This hotel was perfect. We are a family of five and our room suited us fine. Plenty of space and storage. The room was recently renovated so was brand new. The hotel is basically next door to all the ruins so easy to walk to everything. There are restaurants close too. The service was impeccable. Sally was outstanding and is a credit to the hotel. I only marked down on the public areas because the dining room and reception areas were small, and it would been nice to have Wifi in the rooms. However we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay. Well priced, great breakfast and real coffee (and great hot chocolate say the kids). Would definitely stay again and highly recommend. Hotel is in an excellent location for walking Rome! Breakfast was great every morning. Only downside for me was the ridiculously small shower.

The attention received at the hotel was very good, in the heart of Rome. We liked sleeping next to monuments with many years of history.

Perfect location. Room and bathroom very clean with good facilities. Staff were incredibly efficient, friendly and helpful. Breakfast was value for money and served with a smile. If we were really pressed to find fault it would be that the bathroom was quite small, but it was fine for a short stay.

This hotel has a great location. Only 10 min. walk to the colosseum. The staff were great and very helpful. The only part we didn't like about our stay was the size of the room. It is very similar to the size of a room on a cruise ship. The only place to sit, is on the bed. The shower was the smallest I have ever seen. Approx. 2'x 2'. The air conditioning did not work very well. We had to ask at the front desk everytime we got back to our room for them to turn it on for us. Fortunatly the weather was cool enough that we could open the windows. If the size of the room does not matter, than I would recommend this hotel.

This hotel had a great location, was clean and quiet, had great air conditioning. We could hear the bathroom activities of the room next to ours, though. This did not affect our stay. Shower was painfully small, and I'm not fussy about this type of feature. Professional yet relaxed service. Kind and helpful. And in a great location if you want to be in a calm street near forum, et cetera. I've been to Rome six times. This was a good price-value ratio (for Rome), though a little far from those lovely small windy streets in the Partheon section of town that I always seem attracted to wandering.

Room, especially the bathroom, was small. Easy to hear neighbor's conversations. Hotel staff very nice and helpful. Was a little difficult taking our bags over the cobblestones and up the hill to the room. Location was excellent.

VERY small room, even smaller than expected. Shower was only 2' square. Expected this side street to be quiet, but it was very busy all hours of the day and night. Day staff was very good, friendly, helpful. Breakfast was good, served in a very small room, not always enough seats. Location is excellent, near Forum. Hard to reach on foot with luggage, as it's about a 10 minute walk down a busy cobblestone street, and hotel is tucked away on a side street and hard to find.

We were a group of 6 friends who stayed at the Nerva Hotel for 48 hours. The location is fantastic and perfect for if you're in Rome for a short visit and want to be within walking distance of the colosseum and forum. The hotel and rooms are all quite small but fine for 3 stars. Reception staff were lovely and helpful. Its expensive but every hotel is in Rome!

Large room and private bath (for Italy). Breakfast is reasonable for Europe with personal service instead of buffet. Wifi only in common areas. Staff was very friendly but not particularly helpful with tourist questions. Location is excellent for seeing sites in Rome. I walked to most major sites (Trevi fountain, parthenon, colosseum) or took the metro. The hotel is a pleasant 10-minute walk from the Cavour metro station. Suggest walking from Metro using via Leonina instead of via Cavour as this is less crowded and makes it easier to find the hotel. Great location for hotel is offset slightly by having to walk on a narrow street with no sidewalks and a fair amount of traffic. Overall this was a good selection for a tourist

My second stay in Hotel Nerva. Family operated which is a plus since they are all friendly and helpful. Very good location, right at the Forum and lots of restaurants around to eat. Can walk to a lot of sites... Forum, Colosseum, Trevi Fountain, Spanish Steps, Pantheon are 5-15mins walk.

The Nerva is a friendly and very conveniently located hotel. The rooms are small but well equipped and you begin the day with an excellent breakfast! I don't think it would suit a very large or tall person but its central location makes it a good pied à terre for a few days.

The perfect hotel to explore Rome from.Situated off a main street but in the heart of the historic part of the city, near the Forum and the Colosseum. Transport to and from the hotel was also easy, with nearby bus routes. Alberto and his wife Nella made my stay very comfortable. I will definitely stay there again.

We loved our stay at the Hotel Nerva in Rome. This 3-star hotel should be qualified as 4-star! The only problem we encountered was with the shower "water pressure" at times. Otherwise, every aspect of our stay was excellent. You must choose "room w/ breakfast". If you choose "room only" you are missing a treat! The breakfast was excellent... fresh fruit, sweet breads, meat/cheese and the best espresso or cafe' around! This is the typical European breakfast. The family members that own Hotel Nerva were very friendly and helpful at every turn. Hotel Nerva is one of the best kept secrets in all of Rome!

I couldn't have asked for a better location or friendlier staff. The restaurant recommendation was superb (later found the same restaurant in Food & Wine magazine as a must try establishment). I gave the public areas an 8 only because they are too small for all the guests to eat breakfast at the same time, but the staff worked around this well. The rooms are small, but they are well worth the rate. I'll stay here again.

Sympathetic hotel in a very central location (e.g. near the Forum Romanum, the Colosseum, the important sights in the city center). Friendly staff and good service (though I didn't like the very minimalistic breakfast).

Hotel Nerva is a very nice hotel, with a very friendly staff. We had a problem with Ryanair and they help us to find a solution. We liked traveling to Pompei and we could do this trip with their information. Breakfast is good. Our room was a bit small. The bathroom too.The hotel has a fantastic situation, next to the ruins, behind the Foro and you can go on foot everywhere.

Stayed at the Nerva hotel in April for three days. Outstanding central location! Five minutes walk to the Colosseum and directly opposite the Forum. Trevi Fountain and Pantheon also quite close by. Excellent staff, very helpful, and lovely welcome on arrival. Breakfast room is a bit small but that wasn't a problem. Will definitely stay here again.

This was the first time staying there---perfect location and very friendly staff. The only negative, if you can even qualify it as a negative, was that the bathroom was a tight fit but what can one expect in an old, old building? We didn't opt for breakfast so I can't judge the quality of the food.

The staff is very kind and attentive. The room is very small and the shower less than a phone cabin. At the same time everything is clean and quiet. You are in the town center close to all turistic attractions. The price we paid (60 euros without breakfast) is really a nice price. Prices listed on the door were quite different (3x) and I am not sure I would like to pay that price for that room. Anyway we paid for the breakfast and we were not disappointed by the continental breakfast offered. There are good chances that I will go back there or suggest this hotel to others.

Fantastic! This hotel is owned by a very nice family. It is ideally located. Our triple room was not very spacious but clean and quiet. We would recommend Hotel Nerva for couples with or without children, willing to visit rome by foot. Free street parking upon request (in front of the hotel!!!). Excellent breakfast.

This place was very modern compared to our hotel in Venice. The same kind of bathroom but not quite as rustic as some of the other Italian hotels we stayed at. The people were very nice, breakfast was fancy! Not self-serve, they brought you your food and made coffee however you wanted it (espresso, cappuccino, etc.). The location was perfect, right by the Coliseum and close to the metro. The staff were very friendly and gave us several maps with little highlighted routes to places we were trying to get to. We would definitely stay here again! Our room had a view of some structure that looked to be very, very old. Cool! It wasn't too noisy because it was off on a side street although that side street had no sidewalks so you had to be careful of the crazy cars and vespas.
