The location is great, the breakfast was very good, the carpet in the room was very dirty, two of the front desk employees were not helpful and rather rude, fridge did not work, the A/C broke down for a day of our four days stay, to sum it up…this is not a four star hotel.

Considering the rate you pay, I would expect to not hear the room next door. Also the bed in my room was squeaking with every move. Overall some of the front office staff were not very friendly and service was at times poor. Perhaps this is Roma, but I travel a lot with my job and this hotel ranks low on my scale.

Perfect location for touring Rome and for out of city trips, as close to Metro station. Excellent breakfast in large bright room. Bedroom clean and spacious (superior room) with traditional furniture, dimmed lighting. Wireless internet connection functioned only in lobby + nearby bar. Staff courteous & helpful. Management dealt with minor problem efficiently and to our full satisfaction.

The hotel location was fabulous...near the Spanish Steps, near the metro station (Spano). We took buses and metro for our entire stay in Rome. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was a little small, bathroom was clean with a shower and bath. We had a veranda outside both rooms. Each room had a bathroom and closet. Breakfast was fabulous. We would definitely stay there again.

This were our first visit to Rome and Hetel Internazionale. We were very pleased with the hotel and Rome. To be sure to have a nice room we reserved a superior class room, which was very nice, only negative comment was the rather small vindow to the backyard of the hotel. And of course, Rome and hotels in Rome are expensive, so what you get is less than in most other cities for the same amount of money.

The hotel is situated in a great part of Rome near the Spanish Steps. The hotel lacked amenities that characterize a 4 star hotel. The hotel lacked a lobby, a proper elevator, a cafe, all the things that make your stay more comfortable.

When we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted warmly and during all our stay all the staff was kind and helpful. The room was lovely, with a marvellous private terrace! My husband also found the time to do some exercises with the personal trainer in the fitness room; it is not very big but it has the most important equipments. Breakfast was rich and excellent and the breakfast room is beautiful! The hotel is in the center of Rome, near all the must important historic places and all the famous shops! We really had a fantastic vacation!

I liked the location, was very happy with the room and the staff was helpful however our stay was ruined when we opened up the safe in the room and found that $500.00 american dollars were missing. We never took the wallet and money belt out of the safe and are sure of the amounts missing. We were not aware that anyone else could open a room safe. I have contacted the hotel by phone and by e-mail and have not even gotten a response that they have acknowledged my e-mail. Until this happened we would have returned to this hotel again but now we feel the hotel is unsafe.

Consider this hotel within your options in Rome. Great location and personnel devoted to customer satisfaction. Just a detail: I would suggest HI to work on the shower´s drain since every time we used the bath tube, the bathroom ended as a swimming pool (in spite of taking the appropriate precautions). We would definitely return!!!

Our room was very dark with hardly any natural light entering the room but as we werent in there most of the day it wasnt really too much of a problem. The staff were friendly and helpful. There is a big lobby which would be lovely if it had a few comfortable seats in. We took adaptor plugs thinking that all european rooms had twin plugs - not here - you needed one with three pins in a line the hotel loaned us one for the duration. For position it was ideal. 300 meters from the Spanish Steps was terrific and evrywhere we wantted to go was easy to find on the maps. Vatican is about 30 minute walk - can highly recommend Eden Tours (Grant) as guide for Vatican - you will beat the queues.

The hotel was very nice but the room wasn't up to the price we paid. The location was great and that's why I chose it. We only had one night there on our way back through Rome having stayed earlier at Albergo Abruzzi. Abruzzi wasn't anywhere near as classy as Internationale but I would stay at Abruzzi in preference.

The hotel is idealy located at the top of the Spanish steps. Our back room with a private veranda was quiet and very comfortable. Our second room for our neice was noisy because of over street location. Also, her air conditioning did not work properly. Overall, I would recommend this hotel.

First time in Rome. What a view from the top of the Spanish Steps! --Upon arrival of the hotel, the evening desk attendant was not very welcoming. He seemed annoyed. The pictures on the web did not represent the rooms at all. The room was maybe a 2 star hotel by US standards, with a 3 star rating and a 4+ star price. The room was small and the bathroom was way smaller than that in the pictures on your sight. The entrance is hard to find since signage is not good. Don't try to drive here... parking may be near by but good luck trying to find anything! Those are the negative comments. The positive- Location, location, location. Very nice. Good breakfast, but too quiet in the room which created an awkward feeling. Soft music would be nice. We should have gone to the patio but we didn't look at it until the last day.The attendent was very helpful, lovely selections and plenty to eat. Love that cappuccino! The daytime staff were over the top helpful! They offered a map which reminded me to ask where I could go to purchase the Roma Pass and he sold it to me there-what a lovely surprise! It was so helpful and saved us some time and money, especially for bus/metro passes. It made Rome so much more enjoyable! The daytime staff even said something to the night staff when he started to behave rudely and from that moment on, the night staff was kind to us. It was nice to be able to leave our luggage at the desk until time to leave after we checked out. Lovely touch- the chocolates on our nightstand. I bought some and shared them at my office and they all loved them! I would stay there again because of the locations easy access to sights accept the Vatican- but take Metro to that-and the daytime staff. Trevi Fountain is nearby and what a wonderful sight!

It was a great disappointment when we were shown to our rooms - they were nowhere near as nice as the pictures on the web - a con I think. The rest of the hotel was lovely. My elderly in-laws had no real access to daylight unless they went out onto a strange "balcony" and looked up at the sky!!

Hotel confortevole e in buona posizione.

Very nice hotel - great location, friendly staff, fairly nice room. Our only disappointment was the slightly tired decoration in the room (eg some peeling paint in bathroom) and our room opened on to a "courtyard" /lightwell which made the room v. quiet, but we couldn't check the weather before we went out!

We stayed in double superier room which was spacious with seperate walk in wardrobe. The bathroom had a seperate corridor containing double basins and the bathroom itself was ok in size. Althought the bathroom ceramic and floor was clean, the surrounding painted walls were chipped or mouldy - a coat of paint would have sorted this out. The carpets in the main bedroom were worn at the edges but clean. We had an internal room that faced an atrium rather than the street outside - this gave the room a very dark atmosphere as no natural light. Were woken up each morning with pigeons 'coo-ing' at 4am. Not the hotel fault but maybe they could have prevented this. Breakfast was ok but you were expected to pay extra for any cooked eggs - we were B&B so we would have expected this to be FREE. We only had breakfast once due to boring selection - all cold. Location wise the hotel is very central and it sits at the top of the spanish steps. Few minutes walk and you are really in the thick of things. Overall we felt we got value for money, ok place to stay, central and average service. Would recommend if you are on a sight seeing break and are not planning on spending much time in hotel.

We had a twin bed room on the third floor to the street. The room was even with closed windows very noisy. The aircondition has not functioned! The room was very small and very stuffy. The bath was very stuffy and could not be aired, the shower was tiny, even for 14-year-old girl too small. For 219 Euro per night a very extraordinary price for an ordinary room.

The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome and gave us great suggestions for local restaurants and activities. The room was very nice, and much larger that expected (also with free Wi-Fi connection!!!). The bathroom was quite large as well. Excellent breakfast. We would rate the Internazionale as a very very lovely place to stay in Rome.

For our first visit to Rome, this was a wonderful hotel. The location was perfect; right at the top of the Spannish Steps, with plenty of good resturants and bars within a few minutes walking distance. And the hotel itself is beautiful. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. We were very pleased with the breakfast which had plenty of things to choose from. We would definatly stay here again. The only thing that would have improved our stay would have been to have a room with an outside view.

My wife and I spent three nights at Internazionale. Our rate was 260 Euros per night. That is £180 per night! An extraordinary price for a very ordinary hotel. The room was dark and dingy, there were plastic 'glasses' in the bathroom, the breakfast fruit juices were watered down, the coffee was turgid and the 'hot'water for the tea wasn't.Whilst the staff helped when asked it was not done with 'good grace'.We would certainly not stay here again.

This hotel is in an excellent location. We enjoyed our stay there very much and would definitely consider returning there again if/when we return to Rome. There was only one slight problem and that was with the small shower being slow to drain, but not enough of an issue to inform the management as we were only there for two nights. Also, we had a lot of bags and someone was there to help us which we appreciated. We would recommend Hotel Internazionale on your next visit to Rome!

Our late September, 2006 stay at the Internazionale in Rome was an excellent experience. The location is perfect, not more than a block from the top of the Spanish Steps in central Rome. Our room and bath was large, clean and quiet. The breakfast was expansive and tasty. Service was helpful. My wife and I would recommend this property to any visitor to Rome.

We are just back from our vacation, which included 4 nights in Rome. Having stayed at Hotel Internazional before, I knew to ask for rooms on the 4th floor, many have their own balconies! Rooms were quiet, clean and staff are very professional. Location is absolutely perfect, within walking distance to all major sites, yet just enough distance away from the noise of revelers on the Spanish Steps. For value, location and accommodation, you cannot beat the Internazionale!

The hotel is situated near the Spanish Steps on a fairly quiet street. We were traveling with our three older children. ( ages 16-10 yrs old)Our children stayed in a room which faced the street. Their room has obviously been renovated. The furnishings, air conditioning unit and TV were very new. Their TV had satellite TV. The hotel has constructed a second interior window to add soundproofing from street noises. Our room was situated on a back hallway and our window faced an interior building view. Although the room was quiet and did not face the street the furnishings were clearly dated. The bathroom, air conditioning, TV etc all were of a lesser quality than provided in our kid's room. (We should have added the extra bed to this room and kept the other one for ourselves!) The breakfast room is very nice and has charming Venetian glass chandeliers. The buffet breakfast is included in the room charge. You may also order hot items such as eggs for an additional charge. Free internet access is only available in the lobby. You may request a password and code from the front desk to use their desk top station for guests or use your laptop for Wi-Fi in the lobby.

A very good hotel. The only problem is street noise from traffic. There is a fairly constant flow through the night, not unusual in Rome and this street is by no means the busiest. However, if you are a light sleeper get a room away from the street.

The location of this hotel is fantastic. It is 100yards to the top of the Spanish steps at one end of the street and at the other end is the Piazza Barberini. The Spagna Metro is at the bottom of the Steps as is Macdonalds. The Barberini metro is probably easier for wheeling bags though it is a gradual uphill walk of about 400 metres. There's a taxi rank at the Spanish Steps end.We used these a lot. They were so much better than the taxis 10 years ago. The ATM machine halfway down the Via Sistina should never be used at night as it is poorly lit and we just about lost our card because someone had placed a false front over the insert opening expecting us to push the card in so it appeared stuck. Our son extricated it thank goodness and the false front and tape. Staying at this Hotel helped make our stay in Rome very safe and enjoyable. The staff were very accommodating and pleasant. We travelled with our adult children, our daughter, 22, and son, 19. Instead of booking our usual 2 twin rooms,we booked the suite which had 2 twin bedrooms-one larger than the other. There was no extra room but we socialised in the larger room. It suited us and it had its own terraced courtyard with branches overhead. The web photo was taken when thje suite was new but that is what it looks like, just slightly faded. We were very happy there. The bathroom is tiled, very clean and very spacious but needs a do-up around the bath/shower area. The musty smell went after awhile. Rome was very hot and humid while we were there. The air conditioning was very efficient. We found the super market which is down the Via Mercede way for extras and wine and food when we didnt want to go out at night and for snacks.Ask the staff or the shop keepers if you can't find it. Breakfast was great, in lovely rooms. Internet access was expensive for us so we found the large Easy Internet Cafe in the piazza Barberini on Via Barberini. We never found a handy laundromat. There must be one somewhere close
