Bedroom was tiny, hardly enough room for two people. However, the bed and pillows were very comfortable and the bed linen was of a high quality. The bathroom was a good size and very clean with shower gell, soap and shower hats provided daily and always a good supply of hot water. The buffet breakfast provided was very good, but the Breakfast room was very small only about 10 tables provided so it could get very crowded. The staff on reception were extremely helpful especially Rosa who did her very best to make our stay happy.

A had a very nice stay (6 nights) in hotel julia. the staff were very friendly, prices were ok, the breakfast was good, comfort on the room was ok (although it was a little bit small). my room didn’t have a separate bath room, but it was just the next door and i can’t complain about it. (i might even have been the only person on the whole floor who had to use this bath room, apart from the staff). i would recommend it.

I think this hotel is just about average and "oldish", the bedroom was very small for two, it was stuffy inside, when I asked for another bedroom, the employee said he didn't have any, no hot water in the shower, breakfast was enough but not varied. it seriously needs to be modernized.

Paper thin walls, could hear EVERYTHING from next door, hallway and outside. Hot water pressure intermittent. Internet was difficult to receive. Room was very small, one metre around the bed was all the space. One English tv channel, BBC news. With all the tourists in Rome more variety of channels could be provided. Fire alarm went off at 3am. and staff did not know how to turn it off ..,. took one hour. Superb location, close to attractions and a great breakfast . Still ... not worth the price!!!!

Nice place, plenty of restaurants, near to Piazza di Spagna and other touristical sites by walking distance as well as the Barberini Metro Station, but as usual, the shower/bathroom is tiny as in any hotel placed in ancient neighboourhoods in any big European City. Take it!

I had a single room # 401. The room had one twin bed and another even a narrower bed. The mattress in the twin bed was old and dirty and lumpy. I chose the narrower bed, because of the better mattress. The floor of that end of the room was slanting and I was almost falling from the bed. I had to put something under the legs of the bed to get it even, but every day the cleaning ladies took of my rises. The lamp over the sink did not have light for the whole time (six days).BUT, the location was great. I could walk almost everywhere.

The room was so small and noise in the hall and outside was completely unblocked. The shower was down the hall. You may be up for that, but I discovered I was not. I did not think this was a good value at all for the money.

Conveniently located on a quiet side street and within walking distance of most of the big Rome must-see sights. Was so dark and quiet we slept 16 hours and missed breakfast the first day. I rated it a 7, though, because the queen size bed was quite hard - like sleeping on concrete. Our room had a single bed, too, but the single wasn't quite as bad. Breakfast was good.

Average hotel, OK for 1-2 nights, but not longer. It could be much better if the staff cared a little more. The light in the bathroom was out of order when I checked in at 15:00 on a weekday and I was told the maintenance person had already left for the day and nothing could be done until the next morning. The room was very small and the furniture arrangement a little unique. I had a room with shared bath, which was good, but also used as a laundry room of sorts, so it was a little crowded. The WC in the room was very convenient. There's free wi-fi, but it's impossible to connect. They did let me use the computer in the back office, which I was very thankful for. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent. The location is great, just two blocks from the Metro A Barberini station and within walking distance of most attractions. There's a grocery store down the road, which was very convenient.

Excelent location, close to Metro line A and within walking distance of most attractions. You notice a great difference in the level of engagement of the different members of staff - some couldn't care less, and others are very attentive and helpful. The fan in room 303 has a 180 minute timer and the fan goes off after that time, wihch makes sleeping quite uncomfortable on warm nights. The safe in the room was locked when I arrived and it took 3 requests before anyone bothered to fix it the evening before my departure, so not much use. The breakfast buffet is pretty decent. This is an OK budget place, probably better during cooler seasons. You can probably get better quality for the same money at other places.

We stayed at Hotel Julia for 3 nights. Upon arrival we received a friendly welcoming despite arriving earlier than the actual check in time specified. Hotel is a stones throw away from Trevi fountain and many of the other major tourist attractions. Breakfast was varied and adequate. Overall a good hotel :-)

My stay at Hotel Julia was quite pleasant. The staff was very kind and helpful. Evening staff were the most fluent in English and Luca definitely excelled. The breakfast was plentiful with lots of variety. Kitchen staff made espresso and cappuccino to order. That said, my hotel room was the smallest room I've ever had. But the room, as well as the rest of the hotel, was very tastefully and beautifully decorated. The street it's on is a bit dark and intimidating at night, but the area, you'll find, is very safe. Very close to the Barberini metro stop in the Termini area. I'd absolutely recommend the Julia and would stay there again on my next trip to Rome.

The main comment was the smallness of the room which as we did not stay anywhere else in Italy I have nothing to compare with. The t.v. was high on the wall and too far away to view, On the positive the bed was very comfortable, the location was fabulous walking to Trevi area and to the subway. Breakfast was very good which was continental but plenty including fresh ham.

The Hotel Julia is right in the middle of Rome, within walking distance to all main attractions and to bus stops. It is located in a rather quiet street near Palazzo Barberini, and it is a good hotel to explore the city. I stayed for three nights and got a double room for single use - so there was enough space. The little bathroom smelled a bit because of mould, but everything else was fine. I will definately come back to Hotel Julia.

The Julia Hotel is comfortably situated within walking distance of most of the major sights of Rome's historical centre. It is well-kept, clean, provides a decent breakfast buffet, and it is quiet. Given the fact that hotel prices in Rome are fairly high, the Julia Hotel offers excellent value for the room rate. I would not hesitate to go there again

We enjoyed our stay at Hotel Julia. Very well centrally located within walking distance of Trevi Fountain, Pantheon, and campo Navonna. Clean rooms, good air conditioning. Decent breakfast. Initially I was taken aback by the fact that my room didn't have air-conditioning and no shower in the bathroom (there was one in a shared bathroom next door), even though this is supposed to be a three star hotel. Besides, with temperatures soaring over 100 F in Rome, these are the only two things that you really need. Oh, and it's also worth mentioning that the hotel is located in the middle of a steep slope in a narrow alley where cabs won't go. Once I got over these issues, the stay wasn't too bad. The concierges were courteous and understood english, and the location of the property is prime in terms of its proximity to all the touristy sites. I was also told that double bedrooms have both shower and A/C, so my reservations probably don't hold there. I would recommend this hotel to couples or people willing to shell out more for a double bedroom. Can't beat the location.

Aside from the good location between the metro and Trevi, my gripe with Hotel Julia is that I stayed in a single and the room given had wooden beams running halfway through the bathroom. On top of that, there seemed to have been some issues with drainage with the bathroom because after a shower, it smelled of must (perhaps compounded by that wooden beam). The regular price of 280 was way overpriced for what it provided.

This is probably the problem of many *** hotels - smell in the bathroom... that hard to eliminate. Yes, the hotel equiped with fan etc... but seems like that's the problem with old pipes and humidity... Otherwise - everythings' fine. Location is great - right in front of Barberini Palace (Art Galery). Quite street with interesting antiques repair workshops :-))) Take away pizza, wine etc on the nearby corner. Subway station (Barberini)within 4 minutes walk.

The single room was the smallest I have ever been in opening the wardrobe door interfered with the window shutters - there was a smell in the room which they never sorted or moved me. The fellow at the desk was hostile to me and my group. Two of us are American, one is German. He was reluctant to help with the simplest requests. His response to simple questions was dismissive and arrogant. My group and I typically stay in Rome 1-4 nights each year around this time. Most everywhere I have stayed in Rome over the past 13 years I have been greeted warmly and was offered kind and friendly service. This fellow was the only hotel receptionist who was truly obnoxious.

Hotel Julia is conveniently located close to the Metro stop at Barberini, just two stops away from Termini. It is also very conveniently located close to the Trevi fountain and near the San Silvestro bus terminal and Piazza di Spagna. The hotel also has an old lift that is useful, especially if you are tired of carrying luggage up stairs. The rooms have a phone, which is useful if it is cheaper for your family to call you through landlines. However, the hotel reception staff were not able to help out much with bus information, tourist information or good local restaurant tips. The rooms were tiny and looked shabby, though I must say they were cleaned promptly every day. I was also not comfortable with the idea of sharing a bathroom down the hallway with all the rooms along that corridor. Fortunately, at least a tiny toilet had been provided within the room and one had to only access the common bathroom for accessing the shower. Also, one could hear the people talking in the next rooms. The room had only one table fan which was not enough, if one happened to return to the room in the afternoon during summer. The hotel did not have a restaurant and only served breakfast. This was mostly quite cold and unappetizing. I don't think I would stay in Hotel Julia again.

Hotel Julia is quite a nice hotel for the price considering it's location: 5-10 minute walk downhill to Trevi Fountain. The rooms were quite small but on a hot June days the airconditioning worked well and the tiny shower worked well enough. Breakfast was included and was quite nice with nice breads, meats and pastries daily. As Rome goes Hotel Julia gives you a comfortable convenient place to come back to at a "Rome reasonable" rate. The staff was very courteous and pleasant.

Tutto bene. Pulito e abbastanza silenzioso. Personale gentile. La colazione niente di eccezionale, ma sufficiente. Più che adeguato al prezzo. Lo consigliamo.

Location, location, location! I loved that I was only 15 minutes walk from The Spanish Steps, and 10 minutes amble from the Trevi Fountain. Very centrally located - and this was a plus as I was travelling by myself - the area was secure and central. And seeing as I walked my feet off every day, it was a pleasant relief to have such a quiet little room in which to restore my energy for the next day of sightseeing. I arrived in the middle of the Italy - France game, but the gentleman on Reception was still very attentive (and that was an important game after all) - very authentic! Great value for money paid. Once again Venere came through with the goods - I've booked via Venere on quite a few trips now, and have never yet been disappointed. The information is clear, there are no surprises, and it is easy to find just the type of accommodation needed.

We enjoyed our 3 night stay in June. Hotel Julia was just like we expected it to be based on our Venere.com research, and in fact was a bit better. On the plus side against our expectations were the courteous service at all hours, the nice, quiet room facing the rear (view of the offices at The Quirinale), and the quiet efficiency of the remotely-controlled digital (!) room air conditioner. American hotels have nothing like it that I've seen. Do I go to Rome to check on A/C? Of course not, but in the summertime it's just one more little thing that helps make traveling a pleasure because I can sleep well on hot nights. As for negatives, I guess it's down to getting fewer goodies at the breakfast table on those mornings when we got down there 15 minutes before the breakfast service ended. It did not exactly ruin our day. Exploring Rome for the first time was a pleasure!

I was on my own for one night in Roma and needed to be well-located in the city center. The hotel Julia really complied with my wishes as it was closed to Trevi Fountain and the shopping area, the room was clean and the breakfast was ok (included in the price). I really recommand this hotel!

I loved my stay in Rome, Hotel Julia is perfectly located. Walking distance from Barberini Station. Very close to Trevi Fountain and restaurants. Easy walking distance to many things if you want to make a day of it, during our stay in Rome we saw most things on foot, enjoyed walking to shopping strips, spanish steps, Piazza Navora, Pantheon, even walked to Palantino. Hotel Julia rooms were comfortable, Rome accommodation is typically small, these rooms were ok. Rooms were clean and bathroom is new. Didn't eat any food at the hotel. Easy to get to the hotel from Airport by Train, however recommend using the hotel shuttle service that is very reasonably priced and quick.

Olimpio restaurant two blocks from the hotel was excellent and reasonably priced. I loved this location and the value for the money. Staff was courteous, hospitable, and fun to talk with. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Rome.

Had a bit of difficulty finding street as some streets are not clearly marked. Price point for spotless clean property so centrally located is excellent. Room small but very clean. Gave a lower score on public areas only because middle of night smoking filtered up into my room. I think smoking was in front doorway to street.

We got the suite and it was a very big room so I have no complains about the room contra the price. I have no problems recomending this hotel to anyone, the only complain was that the breakfast was very poor but still overall I give our stay a 10.

Overall, Julia is a good hotel. I was disappointeed to see carpet in my room, and the single bed was not very comfortable. The breakfast was good, but as mentioned by others, I had to request that items be replenished in the buffet. Also mentioned by others, the female staff and older gentleman were very helpful, but the younger man who sometimes staffs the desk appears not to like tourists very much????

Friendly welcome, well located for seeing nearly everything in Rome by foot; quiet place, good service from reception people; rooms rather tiny, but clean and quite correct. I would recommand using their shuttle from airport.

The room and shared bathroom was filthy. This hotel has nothing to do with the pictures on web-page. Old furniture and bad decoration irritates. If you have an alternative, pick it! Venere is losing credibility by offerring this hotel as an option.

Hotel Julia was very nice. The staff were very helpful and made us feel welcome. Hotel in great central position with all facilities nearby. For our first nights away this was a great choice. Room/suite was comfortable, bathroom good. Had a great meal at restaurant two doors away.

My wife, two children (10 & 5) and I were visiting Rome for the first time and had researched hotels all over Rome before picking the Julia, for location, price and a room that would take all of us, accepting that it would be cramped and minimally equipped. It met our expectations, minor niggles were the cramped breakfast room and the unusably weak WiFi signal even on the ground floor next to the server. Half an hour before we left, a bed bug crawled across the sheet before my eyes; we had not noticed bites but this one left a bloodstain.

Location was fantastic! Right near all the famous tourist sites. The room was small, but always clean. The front desk staff was helpful, but NOT friendly. This is important because you have to always hand your key in - it would have been nice for a little effort of kindness and hospitality, especialy when you are a lone traveler. The breakfast was okay- rolls, yogurt, strong coffee, the attandant was very nice. I had a very early flight, the front desk offered Their service, 60EUROS plus tip for their car service for one person!!!! They offered no other options- I had to find them myself, and I did. Overall a good stay.

Very nice place, conveniently located at Piazza Barberini in central Rome within five minute's walk of Pantheon and Trevi Fountain, convenient to bus routes, Metro Line A (Barberini), Piazza Spagna, Piazza Popolare, Termini Station, and most of Rome's major attractions. Many nearby food and drink options nearby. Quiet location, helpful staff.
