Perfect price/quality accomodation just few steps from Termini railway station, just about 30minutes by train from Fiumicino airport. Metro is 3minutes walk. You can go by walk for Spagna, Di Trevi fountain or colloseo. I'd definitely recommend this.

First impressions were very poor. Up an alley, Very small sign in a doorway and up a set of stairs to get to a small desk. However Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was small for for a famaily of 4 but fine. Would certainly stay there again. Basic but pleasent budget hotel. - Please watch for pick pockets in Rome. We caught one and another guest was pick pocketed when we were there. Overall a fantactic historic city - cant wait to return - Stayed Summer 2006.

Not in the nicest area located near the Termini, but convenient for train travellers. Not as clean feeling as we would have hoped, but it wasn't terrible. The pictures were slightly misleading as was the price for what we actually got.

First of all, its at the end of an ally street. The neighborhood was very scary. The hotel appearance was not welcoming at all. When we checked in, we soon found that they didn't offer many of the things that they advertised, such as shuttle service to the airport, 24 hour front desk, room service and wake-up service to name a few. We did NOT even get a phone in our room, or access to one. They also fail to mention that you must PAY for a/c if you want it in your room, 10.00 euro a day. The staff was not at all friendly, and some made you feel very uncomfortable being around and leaving your key with them while you where out. We faced the street and it was VERY noisy, and hard to sleep. The room was tiny and smelled of cigarettes. We where so happy to leave there.

The rooms were nice and clean, but the service was poor. We asked about air conditioning which was supposed to be included and they wanted to add an extra charge until we insisted. Were not very helpful regarding any advice on attractions, how to get to placed etc. Basically the staff was not helpful with anything but handing us the key.

Very clean, nice triple with comfy beds (double over booked), moved to double the next night with beds hard as stone. Rooms nicely decorated and clean. Baths super spacious, nice and clean - nicest bath in all our hotels in Italy. Great location to everything (easy two - three block walk from station), just not really a clean area of town but no safty issues encountered and I felt safe. I can not say any hotel in Italy was a good value, including this one.

had a great time in Rome..the hotel was ideally placed for the bus terminal. Rooms are a little on the small side but for a city break it was great. The service was spot on....the guy on the night shift was a gem, he deserves a pay rise

This hotel was way overpriced. The room was tiny, barely enough room to walk around the bed. The shower didn't drain well so we had to turn the water off and on during a shower. The walls were paper thin. The worst part is that we had a small balconey on the back side of the building. It overlooked the tenements that were all around the hotel building. Since there is no air conditioning in the older hotels in Rome, we could see and hear into these people's apartments. It was the worst hotel experience I've ever had.

Not in the most attractive part of town and looks untidy from the entrance but once you climb the stairs to the hotel it is clean and tidy. The weather was hot when we were there so we kept the window open during the night but the outside street was very noisy. It might have been better to pay the extra for the air-con. The breakfast lounge was unavailable so we had to walk round the corner to a cafe for a sparse breakfast. When we came to pay it had to be in cash as the credit card machine was broken - still! We had read about this on a previous review so were prepared. Overall I think the rooms are overpriced. We don't recommend the Chinese restaurant across the road, the service was very poor. Crossing the roads can be a bit scarry, cross when the locals do.

Booking through this website was very convienient and all of the information provided was pretty acurate and very helpful. Though it said that the hotel took credit cards, we were asked to pay in cash. This was no problem for us as after reading the other reviews we were prepared for it. The map on the website is right on and it's about a 5-10 minute walk from the train station. However, the little dead-end street that the hotel is on isn't very attractive or welcoming at first, but you get used to it and we didn't have any trouble there. The hotel, as stated on the website, is on the 1st floor of the building and the entrance does not look very promising. Once you get past that, the hotel lobby and our room were nice and clean. The room we booked was a "Triple", but it was so small, we had just enough room to walk around the beds and between the double bed and the twin bed in the room. There was no window in our room wich made it seem all the more small. The breakfast room that was pictured on the website was non existant during our stay. They brought the breakfast to our room. When I asked about it they said that it was being remodled. The staff were friendly and helpful and this hotel suited our needs of a clean place to spend the nights while we were in Rome. While I would have no problem staying here again, I think I will try out another Hotel the next time we are in Rome.

As a party of seven visiting Rome for the first time on a rugby tour (both male and female) we would strongly recommend the Meridiana Hotel for value, pleasant surroundings, and an extremely helpful staff. This Hotel is family run and the proprietor and all the relatives and staff were most accommodating. Breakfast was served in our rooms each morning at a time suitable to us, fresh towels were supplied daily and toiletries were in abundance in the bathroom. This hotel is also located within easy walking distance of shops, sights, etc. and would strongly recommended by us all. We look forward to our next visit there!!

A gem of a hotel in the centre of Rome. Location could not be better. Breakfast was meagre and delivered to the room. It is NOT POSSIBLE to pay by credit card (even though the website says it is) so be prepared to have access to cash at the last minute. Price is excellent and the staff are most obliging.

The hotel, although quite cheap, proved very good and extra-clean. The location was very convenient, since it is next to the Termini station and all its busses. The service was good as well. If I am forced to find weak points, I would say that we could here a bit too much noise from the corridor (probably because we had the room next to the main hall), and that the food served, in bed, for breakfast was very good, but that we could have eaten more of it (But this is a general Italian problem).

It still has some renovation work on the ground floor. It does not have elevator and you have to walk up the stairs with your luggages. There is a laundary shop on the street behind it, super-market is a block away.

¡¡¡¡¡¡¡Buena estancia!!!!

Surprisingly large and clean rooms, rather 3* than 2. "Hotel" (only 1 floor, next floor is another Hotel) totally new renovated, Construction debris still in the starway. Personnel speaking quite good english. Location excellent, quiet dead end road, 5 walking minutes from Termini Railway Station and Metro. Breakfast rather poor, no credit cards (yet). Altogether recommendable.

Easy to locate the street on the map, however hard to find the hotel itself as it was on the 1st floor and there was another one with a huge sign on the groundfloor, the next door. A bit confusing! Friendly staff, nice rooms, the floor was not so clean, but we arrived earlier and so the housekeeper was still busy finishing it and therefore did it in a hurry. As for the rest, it was very good.

We enjoyed our stay at the Meridiana very much. It has an excellent location about 2 blocks from the Rome train station and busses. There is an excellent trattoria around the block where we ate frequently. The hotel provided a good continental breakfast from a cafe around the corner - cappucino, croissant and juice. The hotel is clean and well appointed. The rooms are rather small. We were 3 in a room which made it tight, but we still liked it. The street is not great. It doesn't look very promising but actually there were no problems . It is also within walking distance with several restaurants in the area. The hotel personnel were pleasant and helpful. One older gentleman spoke excellent English. The other people spoke some English and were helpful with providing useful information. For the money, I would recommend it. It is cheap (145 for a triple) clean and attractive. It doesnt provide all the extras which more expensive hotels provide. But we were happy to save the money and spend it on other things.

Considering the price of accomodation in Rome, this turned out to be a good, clean budget hotel with very friendly staff, although according to the webpage it was meant to have a dining room, which we never got to see as they kept sending the breakfast to the room. Our only concern would be the location, a bit dodgy at night.

Nice hotel in a quiet street to be so close to Termini. We didn´t hear any noise from the outside, but we did hear some from the hallway. We were greeted with a warm welcome and the crew were very nice. The only thing that didn´t turn up the way we had expected (from the information on the webpage) was the breakfast. It wasn´t a buffet, but a more "italian style" breakfast with a cappuccino, juice and a croissant. On the other hand, we had a small fridge in the room, so we could make our own addition to the breakfast. We would gladly recommend the hotel to everybody who want a nice, clean, quiet hotel in a good location.

This hotel is excellently situated being 5 mins walk from the Termini Bus/Train/Tube, from where you can easily discover the majority of major sites in Rome.(Termini is also where the Ciampino Airport bus shuttle drops off/picks up).Significantly the hotel is located at the end of a cul-de-sac meaning there is little traffic or noise - a godsend in a Capital city. The only sign to indicate the hotel is a brass placque on the wall so it can't be identified from the end of the street. The entrance is a bit confusing too as the reception is on the first floor of the building.Initially the entrance doesn't look too promising, however once you get to the first floor reception it is a different story. The whole of the hotel looks to have been completely refurnished and is in excellent order with lovely tiled bathrooms. The rooms also have air-conditioning which is rare in two star hotels but essential in summer. The only down side is reception keep the aircon remote and you have to request it is switched on/off by them. The description says they take credit cards but they told us it was cash only. Also it says they have Internet access when they don't (although there are two Internet cafes within 2 minute walk). Finally the breakfast included is coffee/juice and a roll and brought to the room at a time requested the night before. This is a very small continental breakfast but appears very typical of other similar hotels in Rome. Overall highly recommended and excellent value.
