It was first time to visit Rome. The reception gave me some useful infomation about Rome. Location, reception, room, breakfast, all good. One thing about the train station. If you go to the center of Rome or the airport between 7 to 8 on weekday, I recommand you take a taxi. Italian train doesn't always come on time, also rush-hour between 7 to 8. It was a disaster.

This B&B Octavia hotel is located in the suburbs it takes about 15 min to get to Rome central using the FM3 train. The room was clean, quiet, staff was friendly and spoke english.

The room is good and spacious. The people there is friendly. The hotel is far from city center. It is close to train station, but the interval of trains on Sunday is 30 minutes!

They hardly speak english, everyday the same breakfast, apart from milk and a small yogurt, only sweets. When we arrived the refrigerator was not in the room but to the workman... they didn't mentioned anything but only after we asked... they didn't suggest a solution and we said we don't have a glass of cold water they said nothing... We arrived on the 15th of May,we had the refrigerator back to the room on the 18th without working and on the 21th we had a refrigarator that was finally working because we had to mention it,we were leaving on the 23th,every time they told us oh! it doesn't working???... and finally after we got into a fight they told us that you have all the comfort and you are stucked with this!!! Where else in Italy would you find a hotel with this price and all the comfort offered??? You know, we didn't get there for free and after all we choose a bedroom with a refrigerator for a specific reason. Thank got that we had a toilet and we didn't had to pee in the garden... Where else in Italy would we find a hotel with a toilet??? It's all about bad competence of the employees and not being interested in finding a solution.

Octavia Hotel was a correct choice for us, price is a very good for Rome, clean & quiet. Easy accres to the train (5-10 minutes), no noise from the train, easy to reach a center in a 30-40 minutes. A breakfast not so bad for Italy, english speaking reception. Good place for stay for a budget travel.

Employees are very kind and helped us a lot in a couple of situations. Right out of the hotel, you can find the sub-urban train FM3 that goes straight to Rome center, where you can then move with the tube. As in any huge city, going back late at night with the public service might not be safe; at night, we preferred to take a taxi: the cheapest start point is S.Peter's place (12 euros)

Clogged sink, broken shower door, not enough toilet paper, bad breakfast... but the ugliest thing - when we asked to order a taxi to the airport, the receptionist called for some friend or relative who charged us 10 euros more than the regular price.

We found the property to be extremely clean and nice. The staff, whilst not fluent in English, DID speak more English than the usual Romans we met. The breakfast was good, the staff most accomodating and they made our stay in Rome very pleasant. NOTE: this hotel is within one block walking to the regional train, and then a few metres walk to change from the regional line to the Metro. VERY convenient for those who want to stay outside the city centre (considered noisy by most and more expensive). The pizzeria, near the train station, Stationzone, was VERY good and reasonable. The rooms are well soundproofed and we found ourselves at times speaking loudly over the TV and the echo of the room!!!! Our only disappointment with Rome was that a couple of times, one by the Coliseum ticket office, we found ourselves short changed when vendors made change to us.

The hotel met our expectation for the price we paid. It was clean and sufficient. The front desk staff did their best to accomodate. Breakfast was good. Shower a bit too small. We initially had a hard time finding the place as we drove by car. The hotel's street can not be found on GPS or Internet direction finders. (I suggest that the owners add the nearest cross street to the address on the site as a point of reference). We left the car at the hotel and used the train thereafter, access to which is good. There is also a bus stop near the hotel , however, I highly recommend that you plan your day so you can catch the train back. We missed the train hours and had a terrible expreience trying to get back to the hotel by bus. The most convenient bus line from the city center to the hotel doesn't start running till after midnight.

Good location near train station, but still 30 minutes travel time to Rome Termini on a crowded train. It's worth a few extra Euros to stay closer to town. In house restaurant not very good. House wine was awful & meat was tough & tasteless. Vegetables were very good, though. At 22 Euro, meal was not a good value; however, it was the only restaurant within reasonable walking distance.

Very good hotel. Good and clean room with a balcony where you have a nice view, very good shower, excellent breakfast, very quiet area. One thing could be better: the nice and lovely lady in the reception doesn't speak english, which made things a little bit complicated, but ok. The location of the hotel is not in the city center, but you can reach it in about 30min from the hotel taking the metro.

Overall the stay was good. Our major issues were that you could hear people in the next room or in the hallways very easily. Breakfast was good (normal continental breakfast) except that it was not prepared one morning for some reason. The staff were very nice, although they spoke little English. Location was another small issue as the commuter train out of Rome to the Octavia station stops around 10 or 11, so you cannot spend a late night in the city without getting a taxi. The staff does not offer specifics of train schedule, so be sure and check for yourself. Also, the train does not start until 7 AM, so be sure to schedule your departing flight in the late morning if you want to take the train to the airport. The shower did not drain and if you like very hot showers, this might not be the hotel for you.
