rooms were on the small side. double room for 2 teenage boys was inadequately small. we should have asked for a change but did not. service not quite as impeccable as it should have been. some confusion on prices. one club card quoted lower rates although hotel did honor a different club count discount.

I was concerned with reviews (from this site) that mentioned the location of the property was too far removed from places guests wanted to visit. While the property is not in the prime tourist locales, we thought this was an added benefit because it was away from the noise and congestion of those venues. It was a nice retreat from the action of the central city, and only a $7 cab ride from even the most removed tourist venues (e.g., Vatican city which is across the river). Staff was delightful and full of appropriate recommendations, including traditional restaurants, the best pizzarias, the newest "in places", etc. The hotel is wonderfully maintained in the art deco style (which isn't for everyone) which was an added benefit. Beautiful common areas, felt as if you were returning home after a long day/night on the town.
