price too expensive if you consider the spaciousness of bedroom and bathroom

The hotel is well situated for the historic sites in Rome so was very good for sightseeing, particularly as my Mum is older. The rooms were quite small but well appointed and the air-conditioning was great as Rome in summer is very hot and humid. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. the actual street the hotel is in is rather crummy looking so if you are offended by graffiti it may not be the place for you - but Rome is just like that and it wasn't in any way threatening. Good trattoria on the corner with perfectly acceptable house wine.

Hotel muy recomendable, buena ubicación cerca del Coliseo y del Vittoriano, excelente atención, salvo el recepcionista del primer día que parecía enojado. La habitación correcta, con una pequeña terraza propia con vista a una tranquila calle. Desayuno completo y sabroso. Realmente para volver.

Fori Imperiali Cavalieri was absolute perfection--the staff was very friendly and helpful, the rooms were great, the breakfast with made-to-order cappuccinos, the location, etc... Everything was even better than I expected!

While the staff was most helpful, the quality of the room is not anything like what is reflected in the photos. Everything is old and dingy.

Reception staff was very friendly and efficient. Public areas were very nice, clean and refurbished. Breakfast was also very nice. The location of the hotel is perfect, there was also few nice restaurants in the area. The only problem we had was the room. Originally we were given 203, it was small, smelly and the decor was extremly old. I have never seen room like this. Bathroom was also not nice and old. We changed the room after 2 nights and it was a bit better.

Considering this hotel is a brief stroll from the Colleseum and Roman Forum it was in a quiet street away from the noise of Italian traffic and crowds of tourists, though can't say the same for other guests. Comfortable rooms, lovely views from roof terrace, and helpful staff.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who asked. While our room was not large, it was perfect for our needs. The bathroom was more spacious than I had anticipated, and both the room and the bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was excellent, with sliced meat, cheese, toast, four kinds of cereal, yogourt, and pastries. The location can not be beat--so close to the Forum and Colosseum, yet quiet at night, with lots of restaurants around for dinner. I'm not sure how it would be for children, since we didn't have ours with us, but I would highly recommend this hotel for couples of any age and for business travellers.

The location was great, just 2 blocks from Colisseo and also near a lot of restaurants, bars, bus and Metro station. The problem was that the room was very little. If you want to walk a little more, maybe you can pay less in a good and cheaper hotel near Roma Termini

This is a great location, just walk down the street and you can see the colosseum. The breakfast is great and the staff were polite and accomodating. Our room had the private double layered terrace and was spacious especially by European standards. I really appreciated the great water pressure in the shower and the comfy pillows on the bed. We slept with the windows open a couple of evenings and we were not bothered by noise except for an overly enthusiastic seagull on the house behind us.

We are a couple in our 40s with 13 and 9 year old daughters. We visited Rome April 21-26, 2008 and spent 5 nights in a 4 person room on the second floor of this great hotel (has an elevator if you get tired by the end of a long day). It is located in a very quiet street (Via Frangipane) but yet only a 5 min walk from the Roman Forum, 10 min walk from the Coliseum, 10 min cab ride to the Vatican City and overall very accessible to all major sites in ancient Rome. There are numerous of restaurants within a walking distance. The hotel overall was sparkling clean. The room was spacious in European terms. 1 queen size bed and 2 separate single beds for the girls. Very nice bathroom (no bathtub), a safe, 15” TV (if you care about that when you visit Italy…). Excellent breakfast is served between 7am-10am which was very filling to us (the cappuccino was awesome!). The breakfast staff was very attentive in refilling missing items. The front desk staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. They spoke decent English and assisted us with recommendations to local restaurants, checking for opening hours, calling cabs and such.

The hotel is very well located but it's really very expensive for what you have(very small and noisy rooms, very small bathrooms,...). In other countries this hotel would be a 2 stars hotel. Pictures on the site don't correspond to the real size of the premises (rooms and common areas). Employees are very kind and always ready to help you.

Superbly located hotel, just 2 blocks from the Forum in one direction and 2 blocks from the Colosseum in the other direction. On a quiet back street, so rooms are quiet (by Rome standards, anyway). Breakfast buffet was excellent - best croissants ever, lots of variety and very nice cappucino. Lovely roof top garden as well. As other reviewers have said - don't expect a lot of space per euro spent in Rome - but we had plenty of room in our family room which accomodated all 4 of us nicely. The only downside - hard, hard beds.

Top attraction of this hotel was its location. 2 Min walk from the Coliseum and the Metro, even closer to a host of Cafe's, restaurants and shops. Breakfast is fairly average but get there early if you want a full selection. Rooms were slightly less appealing than the pictures on the web site suggest but very clean and no real complaints. We stayed in Rome for 3 nights and found the hotel to be in an excellent position for sight seeing. Most of the obvious sights and attractions are walkable from here but you may wish to use the metro for the Vatican which is 2 mins away. On the whole I enjoyed the hotel. Good value at less than 150 Euros per night but expensive if advertised at more.

We stayed in tho single rooms, because we are mother and grown-up son. The rooms was very small. Photographs and presentation is far from the reality. The hotel is ok, but the staff is not so serviceminded. The breakfast is poor and the rooms too small to be a three stars hotel, more like London - exspensive.

Excellent location, reasonably friendly staff and quite clean. The rooms are small, and not all the same for the same price. We came on vacation with another couple and their room was tiny and not nearly as pretty as ours (furnishings, decorations, bathroom fixtures), and had a bathroom half the size of ours without a tub, but the price was identical.

This property is in a very good location for the forums and the Collsieum. The hotel is located on a small back street and therefore is very quiet in the midst of a busy area. We've been to Rome twice and will definitely be going again. We will stay at this hotel again as the location was superb and the quality was excellent. The staff were always willing to help out. They even provided cork-screws and plates when we brought groceries for roof-top dining. From this hotel, we walked 10 - 15 km every day. There were several (less crowded) treasures within a 30 minute walk of the hotel. The metro was a few minutes away, which was nice at the end of the day. The restaurant they recommend was one of the best we've ever been to.

Our second visit to the Fori Imperiali and we will return again when visiting Rome. Location is ideal for the Colosseum and Forum and is surrounded by reasonably priced family run restaurants. On our previous visit we were offerred a free aperitivo in the Hotel bar each evening and took advantage of the same this visit, only to find on departure that the free service had been withdrawn. Credit to the Manager for reducing our Bar bill when realising the misunderstanding.

Firstly the location of this hotel is second to none - 2 minutes walk to the Colosseum and everything else only a few minutes walk away. There is also a Metro close by which we caught to get to the Vatican nice and early to try to avoid the queues! You had views of the Colosseum from the roof terrace and we thoroughly enjoyed having a beer up there at the end of a day of sightseeing! The rooms were very clean and pleasant, not gigantic but perfect for people more interested in seeing the city of Rome than a hotel room! Staff were very helpful and friendly. We would definitely stay at this hotel next time we visit Rome and we would recommend it to others. A top hotel!

This is a charming small hotel tucked away in the tangle of streets between Via Cavour and the Colosseum. It is therefore an ideal base for all the major historic attractions and Metro links at Cavour and Colosseo are a five minute walk away. There are numerous small restaurants to choose from in the immediate vicinity. We would recommend a stay there. Our only real criticism would be with the shower (hand held) annoying if you're not used to it and the showerhead would have benefited from a de-coke. Reception staff, chambermaids and breakfast waiter were very friendly and helpful.

On our confirmation, the comments from Fori Imperiali Cavalieri regarding pickup from the airport was very useful. Arranging for this service was quite easy since their website had an online concierge/receptionist. Location was quite good - - close to Colosseum, Forum, Vatican (via metropolitana). The continental breakfasts were delicious because of the variety of foods - nice selection. The only problem was the sliding petitions of the shower. It needs caulking because it leaked. The bathroom floor was very wet afterwards. The air conditioning had to be reset a couple of times, but the staff were very helpful in this and all other requests.

This was a great hotel for the money. We had 8 people, both new travelers and seasoned international veterans and all agreed, that for a true Italian hotel experience this was great! (Remember, European hotels have small showers, but in this hotel the bathrooms themselves were a good size.) It is about a block from the Coloseum but on a quiet, very safe, classically small street. Two blocks from Via Cavour for many restaurants and shops. We usually ate in the neighborhood, small friendly restaurants within 50 to 100 feet from hotel. Underground station right across from Coloseum, walk to Forum and most major sites (Pantheon, Trevi Fountain within 15 minutes). Hotel is run by a family, Cavalieri brothers and they could not do enough for you. They also own a winery so make sure you try their wine at complementary happy hour around 7:30 pm. in the breakfast room. Breakfast buffet is great with everything you would expect, cereal to meat and cheese. Also, had a roof top area where we had a few dinners of store bought cold cuts, bread, cheese and the Cavalieri wine, overlooking the backstreets and roof top gardens of a great Italian neighboorhood, classic and romantic. One great advantage of the location was that even people who had never been to Rome before, were not afraid to venture out by cab or on foot because all they had to do to get back was say "Take me to the Coloseum".

My sister and I stayed here early September. It was the first hotel we stayed in while in Italy and one of the least expensive. We found that the room was exactly what it looked like on the internet and for the price it was good value for money. The location is fantastic, right near the Colosseum and easy walking distance to two metro stations. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Rome (good continental buffet with lots of different choices). The hotel, whilst near a main road, was accessed from a small cobbled street which was extremely quiet. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

This hotel is a hidden gem, and its proximity to the coliseum adds to its appeal. The rooms are an ideal size and to a high standard and also has a spacious sized bathroom. Reception was most polite and extremely helpful and breakfast was plentiful If I had to find fault - then all I could say is that some of the surrounding buildings looked a bit shabby - but DO NOT let that put you off the hotel

great place to stay for a few days and to be able to walk to all interest places. Nice view from roofterrace..Breakfast must be better however. But staff are really nice and willing to help you with any kind of problems..by the way, just around the corner there is a great restaurant and on the other side of the mainroad there are 2 perfect restaurants for not much money. Great city Rome! Tutti Minuti!!

The hotel is situated perfectly for walking the centre of Rome. The staff are excellent particularly on reception. The level of English is great & the hotel can't do enough to ensure that you have a good stay. The only draw back for smokers is that you cannot smoke in the bar area - understandable however. Also being picky, it would of been nice to have fresh italian bread at breakfast. I would recommend this hotel without hesitation.

The airco is noisy and blows way to strong, the bathroom is smal and had some faulty bits, furthermore i like to get a suntan, but nut from the spots in the elevator, witch was making it a verry hot expirience.

Superb quiet location in central Rome near Coliseum. Very friendly service. The quiet air conditioning was a serious benefit during the hottest period in July! We will certainly return here.

Only one complaint: there was oly white sliced bread at breakfast. A selection of breads/rolls would have been better.

A clean, bright, very quiet, newly modernised hotel, with friendly and very helpful English-speaking staff. The only problem we had was in sending emails from the free Internet service - only a few arrived.

Hotel centrally situated in quiet street - a table in the room would be nice - double rooms are getting a bit small if they are used as triple or even quadruples (1 double bed and 2 convertible sofas). All in all a good place to stay.
