The hotel is in an ideal location for sightseeing - only a few minutes walk from the Colosseum, and the Roman Forum, as well as the metro system. Despite being so central it is in a very quiet side street, so there is no traffic noise to disturb one. All the hotel staff were extremely welcoming and always helpful. Breakfast was provided - a good choice from the buffet, both hot and cold. This was our first visit to Rome, and I would certainly return to the Hotel Fori Imoeriali Cavalieri, and I would recommend it to anyone looking for a mid priced value for money stay.

Superb location close to Fori, Colosseo and Via Cavour with many restaurants and food shops nearby. Very handy for many bus lines and metro although proximity to so many attractions means these may not be required. Hotel staff extremely helpful, welcoming and helpful. Lovely breakfast. Rooftop terrace ideal for an evening relax or getting a phone signal! Not cheap, but very reasonable prices for Rome! Would definitely stay there again.

This hotel is in the perfect location. Closed to Colosseo & Foro Romano without being in a nosy area. We walked everywhere from the hotel & took the Metro ( Colosseo stop) & bus which were closed by. The free breakfast buffette is excellent a variety of meats, eggs, cheese, panini, cereal, fruits. I will for sure stay here next time. The staff was helpful and always happy.

Great location near colleseo / coleseum. Found the tour guide shop right around the corner along with sidewalk cafes which made our trip to rome very easy to navigate. Hotel is a bit hard to find since entrance is behind the main street but worked well for us once we found it. Breakfast and service was excellent. Room was small with twin beds, but ours included a large patio with table and chairs but no view.

Pleasant hotel. Small and local with an excellent location close to the Forum / Palatine Hills / Metro / restaurants. We were out and about almost all the time; so the level of service was exactly what we wanted and at the right price. Only complaint would be that while the bathroom was a reasonable size, I had to open the door of the shower when lathering because the stall is too small.

Close to colosseum, very handy location. We walked to all the major sites, even Vatican museums were only 30-40 minute walk. Spacious rooms, and breakfast was good. Price was reasonable and staff were friendly. My only criticism was the bedspread was stained quite badly with who knows what and the covers on the 2 chairs in the room were filthy with age and stains. Everything else was clean. We took the bedspread off and it was taken away ....hopefully to a washing machine.

We stayed at the Cavalieri for four nights just prior to Easter, and were very happy with our choice of hotel. We chose it because of 1) the location and 2) the availability of a room which would accommodate all four of us (we have two boys aged 9 and 11). It was a tight fit, but everyone had a reasonably spacious and comfortable bed, and the bathroom coped well with almost constant activity. The location was absolutely fabulous: in a side street, so very quiet, but within minutes you could be walking up to the Colisseum or down past Trajan's forum. There are many reasonable restaurants in the area, including the Pizzareta less than 100m away, recommended in the Lonely Planet guide. The staff were lovely, particularly the breakfast attendant (breakfast was simple continental but very good, esp the coffee) and the housekeeping staff, who did very well to cope with my youngest son's 24 hour vomiting bug (needed several changes of sheets and some extra bathroom clean up. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to others: great value for money.

They were very professional and the building is secure. It was great that they had a garage to lock my bicycle in. It would be cramped if I was a heavy packer, or there was more than one person in the room. But the lack of street noise made up for the size. Comfortable beds - great place for a good nights sleep. Convenient location.

Very adequate location of the hotel for our first visit to Rome, with easy access to the main historical sites of the city. We have been very well impressed by the quality of the services provided and by the kindness of the hotel team, including their ability to comunicate well in English and French. The price is well ballanced for the serviecs provided and we expect to get back to the Fori Imperiali Cavalieri in other opportunities.

The hotel is well situated for the historic sites in Rome so was very good for sightseeing, particularly as my Mum is older. The rooms were quite small but well appointed and the air-conditioning was great as Rome in summer is very hot and humid. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. the actual street the hotel is in is rather crummy looking so if you are offended by graffiti it may not be the place for you - but Rome is just like that and it wasn't in any way threatening. Good trattoria on the corner with perfectly acceptable house wine.

Reception staff was very friendly and efficient. Public areas were very nice, clean and refurbished. Breakfast was also very nice. The location of the hotel is perfect, there was also few nice restaurants in the area. The only problem we had was the room. Originally we were given 203, it was small, smelly and the decor was extremly old. I have never seen room like this. Bathroom was also not nice and old. We changed the room after 2 nights and it was a bit better.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone who asked. While our room was not large, it was perfect for our needs. The bathroom was more spacious than I had anticipated, and both the room and the bathroom were very clean. Breakfast was excellent, with sliced meat, cheese, toast, four kinds of cereal, yogourt, and pastries. The location can not be beat--so close to the Forum and Colosseum, yet quiet at night, with lots of restaurants around for dinner. I'm not sure how it would be for children, since we didn't have ours with us, but I would highly recommend this hotel for couples of any age and for business travellers.

This is a great location, just walk down the street and you can see the colosseum. The breakfast is great and the staff were polite and accomodating. Our room had the private double layered terrace and was spacious especially by European standards. I really appreciated the great water pressure in the shower and the comfy pillows on the bed. We slept with the windows open a couple of evenings and we were not bothered by noise except for an overly enthusiastic seagull on the house behind us.

We are a couple in our 40s with 13 and 9 year old daughters. We visited Rome April 21-26, 2008 and spent 5 nights in a 4 person room on the second floor of this great hotel (has an elevator if you get tired by the end of a long day). It is located in a very quiet street (Via Frangipane) but yet only a 5 min walk from the Roman Forum, 10 min walk from the Coliseum, 10 min cab ride to the Vatican City and overall very accessible to all major sites in ancient Rome. There are numerous of restaurants within a walking distance. The hotel overall was sparkling clean. The room was spacious in European terms. 1 queen size bed and 2 separate single beds for the girls. Very nice bathroom (no bathtub), a safe, 15” TV (if you care about that when you visit Italy…). Excellent breakfast is served between 7am-10am which was very filling to us (the cappuccino was awesome!). The breakfast staff was very attentive in refilling missing items. The front desk staff was very friendly, knowledgeable and responsive. They spoke decent English and assisted us with recommendations to local restaurants, checking for opening hours, calling cabs and such.

The hotel is very well located but it's really very expensive for what you have(very small and noisy rooms, very small bathrooms,...). In other countries this hotel would be a 2 stars hotel. Superbly located hotel, just 2 blocks from the Forum in one direction and 2 blocks from the Colosseum in the other direction. On a quiet back street, so rooms are quiet (by Rome standards, anyway). Breakfast buffet was excellent - best croissants ever, lots of variety and very nice cappucino. Lovely roof top garden as well. As other reviewers have said - don't expect a lot of space per euro spent in Rome - but we had plenty of room in our family room which accomodated all 4 of us nicely. The only downside - hard, hard beds.

Top attraction of this hotel was its location. 2 Min walk from the Coliseum and the Metro, even closer to a host of Cafe's, restaurants and shops. Breakfast is fairly average but get there early if you want a full selection. Rooms were slightly less appealing than the pictures on the web site suggest but very clean and no real complaints. We stayed in Rome for 3 nights and found the hotel to be in an excellent position for sight seeing. Most of the obvious sights and attractions are walkable from here but you may wish to use the metro for the Vatican which is 2 mins away. On the whole I enjoyed the hotel. Good value at less than 150 Euros per night but expensive if advertised at more.

They even provided cork-screws and plates when we brought groceries for roof-top dining. From this hotel, we walked 10 - 15 km every day. On our previous visit we were offerred a free aperitivo in the Hotel bar each evening and took advantage of the same this visit, only to find on departure that the free service had been withdrawn. Firstly the location of this hotel is second to none - 2 minutes walk to the Colosseum and everything else only a few minutes walk away. There is also a Metro close by which we caught to get to the Vatican nice and early to try to avoid the queues! You had views of the Colosseum from the roof terrace and we thoroughly enjoyed having a beer up there at the end of a day of sightseeing! The rooms were very clean and pleasant, not gigantic but perfect for people more interested in seeing the city of Rome than a hotel room! Staff were very helpful and friendly. This is a charming small hotel tucked away in the tangle of streets between Via Cavour and the Colosseum. It is therefore an ideal base for all the major historic attractions and Metro links at Cavour and Colosseo are a five minute walk away. There are numerous small restaurants to choose from in the immediate vicinity. We would recommend a stay there. Our only real criticism would be with the shower (hand held) annoying if you're not used to it and the showerhead would have benefited from a de-coke. Reception staff, chambermaids and breakfast waiter were very friendly and helpful.

On our confirmation, the comments from Fori Imperiali Cavalieri regarding pickup from the airport was very useful. Arranging for this service was quite easy since their website had an online concierge/receptionist. Location was quite good - - close to Colosseum, Forum, Vatican (via metropolitana). The continental breakfasts were delicious because of the variety of foods - nice selection. The only problem was the sliding petitions of the shower. It needs caulking because it leaked. The bathroom floor was very wet afterwards. The air conditioning had to be reset a couple of times, but the staff were very helpful in this and all other requests.

This was a great hotel for the money. We had 8 people, both new travelers and seasoned international veterans and all agreed, that for a true Italian hotel experience this was great! (Remember, European hotels have small showers, but in this hotel the bathrooms themselves were a good size.) It is about a block from the Coloseum but on a quiet, very safe, classically small street. Two blocks from Via Cavour for many restaurants and shops. We usually ate in the neighborhood, small friendly restaurants within 50 to 100 feet from hotel. Underground station right across from Coloseum, walk to Forum and most major sites (Pantheon, Trevi Fountain within 15 minutes). Hotel is run by a family, Cavalieri brothers and they could not do enough for you. They also own a winery so make sure you try their wine at complementary happy hour around 7:30 pm. in the breakfast room. Breakfast buffet is great with everything you would expect, cereal to meat and cheese. Also, had a roof top area where we had a few dinners of store bought cold cuts, bread, cheese and the Cavalieri wine, overlooking the backstreets and roof top gardens of a great Italian neighboorhood, classic and romantic. One great advantage of the location was that even people who had never been to Rome before, were not afraid to venture out by cab or on foot because all they had to do to get back was say "Take me to the Coloseum".

The location was excellent. On a small side street so it was quiet but still close to the main sites except the Vatican. Hotel was clean and staff was helpful. They let us store our luggage after we checked out while we went siteseeing. They even fixed us free coffee while we waited for our taxi. Room was clean and spacious for Europe and you can't beat the price. Will for sure stay there again on our next trip to Rome

My sister and I stayed here early September. It was the first hotel we stayed in while in Italy and one of the least expensive. We found that the room was exactly what it looked like on the internet and for the price it was good value for money. The location is fantastic, right near the Colosseum and easy walking distance to two metro stations. The breakfast was one of the best we had in Rome (good continental buffet with lots of different choices). The hotel, whilst near a main road, was accessed from a small cobbled street which was extremely quiet. I'd definitely stay here again and would recommend it.

The hotel was actually ver close to the Colosseo. It was in a more residential area so it was quiet and the local restarants were good. The hotel staff was excellent and their communication was great. They even recommended a small restarant close by that was excellent. I would definitely recommend this hotel as many people that we spoke to during our trip did not have near the good experience that we did.

Amazing location, very clean, friendly, quiet, modern hotel in the oldest part of the city. I would stay there again. If you are taking a taxi from Termini, it should cost about 8 euro(we were charged 24 euro, watch out for rip-offs).

Room was small and space just taken up with a huge bed. The bathroom was like a cupboard with a sliding door - doesn't do much for your privacy! Ideal location for sight seeing though and nice and quiet being slightly tucked away.

The hotel has a wonderful location- within easy walking distance of the Coleseum and the metro station. There is a nice restaurant just around the corner. Our room was large, very clean, with updated bathroom facilites. The one night that we stayed there was very quiet. The staff was helpful and pleasant. The breakfast was good enough and the capucino was excellent! We would definitely stay in this hotel again. For Rome, it offers good value for the money.

Nice hotel, good location near Coliseum/Ancient Rome. A little hard to find, map on their website points to wrong place. Helpful staff, let us leave our bags after we'd checked out. Room was quiet, air con a little noisy. Room not massive but beds comfortable. Excellent buffet breakfast included. A bit dear(140 Euro for room) but Rome is expensive.

Excellant stay. Location is fantastic, right on the doorstep of the Forum and Colisseum. The single rooms are quite small but this is reflected in the price (very reasonable compared to similarly located hotels). The staff were very helpful and professional. Perfect if you want to be close to the historic sights.

This was a great location for sightseeing in Rome and only two subway stops from the train station. We found the hotel to be very good but very expensive for the size of room. We were a family group of 4 cramped into a small room, but I think this is typical of Rome. We enjoyed the roof top terrace, and the breakfast was better than most in Italy.

Four us shared a large double room with a firm sofa bed added- very comfortable. We had a large roof terrace just for us which was a real suntrap.Excellent bathroom and air-con included. The breakfast buffet was huge by Italian standards! The helpful staff were always ready to make us decent coffee during the evening. The locality was excellent for us- just a couple of minutes from a metro station yet in a picturesque and quiet backstreet across the road from The Colosseum and The Forum. There were several restaurants within a couple of minutes north. We ended up paying about E65 per night per head- a bargain we all felt

Ideal location to colloseum and forum and metro. when you add breakfast for 5 into the equation room was quite reasonabl.Neat little restaurant Cleto near by.

The hotel was clean, warm, comfortable and very central. Only problem was I had booked a twin room and it was a double. This meant my friend and I had to share the large bed for one night as we didn't arrive till late. However, they were very sorry and couldn't do enough to help, even offering us a glass of wine and by the time we had finished breakfast the next day the bed had been split and twin beds made up.

The location, for quick access to the classical area of Rome, is perfect. You are in the Roman Forum within 5 mins of leaving the hotel. It is just far enough away from the main roads to be very quiet, even on the roof terrace - an excellent area to catch up on some peaceful reading after a long day's exploring. The staff, from the reception, to the cleaners and the breakfast servers are the most pleasant and polite my wife and I have ever experienced. I recommend this hotel to any traveller and look forward to many more visits.

This hotel is a real gem. The location is superb; just a stone's throw from the Forum and Coluseum. The staff are welcoming and the regstration and check-out procedures were very friendly and efficient. We had a quadruple room for the family which was spacious, spotlessly clean and had an efficient and quiet air conditioning which was essential in mid-July. Also a mini-bar which was useful for storing cold water etc. It was also excellent value for money. Breakfast is included altough you do need a sweet tooth! We will definitely use this hotel on any return visits and would unreservedly recommend ths to others.

Enjoyed our stay. Good location, a short walk to "everything". Clean and competent. Our vacation coincided with "escrow closing" on a house in California and the staff went out of their way, at 1am one night, to help us faxing and communicating with the bank and the realtor back in the US.
