We were delighted with our stay of 2 nights. The location was perfect for visiting all of the sights, we could walk to the Vatican and take the Metro to the other famous places. The staff were wonderful, the breakfast out in the patio garden was a great start to the day and by walking a few blocks north we even found the Seargent Pepper Bar, a small british style pub with Danish beer dedicated to the Beatles!

Very nice stay. Extremely warm welcome, specially because we were honey mooners. Actually, the whoele staff presented itself very frently and corteous during the whole stay. Indeed, the music aspect of the hotel can light up the stay. There is a stereo in the room and a whole collection of CD's at the reception from wich one can borrow from. Kind of near Vatican, but a little away from the closest subway station, 15 minutes walk.

Not your typical Italian hotel, but my favorite place to stay in Rome.

First and foremost, I would/will stay here whenever I'm in Rome. The hotel staff is very welcoming. It's spotless. The continental breakfast is excellent - fresh and a good variety. It's very close to the vatican and if you're a decent walker, you can get to a lot of other places easily. The metro stop is about 3 blocks away, so it's super convenient as well. It's on a side street and it's easy to walk by, but it becomes "home" quickly. We traveled with another couple that had a 3 year old and it all worked out great. I've already recommended it to others.

Excellent hotel, very good breakfast (for italian standards), and the music concept is a very good idea. The staff was helpful and very welcoming. I would definitely recommend it.

This hotel is in a quiet neighborhood (good for sleeping) and 5 minutes walk from the Vatican, 3 minutes from the subway, and maybe 7 minutes from the beautiful Tiber River. The rooms are clean, elegant, and full of fun rock and roll touches like a disco ball in the bathroom, a B&O stereo (no iPod inputs sadly), and a nice flat screen TV. The owners could not be more helpful and friendly and the free breakfast is quite good. For the price, you really cannot get a better hotel!

We were thrilled with the Franklin. We were treated like we were "royalty". As a matter of fact - we had to check out at 6 a.m. to make a plane - the hotel wanted to pack us a portable breakfast cause breakfast was included. That's just above and beyond! Quiet, clean and priced right. A little out of the way - but we managed just fine. Would highly recommend and if in Rome again - would bok it for sure!

This is a gem of a hotel. Ten minutes walk from the Vatican, and also the bus routes that will take you round all the sights of Rome. For wheelchair access it is excellent. The shower is small but adapted, if you are not able to weight bare you will need a stool. Highly recommend this hotel and we will be staying again. The staff were fantastic.

We had excellent service at the hotel, we appreciated the offer of the car service as well as the dinner recommendation. Franklin also game us a complimentary bottle of champagne for our anniversay which we enjoyed.

We stayed in a 'rock' room at the hotel. The music theme is kept pretty subtle and quirky (snare drums for bedside tables). We found all of the staff members we encountered friendly and helpful in a casual way, rather than the over-formal style of many hotels. Our room was spacious, cool and quiet, with a good CD sound system. The hotel was a little tricky to find at first (the map on Venere was not detailed enough), but was only a 5-10 min walk from the metro, and around a 15 min walk to the Vatican. Breakfast was good, with a good variety, and we enjoyed eating it outside in the courtyard garden. We paid 94 euros on a pre-paid rate from Venere, which we thought represented excellent value.

Just the only one hotel I know in Rome, but I´m sure I will back there in my next stay. Clean and quiet room, the best service if you don´t like to feel yourself as a tourist. Good crew working there...

The noise of the upstairs' WC are really disturbing when your sleeping in your hotel. We've been told that we could have play guitar or any other instrument in the room but regarding the noise of the flushing system i really doubt about the tolerance of the neighbouring rooms. It's really a big problem, and really too bad, because your hotel is really good. Regards

my wife myself and our 12y/o son finished up a med cruise with 3 days in rome at the franklin fell the music. the staff was very pleasent and helpful and our accomodations were comfortable. we chose this hotel because it was nonsmoking since many hotels in rome allow smoking. we were given a room next to the elevator which was a little noisey at night but we were generally to tired from sight seeing to let it bother us. make sure you get a taxi driver with a gps because no one heard of the street the hotel is located on. the area was convenient to the metro and the vatican is a 10 minute walk. note all resturants are more expensive near the attractions it would be nice to have one english speaking channel on the tv that wasn't the news all in all we were comfortable but there weren't alot of amenities which we didn't need because our plan was to sight see returning only at night after dinner

An excellent hotel. Very clean, well-stocked room, great location (10 min walk from Vatican), quiet area, very friendly, helpful staff. Overall, excellent value for money. We will definitely be returning here when we go back to Rome.

Staff could be a bif more friendly. The restuarant over the road was recommended - it was awful food over priced and servuce terrible. Other than that a fantastic quirky hotel and good value for money.

Cd library in the lobby, disco ball in the bathroom, drums for nightstands?? This was the most unique hotel I have ever stayed at and I loved it. In a great section of Rome just minutes from the Vatican museum and just across the river from everything else. Loved this place. My only complaint was that I did not see that hottie in the pictures, but I think my wife was happy about that!

FFTS is a very particular hotel with a strong musical target. Even if not a large hotel, it's quite wellcoming and confortable. Rooms are provided with a high quality stereo system and many CD are available in the hall. Good idea! The hotel is located in a quiet area near S. Pietro, but its surroundings are not notable. Indeed is fairly easy to reach the centre with public services.

This place was really cool! Loved the disco ball in the bathroom. No really! It was a very clean, hip, fun place to stay for the night. I would definitely stay here again. The only slight problem was the lack of ample food in the morning...too many big eaters indulging in the free breakfast. Would highly recommend this hotel. Very close to the Vatican, trains, etc. In a safe neighborhood. Our taxi had a bit of a problem finding it though because it is on a residential street.

The Franklin Sound was the best hotel we stayed in our entire trip. It was clean, spacious, well-furnished, and comfortable. The employees were very, very good at their jobs and cared about the well-being of their customers. I would recommend this hotel to anyone staying in Rome. It's about a 10 minute walk to the Vatican walls.

I cannot begin to count the number of hotels I researched via the internet before selecting this one. Without question it was the right decision. This hotel is unique! The themed design is unique and attention to detail second to none. The helpfulness and courtesy of everyone we met was outstanding. The service was excellent. Breakfast was excellent. I thought the attraction (particularly for my three sons) of the multimedia facilities would put a stop to our cultural activities, but we managed to find a balance! The recommendations given us for eating locally and in the city proved excellent.

too small room and no greatly furnished as expected considering the price. CDs not in order while showering water would filter through and spread all over the bathroom. Very helpfull and friendly personnel!

The decor in the hotel was very unique. Drums used as bedside tables. There is a CD player in the room and you can borrow CD from the hotel lobby to listen in the rooms. There are books that can be borrowed and we borrowed the Steve Ricks guide to Rome from the hotel lobby, it helped us get around Rome tremendously and it taught us how to avoid the long queues at the Sestine Chapel. Great hotel and great staff.

We booked one type of room and upon arrival it was not ready. The room they gave us the first night was literally a big closet!! The second night the room was the one we had originally booked and it was normal for European standards...the bathtub had a big problem with the shower wetting everything and it was very moldy...for the rest it was fine. One of your employees Alexandra did an EXCELLENT job in helping us out. The rest of the staff was average. Good breakfast and location only good for the Vatican area, far from the tourist area so it was more quiet and a very nice residential area. It was frustrating since we only stayed two nights and the second night we had to leave at 700 am and I feel the discount given to us Euros 20 per person was not enough for the inconvenience caused.

Stayed with friends for a weekend in Rome. The hotel was great! We LOVED the CD collection and the sound systems in the rooms. Awesome theme decor too... It was so much fun! Breakfast was good and the staff was helpful. Internet was free but I had to go to the lobby to use it because the signal wasn't strong enough in our room. It's a LONG walk from the center, but a cheap cab ride. Will recommend this to friends!

We booked this hotel online from Sorrento asking for one of the rooms with the private patio. We followed up by sending an email and the staff promptly responded saying they would do the best they could. When we checked in, the room we requested was available and it was everything we wanted and more. Private garden patio, spacious room, comfortable bed, flat screen TV, CD player, speakers in the bathroom and a big jacuzzi tub. Very decent breakfast. The hotel staff are extremely helpful and very friendly. All of our requests were taken care of promptly. The hotel is a half block off the main street that leads to the Vatican, so very central. I would highly recommend this hotel and I would definitely book this place again the next time I go to Rome. And what an excellent way to wrap up a month long trip through Italy.

Very helpful, friendly and efficient staff. Loved the hotel, particularly being able to borrow and play CDs. The bed was very comfortable , and the room was clean and quiet. Location was great for visiting the Vatican, if a little bit far from the Metro to go into town.Lots of great eating and drinking within easy reach. Hope to return, and recommend the hotel.

Franklin was one of those rare hotel finds that I will remember and refer to people for a long time to come. It brings together the best of upscale, "cool-factor" boutique hotels with the personal services offered in small European B&B's. Breakfast was great. Bringing CD's from the lobby to our room was great. We had a really beautiful patio off the back of our room where we could sit in a garden and read books and drink coffee in the mornigns. In-room wi-fi... need I say more??? I would definitely book this place again the next time I go to Rome.

Too bad too much has been tried in this hotel ; too much was then set to fail. The cordless keyboard refused to work, as did the scale in the bathroom. The staff was OK, but needed a map to indicate the most obvious sights. The most annoying feature was the loud music at breakfast : a "musical" hotel is it such a good idea after all ? Regarding the location, nothing has to be expected, it's a remote area of Roma devoid of any specific interest. Not a great experience, but OK enough for the price I guess.

On approaching the street there was a sign at the end advertising the hotel. This was not, however, at the end of the street that the hotel was on, which was confusing. On entry we were 'greeted' by a lady who was quite cold towards us. She gave us our room keys, then said 'passport' rather abruptly. We gave her our passports for her to photocopy then she handed over the keys. We went up to the room, opened the door and realised that it had other people's stuff in it! It was a good job it wasn't occupied or it could have been very embarrasing. It's a good job we aren't light fingered too! We went back down to swap keys to a room that was free, which was a hassle as we had our big cases and were exhausted. She managed to utter an apology under her breath. Once in the room, it mostly lived up to expectations, but by no means a four star hotel, as I stayed in a three star in CZ earlier in the year and it was easily comparable. There were no towelling robes as advertised either. The bed was two singles pushed together, ans as we asked for a double, it was another disappointment. It was also very uncomfortable, and as I suffer from back problems, I was in agony when I woke up each morning. The choice of TV channels was a let down, with only three english speaking channels: BBC world (rubbish) American news channel (even worse) and buisness news (horrendous). I ended up watching an italian game show on xmas eve and almost enjoyed it. Oh yes, and Simon and Garfunkle in concert on continuous loop - now I'm a huge music fan, but I nearly topped myself after a week of this drivel. The rest of the stay was ok apart from us recieving a telephone call in the evening (I think it was after 12) saying that someone had complained about the loud music. Okay, I hold my hands up if it was late and excessive, but firstly, I thought the rooms were supposed to be soundproofed, and the Hotel is called Franklin - feel the sound. I didn't get that at all. The last time I was told off for
