Great location---really easy to access from Metro and in the midst of the hub-bub of the Spanish steps. All hotel personnel were very friendly. Rooms were very charming. Breakfast was included and very nice. Overall, I would highly recommend.

Rooms were fine. Breakfast poor. Good location. Friendly staff.

Excellent location, perhaps we were unlucky with some details;in our room the basin plug was broken in closed position - meaning we had to clean our teeth over the bidet unless we wanted to wash in our own spit the next morning, one wardrobe door was hanging by only one hinge - dangerous - no minibar price list, no instructions how to use telephone (i.e. to call reception to ask for these things to be put right), 3 large holes in my bed sheet! This hotel cost us £100 per person per night for God's sake! I raised the problems the next morning with reception staff who reacted suitably shocked and they were put right by the evening (except the sheet and I was losing the will to keep complaining). One evening I reported to reception that there was no toilet paper left and I was told to speak to the chambermaid! Photos on website appear much more luxurious than is the case. Breakfast terrace looks shaded and open, in fact it is double glazed and permanently shut - in temperatures or 30 degrees or more this is not a relaxing start to the day! A shame, as breakfast was plentiful and varied. Would be ideal for stays in November to February, not after that. Also, jacuzzi bath/showers are prominently and enticingly shown (in the distressingly small bathrooms) on the website but ours had clearly not worked in a long time if they ever did. Truthfully, although I expected Rome hotels to be expensive from previous visit, I felt a liitle ripped off here.

Awesome location. Lovely and spacious room, including the bathroom. Great value. Very helpful staff. They offered via reservation confirmation to arrange taxi service to the airport on my departure date. It was all set when I arrived and taxi arrived promptly at the reserved time. Only downside was that there was only 1 channel available on the TV and since it was a very rainy day and night, I would have enjoyed being able to watch CNN or some other international news channel. Highly recommend this hotel.

The price paid for this location, and the fact that there were no hidden add-ons was great. The 2 female desk attendants were fabulously helpful in every way, the night time/part time pensioner was a bit slow in processing ppwk but otherwise okay. The positives were a respectable breakfast in a great terrace room, the restaurants in the area, and of course the shopping on via Condotti leading up to the Spanish steps. The only downer we had was our window shutters not staying up robbing us of a view until I used a pc of wood from the cot we had to prop it open 1/2way. Very near to this hotel is a fab restaurant on the corner of Via della Croce and Bocca di Leone (lots of hanging plants and adornments so it shouldn't be missed). It has the best apptzs and 1st courses to go with a great wine menu for very reasonable prices. family friendly also.

This is a great little hotel in an excellent location. The staff were very helpful in suggesting where to go, what to see etc. Breakfast was ok, but not much choice and the pastries were not really fresh. Overall very happy with our stay. will definitely stay here again.

Venere overcharged us significantly for this accommodation. We should have paid about 180 Euros a night (the going rate on the street) and instead paid 300 a night. In the future, I will not use Venere for my booking.

The best: the location, near Piazza di Spagna and near one of the main subway stations. The worse: the price/quality relationship (you pay just for the location, don't expect extra services or a very charming building). It's easy to find the hotel, 'cause it's just a few meters ago from the subway station "Spagna" (line A), a really crowded and fashion area (Via Condotti is a street with Prada's, Bvlgary's, etc. shops). The breakfast was the tipycal one (bakery, iogurts, marmalade, kellog's and slices of cheese/ham). The room was tiny, not as big as the fotos suggest, but really clean. There is no danger in walking in the surroundings late at night, and you can choose between a lot of restaurants and wineries to eat something.

We chose this hotel for its proximity to the shops and for this reason it could not be better. The rooms were well appointed and clean, however one was aware of the noise from the street ( we were on the 4th floor) until the shops closed and the walls are paper thin and you can hear the guests in the adjoining rooms. This apart, La Lumiere is a clean welcoming hotel in a good position and we would, nonetheless, stay there again when we visit Rome

I stayed two nights and was dissapointed that the hotel could not provide coffee 1/2 hour early on the morning of our departure.

Very old hotel. We paid 300 euros for a hotel where nobody helped with the luggage. The carpet at the lobby and corridors old and dirty. The bed at the room couldn't be hardest. We could hardly sleep, had an old thin matress. People nice. At the reception during day time people very nice and efficient. During the night very nice but completely unefficient

The street below our room was being rebuilt with enormous noise (concrete mixers ..) during the whole first night(28th to 29th September) of our stay, and we could get absolutely no sleep- The hotel refused to discharge one night arguing they were not responsible for the noise. (the municipality of Rome apparently didn't inform them of the works....) 300 Euros charged for a night without sleep is not acceptable. Please ask them to ask the town for a compensation and send it to their clients.

This is my 5th trip to Rome and I chose this hotel because of the great location. We stayed 5 nights and the room was clean and well appointed if not overly large. The staff was friendly and helpful, English was not a problem. Breakfast is not particularly inventive and the same breads, rolls, cereals and cold meat and cheese were served every day. There is NO service available from the kitchen after the staff leaves around 2 pm so no hot water for tea, coffee etc. All in all it was fine because of location but not a memorable hotel. The price definitely reflects the location and not the amenities or service. I know Rome is expensive but would expect just a bit more service/amenities for the price.

The location is fantastic, especially for shopping, eating out and walking tour sightseeing. The size of the hotel is small, the lobby tiny, the rooms okay, the b'fast terrace offers a rooftop view of the area including the Spanish Steps. We were happy for the two nights we were there. I would not go there for a longer stay as might be a bit claustrophobic!

This was my first stay at Hotel La Lumière di Piazza di Spagna and I have to say that I would definitely stay there again. It was a short stay of 3 days to attend my brothers marriage in Rome and you couldn't have asked for a more central location, being situated as it is on a small street beside Via Condotti and the Spanish Steps. Shopping at Christmas time in Rome is an experience not to be missed, far removed from the hustle of many cities and the location of this small hotel, the friendliness of the staff and the comfortable rooms along with a good breakfast make this hotel a great choice. One tip - on departure, if there are three or more people heading to the airport, have the receptionist book one of their taxis for you. Charge is(€55)and it will save a lot of walking.

This hotel is in an excellent location close to the Spanish Steps. The staff all speak English and provided many useful suggestions for restaurants, cafes, wine shops etc. As the breakfast room is located at the top of the hotel we were able to eat and enjoy a beautiful view. There is also a roof area that can be used at any time. We used this for pre-dinner drinks.

Pleasant staff. Great value for money considering the price of Rome hotels. Breakfast is just standard continental fare but there is a nice rooftop terrace for breakfast. If you want to be nearer the main attractions of the city then consider something a little more south west in the city. If you want to be near great shopping then this is the hotel for you.

Situation EXCEPTIONNELLE au coeur du quartier très animé regroupant tous les commerces de luxe. Les chambres sont bien isolées phoniquement. Tous les sites du centro storico sont accessibles à pied

We missed our flight and flew in early the next day. The staff was not accomodating in any way regarding our no show the night before. This was understandable. However, they stuck us in a fifth floor room RIGHT next to the breakfast room so at 8 am we were woken up with banging of dishes, chairs and people talking. Request a room that is not on the fifth floor. Also, the breakfast was pretty bad. Besides that those things the rooms were clean and the hotel was in a great location. Bring your own hair dryer though! I won't stay there again though.

This hotel is in a fantastic location. The rooms are very nicely decorated and ours was actually roomy (apart from the bathroom) by Italian standards. The hotel is within a very short walk of the Metro if you are keen on getting the train from Rome airport.

Breakfast is not in accordance with the price: Teawater mostly only warm, no breads for an average european client, cold cuts really not good, jam below average. good: Some fresh fruits

We had a wonderful stay at La Lumière di Piazza di Spagna. The location could not be better, right at the foot of the Spanish Steps and right off Via Condotti. The staff was very welcoming, room was clean with a small balcony. There is a nice terrace where they serve breakfast every morning. We would definitely stay there again on our next visit to Rome.
