We loved this hotel! Rome can feel kind of big and intimidating so it was nice to stay at a hotel that felt very comfortable and very safe. The staff of the hotel was great and extremely helpful in finding different sites, and the hotel is just a short walk to the train station which will take you anywhere in Rome. I think that any person of any age would enjoy staying at this hotel and I would definitely stay there again.

It is a perfect hotel if you need a local place tó stay. Clean room and bathroom was great. Unfortunately we did not get our breakfast the last morning. Still I don´t know why they didn´t serve breakfast even if it was 7.30 in the morning. I spoke to the receptionist but he didn´t have an answer. He just kept tolding us to wait 10 min more. So we did, but in the end we had to leave because we had a plane to catch. Really unexcuseble!
USA, Apr 2009
The hotel was a little further away from the main sites than I was expecting. Not close to any public transportation either. We walked a lot!

The room was very spacious and very clean. But the reception of Hotel Louisiana was not easily reachable, becos there were two or more hotels in the same building. Breakfast was good. The location is walkable distance to Roma Termini station. Overall it was a good stay.

Hi, We had a wonderful stay at the hotel in room 403 (sex nights, me and my wife and our seven year old boy). Nice and clean with everything working. Some nice restaurangs around the hotel, and the hotel is close to Termini station (10 minutes walking with the bags), Piazza Barberini, Fontana de Trevi -- and all the other tourist attractions. ------ A tip: Try to get a room on the 4 th floor. It´s newly refurbished. ------ The breakfast was OK, but with lot´s of sugarfilled breads and marmelads. /Have o nice stay!

Small hotel with simple breakfast. Night settle not recomended because employees don't speak in english. Some speak in russian and polski.

Near the station, which is a plus, tho' not the best part of town for a tourist (banks, British Embassy, govt. buildings). Perfectly nice place and friendly enough. Prices good for Rome, so don't be discouraged.

Within walking distance to Termini, area felt very safe, lots of cheap eats nearby. The staff were very friendly. I actually stayed 4 nights later too as I found it so convenient to the train station and such good value for money.

I booked a room for 4 persons. got one on the first floor. the room was stinking, the furniture was VERY poor... the bathroom was dump and had a lot of mold. after complaining the manager gave us a better room for the last night on the 4th floor where all rooms seem to be newly renovated. If you book make sure that you get a room in 4th floor.

The room we had was lovely with a fantastic bathroom unfortunately there wasn't enough hot water to use the fancy bath! The lift was being fixed while we stayed there which meant walking up loads of stairs. The breakfast was pretty basic.

1. The reception is on the 1st floor while the rooms are on the 4th floor, that's probably why they've asked us to pay in advance. Also you have to ring a bell to let you in both at the main entrance and the entance to the rooms (safety reasons we guess) 2. There was a strong vinegar odour in the corridors after cleaning 3. Very quite rooms, rather clean and spacious, good heating 4. One night we didn't have any hot water 5. Quite good location and good quality/price considering you are in rome!

The people who mentioned the bad coffee (can't remember if it was the site or another one) aren't kidding. Stay away from that stuff (drink the tea instead) and you will be just fine :). The room was clean, neat and comfortable, if not overly large. The hotel was relatively easy to find if you follow the directions and it was within walking distance of the station but in a nicer/safer area. The staff were gracious and accommodating and even set out an early breakfast for us when we had to leave early to catch our train. The reception desk is also open 24hrs if you need to check in early or late or just have questions. I would definitely stay here again and would recommend it to others.

Hotel Louisiana's staff were very friendly/nice and very helpful on are stay in Rome. The rooms were very clean and the surrounding location was perfect, 10 minutes walk to termini and 25 to to Colosseum. I would definitely use their hotel again for the next time I stay in Rome. The only suggestion I can make is that if you need any help or have any concerns its best to get it from the day staff, they speak much better English then the staff members at night!! Ciao!!!!

Hotel is quiet, normal hotel for Euro travel. I would recommend this hotel, I don't remember if it said on the website, but breakfast is included. When I had to stay an extra night, hotel did not give me same price as Venere.com gave me, but I expected that. Hotel is very clean, shower drains slowly. I would go back again.

This hotel definitely needs a positive review! Whenever we'll be back in Rome will choose this hotel. The Friday + Saturday nights were more expensive: 90 EUR/night, the Sunday night was almost 60 EUR/night. The hotel is located in a great neighbourhood (in the vicinity are government ministers) only 5 minutes away from Piazza della Republica, safe to walk in late at night. Reception info, althought not clearly visible at the entrance (where it writes only "Louisiana Hotel") is located at the first floor. With the same entrance there is another hotel, and a few appartments. We had our room at the 5th floor. It was pretty quiet, not to mention some noisy italians presumably having some room next to ours.

The room was recently renovated, with very nice furnishings. I had a single room, which was very small - no room for a chair, but just what I needed. Staff was helpful; was able to leave luggage for a day. Did not get wake-up call requested. Bathroom and shower were clean and odorless (other reviewers complained of odors). Location is convenient to Termini, main train station, and walkable to tourist sights, fair number of restaurants and other services nearby.

hotel was good, but only considering what else is on offer in rome, and the prices. our double bedroom was nice & clean. hotel is situated in an old building, and different floors seems to be occupied by different "hotels". the lift was not working when we arrived. good location, and some nice restaurants on the same street. breakfast was AWFUL! really bad coffee, artificial "juice" and some biscuits wrapped in plastic. do not bother getting up for it! I guess it is ok for rome, but if this was elsewhere, I would not stay there.

We spent 5 nights in Hotel Louisiana and I would recommend it to all young people who want a quite stay and visit the city! It isn't a luxury hotel, but everything is clean, Antonio is very friendly but the rest of the office clerks don't speak english! The coffee and the orange juice is a bit strange, but the rest is ok! Top hotel in price/quality!

Our stay in rome was too short only 3 days, but we were happy with this 2 star hotel. On arrival stephan was very welcoming, our quad room was better than we expected, clean and roomy for a quad room with air conditining.Only one thing needed attention the shower rose needed replacing.Location was great 10 min walk to via nazionale great for shopping. This hotel is close to some attractions,so you can walk to trevi, spanish steps, etc.(or you can take the train)We actually walk to all the attractions from hotel louisana, take it slow its a great way to exprience Rome. All the staff here are very friendly,so thankyou to all we really enjoyed our stay and will recommend your hotel to our friends in Australia.

Once you get into the hotel, I found it to be clean, modern and comfortable. It's located on the 6th floor and there seems to be a different hotel located on each floor, which is confusing. However, the location was ideal and the room was very comfortable for my family of 5. It was walking distance to train station, Trevi Fountain and many other sights that we did not get to visit due to our short stay. A great find! Highly recommended.
USA, Jun 2007
A basic hotel near Termini in Rome. This is nothing spectacular, but it was clean, spacious and comfortable for the cost and proximity. The hotel is in a building shared with other hotels so make sure to check in on the second floor. The lift was essential for getting our luggage upstairs -- something to consider for less mobile travelers. I would stay here again if I was traveling through Termini.

The room was not ready upon arrival at 14.00 hours. I was given a room in the rather poor one star hotel Monaco at the first floor. It was said to be a twin but it was cramped. Take your earplugs with you because the breakfast room is next door. The tiny shower can only be used if you remove all objects from the bathroom. Breakfast was poor quality. The only positive things: helpful reception desk, clean room. Recommended for one night only.

On arrival we were given a small room with no window in the bedroom and the air conditioning system not working on a very hot evening. The staff were very reluctant to change our room and only did so at our insistence. The location of the hotel is very good, within walking distance to all the sights & railway station. The reception area is very poor and located in an office on the first floor. Breakfast was pretty average. The hotel is on the 4th floor and on one occasion, the lift was out of order and we had to climb the 8 flights. Overall, this is an average hotel, expensive for what you get, but this may very well be the case for all hotels in Rome.
Sweden, Apr 2007
the breakfast could be a little better, they didn´t have any healthy alternatives at all. otherwise everything was as expected and the location was super though we could walk to everything. the staff was nice and the shuttle from hotel to airport very good. i work as a front desk manager in a 4 star hotel in stockholm sweden and i also travel a lot. last time i was in roma i stayed in a 4 star hotel and the price was higher then and the difference from last time was the breakfast and the lobby area.

Great location, service lacking but we knew that going in- I've lived in Naples for 6 months and there is no customer service in this country it is nothing personal so don't take it that way and you'll be fine. Room was plenty big for two. Take note of pictures and street number before you go so you can find the hotel. Buss stop very close, makes it easy to get to train station and around town. Be very careful with personal belongins on busses. I lost my cell phone and saw 2 other people confront pickpocketers on bus. Breakfast was plenty, all the coffee, juice, milk, sweets, cereal you could want. Check-in up one floor when you walk in the front door and rooms on the 4th floor, elevator slow but working while we were there. For the price we paid it was a great deal, good places to eat and shop very near by. No view from room window, but who hangs out in hotel room in Rome?

The hotel is in a nice area, not too far from the major touristic attractions (20 min walking) and near to the main station (15 min walking). There are a few restaurants and coffee bars in the neighborhood. A couple of blocks north of the hotel seems to be a lively district.

The hotel is definitely a great choice, well located and within walking distance from most attractions in rome, if you like walking! It's safer than using the subway!!!!! However we felt a little overcharged, due to the room not being too spacious (though filled with the latest technology in entertainment :-D ) and the public areas being kind of worn out. In conclusion I'd suggest the hotel, but hope for a working elevator!

We stayed at Lusiana for 7 nights and where impressed by what we got for the money. Nice rooms, aircondition, always clean and a breakfast well above the italian standard. Also the location was good. Lots of good restuarants just around the corner and only 10 minutes walk to Termini. We can only recommend this hotel for everybody! Only negative thing was the rather small rooms, but that wasn't a problem since we were avay all day anyway.

The room was clean and air-conditioned but a bit cramped for a triple. The bathroom was fair but the shower was slightly dirty. The sign for the hotel is not clearly indicated...so you do not know on which floor the hotel is located (in the building there are 3 - 4 "hotels"). Finally, the staff was a bit rude upon arrival. He receieved a (seemingly non-urgent) personal cell call while checking us in and literally walked away for a few minutes. Quite unprofessional! However, despite these issues I probably would consider staying there again given the price, location, cleaniness, and A/C.

None of the rooms had direct telephones, and every time that one had a call needed to be in the reception area, but the receptionist/s were not happy with this. Firstly and importantly the hotel is known as Hotel Monaco. The plaque outside states this. The hotel is also on the first floor, this is not indicated anywhere on the building and wasnt mentioned on the website either. There is a lift but there can be problems with it. The location is very central,(walking distance to all places of interest and transport) rooms clean and adequate. Breakfast is not worth getting excited about: vending machines, small, white bread rolls and croissants. Not all the staff speak english but overall were pleasant and polite. The deposit on the room was taken early from my credit card, refunded and then taken again on the day I arrived ;-/ The only blemish on the whole experience is that this hotel does not adhere to the venere discount scheme. I have documentation stating I was entitled to the 4% discount and yet the hotel manager very abruptly told me that he is not aware of the scheme and that his prices are fixed. If you are not concerned about customer service and being spoken to impolitely then this hotel is perfect.
