The hotel hermitage is not only difficult to get to but not worth the hassle once you have arrived. The location is terrible with literally nothing of interest in walking distance (no cafes, no tobacco shops nor bars). The rooms are tiny, with even smaller televisions, and small luxuries like ice and accessible internet are non existent. Having said that, the saving grace of this hotel is their decent breakfast. This self proclaimed '4 star' hotel is a 3 star at best. If you are looking for, space, location, and comfort I strongly suggest you find another place to stay.

I stayed in ROme for 2 nights, hermitage appear like a grand Hotel looking at the hall and the underground floor where you can have breakfast. the room was little no shower (you have to handle the shower by yourself no way to fix on the wall) and the bath was really inaccessible to a big person. The breakfast was not so bad but considering the type of client that the hotel aim to give hospitality is very poor.

Perhaps it was a beautiful hotel some years ago, but now there is a total lack of maintenance (broken windows, strong bad smell from bath)

The Hotel is definetely not a 4 star. The walls were really dirty; after 09.30 the breakfast was not fresh, and impossible to have an espresso. The complimentary kit was not refreshed every day (we kept on using the same little soap, in a 4 stars is quite absurd); there is no safety box in the room, one must ask in reception and pay 5 euros. For going to downtown better forget 360 and go in via Parioli taking 53 or 217, more frequent. I would not recommend this hotel, or better, I don't think this is a 4 starone. This is the first time I'm disappointed by Venere (but other travellers said my same things, I shoudl trust!).

Hotel will have serious difficulty to confirm 3 stars if an inspection has to be done. Air conditioning doesn't work properly (in three different rooms). Standards ar very low. Not suggested unless seriously refurbished.

We had to go to 3 different rooms to get one with a working a/c, but were finally given a nice top floor room with a terrace overlooking the local residential area. very quiet, residential area, that is unfortunately not very close to the center of rome. hard to find a taxi, unless the hotel gets one for you. my first time to rome, probably should have chosen a better location.

Pessimo!

Nice Hotel to stay in. A bit out from the city centre but 360 Muse bus took you into centre for €1. Bus stop outside hotel and buses very regular . No bar or restaurant in Hotel but if you take a five minute walk to parioli there is a great cheap street bar called bamba's. Plenty of lovely reasonable restaurants too. Would stay here again no problem.

El hotel esta en una zona muy agradable. La limpieza deja bastante que desear y la habitación era pequeñisima así como el baño. El desayuno estaba bien aunque el personal era poco educado. El personal de recepción no era servicial y pasaban de los huespedes.

The hotel was in a quiet district of Rome. there were lovely neighborhood restaurants within walking distance. The concierge was effecient. The hotel was sufficient but I really would not rate it a 4 star and I have traveled all over Europe. It is definitely a 3 star. Breakfast was very good in the european sense as long as you were there at the beginning of the week and the pastries were fresh. The plumbing was very slow and you must be careful not to overflow the shower.

I asked for double room and was given twin room. The beds were very uncomfortable. The window sills and under the beds were full of dust. The room was tiny. The hotel was nowhere near the city centre which it said it was. The bar was never opened the whole time we were there.

We were appalled at the state of this hotel. Tiny Rooms, Out of date drinks in the minibar, graffiti in the lifts, No bar services...no room services. We expected a four star hotel and got nothing more than One Star service. Disgraceful....and worthy of a refund. Please Respond.

We had a pleasant stay in this hotel. The staff was very friendly. The city centre was easy to reach by bus. Having said that, this is in my opinion not a four star hotel! The room was small, the bathroom did not have a proper bath and there was no shower curtain. If you are late for breakfast there is not much left to choose from.

Hotel hermitage is not anything like a 4 star property i wouldnt even say it was a 3 star. Room was very small and the smell was terrible. The bar was never open. Reception staff were not very helpful. We didnt go for breakfast as the smell in my room put us off. You could not even get a cup of coffee or tea. its not a hotel i would stay in again or recommend to anyone. We loved Rome and will be back later this year

Although this hotel is not in the center of town, it is only one block from the stop for Bus 360 which runs regularly. The front desk staff were professional and friendly and very helpful with directions and public transport information. I would recommend this hotel and stay here again.

The receptionist on arrival could not have been less helpful. My wife had to struggle with suitcases whilst I went to find a parking spot and he had a cigarette outside. Parking was on road and extremely limited. We were close to having our car stolen when on the day of departure a noise was heard under the car and two men in a car flagged us down by indicating something wrong with the car. We eventually both left the car to try and discover the problem. One man kept us at the back of the car whilst indicating where the "sparks/flames" were coming from. The other man then approached the vehicle towards the driver's side and only changed his direction when my wife went to the back of the car and I spotted hiom. He then inicated to his partner that it was time to go. They had parked their car 30 metres down the road in front of a car that stopped me getting their number! A close thein. We would have ceen left with just the close we stood up in on a 3 week motoring holiday. Be very, very careful. I thought this was a genuine attempt to help. Whenever you leave the car, remove the key and lock it!

Hotel was a real bargain. we got a last minute price which was excellent. the rooms were spacious and clean and the breakfast buffet was very good. the hotel is only a couple of hundred yards away from a railway line that takes you in two stops to the metro, so the city centre is within easy reach....the web site could make this fact known. the hotel e-mailed a few days before the start of our stay to offer a taxi service direct to the hotel, as there were four of us it really worked out well. we would have no hesisitation in using the hotel again.

For a supposed 4 star hotel, this place is no frills at all. The room was small but everything worked and it was very quiet, which was a relief after other places I've stayed at in Italy. The hotel is located at the end of the 360 bus route and the bus service was very good. Also, plenty of restaurants and bars along the Viale del Parioli nearby. There was nothing really wrong with the place, just that it would not rate 4 stars in my book.

The hotel was very very good, but it was a bit far away from the centre. Because the only day we were there was a public holiday, the bus service (which was very close to the hotel) was only running intermittently so we had to rely on taxis.

Reasonable Hotel just way to far away from the city centre. A good 3 Star Hotel, but not more than that. We would stay again at the Hotel if we were to stay in Rom. Hotel not practical for sightseeing trips. Quite location though.

Hermitage was a nice, elegant hotel. It was at bit faroff from the center and it took us a while to find the right buses and metro. But when you were in your room it was very comfortable and they provided a good breakfast. The reception was not very serviceminded and friendly even if they did their job. They had 5 newpapers in the morning. Four italian, one french, no english. That is arrogant!

No towels in both rooms for the first 2 days stay. The BAR closed at 7pm with no other facilities for a coffee or food in the neighbourhood. Shower was not a shower but a tap and the tray overflowed. It is not 6 minutes from Via Veneto but a 15 minute bus ride to the centre of town.(Good Bus service and at 4€ a day very good value)

HI. I AM AN AMERICAN CUSTOMER WHO MADE A RESERVATION TO STAY AT THE ROME HERMITAGE HOTEL ON 03NOV03. THE RESERVATION WAS DONE TO STAY OVERNIGHT WITH MY WIFE, MY SON (23 MONTHS OLD) AND ME. I SPECIFICALLY REQUESTED A BABY CRIB FOR MY SON UPON ARRIVING, IT WAS PROMISED TO ME. MY FAMILY AND I WERE RETURNING FROM A LONG TRIP AND THE BABY NEEDED TO SLEEP. UPON ARRIVING WE WERE VERY DISSAPOINTED WITH THE STATUS OF THE ROOM 101. WE RECEIVED A VERY SMALL ROOM WITH FOUR BEDS, THERE WAS NO ENOUGH SPACE TO MOVE AROUND, THE QUALITY OF THE FURNITURE WAS NOT TO THE STANDARD EXPLAINED ON THE INTERNET WEB PAGE, AND THE ROOM DID NOT HAVE DECENT ILLUMINATION. THE ROOM WAS MORE ACCEPTABLE AS A SERVICE ROOM, IT WAS NOT MEETING THE STANDARD OF A FOUR STAR HOTEL. EVEN WORSE WHEN IT WAS RECEIVED WE DID NOT HAVE A BABY CRIB AS IT WAS REQUESTED. WE STAYED IN THE ROOM ONLY A LITTLE BIT OVER AN HOUR ENOUGH TO PACK OUR LUGGAGE. WE PAYED (RECEIPT XBF # 115291) AND DEPARTED THE ROOM VERY DISSAPOINTED. YOUR HOTEL WAS RECOMMENDED TO ME FROM OTHER NATO MILITARY OFFICERS WORKING WITH ME IN NAPLES. I KNOW HERMITAGE HOTEL HAS A PRETTY GOOD REPUTATION AND I HOPE, THIS IS CORRECTED TO PROVIDE BETTER SERVICE IN THE FUTURE. To the time of our visit in Rome the weather was very hot, and one could expect, that a hotel like Hermitage would have air-conditioning... That was, however, not the case. Further, it was a bit annoying, that the hair-dryer did not work at all and that the doorhandle fell off, when closing the door. The handle was, luckily, ficed when we got back to the hotel. We considere the location of Hermitage to be very good: in a quite quiet and relaxed neighbourhood, not too far away from the city centre, with a good bus connection straight to Termini.

Our room was not at all worth 4 stars: around 5 TV channels (all Italians), room so tiny that it was not easy to find a place to keep the luggage, poor mini-bar, some bugs found in the bathroom. Good surprises were that breakfasts were included, which I had not understood. Bad surprises that the breakfast quality was low, and that the hotel was further from the centre than expected looking at the hand made map, so that it was impossible to walk from the centre to the hotel. We paid 325 Euros for 5 nights in a double room including breakfast for 2, which made the relationship between quality and price quite good.

Attention to the swindles. When it arrives to the hotel, they will try makes you you to pay more why they will invent some error in the reservation. Nobody obligates to practice them to low prices therefore on Internet the Italian usuals never does not change.

Considering we were staying in Rome, we got quite decent prices on this hotel, and it's in a way a very nice hotel, but: The map on the internet is quite misleading, and unless you really enjoy walking - don't consider this a central hotel! Some of the receptionworkers were friendly, but g.e. a bald guy in the mid/late-30's was extremely arrogant! Another receptionist kept telling us to go to Piazza Ungharese when we asked for any nearby restaurants - my wife is pregnant; it took us 30 minutes!! The last day we discovered a nearby restaurantarea within 4 minutes walk from the hotel, and the same receptionist explained that he didn't tell us about this, because he found the restaurants too "pricy". Bullshit!!! The restaurants were great!!! And if you are pregnant, you are pleased to pay 2 euro extra for walking 25 minutes less... If you have more than one suitecase, don't expect to have enough room to see the floor. And be careful with rooms with a balcony, you might end up with 5 air-conditionmachines just outside your window, keeping you awake... The breakfast was not better than on a 2-star-hotel, and the persons working with the breakfast were not really friendly. On the internet we were promised a parking-house. That was full the whole time - we had to park on the street the whole time... Except for these things, the hotel was OK and clean.

The Hotel was very comfortable although the bedrooms were not very large. The staff were extremely helpful. As the hotel is a bus ride from the city centre and tickets for the bus are only available from a vending machine, make sure that you have enough change for the machine (or use a taxi).

The Grand Hermitage hotel is lovely and situated in a beautiful, although out-of-the way area of Rome (about 20 minutes by bus to the central Terminal station). The staff were helpful in terms of giving directions, including maps and bus routes. We were probably the only people there with young children, but we were well accomodated as the hotel provided both a cot and a bathtub in our room (many hotel rooms only have showers). The hotel offers a very nice continental breakfast in an elegant dining area. We also enjoyed the roof-top lounge from which you can view the beautiful surroundings.
