Clean and decent hotel and room. Have stayed there twice now - so definitely recommendable. Rooms are small but measures up to the requirements for a 3 star hotel. We never spend much time in the room, but for the limited time we are actually there it would be nice to have english speaking news channels. Street is quite noice at nights - so ask for a room facing the yard.

We had a very pleasant stay at La Petit. Everyone spoke English and were friendly and very helpful. We had a triple and it was small but clean. For the price, it was a good deal. Would recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking to stay in a small hotel.

This is a great little hotel in a very convenient area. It is clean, well maintained and easy to find with 24 hour reception. I can definitely recommend this hotel and we will stay here again. Of the six similar hotels in this location, Le Petit is the best by far and the staff were friendly and helpful.

My grade goes up because we were assigned a room with the nice terrace. I think it was a room upgrade. The room was renovated, clean and chic, but relatively small. Amenities were minimum (liquid soap attached on the wall in the shower and a shower cap only), but it is ok as we stayed for one night only. The hotel staff was very friendly. It was value for money.

Loved this little hotel! Gianni and staff were very helpful! The room was small but efficient. We had patio doors that opened onto a tiny terrace which was nice. The bathroom was a good size and the shower wasn't small. The location was great, close to all the sites in Rome. The breakfast was good; pastries, choice of coffees, cereal, juice...There were a couple of take-away restaurants right down the street, reasonably priced. Only negative we could think of was the bed was hard, but every bed in Europe seems to be very firm!!!

I stayed this hotel for 3 nights with my colleague. The room was extremely small for 2 adults, so my colleague and I were very uncomfortable during our stay in this hotel. There was no coffeepot in the room, so we asked front desk for it, but he told me that they didn't have any coffee port. The only thing we could do in the room was just sleeping or watching TV.

Good building, very good location and neibourhood. Hotel is just normal, nothing special, but nothing bad either. Rome is expensive in general, so their price is OK. I might stay there again, mainly for the location (10 minutes walk from Termini station). Staffs speak good English. Wireless internet is available in public area (the bar) but not in your room because of thick brick walls of a very nice typical 19th century apartment building.

The hotel and the room was very nice. The problem was the noise but it has not been that bad as I imagined. What I found very annoying is that breakfast was served only till 9.30. We never managed to get ready for it. The internet access was for free in the lobby (with your own computer). I don't understand why it did no waor 5 meters away in the rooms... In general, I would not mind coming back to the same hotel unless found really something special.

Hotel Le Petit was a great location and fine for a short stay. The morning breakfast room was fine and the service was great, the front desk was most accomodating and friendly. The rooms are small, the showers are small, the hair dryers not great. We had a room with a terrace, which was lovely, but the noise from the street made it almost impossible to get a good nights sleep. I'd request a room off the street if possible. Fortunately, I had my DVD player with headphones and movies that make me sleep, my husband suffered through the night even wearing ear plugs.

Super great hotel with very friendly and competent staff! Best location around all famous surroundings, historic places and shopping. Perfect for me and my sisters 3 day Rome vacation! Excellent also so close to Termini and the train to and from the airport. Taxi is no option for me, since they drive like crazy :) A big plus for the confirmation email when rooms were booked and the option to select twin or double bed and that my wish for a balcony room was considered and booked when we arrived! (Get it if you can :) Internet in the lobby is no problem to use, safetybox service at no extra charge. This hotel is caring, friendly and safe.

The reception staff were really helpful, Arranging a Taxi pickup at the Airport on arrival.Giving help for the buses / underground and directions to any destination. Breakfast was OK being cereal, pastries, meats, jam any bread. The location was ideal near the Train Station (5 min walk), Undergound (3 Min Walk) Taxis near by (at Republica 2 Min Walk). My only gripe about the hotel were 2 items, The Chamber Maids didn,t really tidy the room 100%, Dont get me wrong it was tidy but there were Cans left on the outside balcony, and quite dusty behind the lamp on the bedside table, (Quite easy lift dust GONE). My only other gripe was if you are going to have plants in the boxes on the Balcony Please water them before they die and clear out the cigarette Butts. Over all though we would stay there again and enjoyed our stay in Rome.

We had one of the recently renovated rooms, facing the street. It was not spacious, but clean and modern. Nice bathroom. The only negative thing is the morning traffic (which is quite heavy), if you have a window facing the street. Only 5 minutes walk from the train station.

Love the terrace. Noise came from removing scaffolding from Opera House which was accross the street. The comfort of the terrace more than compensated for it. Breakfast staff was very flexible making trays to bring back to the terrace. Very convenient to the Metro, train station and sightseeing bus routes.

It's a small, but very nice hotel, great communicated and within walking distance of the main attractions in Rome. The people working were extremely nice, polite and helpful, they really helped us to fully enjoy our time in Rome. Small but nice and clean rooms, the hotel is in the second floor and is fully renovated. The breakfast was good enough and the girls working there, were very friendly. I will come back!

The hotel was immaculate. The security was great. The staff were the most wonderful people, and helped us with our questions, and gave advice on how to make our stay more pleasurable.Vito and other desk managers were helpful in getting us picked up at airport, even when we came in on a different flight. The housekepping girls were sweethearts, and made sure we had everything we needed, whether it be our breakfast, or rearranging their cleaning time of room . It is a wonderful place to stay and has a great location for everything in Rome.

It was our first time we stayed at the Hotel Le Petit. First of all I would like to say that the location of the hotel was very good (not far from the Rome Termini). Employees at the hotel reception were very friendly and competent. They gave us all necessary information about cafes and small restaurants near the hotel. Also they described the possible ways of Rome sighseeing. As for the room it was clean and comfortable.

This was the final and most expensive hotel we stayed in during our 24-days in Italy and the most disappointing. It is far too expensive for what you get. We stayed in a quad which simply was a regular room with the sofa pulled out, consequently, very cramped quarters. My daughters, ages 10 and 12, complained that it was the most uncomfortable bed they had slept on, they could feel the bars underneath. The room was clean and modern but the shower is tiny. The breakfast was in a tiny, sweltering room and sparse. There wasn't a toaster available nor was fruit offered. It was nice that they offered free computer use but guests use the front desk's computer so there is no privacy and I felt rushed to get off. The location is good. It seemed perfectly safe and we easily walked to the Colisseum area and the metro stop is very close. We chose this hotel for its proximity to the train station so we could easily get to the airport for our 10 a.m. flight. In retrospect, we would have stayed at a less expensive hotel on the metro line and taken it to the train station instead of hoofing it.

Really charming hotel, perfectly located (walking distance from termini station). I would call it a great find, if I had discovered it myself instead of having found it on venere.com. When you take a look at it from the street you wouldn´t give it a second look as the facade is absolutely plain and doesn´t make justice to this very, very nice hotel. Rooms are very small, but since the roof is rather high, there is a sense of "small but confy". And they are very confortable, spotless, well laid out, and have everything you may need to have a good night´s sleep. The staff are very, very nice. Everyone I talked to, from the breakfast room ladies to the men in the reception. I arrived into Rome at midnight, tired after a delayed flight, and when I got to the hotel found a very nice, welcoming gentleman (a mature man whose name I didn´t ask) who is an example of what every front desk person should be. So based on my experience, I absolutely reccomend this hotel.

Great location, nice building, friendly staff. The actual room my wife and I stayed in was very small. The shower was very small and not a very comfortable experience. The hotel looked as if it had been recently renovated - new fixtures and fittings, etc. However some things did not work as they should. For example the shower door did not close fully and one put a spray of water on the floor every time one took a shower.

Le Petit is the best hotel we have been in during our stay in Rome. It is 2 blocks to the termini and either walking distance or a few train stops to the Spanish steps and Trevi Fountain. My brother, his wife, my sister, her husband and I stayed at this hotel. We were all highly satisfied. The balconies really added to the enjoyment of this hotel. Vito, Gianni, and the two wonderful women who served breakfast and cleaned the rooms were outstanding and made our stay memorable. Being near transportation, shopping and most of the important monuments, ruins, fountains and good restaurants was perfect. Vito and Gianni made our tour & restaurant reservations, made taxi calls, and ordered our return shuttle to the airport. Couldn't have been more pleased!!!!

Hotel is in convenient location. Lobby and entrance is very clean. Breakfast was good. Room was very small for 3 people and bathroom was very small. Beds were the hardest we slept on in Italy. On one night of the stay, the electricity must have gone out in middle of night and security light came on shining directly on our bed. We didn't know what was happening and discovered there were no instructions in the room on how to call the front desk. The next morning when we asked what happened, the front desk staff had no idea.

Overall the hotel is ideal - well located (less than a minute from the metro) and the hotel staff are very pleasant. The only negative point fom the trip was that the air conditioning didn't work - we arrived early on a Saturday and highlighted it straight away but it wasn't fixed even on Monday despite promises to do so. We were lucky that we could leave the window open during the day and it wasn't too hot at night. During the summer this would not have been an option. Apart from this it was great - would stay there again.

Arriving after a longhaul flight from Australia I was greeted by Gianni who was warm and welcoming! In fact all of the reception staff were extremely friendly and helpful during the duration of our stay. The accommodation and facilities of Hotel Le Petit exceeded our expectations - the staff of the breakfast room were very pleasant and the breakfast itself was great. The location of the hotel was ideal for easy access to the Metro and local buses to 'get around' in Rome. This property provided far better value than hotels we have stayed in on (3) previous visits to Rome.Overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this hotel to visitors to Roma!

The staff was very efficient, friendly but not overly so. The rooms were very clean with a modern edge. If you are expecting big rooms then you will be dissappointed but they are not any smaller than other hotels we stayed at in Rome. We stayed in the balconied double one night (get it if available!) and a standard double the other. The standard is tight but we didn't spend much time in the room other than sleeping, nor should you! As for noise, it is no different than any other hotel (pricey or cheap) that has double paned glass and faces the street. We slept good, and my fiancee is a light sleeper. The only complaint would be that the doors to the room should be heavier and soundproofed, to cut out hallway noise. If you had a noisy group in the hall that would definitely wake you up. There is not much to see on your door step but a short walk(3-5mins) gets you to the metro and a 10+ minute walk gets you by the Trevi fountain and some other sights. For us this was good because walking really is the best way to get a feel for how big and little the city really is, and catch some small architectural details you wouldn't have caught otherwise. If the price is right and you aren't planning to spend the day in your room, it is a great find. Get the Balcony room, pick up some drinks from the nearby store and enjoy the sounds of the roman streets as you wait for eachother to get ready for your night out!

The room was small but fine for the price. It could have been quieter; even though it was on the fourth floor it was still a bit loud. However the location was great and for being so central it wasn't too loud. The breakfast was bigger than the typical Italian breakfast, with a lot of hot drinks on offer.

Le Petit was perfect for our one night stay. I'm not sure if we would like to spend a week there, but for a convenient, well situated nice clean and comfortable room at a good price for Rome, this place was perfect. We had a balcony,(just french doors really as we couldn't get out) and a decent sized, newly renovated room (felt it wasn't quite done), with a third sleeper which doubled as a cushy lounge chair(no extra) . We did read other comments, and from this I get the impression that the room we had was definitely one of the better, but we were both very happy all round. We initially missed the street to turn into, but once there, we found we were very happy with the location. Breakfast was ordinary, with no ham, being a one night stay tho, it wasn't really a problem. The front counter staff were helpful and friendly and welcoming, but, being such a small hotel, I think the service was dependant upon the individual on shift at the time. I would definitely stay there again.

Le Petit perfectly served as a rest stop between our arrival in Italy and our rail trip to Umbria. Since we were only staying for one night we didn't make special requests. We received a very small, but comfortably appointed and sound-insulated room next to the Reception area. Coming from Manhattan, we thought it was still a good deal at 160E. The staff were very welcoming and knowledgeable about the many sights in the area. At night, the streets around the hotel were well lighted and felt safe. The only discrepancy we feel necessary to point out is that the 300m distance measures only from the edge of the Termini parking lot to the hotel. Note that the station itself is vast and the lot is a few blocks long, so if you're not a light packer be prepared for a schlep.

We really liked the hotel. It had the usual problems you find with older European hotels--small rooms, no-frills bathrooms and breakfast. We picked this hotel because it is in a really convenient location, just off Via Nationale, easy walk to the train Terminal and (Republica) metro station. Prices were reasonable by Rome standards and it was one of the few places that had rooms available on the dates we were going to be in Rome. And it had a room with a great little terrace that you see in the hotel pictures. Traffic is noisy, but the windows are amazingly sound-proof, and they have air conditioning. It had a good shower (none of those miserable hand-held things). The hotel is on the second-to-fourth floors in a building undergoing renovations. It will be gorgeous once that's done. The front-desk staff and breakfast-room staff were very helpful and friendly. Breakfast was not fancy, but included capuccino, bread and croissants with pates and jams and cookies, plus juice and a selection of cereals, including All Bran.

There never was a quiet moment at this hotel. We stayed for 3 nights and couldn't sleep one whole night during our entire stay. The night-staff brought all their friends over so we had to listed to loud conversations in Italian... We liked the area and the closeness to Termini but everything else was really bad.

Gianni helped us with everything we needed and things we didn't even know we needed. The hotel was very close to all transportation. It was wonderful in every way. If you need internet access, the rooms on the first floor have it in the rooms but they are working on all the floors. They were very kind and let me use the one at reception and print anything I needed to get my work done. I would definitely go there again.

Good location in Roma, the bit difficult to find the hotel as it was on 2nd and 4th floor. The hotel a bit small but very clean and neat. The staff are very friendly and helpful especialy Mr Vito. The breakfast is good with very sweet and friendly tea-lady. The overall stay is good.

We requested 2 twin beds, but on arrival, they put us in a room with 1 queen bed, and a pull out chair. Had this for 2 nights, and then put us in a room with 2 twins. Other than that, room and hotel were great.

Very good location - very close to subway, the train station (within walking distance), and several other sights. Rooms were recently upgraded and were very modern, which was nice. Rooms were a bit small, and fairly noisy, as it is on a pretty busy street. The staff was very helpful, and they even upgraded our room for a night. The breakfast was subpar - it mostly consisted of biscuits and jelly, and even the coffee wasn't that good - I would recommend skipping it and going elsewhere. Overall, a pretty good deal, as long as you don't plan on spending a lot of time in the hotel.

Le Petit can be seen as a practical hotel. It's location is quite close to the train terminal and this is probably its biggest selling point. For actively touring Rome, however, I'm not terribly fond of this area of town -- I prefer something around Piazza Navona as a nice central base of operations. I stayed at Le Petit after returning to Rome from Napoli and waiting on a flight out. The staff was really helpful and both they and the season were very accomodating considering that I showed up a day earlier than my reservation. The hotel offers both a room with a terrace and a room without, which during the time I stayed (11/05) cost the same per night. With the rooms being small and the price being equal it sure pays to opt for the terrace. On the bad side, the hotel doesn't offer quality Internet access - at the time I stayed, Internet access was provided in the main lobbey behind the check-in counter. Both privacy and atmosphere were wrong. Also, the breakfast here generally sucks - just very bland, no buffet-style pick-and-choose, but a lot of prepackaged material. Rooms and bathrooms were clean, staff was great, and I'd stay there again if the circumstances were appropriate.

We were very satisfied - the room was tiny as expected, but newly decorated, nice colors and clean. Very friendly staff!!! The breakfast(which was included, which we didn't expect) was nothing to brag about. Excellent location! Our friends stayed next door and payed 3 times the price we did, we know we got the better deal!

The hotel's location near the Termini was convenient, and we were able to walk with our luggage to and from the hotel. A better map of the location would be helpful, however. The hotel is near a Metro stop and a major shopping area. Our room, recently renovated, was small but very nice. The entire staff was extremely courteous and helpful, and the continental breakfast was adequate. Although the breakfast room is small, we had no problem finding seating; the late risers may have had to wait a few minutes for a table. We would definitely stay at LaPetit again.

WOW, what a find in the heart of Roma for the price, breakfast included. This charming hotel has just been refurbished and is just lovely. The rooms are small (like most european hotel rooms) but very clean and quite. The bathroom was new and well appointed with fluffy hot towels. The staff at the front desk were the best! They were more than helpful with all of our needs and they even allowed us to use the internet free of charge. We would recommend this hotel to all of our family/friends visiting Roma. It is a great value in an expensive city. Ten thumbs up!

The hotel staff were just terrific. Very helpful with everything that was asked of them from making dinner reservations to giving directions to allowing us access to their computer for internet use. The rooms were very comfortable and we absolutely suggest getting a room with a balcony.

The front desk staff was amazing. One of them took care of locating our lost luggage with Alitalia. The room was small, but amazing. There is a little market right next door, and a metro station just steps away. I would certainly stay here again.

I visited 6 cities in 5 countries in Europe on this trip and this hotel room was the smallest of the six. That being said, the bed was comfortable and the staff welcoming and helpful. The location was excellent. Since I was traveling alone I requested a single. I'm likely to stay here again, but next time I will ask for a double so I can have a larger room.

As the hotel name suggests, rooms are really small, but very nicely furnished and decorated. The bathroom was really excellent, very modern and clean as can be. TV and AC were working. The hotel is located in a quiet side street of Via Nazionale, just 4 or 5 minutes by foot from Termini railway station. The surrounding is safe. Via Nazionale has a lot of great shopping facilities, and all major attractions can easily be walked. The staff is very friendly and they speak good English. The breakfast is poor, but that didn't matter to me because I usually prefer to have my coffee and something to eat in those small cafes or bars that you find everywhere, one right next to the hotel. My overall rating: I really enjoyed my staying at the Le Petit and I would certainly go there again!

The Hotel Petit is a lovely hotel if you don't mind the lack of space. It was quite expensive for what it was but then it's hard to get good cheap accommodation in Rome. The service was excellent and the staff were always on hand to help without being intrusive. When we stayed we had a terrace room which was nice from the point of view of having fresh air but the view from it was pretty much into the apartments across the street. Also, the terrace added the extra space to the room that we needed so it was worth the extra money. Overall, the stay in the hotel was very good and an enjoyable experience. We were in Rome for a wedding and the rest of the wedding party were in several different hotels and speaking with the others ours compared very well. I would definately recommend the hotel for its service, cleanliness and location. We have been in a few different hotels in Rome at this stage and the Petit is the only one I would consider staying in again. Slán.

Four couples stayed in four rooms. Mine was by far the smallest with room for only a bed and the lights so dim, I thought I was in a cave. I had to use my flashlight to find my clothes in the closet. The other rooms all had desks, bright lights and were much larger than mine. The rooms were very clean. The hotel occupies the 2nd and 4th floor of a very old and not very appealing office building. The staff was friendly and helpful. I would stay here again if I was assured of a larger room. We all paid the same price for very different quality in the accommodations.

Never go back!!! Noisy, lousy breakfast ,bad air-con and etc..... We had awful nites during there. When we were there, the hotel was renovatting. And it's not like a hotel, but a student dorm... It's ok for us. We did have very bad memory there. For example, when we took shower in the little showerroom, the water became cold and hot suddenly and the light was on and off. There was not direct line at room(we can't believe it.) And there was no cable TV at the room. The breakfast was the worse one during my whole trip in Europe. I don't know why the rating was good here? I really doubt it! The only good parts were the location and the hotel staff were nice to us. I really wanna know how it could be charged the rate and I would really like to complain it!!

Petit was in the middle of moving floors and extensive renovations. This did not affect my visit as the staff were wonderful delivering breakfast to my room two minutes after my call.I was the first person to be in a brand new room which, though very small, was sparkling and had everything I needed.

The website only stated "Quad'" for our need of a room for our family of 4. But it didn't state what type of beds were available for this eg, 4 twins or a double and 2 twins or a double and a couch for 2 etc. thankfully we were accommadated quite well and the rooms were lovely. The staff was so nice, and we would definately stay again and recommend this hotel. It is definately in a great location.

My husband had a lovely time in Rome. In going into the hotel, I was disappointed. It is in an office building on the 4th floor. THe entrance of this office building was run down. Once on the fourth floor of the building I was in the "hotel". The place smelled very strongly of cigarrete smoke since the clerk was smoking. He was very nice, but a bit put off that I wanted to see the room before we brought all of our things up. The room was very small, but also very clean and did not seem to smell of the cig. smoke. The man explained that the hotel was a work in progress, he explained that the next week they were opening another floor of the building for the hotel. THe public area was also very small and cramped. The breakfast was ok although no fresh fruit. We did find in the days that followed that we had to put a towel infront of the door to keep the smoke out. Infact when we went on to our next destination all of our clothes smelled of smoke. I do want to say that it was VERY clean and for the price was a nice stay. The smoking was our biggest complaint. We stayed for 3 nights. THe area around the hotel was convienent to the public transportation.

Lobby on 4th floor so don't get worried. Excellent location and excellent hotel. The name of the hotel is Le Petit so the small rooms were no suprise. That is why we reserved the balcony room. Breakfast on the balcony was our spot to strategize our day and a relaxing glass of wine on the balcony at night was where we reviewed the day!! We will stay there again....
