My wife & I took this hotel for the night after landing and the night before departure from the Fiumicino airport. This is a nice hotel for 1 night. The rooms are very small but other than that the stay was very pleasant. We stayed at the beginning of December which is very much off season so the hotel was practically empty and very quiet.

Overall the access to the web from my laptop was not to my full satisfaction. A technician needed to come into my room, move around furniture in order to get the ethernet cable connected to my laptop. Even then the connection was not very good. I would suggest the hotel invests into a Wi-Fi System and subscribes to a reliabel ISP so that each room has Wi-Fi. Rest of the hotel stay was very pleasant and I would without any hesitation recommend this property and go back anytime.

An industrial neighborhood. A great place to stay if you're overnighting before Fiumicino airport. The dining room is not that bad, either. Tends to get some tour groups. Breakfast room opens very early.

We arrived after dark, so were not able to see the surroundings. We were allowed to pour our own wine and serve snacks to our traveling companions in the lobby before dinner. It is bare bones lodging, but comfortable and clean. We just got off 11 nights sailing on a new ship, so even our own home looked rather shabby when we got home. I would stay at the Park Hotel again.

The one distinguishing feature of this hotel was the shuttle to Fiumicino airport. However, this only runs on restricted hours. I arrived late and had an early flight and ended up spending 80 Euro on taxis which was more than the cost of the hotel. The entire hotel was overrun with teenagers running up and down the halls to all hours of the night. The front desk was not particularly friendly and over the phone they were rude.

Perfect for a stay before or after a trip to Fiumicino Airport. Breakfast not great if you take it at face value, but if you ask the staff for something you don't see, you will probably get it. Very friendly and efficient.

Our family of five stayed for a night to be close to the airport for an early flight. It was conveniently located but not so close that airplane noise was annoying. Staff were helpful and courteous. Rooms were small in size but had everything we required for a brief stay.

This is a good hotel for a 1 or 2 night stay near the airport, convenient to a bus stop for the train or visit to Ostia Antica. Breakfast was adequate but not good. We paid cash for the shuttle but then were also billed for it and still have not got the matter cleared up despite promisses to do so. Did not find desk clerks helpful.

The only advantage of this hotel is its proximity to fiumicino airport(about 7 km)and its very kind and helpful receptionists. poor quality of breakfast, for instance hard boiled eggs cold directly from the fridge, strange taste, colour and mixture to what was supposed to be morning juice.batheroom needs an immediate renovation, blankets old and smells.

BEWARE - False advertising, poor location, very limited shuttle service. The hotel is almost 2 kilometers from both Ostia Antica ruins and train station (and 10k from the airport - check Google maps!) and the only route is a very busy road with no sidewalks or shoulder. The website is blatantly false, and should be charged with false advertising - 800 meters is simply a lie - and staff was unapologetic. The 15 euro shuttle service to the airport is only available at limited times. The alternative is a 35 euro taxi which was late. The location is dismal, next to a busy road and completely isolated from all restaurants and shops. Don't stay here if you intend to walk to the ruins, or the train station! The beef "fillet" for 15 euros was not edible. However, the breakfast was fine, and room 204 is very large and spacious with a large balcony over the courtyard. The city bus service is good (cheap and fast), but buy your bus tickets for both directions at the front desk - we couldn't find anywhere in town to buy our return ticket, as the shops were closed. Tiny TV with poor reception. The ruins are great, but don't stay at this hotel to see them! The ruins are a short walk from the train station so, if you're in Rome, you can come for the day without having to spend a night.

We stayed at this hotel the night before flying back home which was perfect because it is only 10 minutes away from the airport. I wouldn't stay more than 1 or 2 nights. The surrounding area is a little rough. It's a good value for the money for 1 to 2 night stay. A big plus is the fenced in parking lot. Breakfast was plentyfull and offered a varied assortment of pastries, cheeses and ham.

There absolutely no reason to stay at this hotel unless you are catching an early flight out of FCO. We checked in at about 8:00pm and the staff was very rude. The room size was adequate, but the TV did not work and the shower door was broken which caused the bathroom to flood. There is absolutely nothing around the hotel that is within walking distance except a gas station and a banquet hall that sells poor quality food. And by the way the train station is NOT within walking distance to the hotel.

They have a airport shuttle. We paid 50 euro for a cab instead of 15 for the shuttle. Traffic was a nightmare at rush hour. Hotel was exactly what I wanted, a place to sleep waiting for a next day flight. Not fancy at all but a great value. Restaurant was a deal with good selection and quality.

We chose the Ostia Antica Park Hotel because it was a close to the Rome airport and we were needing to fly home the next morning. The staff was very helpful, let us leave our bags in the office until our room was ready. There is a nice little bar in the back which was wonderful to sit outside out in the back lawn area and relax. The city bus ran right outside the hotel which we took to go to the train station so we could go back into Rome for our evening dinner. Very convenient.

A very decent, clean hotel. Simple facilities, but that is not necessarily a criticism. Big Issue: finding it is very difficult; beware that there is an intersection with virtually the same intersection/ street names in Lido di Ostia. The hotel is very near the Roman ruins, and not really near the train station. Check the location very carefully before you go. We had considerable difficultly in finding it and we travel in Italy frequently, AND we speak Italian. Pitiful directions on the hotel website. Don't bother staying here without a car. We came from the airport, and it took us about 1-1/2 hours to find it. Recommended, certainly, but with caveat regarding finding the place.

We picked this hotel because we needed a room for the night to meet our friends who were arriving at Fiumicino on an early morning flight . The price was fair for what was offered, and the location relative to the airport was great because it only took us 15 minutes to get there. However, maybe it's because we had booked on Venere and had gotten a cheaper rate than they normally charge, they had put us in the worst room possible. Our room was at the end of the building next to the road, so the traffic noise was constant. Worse than that, there was an external escape stairway next to our room, the metal rails made a clanging noise all night, like a tram rambling past our room. My husband was really tired so he managed to sleep but I couldn't get any sleep at all. It would probably have been better if we'd stay home, and driven out at 3am in the morning to meet the flight. At least I would have been assured of a couple of hours' sleep in comfort, without having to spend even a single cent. I would probably stay here again if I needed to because of it's location and price. But I'd make sure I don't get room 208 again.

Nice, business type hotel with lots of rooms. We stayed in a double room with bath. The air conditioning unit did not allow us to change the temperature, so it got a bit warm. There was a nice balcony, but not much of a view. There is a spectacular castle down the road and ruins as well. The hotel is really out of the way and not accessible by metro or train. The hotel offers a shuttle service (for a fee) to/from FCO airport, but only in the morning and after 5 pm. The breakfast was the best and most diveres breakfast we had during our stay in Italy. There is a bar and restaurant and the staff are very pleasant. We only stayed one night as we had an early departure the next morning out of FCO.

Staff were very helpful, especially in locating & retrieving our lost luggage (sent to Milan by the airline!!). The perfect place to stay for visiting the Roman Ruins of Ostia Antica - just a short bus ride away (bus tickets from Hotel Reception), with a wonderful Gelateria & good restaurant (Momument) near the Ostia Antica bus stop. Breakfast at the hotel was satisfactory, with enough to fill you up for the day. Restaurant in the evening was fine. Hotel is close to airport, but traffic bad at certain times of day so journey took an hour one day (5.30pm) & 10mins the next time (10am). Hotel Shuttle bus to/from airport only available certain hours. We certainly heard no rumble of case wheels at all hours as reported by other users when many guests stayed because it is close to airport. A large tour group checked in one night but had gone early the next morning. We feel it would be too far away to use as a base for independent travellers exploring Rome itself. It exceeded our expectation.

Very nice hotel that is close to the Rome Airport. Clean & friendly. Restaurant is good but expensive. The web site states that it is only 800 meteres from Ostia Antica ruins, which is not true. It is more like 10 kilometers but there is no side walk and walking is very dangerous due to car traffic on the road to the ruins.

We stayed here because this hotel was cheaper than our usual one "near the airport." Our room was clean and comfortable. Staff were efficient. However, the hotel was impossible to find; traffic is atrocious; and there are no nearby restaurants. But the hotel restaurant served a decent meal and buffet breakfast. The hotel is not truly close to the airport, especially if you have to get there during rush hour.

Hotel was fine, restaurant beside it was never open. Walking into town was dangerous and driving in Ostia was not pleasant. Fine if you are just connecting with the airport, but would not stay if wanting to visit Rome. Breakfast offered a lot of choices. Ruins were a good morning diversion.

We were disappointed that there was an extra charge for the shuttle to the airport, because we thought it was included when we made the reservation. Also the description said the railway station was near the hotel, but after much confusion we found we had to take the metro instead. The metro stop was not near the hotel and there was an extra charge to be picked up at the metro stop. The hotel staff were amiable and the accomodations pleasant.

We only have breakfast at the Ostia Antica. It was the minimum possible: coffe, milk, bread, yogurt, a slice of cheese and ham. Although we had asked for a non-smoking room, that was what we were given. The attendant at reception insisted that the hotel was a non-smoking facility and that there was no other room available, for the hotel was full. We had to sleep with the window open in a room in the first floor.

The place was hard to find. Three roads are parallel (via Ostience, via Del Mare and via Dei Romagnoli). We where not on the good one and ended up about 7-10 km away. The hotel should gives its customer better indications on how to turn at the right place. This is where you want to get it right: http://maps.google.ca/maps?ie=UTF8&oe=UTF-8&hl=en&q=&ll=41.759656,12.304151&spn=0.002345,0.006062&t=h&z=18&om=1 Otherwise, we had a correct stay. The hotel was convenient for getting to the airport via their shuttle. Not too well located without a car. The train(metro) station is much further away than the 800 metres mentioned in the ad.It is walkable but I was happy not to have my luggage with me.The hotel is on a bus route which could have been useful.Rooms are small but clean. The breakfast is good, limited dinner menu but the dishes I chose were tasty. If you are looking for a spot close to the airport this hotel would serve your purpose. The ruins of Ostia are close by and well worth touring.

Map shows hotel near train station. Should indicate huge overpass to cross busy highway; then a brisk 20 min. walk. Arrived on Sunday at 1:00 pm. Hotel shuttle only operates before 9am and after 5pm. Very helpful girl in bar outside station called a local taxi for us. We were 2 female senior citizens who rescued an even older man when our taxi came. Taxi on Sunday could cost 30 euros! We were lucky to get one for 15. We 3 were broke as we were catching early morning planes for Canada and US. Hotel was otherwise very satisfactory and good value for money.

The service was excellent at this hotel. The problem we encountered was also a problem for many others: it is out-of-the-way and difficult to reach. Fortunately for us there was still a taxi available when we arrived at the Ostia Antica Metro Station, but others arriving later were required to walk carrying luggage along the busy road with no sidewalk.

You must not stay here if you don't have a car! The ruins are much farther than described. The staff is most unfriendly. The neighborhood seems a little iffy. The rooms, however, are clean, and it is only a seven or eight minute drive to the ruins and about a twenty minute drive to the airport. The hotel's restaurant was open in March, and it was quite good and authentically Roman, though the waiter was the most arrogant and disdainful we encountered in Italy, which is actually not a place where one routinely encounters such condescending service. Our advice: rent a car at the airport, drive to Ostia Antica to visit the ruin, take the car back, and take the train to your hotel in Rome. Or just take a tour; check out www.contextrome.com for really good ones. If you need to stay near the airport, try the Hilton. We are willing to bet that it has frequent shuttles, not the very infrequent ones provided by the Ostia Antica Park.

Stayed at Ostia Antica Park Hotel overnight (arrived in Civitavecchia off a cruise and flew to Zurich early the next day). Easy transfer from Civitavecchia to Rome (Ostiense station) and then to Ostia (direction Ostia Lido). Arrived in Civitavecchia about 8 a.m. and were in hotel by app. 11 a.m. (cost under 20 euros compared to 240 euros quoted dockside and 100 euros quoted at train station in Civitavecchia to travel by taxi) Bit of an adventure getting to hotel from station. No taxis in sight so off we went with two medium sized suitcases on wheels. It is walkable (contrary to other reports) but not recommended (in agreement with other reports). About 30 minutes along a rather busy road often without even a shoulder to walk on. Room was spacious and clean - appeared to be recently renovated. We asked for a room at the back and at the end (to the right if facing hotel)overlooking "cosy garden" at back of property. We selected this hotel for proximity to airport and site. Worked out well. Could not use hotel shuttle since we had an early departure however hotel arranged for taxi (approximately 30 Euros). Had a wonderful meal at Il Monumento in Piazza Umberto 1 (old section of town to right if arriving from train station, just past second entrance to site). Site is surprisingly large and well worth the visit. Many wonderful mosaics in the numerous baths.

Although the hotel is in the middle of nowhere, and the reception employee has an atitude problem, the quality of the hotel is excellent in relation to the price asked. It was a mercy that I was staying there for one night only prior to leaving Italy, otherwise it would have turned into a nightmare trying to get anywhere from the hotel. Very convenient place to stay if you are flying out the next morning from Fumicino airport while returning a rental car. Very noisy dog barking in neighbors yard from 3am until dawn. Hotel is difficult to get to due to limited access roads. If you miss it or are on the wrong side of the divided road, you will need to drive several km to retrace your route. Proximity to the ruins is exellent, but you do need to drive there as there is no pedestrian walkway we found other than the heavily trafficked roadway. The desk staff was very helpful, the room was fine, tho with 3 adults, it was cramped. I recommend this hotel if you are specifically interested in visiting the ruins of Ostia Antica. Otherwise, alternative accomodations, in a pedestrian or town-like setting would be better.

Ostia Antica Park Hotel is close to both the Leonardo di Vinci Airport and to the Ostia Antica ruins, though certainly not within walking distance. If you are driving, the hotel is a little difficult to reach if you're unfamiliar with the streets. If you are arriving by cab, it will not pose a problem. The hotel provided a perfect jumping off place to stay to catch a flight out the next morning. Though a bit dated, the hotel provided clean adequate service. The staff was extremely helpful and answered any questions we had. We found the hotel restaurant on par with your average hotel dining experience, but seeing we were road weary and didn't feel like getting out again, it was a Godsend. When we departed in the morning, the hotel provided a shuttle service for a small charge. It only took about 15 minutes to reach the Airport. Our only complaint was that the hotel charged 5 Euro for 30-minute Internet usage. This is usually provided free of charge at some hotels.

The staff were helpful with our questions. The area around the hotel is not so nice, but not dangerous as others online have said. I would suggest taking your car to see the ruins at Ostia Antica, because there is not much of a sidewalk along the road. Parking is only 2.5 Euros. The ruins are great, and extensive, so give yourself lots of time to explore. They're as good as Pompei, and I'm surprised that so few people have ever heard of them. The hotel breakfasts were very good. Dinner at the hotel the first night was okay. One problem, they opened the windows for ventilation, and the flies were annoying while eating. There are a couple of very nice and quaint restaurants in town, on the way toward the ruins, near the castle on your left. The room and bathroom were large enough and very clean. The inroom safe was impossible to open, but the room was very secure. A bonus is how close this hotel is to the airport. It made getting to our flight on our morning of departure very easy, and quick. One more note: there are no signs for returning rental cars at the airport, until you get to garages a,b,c,d, so follow those signs (to a,b,c,d) if you are driving a rental.

The hotel was about what I expected. The rooms were comfortable and clean. The people were very friendly. The breakfast was below average. The pastry was cold and the coffee tasted like instant.

The A/C did not work and when we complained, someone came up and reset the electrical. It still did not work but we were told the fan is silent. Fortunately it was not an overly hot night but the poorest night's sleep I had in Italy relative to heat.

The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The room was very spacious and had a nice size bathroom. It was located in more of an industrial park area but was just a 40 minute subway ride outside Rome and only 15-20 minutes away from the airport (the reason why we stayed there our last night). They offer dinner which is good because there aren't any other restraunts in walking distance (we went back into the city of Rome for dinner and to explore our last night). We could not utilize the free shuttle to the airport (another reason we picked this place) because we needed to leave for the airport at 5:30 am to make our 7:30 am flight. The shuttle doesn't run that early. However, they were fantastic in securing us a cab that was prompt and provided greated service. The cab fee was cheaper than getting a cab from inside the city of Rome as the train from Termini to the aiport doesn't start until 6 am and is an hour ride. We would never have made our flight. It was a great place to stay.

I must rate my overall stay as "poor" due to the fact that the airconditioning throughout the hotel was not working. Needless to say, this caused extreme discomfort to me and my elderly parents. No adjustment or compensation was offered for this inconvenience. The hotel is a good choice if one wants to be near FCO for an early flight the following day. It is a quite functional hotel that seems to cater to business people and tour groups. It was a bonus that we were able to park our rental car just by the main entrance in the hotel's lot, at no charge. You did not inquire about the food service. We had an early dinner at the hotel restaurant which was surprisingly good. Breakfast, which was included in the price of the stay, was quite awful. The baked products were stale, the milk was sour, the room itself was overrun by a rambunctious student group, seats at tables were scarce, and coffee and other hot beverages were dispensed from a machine such as one would see in an office snackbar. The staff, despite the situation with the airconditioning, was quite welcoming and accommodating.

This hotel was a bit of a disappointment. While new or recently remodeled, the rooms were very small, rather noisy for a newer hotel. We arrived only to hear noises from both adjoining rooms as well as over head. Since the Ostia Antiqua bills itself as conveniently close to the Rome airport, guests (families and/or busines travelers) can arrive or depart at odd hours, and the noise is a problem. The most upsetting part was the air conditioning, very inadequate. We stayed in June, not even the worst summer months, and the a/c would not come on high. Also, the windwos are sealed shut, and it can be very uncomfortable. (Apparently, there is an override to the system that prevents it to go on high on except for the hotest times. We complained but is was no use.) The hotel was cheap, only 65 EU, perhaps too cheap for summer. I would not stay here again in the summer, too hot and uncomfortable. It barely passes as a three star...

Hotel is nice and modern with high-tech items such as mag room keys and digital thermostats. Reception has electronic monitoring that can even tell if you have an open window. Very convenient location for Fiumicino airport if you have a rental car. There's an enclosed parking area with electric gate and video surveillance. Also, hotel has good buffet breakfast. If you are leaving from the airport, it's worth arriving early enough the day before to spend an afternoon at the Ostia Antica ruins. (Not up to Pompei, but extensive and interesting.) We have stayed at Ostia Antica Park Hotel twice and definitely would return.

La navetta per l'aereoporto era inspiegabilmente indisponibile, ma il portiere si è offerto prontamente di trovare un taxi che alla modica cifra di 50 euro ci ha portato all'aereoporto. una coincidenza???

My third visit to this hotel. I had pre-booked a room with balcony which was not provided on arrival. However, a change was made when I pointed out the request I had made. All aspects of my stay at this hotel have been satisfactory.

Stay here at your own risk. While leaving the property headed towards the airport and on to our home, we had two backpacks stolen from our car which had all of our cameras, a laptop computer and our passports. This was after being assured that the parking area was safe. This experience ruined an otherwise great trip. Many items can be replaced although we will never be able to replace one camera and all of our pictures (1,200+). After filing our report with the local carabinieri, they informed us that the area was known for thefts. Better areas and places to stay.

Upon arriving we found the night manager to be courteous. When we returned downstairs to have a drink, he was very curt not only with us but also with other guests. He would not serve us and was told we had to wait for the bartender who by the way was late. He did not offer to get the beverages for us.

WE WOULD NOT RECOMMEND OSTIA ANTICA PARK HOTEL. Location lousy, service worse, ammenities falsey advertised. We choose this hotel to spend a day at the Ostia Antica ruins and then leave the next morning for the airport. Seemed like a good plan as hotel is near airport and they advertised an airport and ruins shuttle. When we checked in we were told that the airport shuttle did not operate in the early morning so we would have to take a taxi that would charge us from town and double the price for early morning (Cost $40). The staff was unsympathic to misleading us. We then requested the shuttle to take us to the ruins (as advertised). We were told the shuttle driver would not be back until 4:30 (it was 12:30). We protested to no avail. We could not take public transporation to the ruins as there was a bus/train strike. We could not walk as the hotel is located in a commerical district and the road was dangerously narrow with no sidewalks or shoulders and large trucks on it. Front desk employees recommended against taking a taxi due to the cost and said we had to take the shuttle both ways so the driver would know where to pick us. So we were stranded in our room for 4 hours. The hotel resturants were not open. Hotel is in the middle of nowhere so there was nothing around us - except for a small mini mart quite a distance away and a closed resturant next door. We were suppose to be called at 4:30 when the shuttle driver arrive. We were not. Went to the front desk and a different employee told us that the shuttle was not to be available until 6:00 pm. After much protesting by us and several phone calls by the receptionist, he finally agreed to drive us himself. This ruined our day as we arrived at Ostia Antica (expansive ruins) at 5:00. They closed at 6:00. We were allowed to roam grounds until 7:00 but barely saw one fourth of the site. The resturant in the hotel was not open for dinner but the restaurant next door was open but cost was $20 EURO per person

Don't be fooled by the short distance from the airport. It's very difficult to get to by public transportation - a 20 minute bus ride, a 5 minute walk, followed by a short train ride and then another 20 minute walk. A cab, while expensive at 25+ Euros, would have been much easier. After a long, frustrating trek there, I arrived to find that the hotel was overbooked and they had given up my Venere-booked room. While I was able to get them to drive me to another hotel which honored the price, the other hotel had no shuttle to the aiport which was part of my motivation to book this hotel. If you're looking for ease and convenience, this is not the hotel to book.

We had only one night stay, but it was great for us. If you do not have a vehicle, then it is not easy for walking into town (no side walks, only roadway). However, there is a bus pickup very close. We would recommend it for others.

This hotel represents excellent value for money and is near the airport, but not easy to reach without instructions. Taxi drivers wanted 55 euros one way! Call the hotel for their shuttle service - price 10 euros. Failing that, take the Condor bus to Lido di Ossia, then the number 4 bus out to Ossia Antica. The bus stops by the hotel. Bus tickets cost 1 euro and can be bought at the convenience store inside the airport.

The free shuttle service as promised on the website was not at all available - lots of excuses about the driver who did not pitch for work to a broken down bus. All of this incured us a further expense of Euro 55.00. The hotel owner was only willing to give an Euro 10.00 discount, despite all the inconvenience and expense caused by their poor service. On 6 July 2005 the free shuttle service that was previously promised was removed from the website - how convenient! Francois Carstens,Somerset West-Cape Town
