location and friendliness of staff made up for this. Breakfast on the rooftop overlooking the Colosseum was amazing.

The hotel was just as pictured on the website. The location is excellent. We were able to tour the Coliseum and Forum in the morning, return to the hotel for a rest, and revisit again in the afternoon. The staff were very courteous and helpful.

The room was exactly as stated. The view could not have been better. Everyone was extremely helpful and offered to even stop on their way to work to purchase Lemoncella for me because it was not available in the immediate area. I would defineately stay there again.

We stayed in the Gladiatori at the end of February. Our room was smallish, but not tiny, but the view from the window was superb - you could almost reach out and touch the colloseum! The room was very quiet & it was hard to believe that you were right beside a busy road - the double glazing worked very well! The bathroom was really good with a hot, powerful shower & nice big thick towels & bathrobe. On our first evening there, we got back to the room after a hard day's walking around the sights of Rome (in the rain!), to find a bottle of bubbly & plate of canapes waiting for us - it was very much appreciated! Only tiny complaint is that the bar was a little on the pricey side, however you don't get a spectacular view of one of the most famous monuments in the world in every bar!
