The location of the hotel was excellent as it was very near to the train station and underground, however I found the area dirty and the ambience was not good. The hotel room was spacious, clean and quiet and the air conditioning worked. The breakfast was ample. We could get the BBC and a Spanish channel on the TV.The hotel staff were quite helpful. The morning receptionist was a little off-hand but I think the Italians are like that in general.

Very good location 2 blocks from Termini station. The room was clean and quiete facing the court yard. The bed was quite hard. Breakfast was typical Italian, ok but not more. The air condition was VERY poor. Just make a lot of noice and very little cooling effect. The wi-fi in the lobby did not work very well. However I could use the PC in the lobby.

Hotel was OK and price was reasonable. Didn't like the area - it was seedy and hard for me to find a place to eat alone in comfort. The staff were efficient but not very friendly. The room was comfortable and clean - only one English TV station. The breakfast, included in the price, was spartan but adequate and the proximity to transportation is excellent.

As a single women traveling to Rome, I found this hotel very safe and clean. Staff was very friendly and helpful. The room, for the location and the price was excellent for being in Rome. Great location within walking distance of train station. I walked to most of the sites even though it was a ways, it was beautiful to see Rome on foot. Breakfast was ok, nothing to exciting.

I visited Rome with my family, staying in triple room for a week. The advantages are definitely good location (closeness to the main tourist attractions), friendly staff, silence at night (at least in this week). As minuses I would mention quite small room, poor breakfast (at the end we were already fed up with the croissants and buns) and ants in the room.

I thought the hotel is quite nice and was good value for money. Great location near the Termini station. Staff are very friendly and the overall feel is good. I think what you get for your money is very reasonable. I would happily stay here again when on a budget.

I stopped here for 1 night and have to say that Hotel Igea is a good hotel in its class but could be better. The staff are very professional, helpful and serve you with plenty of smiles. The room itself is just about ok, I mean there's nothing you would expect more than a bed and a small TV. The toilet is a bit old fashioned but it does not smell, so that's good! The hotel is located not too far from the central station which is convenient. However, the surroundings of the hotel is not the best I've seen and I wouldn't recommend it for families.

Hotel was conveniently close to train station and public transportation and the center of the city. Staff were helpful and courteous. Room was clean and adequate. WiFi did not reach the 6th floor, but the lobby computer made email accessible. Breakfast was not super but adequate and tasty. The laundromat across the street was very convenient and I was able to wash and dry all my clothes within an hour. Overall a very positive experience. I would without question go back to Hotel Igea again.

Booked for 2 nights, but stayed 1, July 2009. Moved to a hotel nearby. The hotel is outdated, AC barely works, rooms are old, looked worse than some of the hostels I stayed in. Elevator stops between floors, so you have to haul your luggage anyway. Overpriced for what it offers. You can find a better place for the same money!

I checked out early because the hotel staff was unbelievably rude and incompetent. The wi-fi rarely worked and no one could tell me when or if it would be fixed (wi-fi was the primary reason I booked the room). I asked a man at the front desk to suggest a restaurant and he said he didn't know of any. At one point, I purchased wi-fi time from the hotel next door and even asked another hotel on the street for tourist information, both Hotel Terminal and Hotel Contilla were quite helpful and friendly.

Very pleasant hotel, very close to the Termini Station (side exit from the platform 25 - trains to/from Fiumicino airport going directly to the hotel), good price (50 Euros single room), free Internet connection in the hotel lobby. The only thing I missed was a refrigerator in my room. Because of the very hot days, the air condition did not work properly during the night. In general, I was very satisfied with this hotel.

I stayed in a single room: it hasn't been painted for years; sheets and towels smell badly; TV was not working for 2 days, noone cared to fix it; telephone was not working for four days; no connection to Internet; the owner was rude, indifferent and didn't speak english; the staff was polite and willing to help, but couldn't do much.

My husband and I stayed for one night after 36 hours of travelling from Australia. We needed a clean, quiet room with a comfortable bed. We were on the top floor, one floor above the lift and had a great night's sleep. Being near the train made arrival and departure so easy. We had half a day in Rome before catching a train to Cinque Terra. The location enabled us to spend 5 hours walking around Rome taking in the Coloseum, the Forum, the Trevi Fountain and the Spanish steps. The staff were pleasant and helpful. The room was small but good value.

We came to Italy last year in the summer and decided to visit Rome when it was cooler and not so busy. The link from the airport to the station was very easy. I had e-mailed the hotel to advise the time of arrival and was greeted cheerily by the receptionist, who was waiting for me. We stayed in Rome for 4 days and the hotel Igea was an ideal base. I was worried what breakfast was like because the reviews had been poor, however we were given tea and coffee and the waiter was very attentive, although this might be because the hotel was not very busy. I would recommend this hotel for anyone who is looking for a comfy bed and a shower inbetween sightseeing.

Hi everyone, just a short comment on the hotel for our weekend stay in fall 2008. Hotel is very close to the termini station, thus it's perfectly suited for exploring rome. It's quite and clean but the breakfast is really poor, basically cakes and biscuites. Although, the price qualtity ratio could be better, this hotel can be recommended if one doesn't expect any "luxury".

Booked for one night before an early morning flight as it is conveniently located near the train station. Otherwise, not much else to offer. Basic, small rooms (which did have good windows that kept out street noise); sheets with holes; hair stuck to the bathroom wall (!?); no room safe; pleasant enough desk staff. Seemed more expensive than it was worth.

Location location location. Close to Termini Station, which is the main route to the heart of the city. Easy to find. Room was fairly clean. Very basic room. Apparently a double bed is two single beds pushed together. Very hard mattresses with broken springs. Miniature joke size shower (taps fell off and doors wouldn't shut). Cold bottled water sold at reception - price dependent on who's working at the time. The cleaning lady starts her daily routine at sunrise, so don't expect a lie-in. Way overpriced. Sugared croissants were good however.

The location of the hotel is good. It is convenient whether you go out by train, metro or bus. Train station and bus terminal are just nearby, only 10 min. walk. Nevertheless, it is difficult to find the hotel if you've not been to that place before by using the map and instructions from the web page. The information are confusing. They claimed that they provide wirless internet service at the lobby but I could never get my notebook connected to the service. None of the hotel staff, actually there was only one person on duty, could not help me because he had no knowledge on computer.

Our room and bathroom booked thru Venere was fairly large. We returned later for 2 nights at the end of our trip in Italy and the room we had was very small and the bathroom was barely large enough to move around. It was located on the 2nd floor and on the street. It was 5E less tho. The staff was friendly and helpful. Having free internet access was a plus!

A very clean, friendly hotel with easy access to everywhere via Termini station but not in a particularly good area. Hotel would greatly benefit from offering tea/coffee facilities in the rooms or even at a public point - none at all except at breakfast. Breakfast fine but very limited (lots of biscuits/cake). Would have no hesitation in going back to Igea again.

This was a reasonably OK hotel, A bit noisy with the window open, no carpeting, and a very small shower. The staff were all great, some were better at english than others, and all helpful when we had questions. It's located within walking distance of the main train terminal and other transportation. We were cautious when walking in the neighborhood after dark. The beds were some of the most comfortable of our entire trip. For the price I would stay there again.

Third trip to Rome, third different hotel. This hotel was very clean, staff friendly, and the hotel itself is two blocks from the main train and bus station (Rome Termini). Easy walks to all the big tourist sites. Two blocks from a metro stop that will take you to the Vatican. Outside noise was minimal to non-existent. Depart the hotel, turn left, and walk down the street about 500 yards and there is an inexpensive, very good eating establishment with tables inside and outside. I will stay in this hotel any time I return to Rome if it is available.

The shower was VERY small. I would have rated this hotel better if the older thin man at the counter would be less terrible. The lady in the breakfast area wasn't much better. However, Antiono was fantastic, the ladies were OK and the bald older man was nice. REPEAT....THE SHOWERS WERE SMALL.....& they need to remove the thin older man who enjoys being mean. Very nice cleaning staff. The location was great to Termini Train station. My dates of stay were 9-20-07 until 10-02-07...I got to this late...sorry

I would like to draw your attention to the very poor standard of Hotel Igea. It is supposed to be a 3-star hotel, but really, by any standards, it doesn't deserve a single star. The furniture is amazingly poor and old, 2 small beds instead of a double bed (for a double room paid 140 EUR), a shaky cupboard, of course no safe, the bathroom is really apalling: the shower corner is so small that a normal person (60 kg) can hardly enter it and move inside it. It is not bigger than 2m x 2m, including sink and toilet. An incredible experience, we changed hotels after 2 nights (we would have changed earlier if we hadn't an early trip on the 2nd morning). Thank you for the survey. Best regards, EZ

The Igea is a very central, clean and nice Hotel. To the station "Termini" you have 2 minutes to go. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and nice, but very clairaudient. The breakfast was a bit meagre! There was no bread, only zwieback and sweet pastries. But when I come back to Rome sometimes, I'm sure, that I'll book this hotel again.

Practical, safe and clean hotel, on the "better side" of Stazione Termini and closer to centre. Good choice if just overnighting comming/departing from airport/train. Fast and efficient check-in /out. Choice of restaurants, services, internet, etc nearby. A dignified building, rooms are immaculate, but small. Space for improvement in lighting and decoration. Bathrooms are renovated with all the facilities and the smallest shower cabinet ever seen. Air conditioning alla italiana (maximun speed/cool is just a fresh breeze) and works all day, unlike some hotels which disconnect it during the night or add surcharge. Public areas are pleasently furnished and decorated. Lift stops in a mezzanine between floors, so you have a choice of going up or down. Not very convenient with heavy suitcases or for disabled, old people. OK for one or two nights, would not stay here for a whole week. Slightly overpriced.

The location of this hotel was quite convenient to the train station. There were three very good and reasonably priced restaurants in the neighborhood. The room we had was very quiet and quite comfortable. The price was reasonable. We spent eight nights at this hotel. This was my first time to Rome and the hotel was very clean and basic but it was too far from the centre of things. The hotel is easy to find, according to map from Venere.com. The nightclerk was all other than serviceminded, the rest of the staff friendly enough. The room was small but clean. The bathroom was microscopic, the shower in particular. The breakfastlounge was the best we have experienced in Rome (4th time), and the waiter was very friendly. The hotel is situated somewhat far from the major attractions in Rome, and the neighbourhood is not too pretty. The restaurant across the street serves good authentic Roman food; recommended.

Location is very ideal for tourists, very near to public transport system. Hotel was clean, breakfast very good. Only two remarks, the toilet is really tiny, had no hand shower and second, no service to keep luggage once the room is checked out. I had to keep it in the lobby without any responsibility from hotel management. It is better to charge a small fee for this service and keep in the lobby under the responsibility of the reception. For tourists, it will be a great relief. Overall I enjoyed the stay very much and is recommending to others. Good value for money.

A very impersonal staff, a very limited choice of breakfast food. I don't reccomend this hotel if you're looking for a comfortable stay. On the other hand if you're looking for a small, clean hotel with a good relationship price/quality you'll like this hotel that is located in the centre of Rome, near the train station.

The hotel does not have internet connection in any of his rooms, whereas in the venere website they claim to have the internet facility. The welcome in the breakfast room in the morning is not excellent due to the rough attitude of the waiter.

The room was adequate, clean, and in the back of the building (no street noise!). It was air conditioned, however the in-cieling unit was VERY noisy and I had to use earplugs on the second and third nights to sleep in comfort. The hotel is only three blocks from Termini station, and when we couldn't walk to our destination within the city (which was rare), we hopped on the train easily and quickly.

Stayed there in their single room on 18 June 06. Location very close to Rome Termini Station. Had no problems locating it. Room was clean, bathroom is ensuite. Surroundings felt safe even at night.

The Hotel was exactly what we needed we had a double bedroom the shower was a little bit small but over all the room was off good size and the all of the amenities we needed we didn't go to breakfast so I cant comment on that but all in all the hotel was really good for us 5 mins form the main station a 15-20 mins walk to trevi fountain and the staff were always very helpful especially if we were asking for directions and a few nice cheaper little restaurants very near by and the surrounding area waa fine we didnt have any problems walking back late at night. would definatly stay there again.

The hotel was what we expected at the price. It was very convenient to the train station and we had no problems walking around the area. It was a little noisy at night.

We got what we paid for. There were no surprises. The location was excellent, if noisy. Our room faced the street. The room was large and spacious.

A good hotel in central Rome with all needed facilities. Our only objection is the quality of the bread. How can Italians serve old or factory produced bread in plastic for breakfast?

Especially in the morning it was very noisy because the charwomen worked very noisy in the other rooms. The room itself was very quiet since the window was to the courtyard. I can not recommend the breakfast in the hotel.

D'être demandé de finir le petit déjeuner à 10.05 (horaires 8.00/10.00)est pour moi pas très commercial. Acceuil assez "sec"

The room was a decent price and clean, the location was ok (by the train station), it was just a plain, standard room, no frills. Laundromat across the street, which is a plus.

Ok place for the price - we wonder how it compares to bed and breakfasts though.

The staff at the Igea were extremely nice and welcoming. They were more than happy to assist you. The rooms were nice as well. The only issue was noise. The building is older and the sound proofing not the best. However, the wonderful staff as well as the rest of the accomodations more than compensated for this minor item.
