Very good hotel at a convenient location (2 metro stations from Termini station, Manzoni metro station in front of the hotel, and 15-minute walk to the Coliseum). Rome hotels are overpriced, so even when this hotel was not cheap, it was very good in comparison to others. Friendly and helpful staff. Excellent breakfast.

We would highly recommend Hotel Milton Roma to any Couple. The double room was great with washroom and very clean, The location of the Hotel is just outside the Mazoni Metro station and very convienient for sightseeing. The most amazing thing is the Breakfast which is included in the price of the room. You name it and it was there on the 10 feet round breakfast table.

Very close to public transportation (really next to Manzoni Station). Collosseum within walking distance. Very good breakfast with wide selection of different foods and fresh fruits. Some very good restaurants in the neighbourhood with reasonable prices (we recoomend the "RomAntica" restaurant). Ask for a room at the backside of the hotel. These are more quiet.

I STAYED AT MILTON HOTEL DURING MY VACATIONS IN ROME IN 19 MAY 2009. THE HOTEL IS VERY CLEAN, THE STAFF VERY HELPFULL, THE LOCATION IS GREAT (ACROSS THE STREET THERE IS A METRO STATION CALLED MANZONI).BREAKFAST WAS GREAT TOO AND THE PRICE WAS FANTASTIC 320 EUROS FOR 3 NIGHTS. I SUGGEST THIS HOTEL TO EVERYONE BUT THE ONLY DISADVANTAGE IS THE NOISE FROM THE BIG ROAD IN THE SIDE OF THE HOTEL. IF U ASK FOR A ROOM IN THE OTHER SIDE EVERYTHING WOULD BE PERFECT

not in a great area - that is, a poor side of town , but the hotel itself is great - right beside a metro station too which is useful

The hotel has a relatively good location, you can still walk from the Roma Termini (around 15 minutes). Though the metro station Manzoni was still closed by July 07, the next closest metro Vittorio E. is about 5 mins away. Could get be a little noisy since the hotel is located next to a main road. The staff was very helpful with turist information. Though internet was not free, and the hotel TV did not have very clear picture.

I had stayed at this hotel before, so knew what I was coming back to. Now I have had the opportunity to compare it to other hotels in Italy I don't think it's quite as good as I once did. Rooms are very small and you can get better value for money elsewhere. I don't however want to put this hotel down too much. The staff are always pleasant and the service given is good. It's worth noting that breakfast is extra. I was a single traveller and paid more per night for the room than I did in Venice, Florence or Naples. All the other hotels were better quality and in each of these other hotels I did get a double room.

Would have been nicer a bit closer to the city centre but will be better when the new metro station re-opens, staff were very helpful on arrival pointing us in the right direction for all the sights and also helping with bus and train routes.

Overall reasonable value. Good location and, most importantly room was clean although very samll and air con was not working.Breakfast is excellent and available until 11 which is good for those with a sleepy disposition. Staff were generally very helpful with one exception being a rather smug, self satisfied gentleman on reception.

this is an excellent hotel for the price i paid for. friendly and helpful staff. the buffet breakfast was plentiful. the hotel itself is clean and well maintained. my room was small though. but it was spotlessly clean. the only downside is the location because it's quite a walk to the nearest metro, about a good 5 minutes.

Great hotel...very up to date with great helpful staff. The metro station right by the hotel is closed, but once that's open this hotel would be perfect!! Rooms are small, but overall experience makes up for it. Would definitely stay here again.

thoroughly enjoyed my four day stay in the Milton.Rooms were very modern of a high standard and spotless.Staff friendly and helpful with good English.Superb breakfast merited 10/10 for a wide range of hot and cold food.We had a problem with the air conditioning with the room becoming too warm which required the opening of a window thus allowing traffic noise into the room level due to the location of the hotel on a busy junction. Good location with buses and trams running by the hotel and within 15 minutes walk from the Coli.seum

Nice hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Room bit small for three but that was only downside. Breakfast was super and was enough to keep you going all day. Some nice restaurants within short walking distance as was Collosseum. Surrounding area a bit drab but certainly nothing to worry about. Still working on Metro stop outside the hotel but only a nice 15 minute stroll to next nearest stop. Bus 110 is a nice relaxing way to see Rome and you can hop on and off all day.

The hotel and staff were very pleasant. The street noise was horrible. The distance to the Coluseum was very good. If I recomended this hotel, I would recomend a room not on the street side. This hotel was very pleasant and enjoyable other than the noise.

nice and clean hotel.Little bit loud because of the traffic around hotel but did not disturb sleep.Close to old centre, Colloseum etc. Very good, full breakfast and nice personel. Taxi from Termini station 8-10 euro. Comparing to the prices in similar hotels in the centre it is a good deal.

We found the staff helpful in advising about local restaurants to eat at, calling taxis, giving local information to help orient us on arrival and were always polite and accomodating. The hotel itself was well maintained and pleasingly decorated. The breakfast room offered a wide variety of food choices and the staff were efficient in keeping the tables clean for use and stocking the buffet - a pleasant way to start the day.

The location of the hotel is in my opinnion excellent. Everything that's worth seeing it is reachable by walking. You don't need the public transport system. The rooms are a little small, but very clean. The subway station mentioned in other quotes is already not open. But as mentioned above, you don't really need it, if you're an average "walker". If I come back to Rome I would stay again at Milton Roma.

Very good. Hotel has just been renovated (and in fact still seems to be work in progress in some areas but not an issue). Very modern and clean. Room slightly smaller than expected but very well appointed. Breakfast buffet was excellent with lots of choice. Internet service in lobby is expensive and just one terminal so consider internet cafes. The subway station outside the hotel is still being renovated (and looked a long way off being finished) but there are two others only a 5 min walk away.

The hotel was excellent and the staff were very friendly and helpful but it is not in the best area. If you dont mind walking a bit then this is an excellent choice because it is a lovely hotel and reasonably priced. It is about 15 minutes walk from the colosseum and everything else and not too far from the metro station (which you will need by the second day if you walk as much as we did on the first day!) We had a first floor room which meant we could hear the traffic outside but it didnt really disturb us (we were too tired from all the walking!)We would go there again. The nicer area seems to be further west over by the pantheon where there are little side streets with shops and restaraunts. If you dont want to pay more for your hotel though the Milton Roma is a good choice.

I stayed in room 232 in a single room for the first two nights. The room was beautiful and new and very similar to living in a ship's quarters. I was too tired to object the first night, and too lazy the second, but by the third I demanded a double room. The double room was great. I wouldn't advise staying in a single room there, but otherwise a very nice hotel.

FANTASTIC HOTEL! This was my 5th visit to Rome, all in 4* hotels, & this is the best hotel for value for money at 92 euros per night it exceeded all my expectations & was just as good as any of the others I have stayed at for £100 per night. (but I have found the best hotels in Rome overall to be the Capo D'Africa followed by its sister hotel Mellini - very luxurious & tons of space). I had a wonderful welcome, I was shown a map with locations and transport & the tours available. The staff were all very friendly & helpful at all times. When I was shown a single (it was a very good size 302) instead of double room they sorted it out quickly whilst I had a complimentary drink with snacks. I was offered A 30 euro discount per night or a wait until 2pm for check-in. My double room 305 with bath/shower but no curtain? was spacious for myself & kept in pristine condition. The window overlooked the courtyard & even with it wide open I could only hear very minor traffic noise. The air conditioning was strong & quiet, the room had excellent sound proofing & the key cards worked easily. The breakfast was 1st class - especially if you have a sweet tooth the variety of pastries will have you salivating. The location is a 5 minutes walk to the nearest metro and 10 minutes walk to the Colosseum where I found a beautiful restaurant Pasqualino on Via Santissimi Quattro Coronati just to the side of the Colosseum. Everywhere in Rome is easily reached by walking or for the Vatican & Villa Borghese a metro or taxi ride away. The hotel's surroundings are a little run down i.e. quite a lot of graffiti becuase it's just outside of the historic centre but it still feels very safe in the day & at night too. It's perfect for visiting the Forum, Capitoline, Palatine, Colosseum, St Mary Major, St John in Lateran, St Prassede, St Clemente, St Peter in Chains, Trajan markets, Baths of Caracalla & Appian Way. And the Trevi fountain, Pantheon & Piazza Navona are just a little further.

This hotel was air conditioned (!) a very important necessity when in Rome in July. The hotel is brand new inside, very clean, very close to the Colisseum and other historic sites in the city. The staff was very pleasant, the breakfasts were more than adequate, there was internet service in the lobby and in general, this was a great place to stay. I recommend it highly and would stay there again.

An excellent price (80Euro) for the single room provided (bathtub, LCD TV on bedroom wall), very clean, and a short walk to the Termini (15-20mins). A little noisy, but I imagine that has more to do with Rome itself than the hotel. Recommended.

Rooms not particularly big but extremely clean and well equipped. The staff were very efficient and friendly. Only complaint was that the bar didn't open til 6, so no beer while getting changed for evening out. Once the metro station outside the hotel is open the location will be better for attractions other than the colosseum.

The Milton is at the corner of the two VERY busy streets of Via Emanuele Fillberto and Viale Manzoni. It is on Metro Line A – the closest station (Manzoni) on the opposite corner from the hotel is closed for the rest of 2006; the Vittorio Emanuele station is 4.5 blocks to the NW and the San Giovanni station is 5 blocks to the SW. The Coliseum is a 15 minute walk westward. We found the hotel location convenient to most of the sites we wanted to visit. We stayed 7 nights at the Milton Roma 2006/04/26 to 2006/05/03. When we checked in the front desk staff indicated that the hotel had only been open 10 days. The lobby was still being worked on; the lounge/bar was not ready; the south exposure of the building was covered in scaffolds; pounding, drilling and hammering can be heard through out the building. The first room we were shown had a heavy smell of fresh paint. The second room did not have its shower stall installed. The third room we were shown was worth a try. Our room faced Via Emanuele Fillberto. It was VERY VERY noisy throughout the day and night. We learned to sleep through it all but if you can, try and get a room that faces the courtyard (it might be quieter). We had a twin room; it was definitely bigger than a twin room in London, but it would be considered to be quite a small room by North American standards. Everything inside the room was new. We appreciated the safe inside the closet. The flat panel tv was a bonus. The beds were firm but were made up with only sheets and a bedspread; mattress covers, pillow covers and blankets would have made them more comfortable. The bathroom was beautifully done but lacked some of the basics like a shower curtain, a place to put ones toiletries and a hook on the door for hanging clothes. The room was made up every day but we had to ask for the carpet to be vacuumed. Housekeeping did come in to vacuum but they did not vacuum under the bed. A buffet breakfast was served from 7 am to 11

The hotel was not actualy ready to open, the public areas were full of workers, satelite TV was not installed, there was no room such the one shown on the site. When we first checked in we were placed in a very small and noisy room (you could hear everything from the main street that was next to the hotel), after our comlains they put us in a quiet and larger room which had 3 beds but not a double one and that was not very convenient. On the other hand I have to say that the personnel was very polite and willing to help, the rooms were very clean and breakfast was more than enough.

The hotel is not at 500 meters from Il Colosseo, but at 1500 meters. The hotel was not opened on the 1st April, but on 17 April, so I didn't have blankets on my bed and the air conditioning was not working The main reason for choosing Hotel Milton was that the Underground station was at 10 meters from the hotel. That was true but it was the only closed station in Rome (renovations) During my staying there were many construction works going on in tyhe hotel. They were building the bar, fixing the floor etc. The rooms are pretty small for a 4 stars hotel

Well, The hotel had just been open for 2 days at our arrival the 16th of April. They did have some overbooking due to the computer system.(I think that the room renovation just was`nt finished) anyway when we arrived at 22.30 an sunday evening, they did not have the booked doubleroom ready, they had already arranged for 2 options. Option one was 2 single rooms located on different floors, option 2 was transfer to another 4 star hotel on the other side of Termini Station. As this was a romantic trip we decided to take option 2. The guy working at the counter this evening was very helpfull and arranged for us to have a nice dinner before he the transport to the other hotel, he also arranged for the pick up of our luggage at the temporary hotel the day after. Consequently our luggage was at the Milton Roma when we arrived the evening after. I am a frequent traveller with about 60-80 hotel nights every year and the guy working at the counter that night was one of a kind, and any hotel owner should be happy to have him in his hotel.(maybe it is his hotel?). The location was perfect with about 10 minutes walk to Colloseum and Termini Station. A very good family owned restaurant about 150 m up on Via Emanuelle Filiberto on the opposit side from the hotel.

Problem is that they said the new Hotel would be finished in time for us staying there and it wasnt by far. I had an alternative Hotel I turned down because they said to be finished. I got a discount on their already discounted price (which wasnt mentioned anywhere) Also I forgot to take the passports when leaving and the staff forgot also. That created a problem because we would leave from another city (Milan) far away som could not go back to get them. Finally the second hotel we stayed at fixed it by requesting Milton Roma to send the passports my expressmail, which they did and luckily we got the passports 2 days later at the second hotel.
