The water of the rest room doesn't stop. The maintenance of equipment is bad as the window doesn't close. It is not possible to go up if it is not the surroundings stairs because the elevator doesn't adhere to the second floor though the reception desk is the second floor, and there is an elevator.

This hotel does not meet the standard of a three star at all. The room is small and smelly. They don't change towel daily. internet is very expensive. The only good thing about the room is that they provide a double bed rather than two single beds putting together. Overall, the hotel is disappointing and not deserve the rating or price.

Hotel was okay, had to walk up stairs because we could not figure out the lift. But we knew it worked because we saw someone using it. The hotel was close to the train station and as two women traveling we mostly felt safe, but not much scenery in the area. The bathroom had a meldew smell but couldn't smell it when the door was closed, and the shower worked with plenty of hot water. Outside was noisy at night but I had my ear plugs. Staff was not super friendly but helpful when we needed them and they spoke English. Overall the place was decent and the price was right. If I was traveling on a strick buget I might stay there again.

Arrived early evening - window in room was open. Closed it and went out for dinner. on return realised reason for open window - the room stank of drains complained to the staff at the desk who found it very amusing . Said that the manager would come and speak to us in the morning - guess what? -he didn't show. Beware of room 18!

Clean rooms, very near from the termini station. Recommended. If I come back to Rome and don't find any place near the center at this price in a better place I'll stay here again for sure.

On arrival the employee at the front desk would not accept our credit card and wanted cash. We had to walk back a couple of kilometres to the cash card machine. This was inconvenient and it was very hot weather. Other than that other services were good.

We were in Rome with our grown children and their spouses to celebrate our 50th wedding anniversary. We only spent 2 days there and then were on to Tuscany. This was a great hotel because of it's location near the train station. Overall we had a great stay and would stay there again when in Rome.

Hotel is situated on the border of historical city centre, close to Metro and Train station Termini - good starting point to reach by walk nearly all historical centre (wear comfortable shoes) and to get very easy to Leonardo airport. Hotel entrance is not well marked - finally you will certainly find small reception on the firs floor. Breakfast was more than satisfactory. One side of the facility is close to little bit noisy street – it could be for someone little bit upsetting. Globally, I could recommend this place.

In general this hotel was what we expected - but we didn't expect a lot. The room was small and had a strong smell of chlorine. Bathroom was so small that they didn't even have a place to hang the towels. The breakfast had a very small choice, but I think for Europe this is still considered a very nice breakfast. The room was also VERY noisy - it was right near a large road, and the cars could be heard from almost 6:30 am. However, the staff was friendly (not very helpful, but they at least seemed to try), and the room was always clean. The location was excellent (5 mnute walk from the termini where all the metro lines and bus lines gather, too. We had one mis-hap with the hotel - the shower had a hole in it the second day and they were unable to neither fix it nor move us to another room due to full occupuncy. We had to skip the shower after a long day of walking in the sun, which made us a bit cranky. Other than this - this was a good experience and we liked it.

Globally a good hotel, though its rooms are partly at 1st floor and partly at 2nd floor of a building which hosts also other hotels. Hotel is renovated inside, but the building itself and the main stairs and elevator are in quite an old area which would deserve renovation. In may, A/C was not operating: without it, the room could be warm inside, but opening the window it was ok (but a lot of noise entered). Overall, a reasonable hotel (bus 492 will lead you everywhere in Rome), perhaps a little overpriced considering the global quality. I would consider it again if returning to Rome, but I will also check other alternatives in better positions, if available for a similar price.

Got 20 minutes of internet access for 1 euro. Shower was small. Breakfast had a nice selection including meat and cheese. Several hotels share the same building. Within easy walking distance of Termini, the main train station in Rome. Up a flight of stairs but there is a small elevator.

The room and bathroom was very clean. Breakfast was free and very good, I really like the orange juice and capuccino. It's a great hotel, I will go back to this hotel when I visit Rome next time.

Very convenient location for touring Rome, short walk to Termini (despite other reviews we had read no problem in this area at all, some lovely cheap restaurants nearby) where rail, bus and metro are accessed. Rooms were very clean and attractive, bed very comfortable with brilliant shower. Excellent breakfast especially chocolate croissants and lovely coffee! Cheese, cold meats, fruit, yogurt and cereals on offer too. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend.

We came to Rome the second time and wanted a little better quality than cheaper hostel -like hotels. Gabriella was a nice and proper hotel - quite recently renovated - true to the presentation. The room (No 18)was very nice and cleaned every day- with standing jacuzzi shower.(Had to fix the broken hose on the hair-dryer though with existing tape!).Breakfast-buffé was also ok. Must pay for an extra coffeé though! Many different personel, some good some not so good. Old papa was best! The lounge was small but with a TV and internet-acces (1 euro for 20-30 minutes). The room-price (70 euro/night)was ok because it was still low season (february).Around easter time and during sommer it will double! - too exspensive for that standard. Over all impression - nice and clean hotel - good value for the money (if you go low season)

This hotel was indeed close to the train station, which was about a 5 minute walk. the elevator is still brokem, it broke in August when too many people tried to get on with their luggage. breakfast was fine, there was a nice restaurant down the street where we went to both nights, affordable and good.

For a few nights in Rome, this hotel was perfectly serviceable. It was close to the main train station, which was essential for catching an early morning flight back to North America. The room was clean, and the bathroom was large, clean, and modern. Staff were friendly, and the local area is safe. I've stayed at worse places, so for the price, again, it's perfectly serviceable. It's not the Ritz, but it's also not a hostel.

Volveria a repetir.

We enjoyed our stay at the Gabrilla. Everyone was very nice and helpful. Our room was small, but clean. It was very easy to find using the directions provided. Our room had air conditioning which was very nice since we were in Rome when the temperatures were very hot (95-100 degrees) everyday. Breakfast was good. It was a bit noisy (doors slam shut) and the elevator did not work, but we liked the hotel and would stay there again on a future trip to Rome.

This was our first trip to Rome. We were supposed to stay with a friend, but ended up having to find a hotel at the last minute. Hotel Gabriella turned out to be a great choice! The staff are very friendly and helpful. They actually called a cab company for us to set up a ride to the airport which was great since we had to leave at 0330. The complimentary breakfast was fabulous! Fresh fruit, pastries, salami, cheese, juices, coffee (great coffee!). The air conditioning worked great, the bed was comfy, and the rooms were cleaned every day. The rooms were very quiet too. Our room was on the corner of a very busy intersection and our room was still quiet. The only real complaint is that the shower had no curtain (but this seems to be a common thing in Italy). The bathroom was nice otherwise. The location is fantastic. It is close to termini and there are some great local restraunts on the street (Via Palestro). I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for a nice room at an affordable price!

What is the best to say about that hotel, is the breakfast. We had choice between: cereals, croissants, meat, cheese, bread, toasts, oranges, juices, different kind of coffees. The cappucino was excellent, like in all Italy. Hotel location was best for visiting Roma, by walking, by bus or metro; 200 meters from the Termini station. The only difference with what was indicated on Venere, was that we had to pay for all the rental (5 days) at registration instead of at the end of our stay; but we could use our credit card, so it was'nt a problem, for us. The room was very nice and clean; the only thing negative, was the noise. We had to close the window to be able to sleep; but Rome is very noisy so it seems to be normal...

Friendly staff, nice clean hotel. Main problem was that although they say each room has individually controlled air conditioning, they only allow you to use it during summer - it wasn,t summer when we stayed but it was hot! Meant we had to have the window open and get outside noise (not too bad though as hotel was not on a main road). Decent breakfast provided. Close to main train station but a bit of a walk to main Rome sites.

Close to the train station, making it an easy place to catch a bus or the Metro. Bruna was was by far the friendliest and most helpful. Others on staff should take a page from her book. Rooms are very small, hard to move around. They do not seem to dust or wash the floors in the rooms very often. Plenty of dirty feet and socks to support that fact. Great breakfast and fresh, hot coffee, made to order!

My husband and I just stayed at the Gabriella and had a very nice stay. I requested Room # 3 (which they were happy to reserve for us) and it was much more spacious than our Venice and Florence hotels (a little smaller than a typical American double room). It had Jacuzzi jets on the box shower that were so nice after a long day of walking (we walked everywhere in the city!). We loved the breakfast every morning; croissants, pastries, rolls, meats, cheese, bread, cereal, yogurt, fruit, fresh juices. It was just a few blocks up from the middle part of Termini station, so very accessible for transportation. We didn't have any problem with the Termini area and it actually came in very handy. A couple of nights we got in late and there were several take-away pizza/kebob places open until 3am, a laundromat, and a pharmacy all on the same street. A few nights it was a little noisy late at night, but once we shut the window we had no problem. We never found a time when the computer was on when we wanted to use the internet, but you could access it for free 20 min a day in the sitting room. It was our first anniversary and on the last night we walked into the room to find a bottle of chilled champagne and two big chocolate Easter eggs waiting on the desk, compliments of the Gabriella. Very nice!

We stayed at Hotel Gabriella in March and we were very pleased with our stay. everything was as it was said on the web site. The hotel was easy to find and close enough to all major sites if you were prepared to walk. The main railway station as well as metro station were near and that was one of the main reasons we picked this hotel. Also the breakfast was good. I'd recommend this hotel to everyone.

This hotel suited our needs as a family on a budget very well. We were within 5 minutes of the main railway station with access to all trains, buses and metro, perfect for getting around Rome. We ate locally in several different restaurants all recommended by the staff. Staff were very helpful all round. The entrance is a little off- putting as several hotels operate out of the same building but once we got over this the rest was exactly as advertised. Breakfast was good value, rooms were not spacious but very very clean. The lift was antiquated but it worked and the children got a kick out of it ! We would definitely stay here again.

We had a wonderful stay at Hotel Gabriella. It is conveniently located within three blocks of the train station. The exchange rate we had booked at (and assumed we would pay at) differed from the one when we checked out, so much so that we paid £40 more for the week. The owner seemed a bit grumpy and unfriendly and we had a very bad reception initially (as the hotel was having work done) so the reception area looked rather seedy and like another world to that depicted in the web photos. Rooms and bathrooms were fine, (if smaller than the fish-eye lense photos). The reception area improved as the work was completed, but no apology whatsoever, (or explanation even), was made for the noise, mess, lack of proper reception etc. It could be a nice enough wee place but needs new ownership and enthusiasm. (The female staff seemed nice.) Having said all that it would be fine for a few days stay but don't expect the warm family atmosphere that I saw mentioned in one listing. I do not wish my views to be public as I feel it may put potential customers off going there, and I feel it is unfair for one person's comments to have such a negative effect. However, I think it would be good for the hotel to be made aware of the impression they are giving. A flashy new reception area means nothing without a genuine receptive welcome, a real intention to help tourists enjoy their stay and a consistent friendly atmosphere.

Street noise was horrible between morning market and the sirens. Overall good value for the money. We felt safe and the room was always clean but a bit run down. Staff was decent. Would stay here again but in a room that doesn't face the street.

The Gabriella was clean, employees were competent, breakfast was simply the best and we looked forward to it daily, and the price was as quoted. They were doing construction on one wing of the hotel but it didn't bother us a bit. It's not a luxury hotel but that's not what we wanted anyway. The location was great with good little restaurants all around and we never felt unsafe walking at night. We would stay there again if we came back to Rome.

When, we got off the train we didnt have any problem finding the hotel. When you get into the building its a little confusing since there is about 2-3 other hotels in the same building all ranging from 1 to 3 stars. The location was great if you wanted to be close to the train station for your next itenary if you were planning on taking the train somewhere else or planning on taking an early flight out of Rome. The outside was very noisy because of the street market. At night its noisy as well since there is a restraraunt about half a block away. The rooms were nice and updated, but the craftmanship was not up to par. Our door leading inside to our room wasnt level and the door would stop half way, and you had to push the door vigorously to open the door. The shower was very nice and had all sorts of gadgets on it as for water spraying is concern. It even had a water mist appartus on it. The only drawback on the shower was the fact the door didnt close all the way so when you got out there was water all over the floor and it would run back towards the toilet bowl. When it came to quietness it was so-so inside. When someone flushed the toilet you could hear it all around you. Though the owners made a great effort in renovating and its not ugly inside there were still some things that annoyed me such as some of the tiles in the hallway actually moving underneath your feet. Breakfast was okay, but I think it was more on the sucky side. The only thing that was good was the capucinno. I guess the main thing that annoyed me was the fact the same lady that was cleaning our rooms was the same one serving us. Just didnt go right to see her in her cleaning uniform cutting ham or making you coffee if you get my drift. The main living room was actually the best part I like about the hotel. It was really nice and the Internet connection was fast and free. Overall, this isnt a bad hotel for a 2 star. If you are young at heart trying to really save money a

It's a realy good two-star hotel, but the breakfast-service isn't as good as it should be. The surrounding is pretty noisy and the shower is as big as a stamp.

It ended very dissapointing. The hotel itself was fair and just enough to make you comfortable. The shower room was extremely small. The owner was so bitter had No hospitality. We end up paying "regular price" because we request earlyer check-out. He offered to compromise on staying another night with Gabriella later on our trip, but he didn't make resevation anyway. Thanks.

The hotel was exactly what we wanted in a good position and withing easy walking for all the major attractions. The staff were extremly helpful and very pleasant. Their recommendation for a local restaurant was a bonus - check out La Reatina - only 3 blocks away. We would certainly stay here on our next visit.

Very convenient to Stazione Termini and A & B Metro lines. Street market in AM a bit noisy. Lots of young people around so street noise at nite. Prefered to leave windows open but closed when street too lively. Good all-round especially if using public transport.

I stayed at Gabriella in a double room with my wife for three nights. We were very pleased with the Hotel as indicated in my rating. However my sister in law and her family arrived to stay on our third night. They stayed in a quad room and the standard of their room just didn't compare to ours! It was very basic where as ours was of a higher standard, especially the bathroom. I was very pleased with Venere.com and with the help from Gabriella regarding arranging a pick up car from the airport.

All round nice, deco, staff, presentation, especially bathroom very modern and clean. A significant disadvantage however was that the air conditioning was essentially just a fan. And there was a lot of noise outside the window one of the nights we stayed due to people talking loud in the stairway. Going in winter should be okay, but summer, a working air conditioning is a must.

Generally a good hotel, nothing amazing but just what I needed really. It is right by the Termini which makes it easy to get to the attractions in the city. If you were any closer to the main attractions you would have to pay a lot more and things are easily walkable from here. There are also plenty of restaurants around the corner so you don't have to venture far if you don't want to. They provided everything they said they would and I couldn't put my finger on any faults. Suited my needs perfectly.

We enjoyed our stay here and the staff were very accommodating. The room was clean and the breakfasts were very good. Although close to the station this was actually an advantage - we had no trouble getting a bus back to the hotel at the end of each day. There are good restaurants in the area for dinner which are very reasonable. If you want good accommodation at a reasonable price, this is the place to go.

This hotel was an excellent value for what we paid. It was a little scary at first when we pulled up to the hotel and saw uncollected trash sitting outside of the lobby in huge plastic trash bags...about 15 of them!! However, once inside it was a very lovely hotel and although the rooms are small they were very clean. Bathroom was one of the largest we had for our entire stay in Italy. Breakfast was very good.

Fantastic! Service is excellent. The people are kind, helpful and welcoming. My boyfriend and I were delighted, especially when we found champagne in our room to celebrate our birthdays! (You do not get that kind of attention and generosity too often these days) The decor within the hotel is beyond 2 stars, with the en suite bathroom better than some 4 star hotels that I have stayed at. The location is perfect, less than 5 minutes from the main bus/train station. The one and only reason that I could find for this hotel being a 2 star, is possibly the breakfast. 2 types of cereal and some pastries.. But very good coffee! I didn't mind about the breakfast as there was a great place nearby for good scrambled eggs and pancakes (which you should experience anyway). I would honestly look no further for good, affordable accommodation and will undoubtedly stay there again. Take my advice and book the Hotel Gabriella!

A good mark of the Hotel Gabriella is that it's a totally no smoking hotel! We found this hotel very comfortable and well run:the staff is young, dinamic, the owner is really kind and treats you so warmly that you can truly feel at home.We really loved buffet breakfast, the delicious cappuccino, ham, cheese, fresh fruits. Our room was charmingly decorated, spacious and clean. Very good relationship price/quality! We will reccomend the hotel to our fiends and we will come back for sure. Thanks Venere.com

The hotel is Ok but by no means the best we stayed in while visiting Italy, considering quality vs. price. The bathrooms are specially large and clean. The staff (owner) can be a little grouchy, gives the impresion that he is tired of his business.

Rooms were pleasant and clean, except for the shower curtain which was covered with black mold and so disgusting that it made you wince to touch it. Our room was close to the breakfast room, and wasn't all that quiet in the morning. The room was also on the small side. The hotel was in a handy location near the Termini, and breakfast was good with great capuccino. The beds were comfortable, and they were made up everyday. It was a decent and pleasant enough place to stay for a few days.

Hotel Gabriella is terrific! When my husband I arrived,at the check in ,I've been given an helpfull Rome guide (which has the Hotel advertising)with a lot of infos and pictures. The staff have neen so nice to me,(thanks Barbara!)suggesting me a very good restaurant nearby and a sightseeing tour at night. As I was staying only one night,my purpose was to see all I can!Even if you definitely need more time to see Rome! The Hotel is located near termini, which is great, because it's so easy to move around, and the area is quiet and cozy.My room, facing the Via Palestro was stunning.I defy you to find a 2 stars hotel furnished with such a taste! Don't miss breakfast, because you will love it! I've never had such a good capucino...delicious..the manager told me he has been nominated "capuccino master"!I definitely reccomend Hotel Gabriella and next time I will stay more!

Our room faced the courtyard and for that reason it was really quiet which did enable a good night sleep. At the same time it would be nice if the above mentioned courtyard could be cleaned from time to time. Up to now it probably never occurred, as one can guess from the heaps of rubbish.

For our trip to Rome we just wanted somewhere cheap to crash out which was clean and tidy after a long day sightseeing, eating and drinking. The Gabriella fitted the bill perfectly. It's a reasonable cost and the rooms are air-conditioned and clean. The only criticism I have is that the shower unit is a bit small which I imagine would make showering a little tricky if you're a largish person. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Termini stationwhich is great for getting the metro into town and also if you fly with Easyjet where you can get a cheap coach to and from Ciampino for your flights. Neat.
