The staff on reception were excellent, really eager to help, they gave us maps with highlighted areas of things to do and places to see, nothing was too much trouble. Good value for money and would recommend. PS we love you Rocco!

Breakfast is good, but you have to reserve it the day before. I couldn't reserve the breakfast time i wanted because people or groups already reserved the same time before me. in practice the staff tried to arrange the situation for me..

The location is amazing as it's located within 2 blocks of termini station which gives you access to train, metro, and airport. The staff recommended restaurants was one of the best places we went to in Roma under 15 euro. Breakfast was also better than expected. Overall, a very good places for budget travelers.

For the price, it's hard to beat. You're right next to the train station and metro stop. The room is spacious and clean, and the service is friendly. The room is a bit noisy due to location. Also, it's not modern, romantic, or posh, but it's better than many alternatives at this price.

For a two star hotel, I was pleased with Hotel Orlanda, especially staff. I was disappointed that the elevator was very small only two people or one person with luggage could use it at one time.

I stayed there with my partner and my parents in mid Oct 2010. Hotel has large rooms and there was a noise from outside that we didn't mind. Funny thing was that you have to book your time for breakfast as there is very small dinning room. Staff is doing what they can, but there was a problem with organising a taxi to take us from airport to the hotel. The hotel offered to book for us taxi and I confirmed it back 3 times but there was no taxi when we arrived. After calling the hotel I was told that there was a problem with taxi company and there is no taxi driver wating for us. I know it was not hotel staff mistake, but at least they could appologize or to give us some discount etc. We had to take some private shuttle bus costing 15Euro each, there was no appology from hotel staff. We also got 2 rooms far away from each other. Despite this misfortune I would recommend this hotel. The lift is very small.

Only two drawbacks, one facing the main street, can be noisy at night. Not sure if they have rooms facing the opposite side. Two, bathroom, is just too small, but the room itself is spacious though. Breakfast is basic but is sufficient. Very near many restaurants, mini markets, laundry and etc. Near to termini too, but a 5 min walk though. Overall, a very good and satisfied stay for the kind of price.

The best points of this hotel is its location, just afew minute-walk from the railway station of Rome. The price with breakfast was reasonable enough. The hotel stuff was very friendly and helpful. We told him that we would like to skip breakfast on the last morning(in the tree-day-stay)because we would have to take an early-morning-train.About half an hour later,he brought a snack and a pack of juice as a next-day-breakfast to our room. The meal was nothing special, but we received something special and warm from him.

The room was a bit noisy, but it was a nice room and very close to the train station. It was easy to get around to all the sites we wanted to see and we found a very nice and very friendly restaurant around the corner. Angelo's is a wonderful place to eat a quick meal. The staff there was great. The staff at the hotel all spoke English so that was very helpful. We would stay again.

Stayed for 3 nights in Sept 2009. Great location close to Termini. Friendly and informative front-desk staff. Purchased Roma pass through them. Great value on museum and unlimited bus/metro. Front-desk very knowledgeable and helped us make reservations too. Free wireless internet. Breakfast was good. Will definitely recommend it to friends.

Excelent location few meters from termini station, train, metro, bus, good and cosy street restaurants. No need for taxi. Excelent accomodation/bathroom and staff. Free wireless net. Excelent breakfast (compared to usual breakfast in italian similar hotels). Best price/quality we ever found in Rome. It is a 2 star but superior to much 3 stars we have been before. Don't worry about the poor entrance look of the building and the tiny elevator. Inside the hotel everything is perfect. Rooms facing the street may be noisy if you leave windows open. With windows closed and air conditioning (5€ extra for the remote)it is OK. They have a very convenient self service refrigerator with drinks at fair prices.

Family of four (mom dad 9yr old girl 7 yr old boy). We loved this hotel, the staff was super helpful, the room was new, clean, big and for 15 extra euros we had air conditioning. All amenities of a bigger name hotel. Worth the money, would stay there again. Breakfast was excellent.

This was the best hotel we stayed at on a budget trip to Europe. This was the most expensive hotel we had for the entire trip and in return turned out to be the best, which just goes to show you get what you pay for. I was especially happy with the staff and breakfast. All staff spoke English, or enough English to get us where we needed to go. The breakfast was ready and available every morning. It is true, breakfast is scheduled each morning, we never had a problem. The food was excellent! Plenty to eat! The street below our room was noisy as people had said, but the noise actually put me to sleep. The air conditioning was turned off after our first day, I assume we would have had to ask how to turn it back on because there weren't any conspicuous buttons. But it was pleasant outside. We just left the window open until bedtime. The neighborhood was safe to walk around at night, but might be disconcerting to some. There is a laundromat/internet-cafe doors down from the hotel, which was very convenient. Great location to several restaraunts and the train station. The grocery store we used was at the train station. We bought snacking food and lunch there daily for very reasonable prices. After a while we became less adventurous for food and just opted to eat the already prepared food from the grocery store because it was cheaper, and delicious. It was very convienient for sight seeing as the bus station is at the termini train station. This hotel was everything I expected and MUCH MORE!

The room is very tall, but the smells of old buildings and kichtens of restaurants nearby are not enjoyable. However, all the employees are very polite and helpful and the hotel is so close to Termini Rail Station, that we only spent 3-5 minutes to catch the train by walking.

We travelled with 2 older children and found that the quadruple room was spacious and very clean. The hotel is a 2 minute walk from Termini Station which is perfect for getting on the metro (subway). There are many convenience stores close by with fresh fruit, bread and groceries (reasonable prices). If you are physically disabled in any way, avoid this hotel. The small elevator is very narrow (it will not accomodate a wheelchair) and there are no ramps (typical of Rome). The continental breakfast was good and the kitchen employee was friendly who kept the shelves well stocked. I would recommend this hotel to all of my budget conscious friends - we will go back!

Our stay at Orlanda was very good we had a family room for 4 people on the 5th floor it was a great big spacious room for us. Location was excellent only a bit dodgy be very aware of your bags and wallets. My husband came close to being pickpocketed by a homeless old women on our arrival walking from the station. Breakfast is not great we had better breakfasts at other hotels, but there is a lot little cafes in the area were you can get a good coffee and any thing else you want. The hotel staff a very helpful and pleasant, the breakfast staff tend to be a bit grumpy and a smile wouldn't go astray. But we enjoyed our 3 day stay at Orlando and would stay here again.

Hotel is in the same building and is sharing the entrance with a bunch of other hotels. It's actually occupying the 3rd floor of the building so you need to pay attention to the signs on the building when looking for it for the 1st time. Our room was spacious, clean, furnished with newer furniture. Looked out on some kind of a service alley which wasn't at all bad. It actually lowered the city noise a bit. Hotel staff spoke good English, was helpful, gave us pointers on what places to visit and how to move around. Speaking of which, the location of the hotel relative to Termini train station simply can't be beat - it's a 5 min walk away. And since Termini doubles up as a Metro station using it is a breeze. It's also a 20 min walk away from the Colosseum. Neighborhood, even at night, did not feel unsafe at any point. Breakfast, although not the most plentiful, was sufficient to start off the day - yogurt, cereal, croissants, fruit jams, variations of coffee, tea. Due to limited # of seats, they ask you to reserve the 30 min window for it the next morning. Make sure to plan your time as you can't just come in and sit down any time you want. Overall, we would definitely stay here again.

I have stayed at Orlanda numerous times now--it's really my Roman home-away-from-home. Although I originally chose the hotel for budgetary reasons I now consider it an integral part of my visits to Rome. I like the rooms but most of all it's the friendly and welcoming people, like Marco and Paolo and Michele. Orlanda is a great value.

We had no complaints about our relatively inexpensive room right by the train station and the metro lines. We had to leave before breakfast the last day, so they brought us a portable breakfast the night before. There was no coffee available in the hotel except in the breakfast room--we were told the espresso machine was too noisy to turn on. There were excellent places to eat very close by.

We spent a few nights here in October 07, during the half term holidays. It was the first time we have stayed close to the station, as we thought it would be noisy, but this was a good price for a family room so we thought we would try it. The hotel is easy to find, a short walk from the station. Some of the side streets looked a bit seedy but no one ever bothered us. We walked everywhere from the hotel, it is about a 10 minute stroll to the Forum. It is worth noting that while the hotel occupies 2 upper floors of an old pallazo, there is CCTV at the main building entrance, at reception and at the door to the 6th floor rooms. Guests identify themselves at the intercom before they are admitted. There is a small lift, with room for 2 plus a case, but you should remember that this is a very old building with little space to add the new mod cons the more luxurious hotels offer. Our room was spacious, with plenty of floor space for suitcases, and a clean, well supplied bathroom. The double glazing kept out most of the traffic noise, but bear in mind the hotel is in a busy area, we heard plenty of sirens and horns. Take earplugs if you are a light sleeper. The breakfast room is too small to accomodate all guests at once, so to combat problems they ask you to book a time slot so you are sure you will get a table. The lady serving breakfast seemed a little grumpy sometimes with 'lingerers', but I imagine it is difficult if you have someone waiting for a table that the previous occupant won't leave. We tried our italian on her and she was much more friendly. Breakfast was a selection of super-fresh pastries from a local baker, bread, couple of types of cereal, juice concentrate, tea and chicory coffee. We stopped for proper coffee at a bar on our way out every morning.

The hotel is nice, staff is really helpful and kind (speaks english well enough to communicate smoothly). Unfortunately the rooms are not quiet enough at the night - good for a few days city-visit, but would not live in such a noise... Good starting point for sightseeing, as metro lines and objects to see are near enough as well as Termini train station. In fact, with no walk problems you can reach all major things on foot in the centre from this hotel.

Ideally located close to the Termini. Has excellent breakfasts however make sure you arrive at your nominated time as the breakfast room is small. Stayed in both a 5th floor room (excellent) and a 3rd floor room which was noisy because of traffic and foyer noise. Easy walk to many locations or by catching the bus at the Termini. Staff extremely helful and knowledgeable which made our two stays there very enjoyable.

We spent our last night in Italy at Orlanda, so it was convenient to the train in the morning to get to the airport. Its a bit of a hassle to get to the rooms, as the reception is on 3rd floor, rooms on 5th with a tiny elevator. The window looked over an ugly courtyard. However, the room was clean and the staff accomodating, giving us our breakfast to-go as we had to leave early.

Location is convenient to the termini. Teh car they called for us to go to the airport was a bit pricey. Location is great for train access and wandering a bit, it is a kind of downtown kind of area, more low-end shops, fairly easy access to other sites by taxi. Hotel was comfortable, no-frill - but a good night's sleep with helpful staff. It is off a busy street, but most noise is blocked out by the windows.

Hello....a group of students from my college stayed in this hotel in January. There was no problem with the hotel, but when the charges came in there was a 150 Euro charge from an Albergo Georgina in the same building. This charge was NEVER authorized or signed for. What is this for? Before I protest to Visa I want to communicate with you. We have used Venere for many years now with complete satisfaction. This is the first problem we have ever encountered. We stayed at Orlanda for five nights over New Years. The staff was very accommodating and spoke English. Our room was on the 5th floor street side, so it would have been really noisy if the windows had been open. I think this is typical of most rooms in this section of Rome. We chose this hotel due to other comments on the website, which were very accurate. It is very close to the Terminal Station, and we walked from the station to the hotel and back the next morning. During the day, the location was OK, but the area got loud and rough at night. We went to dinner next door so that we didn't have to do a lot of walking at night. Front desk staff was very helpful, with recommendations for the best pizza in town. The hotel starts on the 3rd floor, so the lift was necessary for our guests; one of the reasons we chose this location. We would stay again, although we would love to see the price drop!

Convenient 2 blocks from the Termini train station and walking distance from major attractions. 3rd floor check-in desk and a lot of street noise if window was open. Room larger than most European rooms we encountered. Very friendly helpful staff. Won't make room reservation with credit card over the phone which was very inconvenient for a later stay on the way back home.

It was fine for the price, but ask for a room over the courtyard (rather than the street) and if you are in one of the rooms that open directly off reception, don't expect to get much sleep. The breakfast was ordinary - avoid the chemically re-constituted orange juice at all costs. But this was better than expected, given the price - much better. Clean and hospitable, english speaking, and kept our bags for us after checkout (stacked in a corner of reception!) We'd stay there again (but would probably take ear plugs)

The hotel Orlanda is on the third floor, which isn't a problem because there is a small lift. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. They gave us a guide to Rome and asked if we wanted any information. Our room and ensuite was large and clean. The breakfast room was on the next level. The Hotel Orlanda is very close to the Termini. We were able to walk to and from the station. There are many good restaurants in the area. But the best would be the staff. They were all so friendly and obliging. We would definitely stay there again. For a 2 star hotel, it was better than some of the 3 star hotels we stayed at.

My husband and I needed a place to stay close to Termini station. The Hotel Orlando was a great choice for that. Even though, it was not quiet outside (you get so tired from walking and scienery that you do not mind the noise) and the hotel was located only on the 3rd floor of the building, it was comfortable, it had an elevator, the bath room was inside of the room and the staff could speak English. The staf was very friendly and helpful with directions. I recommend this hotel to young people, who are not too pickie. It is a great hotel to stay in Rome if you are planning to be there for a few nights. When we will return to Rome we will definetelly are going to stay in Orlando.

This hotel is nothing like it adverties. The lift is horribly small, the reservation desk in on the 3rd floor (we had to take the lift in two trips since they were working on repairing all the stairs) then you get your room and have to talk the lift (again in two trips with luggage) to the 5th floor. EXTREMELY noisy in the mornings...terrible location..would NEVER recommend this hotel to anyone since there were others much much better which were even at a lower cost. DO NOT STAY here or you will regret going to ROME.

The Hotel is very close to the main train station in Rome. It is located in an old building, you have to take an old elevator to the floor of the hotel. Overall we were pleasantly surprised by the spaciousness of the room, our shared bathrooms (2) were located just outside our door across the hall. The breakfast room was very nice and the selection of items more than adequate. Overall the hotel provided exactly the services advertised and a rate that was affordable. We would stay here again.

We had a great stay. The best thing about Orlanda was the helpful staffs. They gave us maps, guide books, recommondations, search for train schedules, etc. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. Great value for the price.

Very nice place to stay but no lounge, bar or anywhere to socialise or sit other than your room. Breakfast is on another floor but this was not a problem. Staff very friendly and all spoke good English which was very helpful!

If you get what you pay for, then the Orlanda is very good value. It was very much as outlined in the the Venere.com web page. The welcome and service from reception staff was excellent, the directions, maps and guidebook were helpful. The change of bedding and towels every day was welcome. If there was one concern it was the small size of the shower cubicle, for those of us with a wider girth! The hotel is central, very close to Termini, with shops and cafe's around. We can recommend Trattoria Angelo around the corner which like the Hotel Orlanda offers an excellent service at a reasonable cost. We will use both WHEN we return to the Eternal City. Termini area is not great, especially at night when you start seeing beggers and peolpe living in front of shop entrances. The prostituates tend to hang around certain shops too. A two star hotel in Rome is quite an experience. You first come into a bare entrance area where a small lift takes you to the 3rd floor where you find the reception of you hotel mixed with room belonging to another hotel. It was a bit confusingly disappointed at the beginning, but once you were inside the actual hotel area everythig brightens up. The rooms were spacious and clean. The service was friendly and welcoming. Orlanda was a nice expericene and would definitely consider staying there again.

Easy to find from the train station, and good location to tour Rome. The check-in process was quite lenghtly and the area provided for check-in was small and only allowed two people. Some members of our party of four had to wait outside, and were unable to speak to the staff or ask questions. Staff was very indifferent to our stay and failed to explain a lot of important information, such as how to activate the power source in the rooms, and check out time. Had to pre-schedule breakfast time because breakfast room only seated 10-12 guests. Would only stay at this hotel again if spending one night in Rome

Room is very clean. Not far away from train station and metro station. So it is very convenience to visit most Roma's attraction. One defect is quite difficult to find it because it locates in a building with many hotels in there.Overall it is very good to stay.

There are lots of dives around Termini - this isn't one of them. This might be the best bargain in Italy.

A hotel sharing a building with other properties presents an unusual entry to the hotel lobby, but all other aspects of the Orlanda were excellent. I was surprised with the spaciousness of our room. The security of the building entrance and hallways was very good. The location was great. This would be my choice for another visit to Rome.

The hotel is just a couple of blocks from the termini train station which makes it a good home base if you are planning trips outside of rome via train.the hotel location is close to a variety of restaurants and walking distance to tourist sites in rome.the rooms are clean and spacious.there is a free breakfast every morning which is enough to get you going in the morning before you start your sightseeing.

It's a perfect place to stay when you are on a short visit to Rome. Close to 'Termini' -the major rail station and a lot of restaurants around.

We had a very nice stay at the Orlanda. The location of the hotel and proximity to the train station and main attractions was outstanding. We liked the breakfast. Since our group included two boys (ages 8 and 10) we were particularly happy to have a laundromat downstairs, although the "colorful" street life outside the laundromat made for some interesting discussions about cross dressing male prostitutes. The room was large and clean, as was the bathroom. We could not have asked for more. I would definitely stay there again.

Despite its otward apperance, this is a very nice hotel. one of the few in italy which actually had air conditioning, although they charge you extra for it (why they don't just include it in the cost of the room during summer months I don't know). It is very near the train station (3 minute walk) and not far from the colloseum and other central cites. since it is close to the train station this also means it is close to a metro station which means everything is easily reachable. the neighborhood is not the greatest, but the hotel is very secure (have to buzz in every time to get to the hotel). overall a great value compared to other hotels. (we had a double and a triple room... traveling with the in-laws). oh, but breakfast was nothing to write home about, but in italy I recomend trying the local pastry shops anyway.

At Hotel Orlanda I enjoyed a pleasant stay, the staff were very friendly and welcoming and all spoke english. The room itself was spacious, clean and had everything described on the website. The location of the hotel was good, it was very close to the termini station and sights. I definatly recommend this hotel to those who wish to stay in a budget hotel but not comprimise on quality, the only downfall is the hotel is on quite a busy road so it is still noisy at night sometimes.

The Hotel Orlanda is two streets from Termini, ostensibly in an area guide books describe as unsafe at night. The authors should stay at home! The area was great offering pavement cafes across the street from the hotel with very welcoming staff and reasonably priced cuisine. The hotel staff were all helpful and the accommodation comfortable and clean.
