Hotel is OK. Room clean if a bit small. Clean bathroom with toilet and shower. Breakfast (buffet) with bread, cereals and pastries orange juice and coffee (instant machines). Hotel surroundings quiet (ministries, embassies) well served. Near the center and the metro. It's a real hotel and not a B & B or hostel. WiFi in the lobby only. Hotel très correct. Chambre propre bien qu'un peu petite. Salle de bain propre avec wc et douche. Petit déjeuner copieux (buffet à volonté) avec pain, céréales et viennoiseries jus d'orange et café (machines pour instantanés). Quartier assez calme (ministères, ambassades) bien desservi. Proche du centre et du metro. C'est un vrai hotel et pas un B&B ou une pension. WiFi dans le hall seulement.

Ideal location, very close to Stazione Termini and with many points of interest a reasonably short walk away (we walked to Piazza di Spagna, Colosseo, Fontana di Trevi, Campo dei Fiori, the Jewish Ghetto). Perfect if you want to stay in a central location without spending a fortune. Nardizzi Americana is nothing grand, but it is clean and excellent value for a 2 star hotel. Common areas are smallish but cosy. Continental breakfast is served on the terrace. Free internet in the common area and free safe in your room. All the members of staff were friendly and helpful.

Overall, The room was the biggest of my trip. Room was good size and bathroom was big, clean and up-to-date (even by American Standards). The tv only featured three channels (cnn, BBC and some German station). The hotel is located on the 4th floor and my room was a walkdown 2 flights of stairs. Little tough with luggage. Breakfast was adequate and there is a computer available to go online and check your email (no charge). Hotel is fine if you are a single traveler and want the basics. The main train station is a ten minute walk. The Republica metro station is a 3 minute walk with the vatican only 5 stops away. Most main sites can be reached in 15-20 minute walk. The area is on one of the main streets and features plenty of restaurants and some clothing stores. Some good men's suit bargains even with the us/euro exchange rate.

This hotel turned out to be quite a nice surprise! It was the first time to Rome, and was a little hesitant, but what an enjoyable experience! the hotel was a little difficult to find for the first time, but after that everything was excellent. breakfast was adequate, the common area was great to relax and have drinks with other hotel guests!! we met some great folks there!! the rooms were nice & spacious and clean. I travel alot and stay in hotels all the time, and i can honestly say that I would definitely stay at this hotel again. the location is excellent near the piazza republica & walking distance to many attractions. great value for the price!

Well located and comfortable hotel with friendly and helpful staff. We stayed there on the recommendation of a friend who uses it regularly as a base for art student groups. While we were very happy with the hotel we would prefer to stay nearer Roma Termini as we tend to stay in Rome overnight en route to our home in Umbria.

Great location, unbelievably kind staff, renovated rooms, free internet! I planned to stay at Hotel Nardizzi for one night and then get out of Rome. Unfortunately, I was pickpocketed at Termini (don't feel dumb for using a money belt at Termini-I'm a very experienced traveller and I got duped) on my way to Siena. I went back to the hotel, knowing that their kind staff would allow me to use the internet and cancel my cards, etc. They were amazing! So sympathetic and kind. They allowed me to stay there that night, even though they knew at the time I had no money. They checked up on me, did what they could to help me with cancelling my Siena reservation, gave me a great rate on the room that I ended up needing for the week while waiting for replacement credit cards, and so much more. I just can't say enough about how kind the staff is at this hotel. The first night I was in the older portion of the hotel. It was clean and nice, but a little on the noisy side with a busy street not far away. In the newly renovated side, the rooms are lovely. The air conditioners rumble a little, but they drown out whatever courtyard noise there is. I'm a light sleeper and had no trouble sleeping with air con on and my earplugs. Breakfast is not gourmet, but is certainly enough to get your day started. The stairs are numerous, but that's what justified the gelato in my mind... There is an elevator, but it's old and tiny. However, before you drag your suitcase up 6 flights of beautiful marble stairs, walk straight down the hallway from the main doors and look on your left halfway down. It's not obvious where the lift is when you arrive, but it's there! Rome can wear you down-you do have to be on your guard and deal with the grit and heat and traffic. It's nice to come back to a hotel with staff who care and have your own little oasis. Everything is easily accessible from Nardizzi and Via Firenze is a nice, calm find in the middle of busy Rome!

Our third visit to Rome: Very pleasant terrace area for adequate breakfast, free internet access, and afternoon wine service. 15 minute walk from Termini station. Very close to Santa Maria della Vittoria where one finds Bernini's Ecstasy of St. Teresa. Good value for location, cleanliness, and price.

A well located hotel near to Termini station and Republicca metro. Cafes and bars also close by. Rooms are fine okay for the amount you pay. Only downside were the staff, not exactly the most welcoming in the world, this makes a big difference especially when 99% of their customers are tourists.

Albergo raccomandabile.

The staff was very helpful. They gave directions to local attractions, maps, and suggestions of places to eat. A taxi was called for us the morning of our departure and the service of the taxi they called was very professional. The hotel also has FREE internet service for their guest which was great after paying 8-12 Euros for 10 minutes! Breakfast was included in the price. The meal was just perfect for our needs and the ambiance of the outdoor patio was really great!

I think the worst thing was that the hotel was on the fourth floor, but to get to our room you had to go back down another staircase to the second floor which could not be accessed directly from the outside. We asked for a room with a bath as quoted and got a pokey shower room. Double bed was two camp beds pushed together, and if you sat on the end of them they tipped up. We cancelled our last night and moved to the hotel on the floor below. (Hotel Oceania) This was altogether a much better establishment, and much more helpful and welcoming.

Overall - a fantastic stay here. However, upon check-in, we didn't get a really warm welcome and our shower drain was completly plugged. Instead of moving us to a different room, we were allowed to shower in a different room (a bit odd). However, the drain was fixed by the next day. Staff members were helpful and kind, hotel in secure area not far from Roma Termini, but a good walk from city sites. Wear your "good" shoes for the 4-story climb, or be prepared to cram into a small lift! Well recommended hotel!

The hotel is very well located beetween the railway station "Termini" and the city center. For exemple, you can join "Piazzia di Spagna" or the Trevi fountain in only 10 minutes by foot. People, in this hotel, are very friendly, they give you a lot of informations about the city.

For the money, this is a quality place to stay. Remember that you are not going to get 4 star service for 1 star price. Yes, rooms are small but Rome is not in your room. The front desk is manned 24hrs day. You leave your keys with the front desk when you leave so you don't have to worry about carrying it around. We would return again.

The hotel is okay BUT the rooms are very noisy. You can hear people walking to their rooms. The doors are not fire doors so they are not thick enough to block noise. The shower head was blocked and the water pressure was terrible. What the hotel claims is a breakfast was poor and barely any choice. The place has potential but I would not stay there again.

The hotel interior looked great, and our room was the best we have had in Rome. There were only two things that we weren't sure of.. the first was that it was pretty noisy. There was no street noise, but when other hotel guests were arriving (after a long night of drinking, apparently,) it sounded like they were in our room. The second was that the common areas smelled of cigarette smoke in the morning, and it sometimes drifted into our room. I have to say, though, that the staff was incredibly friendly and went out of their way to help us enjoy Rome.

We had to book last minute...the rate of 155e for a double with bath was more than we liked, but the location was good. Venere's map is wrong: the hotel is at the intersection of Via XX Septembre and Ria Firenze, a few blocks north of where Venere's map points. This makes it closer to Quirinale and Trevi Fountain but more distant from the Metro (Repubblia). There's a helpful shopping galleria in the next block NE of Via Firenze, where we picked up a spare electrical adaptor. Room smelled of ammonia when we arrived but aired out. The window faced Via XX Septembre...it was noisy with the window open but quiet enough when closed. The sliding windows were balky (off tracks). Breakfast was OK, but the espresso (out of a machine) was poor. Breakfast room was light and nice. Tables are a bit crowded together. The elevator is very small and slow but a better choice than going up five flights! There are better values in the area if you book ahead more than we did (the day before), but we were grateful for the availability and location on our last day in Italy.

My husband and I know that you will have a fabulous time at the Hotel Nardizzi. Our room was lovely...newly renovated with a spotless bathroom and shower. The hotel is conveniently located close to bus, subway, and train transportation. Being just steps away from fantastic restaurants and sites, this is a sure bet for your visit to Rome! Enjoy!!

Very clean and newly refurbished (or even rebuilt)rooms, albeit a bit cold due to problems with the new AC system (and the season - end of March). Welcoming, helpful and relaxed staff; breakfast was standard continental (coffee + bread&jam + croissant). Not the hotel you spend entire days in, ordering wine via room service (even though it actually is possible) but nevertheless a very good base camp for the Rome explorer.

Mostly good, but a few problems. We specifically requested a quiet room (there are some rooms that face onto an inner courtyard rather than onto the street) but they ignored this and gave us a room overlooking the very busy main road. The room has large single-glazed windows which don't close properly. It turns out that the inner rooms are mostly very small; but they never told us this. The other problem was that they did not communicate with us at all before we arrived. Venere's confirmation page says that the booking is not confirmed until we receive confirmation from the hotel itself. The result was that when we arrived (late in the evening) we had no idea whether they had actually received our booking or not. How difficult would it have been to send an email confirming the reservation? This reflected the generally lackadaisical attitude of the staff - they were generally competent but did not seem keen to offer more than a basic minimum level of service. Oh, and the breakfast was poor. Sweetened pastries, stewed coffee and chemically enhanced juice. But it's not compulsory, and there's a good cafe just down the road.

We found the staff very friendly and helpful. The location was convenient to most attractions. We had a room facing the inner courtyard that was very quiet. The breakfast was typical but good. They bring your breakfast to your room if you request it. They have a lift that is necessary when bringing luggage. Would definitely recommend staying here, as we plan to on any return trips. Wish the price was a little cheaper.

I really can not say anything bad about the Nardizzi. Everything was great, A little off on the directions... more of a walk than the map shows from the train station. But it was safe and friendly and fun.
