We arrived optimistic and we met a smiling welkome at hotel Giolli. The presentation at the internet was exactly what we found. Even a little better. And we did got the room facing the backyard as we requested at the internet- exellent service. The staff was very professional, the breakfast was very nice, not the eggs- someone forgot to turn off the oven- it was rubber balls.., and the TV was jumping but totally we had 5 nice days at Giolli, walking disstance to everything- 3 minutes to the underground. A lovely city, lot of history, shopping for everyone, irish pubs and restaurants. The next time I travel to this fantastic city I`ll stay at Giolli again.

Our general impression was very good. The hotel is located in quite a busy avenue going down from Termini train station. We had been warned about the Termini area, but the hotel was not too near the station so we didn't feel any uncomfortable about the neighbourhood. Lots of shops and a few restaurants very close. The reception was in the first floor with no lift to get there, but there was a VERY narrow lift from there to the rooms. We honestly don't think a wheelchair would fit in there. The hotel staff were friendly and spoke several languages. The room was not too big but enough for 2 people to move around comfortably. We had interior views and were a bit bothered by the noise form an air conditioner motor outside. We asked to be moved to other room and we were told the front rooms were more expensive, but the staff was very friendly and not rude at all when dealing with this complaint. Bathroom big enough. Bathtub enough for a short person to take a bath. Just a thing about the room - heating was way too hot. Breakfast abundant, variety of sweets, but not that good for not-sweet breakfast, they only served hard boiled eggs. Bottom line: we were expecting much less due to the price and what one can find in budget hotels in most big cities. We recommend it to anyone (except for the wheelchair issue) and would indeed go back.

This was the most expensive and smallest of the hotel rooms I stayed in during a recent week long Italian trip. The single room was about the size of a closet with barely enough space to walk on one side of the single bed. Furthermore, the bed was not very comfortable, just a foam matress. The toilet was very smelly and caused quite an afront every time I entered the bathroom. I certainly expected more for €130 a night. The location, however, is fantastic. The room was clean and there was a lot of marble throughout the hotel. Still, I wouldn't stay at this hotel again.

Upon arriving we stood waiting at reception for ten minutes whilst the receptionist fiddled about with paper work and phone calls (unrelated to us) before acknowledging we had arrivied, very annoying for tired travellers. The room was quite small and dark however we didnt mind as it was quiet and always very clean. Breakfast was quite good ,lots of nice pastries etc. The same receptionist also told us he was too busy to help us when we asked for infomation about the metro. But location was perfect we walked everwhere and they let us use the lounge till early morning as our flight was very late which was a extremely useful. Overall the Hotel Giolli was just what we needed, a nice little hotel.

We stayed for one August night. The air conditioning was broken and there was no remote for the TV. When I reported these problems to the front desk I was told there was nothing he could do and I could speak with the manager in the morning if I had a problem with his answer.

This hotel was excellent. The location cannot be beaten. Walking distance to ancient ruins, good resturants and good bus service. The room was very good for 3 people and very clean and quiet. The employees were helpful and friendly and the breakfast was complete. There were no negatives

The only real real negative comment is that the regular coffee served at the breakfast buffet was mediocre. However, upon request, espresso, capuccino, latte, etc was made to order. This wasn't emphasised but I noticed someone else place their order so I did the same after suffering the first morning! Note that the hotel has been completely renovated, and done very nicely. I stayed here in March, 2007. The quality of the rooms, bathrooms and public areas is now terrific.

I was very impressed with this hotel and would visit it again or recommend it. The room was fairly small but recently and very comfortably furnished; the staff were friendly and the breakfast was pretty nice. The Giolli is in a good location. Nearby attractions: the Museo Nazionale at and near the Baths of Diocletian, Trajan's Markets, Trajan's Forum and Column, all within easy walking distance.

Great hotel and would definitely recommend it. Found it difficult first to find the reception, which is on the first floor of what looks like a residential building. Apart from theat nothing to complain about really. The room was spacious with high ceilings and wooden floors and a good quality en-suite. We had a room facing into the courtyard and as such there was no noise whatsoever. There was also a safe where I managed to put my laptop and passports, so it came in very handy. The breakfast is just what you would expect from 3 stars. The location is halfway between the station and the shopping/tourist area of Via del Corso and close to most Rome attractions.

We had a wonderful experience at the Hotel Giolli. The first room we were placed in had a very loud air conditioner. We told the desk person after checking the air conditioner himself he moved us to and upgraded room. Overall the front desk staff were very friendly and helpful.

My room was 206. Remarks: see the view from the window - i can enclose the photo! Following items were to improve: -the wanien border is strongly pitted and it hurts fingers - the closet flash is not working properly, - the menu of the breakfast is considering people eating sweets only - not all people can use the sugar

As a single female, I was a little afraid of the trip to Rome by myself. Hotel Giolli is in an excellent location with bus and taxi service just outside the door. Location of hotel is in a very safe area. I highly recommend Hotel Giolli especially for woman travelling alone.

We were quoted 80 euro per room per night on Venere.com When we got confirmation from the hotel, they had changed the price to 110 euro per room per night, yet it was still showing on venere.com as 80 euro. I queried this with the hotel and they wouldn't change it, and when we arrived we again asked about it and the guy seemed to think this was just normal, and showed us on the form where it said "quoted at 80 euro, now 110 euro" saying with a big smile "yes I changed it!" I don't think the hotel was good value at 110 euro. We had three rooms in all, two of which were fine, the other was much smaller and could have done with a refurb. One of the bathrooms was so small you had to sit sideways on the toilet! Location was great however.

I have marked the noise level badly - this was due to one person in the next room who came back late one night and turned on the TV and started singing very loudly. The concierge and some other guests asked him to be quite and he was. Except for this instance the noice level was acceptable

We paid for a "delux standard" on the site and when we got there the room they put us in was TINY. We brought it to their attention and what was specified by the confirmation, so they moved us to a bigger room (slightly) and made it seem like they were doing us a favor by putting us in a "better" room, eventhough it's what we paid for. The rooms were extremely clean and in a great location. We went all over Rome and walked most of the time, when we didn't the metro and buses were easily accessable.

The hotel was just what we had expected. we walked to all the sites in Rome. There is a cab stand right outside the door, so if you wanted to take a cab it was easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. Breakfast was great. All in all it was a great value for what we payed.

A very friendly hotel at a very competitive price due to the fact that it is situated right at the heart of all major attractions. You are literally around the corner from the Colosseum and Trevi Fountain and within walking distance of the Vatican City and Spanish steps. Ask at reception for restaurant recommendations as there are some wonderfull places to eat nearby.

I found the staff at the hotel Giolli to be very friendly and welcoming, they also had a good knowledge of the local area and even recommended a couple of very nice restaurants to visit in the evenings. The hotel is well situated close to both the Roman Forum and the Colosseum, but also only a short walk from the Termini station. I will definitely use this hotel if I visit Rome again!
