Stayed for just one night on route to Cinque Terra from Napoli, and was pleasantly surprised. It was the low season, so the price was inexpensive, but the breakfast was very nice (typical European Breakfast) and the staff was very friendly. Quick 5 minute walk to the train station, and less than 1km to the Collesium. will stay there again.

I went to Rome with my boyfriend for a short stay, from Friday till Sunday and we didn't want to spend too much. Considering that, Giubileo was all right: the prices in Rome are generally high, so you can't pretend too much. The hotel is nice, the room clean, the breakfast 'essential', the staff generally friendly. Only minor point: the room was on the fourth floor without elevator and you have to pass a lot of locked doors in between.

We had a terrible time with the staff. My boyfriend had something mailed to the hotel, his camera, and it was never given to us by the staff. They insisted that they never received the package, even though we had confirmation from the post service.

Italy is very expensive. This is a basic hotel, clean and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. You can book your tours and airport transportation at the front desk. The biggest asset of this hotel is the location. It is near the Termini and you can walk just about everywhere. Do not miss the Gellato place next to it.

We were sent to a room out of the hotel, and it was really noise. Didn't recomend, but I have to say that the hotel itself was nice, a pitty we were sent out!!

Hotel Giubileo is absolutely ideal for those going to Rome on a budget who want to good base to get around the city. As a 2* hotel charging 55 euros/night for a double, I was not expecting luxury, but hoping for cleanliness, friendliness and security, and got exactly what I hoped for. The hotel is 5 mins walk from Termini so easy to get to from airports and other parts of the city, and a stone's throw from Santa Maria Maggiore, a breathtaking church. The room was fairly small but had private bathroom and a big fridge, and a sturdy wardrobe with key made up for the lack of a safe. The room however was up 4 flights of stairs which may be a problem for some: specify when booking if it is as they have rooms up only 1 flight if needed. The reception staff were friendly and even accomodating (albeit grudgingly) when I had to work in the lobby in the middle of the night. Overall we had a great stay at the Giubileo and it fully lived up to the numerous excellent reviews I had read before booking it.

Our first hotel during our trip around Italy. Whilst we were greeted warmly by the reception, we were a little surprised that that there is no elevator in the building and that we had to climb 6 floors by foot to reach our room!! Definitely not for the unfit or elderly. But still the stay was pleasant as the room was spacious, clean and nice. There is a nice cafe at the end of the block which opens late. Great to rest those tired feet after a long day of walking and grab a cuppa before attacking those stairs!! P/S : They do have rooms on the lower floors. Ask for them.

As with all hotels in Rome, this hotel is overpriced. It is, however, located right in the middle of downtown and you can walk to almost everything. The hotel did charge for the first night as soon as the reservation was made, although Venere indicated that would not happen. The hotel did account for that correctly when we stayed. In all it was a quite satisfying stay.

There was no lift at this hotel. Although there was an electric chair on the side of the stairs which did not seem to be in use as we saw a woman with poor mobility struggling up the stairs. We were asked if we would like to be on the 5th floor which was quieter and more secure for two women or 3rd. We took this option and made sure we took a toothbrush to breakfast to clean teeth before going out and ate dinner before returning to the room. The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Great location-good price for quality of people & for Rome (all expensive). VERY helpful staff at front desk, both for restaurant suggestions and for airport shuttle service, as well as subway info. Would stay here again. Rooms on first two floors not as nice, but with no elevator and lots of luggage we compromised. Next time less luggage and nicer room!

My relationship with the hotel started poorly when, 10 days before our arrival in Rome, my credit card was hit for one-third of the total hotel bill. This was despite the booking confirmation saying that my "credit card WILL NOT BE CHARGED now but is required only in order to guarantee the reservation". I have never experienced this with any other hotel and found the explanation a bit weak. The hotel claimed it was to stop them being a victim of fraud! We traveled as a group of five, sharing two rooms. The rooms were clean and while not huge, they were adequate. Breakfast was absolutely fine and the breakfast room was quite charming. However, the noise in the bedrooms from the road was tortuous but at least it was sometimes drowned out by the noise of the air conditioning unit which resembled a jet fighter overhead! None of us slept very well at all which is not ideal when you are trying to have an action-packed trip catching all the sights of Rome. The hotel was about a 20 minute taxi ride (10 euros) from the Vatican and most other popular tourist spots. The Basilica right next to the hotel is absolutely worth a visit and is actually one of the stops on the open-top bus tour, which I would recommend if you are a first time visitor trying to get your bearings. In summary we found the hotel to be great value for money if you don't need sleep. However, be aware of their pre-charging 'policy'.

The hotel was better than the website suggested - I was not certain that all rooms would have en suite facilities, but they did. The air conditioning and double glazing is extremely efficient. Service is excellent. The room was very comfortable; it needed one or two minor repairs.

Very noisy hotel if you are in the front rooms as it is a on a main street, there is double glazing on the first floor only (not very effective) and even closing the shutters doesn't help much. It is a clean and presentable hotel although there were a few irritants such as non working (or loose!!) lightbulbs, broken shower doors, insufficient drawer space, lopsided wardrobes etc. The staff were friendly and helpful, although we had to move mid stay as there had been a mix up in the bookings and we were not shown on the register when we arrived (Don't let them try and put you in the room overlooking the breakfast area as they tried to do with us). There are plenty of places to eat and drink if you explore the surrounding streets a little (Cheapest beer is at the sandwich bar next door, though it closes early), there is an excellent supermarket nearby and a metro station 100m away. Breakfast is basic continental (horrible coffee), but if you time it right you can get some of the lovely pastries which are put out at regular intervals by the staff, move quickly though as they soon disappear leaving you with plain croissants or stale buns!!!). Overrall it is a cheapish hotel for Rome offering very fair value in a good location for getting around the city, but don't stay here if your on a special trip, such as a honeymoon or anniversery.

The hotel was very good value for the money when comparing the average price level of the hotel rooms in Rome. The room was much nicer than one would expect from a two-star-hotel. It was very spacious and well cleaned. Actually only negative things were: 1.the service from the front desk was quite un-friendly (exept the night shift guy who was very friendly) and 2. the lack of the elevator disturbed a little bit as we were travelling with a 5-months old baby. The situation of the hotel was great too.

I guess for a 2 star hotel is was worth the stay. We arrived late on Sunday night and we got the last room in the hotel which didn't have AC or a phone. Which we requested both. So he said he would put us in a better room the next night but this was all he had for Sunday night. The second room had AC but didn't work but luckily the nights were rather cool with the window open and the fan running. Of course the noise came through the window since it was open but we got use to it. We requested wake-up calls everyday and one day they were 30 mins late and the next day they forgot and the third day they finally got it right. Overall the place was clean and the staff was friendly and helpful. I probably wouldn't stay again though.

We made reservations for Giubileo for three separate times on our trip. All three reservations were as promised, though the rooms were different. Rooms are small, but include necessary amenities and bathrooms with showers. The location is excellent regarding accessibility to central Rome and the railway station. This central location, however, is noisy with the windows open. Much better with windows closed, but occasionally the room is too warm then. Staff are very helpful and spoke English well. We were pleased to have made advance reservations as it saved many difficulties. Instant confirmation is a great option, especially when the room is not charged until you stay. This hotel is much nicer inside than would appear from the outside. The owners have done a nice job of creating modern space in a very old building.

A 10-minute walk from the Termini station -- we felt safe enough, but neighborhood is a bit unsavory at night. Fairly noisy at night with traffic, street work, and trash pick-up. Bed fine, bathroom good; a good value for being close to Coliseum/Forum area. Breakfast was simple, but good. We would consider booking at Giubileo again.

Giubileo Hotel was a nice place to stay at. With opened window the street is loud. But we enjoyed the variety of the offered breakfast buffet very much. And the hotel is situated very close to main station and many Roman treasures.

The location of the hotel is good, close to bus terminal, underground, railway. The building is old, but this is probably typical for this kind of hotels. However the age of the hotel does not justify the fact, that one of the walls of the room was fusty to the extent that the fustiness was too strong all the time. We asked for an other room, but the personal was not ready to provide it. Nor did they offer a discount for the quality of the room. The breakfast is enough, if you go early, but the selection is exatly the same every day. So, if one wants to stay for more days it might be boring. But generally speaking the stay in the hotel is not unbearable for its price.

Hard to find cos the map wasn't accurate - just use a detailed map. The room was fine, although springs on mattress were totally dead. Showers were great in the evenings but Baltic in the mornings (nobody warned us of this). The location was great - short enough walk to both the station and the forum.

Hotel was convenient for Termini and close to the coloseum. The buffet style breakfast was ample. Don't, if possible, get a room next to reception as the night man watches tv until the early hours and the noise is annoying.

The prices for accomodation in Rome are indeed becoming too high. The prices are twice the prices in Barcelona and Madrid for instance, for the same level of service and rooms, breakfast etc. I was very pleased with theservices and the rooms at Giubileo, so this comment is more of a general reflection.

We were delighted with our accommodation at the Hotel Giubelo which was very central to the bus terminus and within easy walking distance of the all the main attractions. We were surprised by the peace and quite at night. The breakfast was ample and always well displayed. The only disappointing factor was the size of the shower area in the bedrooms. There was not much room to turn round and one of our (rather larger) friends found it very difficult to shower. I have already told friends of the hotel and its facilities and would definitely use it again.
