An hotell with a fantastic location, just across the road and then at the beach. Okey Italian breakfast. Surroundings is full of restaurants and just a short walk to the railwaystation to take train to Rome. The peolpe in the reception was very helpful and friendly.

The location close to the airport yet close to the beach is fabulous. The rooms are very simple and not particularly comfortable; for example there is no shelf space at all in the bathroom. The breakfast is very limited. Parking is very challenging and the hotel has no answer. The Wireless Internet service is very important to me and is excellent.

The hotel was fine - it was a one night stop before flying out. We stayed out late though and the hotel was locked up. It took awhile to find the buzer and for someone to come and let us in. Breakfast was one small croissant and packaged toast. Great Cappuccinos though and we could have two. We had dinner at Il Tino - fantastic if you like seafood and excellent wine. The room was good for what we needed.

My plan was to spend a night in Ostia Lido for a refreshing seaside break the night before catching the plane home at nearby Leonardo da Vinci airport. My room was spacious, clean, with a balcony and view of the sea. The air conditioning worked fine but I did not need it much thanks to the ocean breeze through the shutters. I visit Italy annually and I will galdly stay here again.

Good place to stay in a good location. Great to have WIFI included. Can't recommend the restaurant downstairs, though.

we picked this location as a convenient base for travelling into Ostia Antica and Rome. The hotel is very close to the metro station and the journey into Ostia Antica takes 5 minutes (trains run every 10 minutes.) Journey into Rome is about 40 minutes. There are several restuarants nearby and the beach is opposite the hotel. The hotel small is friendly and welcoming family run place. The room we were in was spacious however there is limited hanging space for clothes nut plenty of drawer space. All rooms have a balcony and the doors effectively block out any road noise. However the showers in the bathroom are small and can take a little negotiating to get in/out off and actually wash. One final note, there is no lift so this hotel is not rally suitable for people who have difficalty with stairs (thre are no ground floor rooms).

We completely enjoyed our stay here! It is a beautiful hotel, with very friendly staff. This was the first stay in our 2 week Italian vacation. We flew in to the Leonardo DaVinci airport and took a bus to Ostia Lido. The hotel is also very close to the train station. We got the family room, there were two adults and one 12 year old boy. The room was not large but big enough to suit the purpose. It looked like new construction, very modern and comfortable. Our room had large window/balcony that looked out to the gorgeous sea. It was amazing! You walk out of the hotel and across the street and you are on the beach. There are many restaraunts and apparantly a very lively night scene. That was the one downfall. It was very noisy come night time. There is a club of some sort right across the street that had loud techno music playing throughout the night. Made sleeping difficult. We arrived Friday night, by Sunday all the cars and crowds were gone. So a weekday stay is probably more quiet. The staff was great! The older woman there (owner?)was so sweet to our 12 year old. The dinner was wonderful and breakfast was crouissant and espresso. Just what one needs. The beach access is mostly private. One public access is outside to the right about a block.

Arriving on a Saturday afternoon, we were given a lovely room on the 1st floor (2nd to Americans) facing the sea. The hotel's run by a father, mother and son. They were extremely friendly and helpful. Their restaurant on the premises was the best food we ate on the lido. The hotel's very convenient to Fiumicino; across the street from sea bathing (even a free entrance to the right and down a block); included a free breakfast of delicious brioche and expresso (milk for the kids); has many restaurants within walking distance; and, was a few blocks walk to the Lido di Ostia Centro train and bus station. For the price, location, cleanliness and convenience, we thought the hotel was terrific. We walked to the train station--about 7 blocks. It took three EASY train changes to reach the Spanish Steps, but only two to reach Termini Station--about 30 minutes. We trained right past Ostia Antica and its train station. The only drawback was that we arrived on a Saturday in early June, and the Lido was alive. Noise from the restaurants across the street made us close the windows only to notice the busy restaurant below. You may request a room on the back side of the hotel (and miss the lovely sea view) or a room on an upper floor if you go to bed early--if not, enjoy the wonderful life and bustle of Rome and the Lido di Ostia! (The room was VERY quiet on Sunday night.) We brought driving directions in Italian from the hotel's website to give to the taxi driver from the airport. Smart move! A lot of FCO drivers are unfamiliar with Ostia. 40 euro to hotel with heavy traffic; only 26 euro on the return to FCO with no traffic. The owners made taxi arrangements for us the night before we left. We'll definitely return to this hotel on our next trip! My kids liked La Caravella better than hotels and apartments from previous trips to Rome. Rooms have AC units we did not use.
