This hotel was great because it was inexpensive but still very clean compared to other hotels we stayed in in Italy. The only issues we had were the employees did not all speak English well. It is right next to the train station, not exactly the historic city center, but we didn´t mind taking the bus or walking to the attractions. We are a group of students from the US, and this hotel was the perfect price for us to be able to spend a few days in Rome.

We booked 2 double and 1 single room and asked for the court-yard side rather than the street. Unfortunately the single room was on the street side, very narrow and a lot of noice, the small double-window was shared with another room, which meant that when the neighbour coughed I was awaken. The 2 double rooms were very quiet and spacious.Breakfast had to be taken at a bar, the first 2 days we got a second coffee upon our request but the next day it was not for free anymore. The hotel is very near to the trainstation from where the buses go to all directions. We had an overall power failure one night resulting in the emergency lights going on in the rooms and no way to put them off, awaken again ! When we went to pay, they kindly asked us if we could pay cash, but we had no problem to pay by credit card.

This hotel is located very close to the train station and trains are an excellent way to enjoy Italy. It was a little difficult to find but you just have to be able to read a map. Yes, the elevator is very small - only built for two persons, so one of us had to do the stairs. This is really a different type of hotel with one building having a separate hotel on basically each floor. The welcome was pretty good but when we said that we would pay by credit card, the senior lady said she wanted cash. Of course the credit card machine was broken - a likely story. We had already read about this and she finally gave up and one of her daughters suddenly got the machine to work. The room was clean but no air conditioning unless you wanted to pay more. This was likely the smallest bathroom I have every seen but at least it was recently remodelled. Not a bad place but look around to see what you can get - we waited too late and perhaps we could have done better.

very quiet rooms and surroundings (we spent 4 nights). Very close to the station, bus & metro. Very easy to join from airport Ciampino with Terravision (bus). Breakfast ok, in a bar close to the hotel. We recommand !

Very close to the station which was great. Hotel was on the third floor but luckily there was a lift. Room was small but adequate. Staff were helpful. Being able to book and correspond by email was great. Would recommend to anybody going to Rome.

This was the worst hotel we stayed at in Rome. Very small, tight room and noise on the street throughout the night. Price rather high. It did not offer much in amenities. You could barely move in the bathroom and bath towels looked to be 10 years old and very rough. No phone service, could not reach anyone to pay for the room nor could we make any outgoing calls. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. We only stayed one night to get us to the train station, and we didn't get much sleep. Photos looked nice on line, but we were fooled.

Very close to train station. Convenient if you're traveling early or arriving late. Area of hotel is not the nicest in Rome, but not dangerous. Hotel manager allowed us to leave our bags in a locked hotel area when we arrived before check-in time. Nice room safe available. Excellent price, but expect a basic room and stay. That's our preference.

Got there at almost midnight. Were very helpful when we got there, but they did not have our rooms available and so we went to a different hotel. Was clean and right next to the underground station and had access to internet and laundry facilities. Would stay there again

I went on holiday with 3 off my brothers,I chose the hotel because it is centrally located to most historical sights. The staff did not speak english apart from the lady who booked us in. The cleaning staff wanted us to get out of our room as they need to clean the room at the time they wanted to clean the rooms, we was told that they would not clean the room otherwise. The tv is in italian, no satalitte. The sheets were changed probabely once during our 7 night stay. Breakfast is outside the hotel and at one point, we were told no breakfast after 10.30am by one off the non english speaking staff. No disabled access, their is one lift but only holds two people apart from that rooms were clean, the location is next to termini station which is great, oh yeh air conditioning is extra 5 Euro per day did not expect that. We were a bit late checking out we were told by the english speaking lady that it was o.k but then the non english speaking lady came and said people are waiting to checking in and they needed to clean the room therefore we must leave the room. I think they need staff that can communicate in english and be a bit more customer service orientated. Good value for money in compasion to others.

The only bad thing was breakfast because you had to get it in a bar nearby, not in the hotel(a coffee and a croissant),but even that was ok.In general, the staff was nice, the room clean ,quiet and confortable and very centric. All my family was delighted with the hotel.Nothing better for the price.

The photograps show large rooms and restaurant facilities, the breakfast is at the local restaurant/bar, rooms very small, our room was at the front and could be very noisy. The location was excellent.

For a family of three, we spent 6 comfortable nights at Magic. It can be a bit noisy with street life since you are close to the train station and the hotel walls are a bit thin but we weren't bothered by it. This was actually a fun hotel to stay at just because it is quite different from what an American would expect. It does have the world's smallest elevator which had us giggling every time we used it. They prefer cash payment but we eventually convinced them to take our credit card. It's conveniently located to public transportation, within walking distance to the Colloseum (20-30 min.) and other fabulous sites. There's no shortage of places to eat. There's a grocery store located at the underground level of the train station so you can stock up on water and snacks.

This hotel is situated in a very old building consisting of several hotels, one on each floor. The rooms, especially the bathroom are desperate for updating. The entrance hallway is less than inviting. The breakfast of one croissant and cup of coffee in a cafe 150 metres walk away does not represent good value for money. On the plus side there are some very good and reasonably priced restaurants close by.

We had a renewed room with an excellent barhroom in the 4th floor with a small balcony. A pretty good offer for that price. You can find some reasonable priced restaurante arround the hotel. Breakfast is served at a little bar (d'amici). Execellent Coffe + Croisant. The stop for the transfer busses to Chiampino airport is just 5 minute walk away. Conclusion: A perfect stay to discover Rom.

Still find the hotel prices in Rome very expensive compared to everywhere else in Europe especially for what you get They should look at other cities and compare

Hotel was very unusual, it starts on the 3rd floor and has the smallest lift I have ever come across! The manageress was pleasent and informative, The noise started early with the local restaurants empting their bottle bins before 7 am!! (but I suppose you can't expect much else in such a busy city). But the rooms on the 4th floor were great, recently refurbished and kept really clean. Oh and there is a fantastic chinese restaurant around the corner. Overall a different but nice place to stay.

I was very pleased with our stay at Magic. The kitchen was closed so we were given coupons for a cafe nearby for a free Italian style breakfast (pastries and coffee). The air conditioning was wonderful (Rome is EXTREMELY HOT during July) and worked very well. A/C is well worth the extra $$ for summer months. Staff has limited English but enough to communicate well (not that we speak the best Italian either). They were very friendly and accomodating. Rooms kept very clean. Very happy with Magic and well worth the price! Will stay there again!

Il price/performance è adeguato. Pulito, tranquillo e con arredamento nuovo. Peccato il bar interno non sia attivo e si debba uscire per colazione. Nonostante le indicazioni molto restii ad accettare carte di credito.

The room at first appeared very small, but after a period of time it became apparent that all accomodation in Rome is small. The room overall was quite cosy, the bathroom however was just too small and there was a constant musky smell which never seemed to disappear no matter how many times the room was cleaned. The staff (who were just a family who ran the hotel) did have very limited English, however this did not prove a massive problem. By the way if you stay here they insist on only being paid "cash", but they do have a card swipe machine that they don't like you knowing about. Overall a decent place.

Hotel Magic is a fine, basic hotel in a convenient location near the train station in Rome. The rooms were very clean, and lighting, water pressure, and bedding were adequate, which is not always the case in Italy. We stayed in two rooms, one in the back which was very quiet, and one facing the road, which was quite noisy. The hotel was a little too basic to qualify as comfortable, but, depending on your needs, it was a good place to stay.
