Stayed with 3 friends in a quad. We were very happy with the Martini. Its not a 5 star hotel but met our needs perfectly while we were in Rome. It has a great central location for getting around the city, there are places to eat near by, the room wasn't huge but was big enough for the 4 of us and our stuff to not feel crowded, the bathroom was spacious, the room was clean(which is the most important thing to me!), the breakfast buffet was good. All in all a good value for our money. The Martini will be our first choice the next time we stay in Rome!

A fine family hotel very close to all sights in central Rome. But it would be nice if we could have turned off the heating. It was too hot in the night.

this is not a 3 star hotel. Dingy entrance. elevator decrepid and sometimes not working. on several occassions had to climb 8 flights of stairs. very noisy. tiny breafast area. filthy shower curtain and had to insist on having it replaced. no hot water until after the third complaint and several hours waiting.

The hotel looks a bit old and dark. The AC is not fully working as it is 38--40C outside, they need to be changed for the next heatwave. The staff are helpful and friendly.

They had just installed new windows to make the room more soundproof. That was really nice to know. The only drawback was the inability to control the room temperature, but I think that also was being worked on. Breakfast personnel could have been more friendly. But it is a great location and they gave us a great recommendation for dinner.

Staff was very helpfull and friendly. if someone want to stay in center of Rome i would recommend this hotel. Kind regards

We reserved a quad room. When we arrived we were given a room with a double bed and a cot. They told us that that was a quad room when I protested. Next day we were changed to a quad room only after I insisted or said we were leaving. Elevator doesn't work most of the time and the hotel is on the 4th floor. Never again!!

This hotel left much to be desired. The staff asked that we pay in cash, the rooms were cramped and did not seem clean, and the entire hotel reeked of smoke. We will not return to this hotel, nor would we recommend it.

The Hotel can be reached by a 10 minutes walk from roma termini station on the busy street where there are many other hotels, shops, restaurants and a supermarket opposite. It is just a couple of minutes walk from the metro station and all main places of interest in roma are within walking distance from this hotel except Vatican city. The hotel is situated at the fourth floor of an old building next to a bar/restaurant and you need to buzz the bell to get in. A small hotel of 14 rooms but is clean and has all the basic necessities for a good stay. The staff are friendly but the breakfast room is a bit small with 4 tables and the spread is reasonable based on a 3 stars hotel standard. Will recommend this hotel for travellers with a mid range budget.

The hotel is located on a very busy/noisy road & the hotel staff(with one exception)were extremely discourteous. The bed was very uncomfortable,we both had backache after 4 nights, bathroom was tiny & no drawers in room.I was asked to pay my bill the night before leaving & when my credit card did not work the receptionist asked if I had enough money to pay the bill & insinuated sarcastically that we would leave at 05:00 without paying. It turned out it was the hotel's credit card machine that was unserviceable. The staff were incredibly rude througout showing almost contempt to us.The breakfast room was tiny & the recepionist acts as waiter also which seemed to cause them much annoyance. My wife & I would not recommend this hotel at all as there are many better hotels in Rome. Not value for money at all.

The hotel is on the 4th floor accessed by a 2 person lift. The first room that was offered, faced the street and was far too noisy. We then changed to the rear of the hotel for the remainder of our 6 day stay and the room was very good. The breakfast room is very small. the breakfast selection was adequate however if you arrived late the selection was limited.

The hotel was in a great central location, close to the train station and subway, and walking distance to everything. The rooms were small but nice and comfortable. There is a nice common area to relax in, which was nice because we were traveling with friends and the room was a little cramped for all of us to sit in. Breakfast was very good - excellent pastry's, yogurt and bread and meat. The staff was not overly friendly, but they were accomodating and spoke English fairly well. The only complaint I would have about the hotel was that it is on a VERY noisy street, which is the trade off for bsing in a central location. I would recommend asking for a room in the back of the building, not overlooking Via Nazionale as we were - I think it would be a bit quieter. A week earlier we stayed at Hotel Selene which was close by, and I would recommend it over Martini.

Very pleasant indeed. Tastefully decorated & offering good value for money. The Breakfast room is tiny & the breakfast itself a little sparse …. But this is probably the norm for Italian city hotels of this standard rating. Location is relatively central & walking distance from a number of key sites, including Coliseum & Termini railway station. Good bus routes outside the hotel & the main bus / train hub at Termini is 5 minutes walk away. There are just enough bars & restaurants within walking distance to satisfy & a late opening ‘Irish’ Bar next door (if you must!). Bottom Line – certainly stay at the Martina again.

Staff friendly and helpful; double bed very uncomfortable first night, but the owners gladly replaced the mattress for us. Breakfast room small but adequate; breakfast unexciting. Venere price was a little less than the hotel's published B&B rates. We drove into Rome and it took some time to work out where to park while we unloaded. Ended up parking illegally like the rest of the Italian drivers! Some advice on this detail on the web would be useful to anyone else crazy enough to drive into Rome.

good hotel for Rome, relatively easy to find and good location - took about 20 mins to walk from station with all our luggage. Our room was a bit small and shower was a bit hot/cold/hot, but aircon kept us cool and didn't have too much traffic noise with the windows shut. Breakfast room was too small though and the couple we were with had to wait for a free table. Hotel staff were helpful and let me store some gifts in the fridge. Also booked a taxi for us which was the highlight of the holiday - Gianni Locarino gave us a highly entertaining and informative guided tour of Rome and only charged 45 euros to get to Ciampino

Great Hotel in very convenient section of the city. The breakfast area was small and lacking a little on the "food" but was adequate. I liked the location and would recommend the hotel to anyone who wants to stay in a 3 star hotel and get the feel of Italy. Rooms were clean. The staff arranged to have a driver to the airport upon departure and the man who took us was prompt and courteous. When we travel from the USA again, I would definitly consider this Hotel if we stay in Rome.

The staff was very gracious, friendly and helpful. The location very loud, also at night, as Via Nazionale is a key traffic artery. However, the location is a little over 10 minute walking distance from Termini Station, thus very central. Though the view was as in the picture, it's actually more cramped; not worth taking the room because of the view. Location and service great; but all the rest - loud.

The Martini Hotel is very central situated and is in a beautiful and central street in the historical center, with a lot of shopping facilities. My stay at Martini was great. It was centrally located, and in an area of Rome that had fabulous shopping and wonderful restaurants. The staff was so courteous and friendly ... they made you feel like you were visiting them in their home. They, also, were very helpful in arranging airport transportation. The breakfast room was small, but well worth any wait for a seat to get a cup of their delicious cappucino ... limited breakfast selections, though. The rooms were very clean ... the staff even straightened and organized our room as they on a cruise ship. The elevator (lift) had room for one person and their luggage ... so patience is necessary. The stairway came in handy for exercise ... to walk off the pasta and wine, so I rarely wanted to use the elevator anyway. They turn off the air conditioning in late September, so to cool your room you need to leave the windows (doors) open ... at night noises could sometimes wake you. All in all ... great stay!

Very good, very small and intimate family-type hotel on main arterial street but ideal location for those wanting to be near station, shops, transport and walking distance to usual tourist areas and all facilities. Located on 4th floor, entered from large, wooden, security door in street and lift. Ideal for the single lady travelling alone, but probably not for energetic children! The staff spoke English and went out of their way to be helpful when my luggage was delayed at airport, and when coat left in taxi. The "landlady" was a friendly soul, and helpful with directions. The breakfast room was tiny, and continental breakfast nothing flash, but adequate and clean. Some inexpensive and clean eateries nearby. The reception and breakfast room were the only public areas. Overall, I had a happy introduction to Rome via this hotel.

The hotel is in a very convenient location (close to train station and Metro). The room was clean. Our room was on the back of the building, however the place was very noisy: you could hear people walking and talking in the other rooms and upstairs. If you want a very quite place probably this is not your favorite hotel. However, the hotel is good overall. One annoying thing was the owner and her mother smoking at the desk all day. Also the owner initially told us that there was a mistake in the electronic reservation system since the price of the room was 30 euros more for the new year's eve. Initially she tried to bargain, but then she quit, so we paid the price that we got on Venere, but she told us she did us a favor, which I found a little impolite.

The Martini is in a great location. It is close, but not too close to the Termini. The neighborhood is full of clothing stores and restaurants. It also is relatively close to the Roman ruins and Metro. Our room was large for the money and very clean. The bed was very firm. We felt that the staff was professional but a bit aloof. The room overall was good, and suited our purpose (general tourism). The bathroom however was restricted for space, with the loo tucked into a tiny corner. Ditto the shower cubicle. Fortunately there was an additional loo next door. The breakfast room really should have been better planned, as there were too few tables and we had to wait for a table to become free. Otherwise, the hotel was very pleasant with efficient staff and good decor. Location is good and very central, with most sites within fairly easy walking distance.

We enjoyed an excellent vacation at the Martini. The hotel is on the 4th floor of an XIX century building and the elevator they have is probably a relic from the Roman era, but this is just part of the fun. They offered us a great deal when we made the reservation and sticked to it. There was a small mistake with the room type upon our arrival (which was after midnight), but it was swiftly corrected in the morning and we had an enormous room with a nice view for the next 4 nights. The staff is nice, and competent, especially the night guard/breakfast guy. The hotel is strategically located within 20 minutes walking distance to all tourist attractions except the Vatican and the subway station is around the corner. You cannot want more in Rome.If you call this hotel beforehand they can even send a guy to pick you from the airport at a better rate than taxis do. Finally I would like to mention that VENERE.COM does an excellent job and thanks to it we had a marvellous vacation in Italy. Contrary to a widely spread opinion in the USA everything seems to work pretty well in this "bellissima" country. Trains are coming and leaving on time. Subway and buses are much cleaner than what we have in New York. Car rentals provide good service, highways and even country roads are in perfect condition and fellow drivers are not that crazy as you might think.
