Still a lovely hotel although the rooms and especially the bathrooms could do with updating. The location is fantastic and there is nothing like having breakfast on the roof terrace and dinner in the roof top restaurant gazing out onto the lit up Forum is an amazing experience. Still my favourite hotel in Rome.

There is a bar across the street that stays open until 3 AM. The patrons stay outside and talk loudly all evening. Since the hotel's AC was off, the window had to be opened for air and the street noise made it difficult to sleep. Also, motorcycles passing in front of the hotel all evening added to the problem.

Business, traveler, It is ridiculous rate this hotel as 4 star, the room furniture are really poor, the TV it was more than old style, in-room mini bar poor, room Japanese dimension, you could hear all noise coming from the Hotel corridor, elevator small and smelly, horrible breakfast, I will not came there again.

The hotel itself was quiet, but the street noise was quite loud with the window open. The view made it all worth it though. The bathroom was much roomier than in many other European hotels. Staff was very discrete and courteous. I would definitely recommend it to others.

The hotel was in a lovely position - but it was a bit pricy, but i suppose that is what you expect in Rome. The hotel staff were very helpful. We had a lovely room right at the front of te hotel - but I wonder if we did not have a room with a view, might we have found it a little expensive .......

Cancelled upon arrival and moved to another hotel. Made reservations more than 6 months in advance for 3 peoplew/ view/ Room was for 2. They would add a cot after removing all other furniture in a SMALL room. Larger room offered had view of alley. Lots of construction in front of hotel. Not worth the money.

The hotel is located in an excellent area, with lot's of nice scenery surounding the hotel. The rooms are quite small, but clean and sufficient enough. The roof terrace is a fantastic experience, you can basically sit there all day and enjoy the view.

As a young couple this was our first trip to Rome. We enjoyed our stay in Hotel Forum. In particular: - Nice comfortable room with lovely view over the Forum (make sure to ring the hotel to ask for this) - Buffet breakfast was very good, and view on the roof terrace area is impressive - We found the staff to be very helpful and friendly, providing us information on good places to eat, attractions, etc. - Nice character to the hotel - Location is great, Colosseum is down the street and we walked to all the main destinations, including Spanish Steps (20 minute walk) and Trevi Fountain Only possible drawbacks: - Double bed was 2 single beds pushed together with sheet over the top, but this might be the case for alot of hotels in Rome. Again, ring the hotel directly to ask. This didn't bother us to be honest though. - Hotel restaurant is pricey for evening meals so just ask reception for some good restaurants in the area.

Very comfortable. Excellent breakfast for Rome only occasionally spoilt by dopey service from the youths serving the coffee. The double glazing wasn't sufficient to eliminate the noise from outside the bars/clubs across the narrow street. Otherwise, of a good, old-fashioned standard.

We upgraded to a family room (2 interconnected rooms) and it was well worth the extra cost as the rooms were a very good size. Staff at the hotel were all genuinely friendly and helpful. As others have mentioned, the hotel restaurant is overpriced - breakfasts were fab with a view of the forum, but we felt the restaurant was trying a bit too hard (and not quite getting there !) in the evening. That's my only negative comment, other than that we loved the hotel, its staff and its location.

Great hotel, fantastic location. Don't try to drive there though - the map shows you the location but leaves you (after a battle trhough Roman traffic) at the wrong end of a one way street. Send a runner in to reception to drive your car into their garage !

The forum will divide opinion greatly. You will find very few hotels that can offer the sumptous location as this does. Overlooking the forum, quarter of a mile from the Colloseum, behind piazza venezia. You are simply a stones throw away from everything a trip to Rome can offer. However, as such it is simply a case that you are paying for the postcode. The hotel itself looked like something from an Agatha Christie novel, the staff were as starched as their shirts and the prices at both the bar and in the restaurant suggested that they were aiming themselves at a market where cost is of no matter. We chose the Forum for a lavish affair in the heart of Rome, and that is what we got. If we were to return, we feel that we are more inclined to go for a modern hotel, away from the tourist locations, that offers much more than an eye to the past.

We loved much about the Forum, the location and interior. Rooftop restaurant and breakfasts were delightful. On the downside, the water temp in the shower was hard to regulate. I also question whether we had a triple that we paid for or a double with an extra cot. Also, they overcharged at the bar on the roof but when questioned, took it off the tab.

The hotel hits everything on a good note. Clean rooms, great service, elegant although out-dated furnishings. The breakfast was over-done. Really excellent to eat breakfast looking at the Roman Curia and ruins. If there is any downside it was that my room didn't have a desk (4 stars should, right?) and while it is very convenient to the Forum and the Capitoline Museums it is a long walk to Piazza Navona and Campo DiFiori where the action is. Would I stay there again? Yes. Would I look for a similar experience in a better location before staying there, definitely. Oh, one other thing. When I walked into the hotel after 15 hours of travel I was unshaven and wearing shorts. I got a dirty look from the front desk staff which disappeared when I pulled out my AmEx Platinum card. It was the only bad staff experience I had.

This hotel is in a wonderfull location right opposite the Forum and couldn't be better for visiting all the sights. We were given 2 linked rooms which was a bit of a surprise as we had booked 2 double deluxe rooms. However they were very nice and quiet although the view did leave something to be desired - a wall. If you do want a room with a view be warned the road immediately outside the hotel whilst small and cobbled is a real rat run so would be noisy. The only complaint about this hotel is the breakfast - it is dreadfull. Breakfast is served on the roof terrace which is magical with spectacular views. The food at breakfast though does not live up to the location nor the 4 star rating. Tinned fruit, one type of very hard bread roll. Limited meat & cheese and 2 hot dishes plus some sweet stuff. I have had better breakfasts in Italy in 2 star establishments. Breakfast aside, the hotel was welcoming, easy to find and location could not be faulted.

Family of four in the smallest room I have ever stayed in and then charged an extra 30 euros for a baby bed. The air con was noisy and the bathroom a bit smelly. Overall not impressed, as have stayed at far better and cheaper hotels. Location good though. Would not advise for anyone with young children as they would need to be quiet, as this is more a venue for couples. Try the Domus Sessoriana - great hotel, half the price!

It was an Okay place, but it was no four star hotel. The quality vs. the price was the same. Any four star in the states is twice as good and probably does not charge as much. I did stay at a 2 star in Rome that was worth the money we paid. Scotts House

We stayed at the forum for our honeymoon, location was excellent, the room a little small but we had an wonderful view of the forum ruins from our window.the staff were courteous and resonably friendly, although the language barrier was a problem on a couple of occasions. this was our first visit to rome and it most certainly not be our last, a wonderful city, but must remember to take more comfortable shoes next time (we walked everywhere).overall very pleased with the hotel, and would recommend although maybe it should be classed more a 3 star hotel, was not as luxurious as initially expected.

Our stay at the forum was perfect. The hotel was in walking distance to pretty much everything, and the views from our room were beautiful. The breakfast was good, except for the canned fruit. The location is fabulous and it´s actually what makes the hotel worth it. The hotel itelf is OK, but they offer "temperature control" in all rooms, which is only Air conditioning that is turned off between Sept and April. So, if you get hot, you have to open the window and then it gets noisy. Everything else was really good

If you want to stay in the old part of Rome, this is the place. We went mid December but we still got wonderful views from the roof as you have breakfast up there as well. I requested that we had a room with a view and a view we got. From our bedroom window we could see the Roman Forum, stunning!!! I must admit that the welcoming at the check-in of the hotel was below average, considering the price we are paying for the hotel stay. The older person at the check-in (about 55-60 yrs) was quite obnoxious and never greeted ourselves when entering the hotel in the next two days. When asked to receive back our ID cards after about 30 minutes, which he needed to fill in for the check-in, he stated that he needed time to do that (he hadn't even started) and that my girlfriend should then do it herself. He said we shouldn't push him because we live in Europe , not in America. (though we are Belgians ourselves) I think this is really poor service indeed and it's sad because this one person has achieved to bring down a bit your hotel's otherwise marvellous service.

Perfect location for those who want to explore ancient Rome. Restaurants near by ranged from entirely acceptable to very good, and the wine bar just around the corner was outstanding. This hotel was in an excellent position with the view from our room unforgettable. The actual room was comfortable but the furnishings were shabby and not up to a four star hotel. It was spotless and the bathroom excellent - but a word of warning do not pull the switch above the bath. It made a very loud noise and cut off the electricity in the bathroom which was never put back on after reporting it. The roof top restaurant has an unforgettable view and I shall have a great memory of eating my breakfast there - one of the highlights of my stay in Rome in fact. Unfortunately we found the staff were not very friendly or approachable. This hotel is an excellent location for those interested in exploring the ancient Roman Forum, the Colosseum and the beautiful Capitoline museum. The concierge Franco and Marco assisted us in booking marvelous tours around and out of Rome. The breakfast included in the price was fantastic. From the second night and until we left, we took a room with a view, it was a little noisy for my husband but I enjoyed it. The coffee and wine are excellent. The staff is very welcoming, we had a wonderful time and would return! I could not give a good rating to the resturant though, they could be a little simplier.

The concierges at the Forum were most helpful. They were a pleasure. The attention to detail was outstanding. Breakfast was very good in very pleasant surroundings. Location of the Forum is perfect for the visitor from outside Italy.

An excellent value and great location for sight-seeing during our off-season stay ($180/night). Perhaps a tad questionable at the normal rates, though.

Dear Sirs, it was an excellent stay from all points of view. I was particularly pleased that the hotel could even improve on the spot the accommodation booked for my family in order to make my children's stay that much more comfortable. I always stay at the Forum when I visit Rome but this was the first time with my wife and two children. In spite of the last minute change of accommodation when we checked in, the quality/price ratio remained quite acceptable. Finally the service remains superb (room service, concierge, roof terrace). Yours sincerely Malik Annabi

This hotel is almost impossible to find if you are driving! We spent two hours trying to get to it by car. They need to include driving directions. Otherwise, it was a wonderful experience.
