Hotel Kriss is a very fine hotel, when you come inside, the surroundings are not so lucky. The breakfast is poor, 2 toastbread and 1 crossaint, the hotel could do it better. The rooms are very clean and nice, everything are fine - a friendly tone.

For the economy traveller who wants easy access to the University of Rome (La Sapienza) or to the metro and Termini, this simple well air- conditioned hotel is all one could want, and more than one would expect, for the E50 price .

Inside it is a much nicer hotel than from outside. The room was clean, everything was proper and I had a really good stay.

The hotel was nice and the staff very helpful. It's very close to the metro, but a little hard to find for the first time. The rooms are very clean, but a little small. This is probably better for younger people and people who don't plan on spending much time in the room.

Good location, 200 m from Metro, line B, buses and tram. Quiet area, with poor offer of restaurants or places to eat. Reception in first floor without lift makes uncomfortable the access with luggage. The lift was not in service and stairs had to be used to access the rooms. Helpful people in reception.

I went there for professionnal reasons: the hotel (due also to very rude neighbors) was very noisy. Breakfast was excessively light.

The only bad thing was that there was something wrong with the light in our room the first night,so they put us in another hotel that they own for one night. That place was a complete dump.It had a good location, but was a disaster in everything else.Breakfast could have been a bit richer.Old and small elevator-we were on the first floor,so we did not use it,but some other people got stuck in it.

Clean rooms, recently renewed, but very noisy. The entrance, reception and situation are poor. (Picture ringing the door next to garage, guy at desk is watching very loud soap tv.) Underground/Metro is very near by and cheap local restaurants as well (not the one in the same street)

The first night we were sent to another hotel owned by the same owner - the reason given was that our room needed to be fixed. The other hotel was very bad standard (broken lights, mold on ceiling, broken toilet seat, no hot water), but we needed to pay the same money. The other nights our room was provided at Kriss. However, the floors were dirty with dust everywhere. The last night we were also directed to the other hotel.

This is a very reasonably priced hotel in a quiet location within walking distance of the main Termini station. Breakfast was simple but nice, the rooms were very clean and were of a good standard.

I stayed for two nights in the Kriss. It is very nicely located in a clean and safe area of Rome close to the metro and Univ. or Rome. The hotel rooms are very clean and quiet. The air-condition is very weak to handle the humid Rome summer. The staff are very friendly but their English is too bad. The problem is there is no elevator to the rooms, this is the worst problem of the hotel but the staff carry the luggage if asked and they expect tips in return. Khaled, Cairo, Egypt

Location is handy for metro and trams, but no shops or supermarkets that I could find. The retaurant 70m up the road is good; we used it more than once. Reception is on the first floor with no lift access to it.

The room was a smoking room, but it had a large window and a bathroom with window, so it was easy to chenge the air. Everything else was OK.

Very loud. With both outside noise and people returning to their rooms. Difficult to find but fairly close to the metro. The staff did not speak English at all except for one person and he didn't know it too much.

Quartiere tranquillo e comodo (stazione Termini a piedi).

Pros: - good price for the location - university district, feels quite safe at night, worth the extra euros for not taking a hotel near the main station. - Metro line B + tram line 3 only 2 mins walk from hotel - only 4 stops from Colosseum and 2 stops from main station - clean bathroom, looked fairly new - security: only people were let onto the corridors that had just picked up their key - great coffee for breakfast Cons: - not enough breakfast, which consisted of one small glass of juice, 1 hot beverage, 1 sweet croissant, 2 small zwieback (biscuits) with 1 jam and 1 butter - don't be fooled by the pictures online: the reception, bar and breakfast room are all in one small room of about 30 square metres. - personnel not necessarily friendly - they switch off the air conditioning whenever they feel like it which leaves you waking up sweating because you had the windows shut relying on the AC. You can call 9 on the telephone and ask them to switch it back on again - but they don't tell you that at check-in. - fire exits on the corridor that close very loudly On arrival: the guy at the reception wasn't welcoming at all because we had disturbed him listening to football on the radio. He didn't tell us about the custom of switching off the air conditioning (and other infos), we found out 3 days later when we asked what was wrong with it. Also, your breakfast will not be as important as a pretty Italian woman hanging around waiting for someone. However, the other personnel was quite ok and sometimes fairly friendly. Conclusion: We had expected worse for the price, so we were positively surprised. It's obviously a good hotel for people who go to Rome to enjoy the city without needing a luxury room, but want at least a clean, safe room that's close to the city centre. Hint: use tram line 3 as it has a great air conditioning as opposed to Metro B, which is stuffy.

Okay - first thing to know about this hotel is to let taxi drivers know that it is near the Policlinico (hospital) - Some cabs had a hard time finding it - especially from the airport. And - the night desk clerks don't speak english - the morning guy did and was very helpful, booked tours, gave great information, etc... The hotel is 1/2 block from the metro, so it is very easy to get around town. Thin walls though...could hear the man snoring in the next room. But you can't beat the bargain rates - everyone was super nice and it was very clean! Don't let the outside scare you as you enter - it looks like a parking garage! I'm a woman travelling alone and felt very safe.

This is a small hotel, built into an apartment building hidden between several apartment buildings. It is easily accessible via the subway, and had an A/C which is very important for a late May visit in Rome. It seems to have recently been renovated, and the decor, as well as the furniture and bathrooms were just great. The one irritation about this hotel was that if we switched off the a/c, we'd never be able to switch it on again without going to the front desk to ask them to reset the a/c. Maybe this is a power saving measure. On our first night we just opened the window, and it was just fine -- a bit of the outside noise which is minimal in this residential neighborhood. Some of the staff could not speak English, however, it was easy to communicate with them for all the normal things one would need to do at a hotel (check in, reset the a/c, get breakfast). All in all, this was a great deal.
