Good hotel in a perfect location: 15min walk to main station (Termini), about 25min to Fontana di Trevi. Continental breakfast buffet. Several restaurants and a greengrocer's shop aroud. But noisy street (restaurants, traffic, waste collection in the middle of the night). Try to get a room to the yard. Overall I recommend this hotel.

Okay, so I liked Hotel Flavia. It was a nice, clean hotel in centro storico of Rome. The beds were comfortable (not rock hard) and overall the facilities good. I will likely return to Hotel Flavia in the future. That being said, for those of you who use this feedback to make decisions on where to stay, two things should be said: 1. Breakfast was probably the sparcest I've ever seen in Europe. They had a selection of flaky rolls, cold cheese & proscuito, and some yogurt. No boiled eggs, no fizzy water, and the fresh fruit was not ripe. If breakfast isn't a big deal for you, then it should not be a problem, but it is something to note. 2. If you're a light sensitive sleeper (as I am) you should know that there were no black out curtains, at least not in our room. I was surprised at this since almost every hotel I've been to in Europe has good black out curtains. Anyhow, as I said though, good price to quality, heart of the historical centre, clean rooms, friendly staff.

Room was clean and well organized, but very small. Actually about the same size as the room we had on the curise ship (not a suite, just and interior cabin on deck 4). Staff at the desk and for breadfast were efficient and friendly. Hotel locaton was as advertised and worked well for our travel in and around Rome.

Hotel Flavia is a nice hotel with a friendly and helpful staff. Our room was clean and comfortable but without window. Next time we will book an exterior room. Breakfast was ok. We really appreciated the air conditioning in the room as it was very hot in Rome during our stay. There were also nice restaurants nearby and small shops where you could by water, fruit, cheese etc. We enjoyed staying at this hotel and can redommend it to our friends.

This hotel has a very nice localisation in Rome. Not far from the principal centers of attractions. You can cross the town by feet. Depending on which site of the hotel your room is, you can see the road or the inner courtyard. Not very plaisant. Otherwise, it's a nice hotel for a very nice price.

I needed a room for a couple of night in a hotel near my new office...well, with Hotel Flavia i can say that i've been lucky. I travel often alone so i ask just for a single room, as this time. Hotels ofetn provide me a small room with a small bed. Not here. The room was not so big but the bed was a double bad. The wc was big and Hotel Flavia is a Sky hotel...good breakfast...So what i could ask more?

Flavia is a good value for a simple and very clean room located 20 minutes walking distance from most of Rome's sites in the historical district. The front desk is not that helpful and the free internet access was never really available. But the breakfast was great and I think it's a good value given the high hotel prices in Rome.

We stayed only one day in a long itinerary. The taxi driver brought us there without delay. Hotel Flavia is 10mins walk from Termini station and about 30mins from Colliseum/Forum and consequently more reasonably priced than hotels nearer the historic centre. The hotel reception is clean and bright, though the photos make it look bigger than it is. We stayed in a triple room on the first floor (the one in the photos on the website). It was clean and spacious even with the pull out bed out. I was sleeping on the pull out bed and it was very comfortable; a bit narrow but the mattress was fine. There was enough hanging and storage space for 3 adults. The bathroom is massive, probably the largest bathroom I've ever been in. The basin was cracked but apart from that it was fine, cleaned regularly and towels changed every day. We'd requested a room at the back so we wouldnt get the traffic noise, but this meant our room looked out onto the courtyard and there was quite a bit of noise from the other buildings (barking dog) and the marble floors increase the noise within the hotel. I'd recommend ear plugs. Breakfast was a buffet with crusty bread, meat, cheese, yoghurt and very nice pastries. You could go up as many times as you liked. Overall I'd recommend the Flavia as long as you don't mind walking a bit further to get everywhere.

The quality of the breakfast could be improved a bit, in my opinion. The room's window was on a rather ugly-looking internal courtyard, but on the other hand it was very quiet, and anyway it was so hot outside that we kept the window closed and the air conditioning on. The room was recently refurbished, and very clean. In general, we enjoyed staying in this hotel, and the price/quality relationship was very good, if compared with other similar hotels in Rome where I have been in the past.

I stayed in Rome for 5days. Hotel Flavia is a decent and very clean place to stay in. If you are looking for something glamorous, Flavia is not the hotel for you. But if you want a place near the historic centre, a few minutes walk from the nearest metro station (which by the way is probably the filthiest in Europe)and really clean, then the choice of Flavia is probably one of the best (compared to the cost). The sole drawback is that the room is small. However, bathroom is huge.

Hotel Flavia is nice but it has a big problem with noise... You can hear virtually anything people say in the surrounding rooms. The other negative side was that in my room warm water required several minutes to come, and in the shower a support for shampoo and soap was missing. The rest was good: breakfast simple but good and a great price (at least in this season)

Very nice hotel for the price. Shower a bit on the small side, with no place to put shampoo, soap, etc. AC worked very well, and there was virtually no noise from outside. The location is very good, with many tourist sites and the Termini station within easy walking distance. Its location in relation to attractions also made it reasonable for taking taxis when too tired to walk any further. An unexpected bonus was the restaurant immediately outside the hotel door, La Pentolaccia. Excellent food and service at a reasonable price. And a small market adjacent to the restaurant was handy for picking up fruit, etc. before heading out for a day of sight-seeing. Although the desk staff was not overly friendly, they were polite and answered all questions. Breakfast was also much better than we experienced in other hotels. Fresh pastries, cheese and prosciutto and made to order coffee. I'm not sure if noted in the hotel description, but the hotel has an elevator and rooms have hair dryers. I would not hesitate to stay here again and feel comfortable recommending this hotel.

When we arrived on the street, there was another hotel named Flavia something... Good thing it wasn't our Flavia!! It was nothing like the pictures!!! But the real Flavia was a great place. A few minutes away from the Termini. very clause to subway stations and buses, we were able to go anywhere we wanted very easily. There was also a frutta e verdure shop just a few doors aways where we bought our breakfast every morning! A few good restaurents a couple steps away also, very convenient for dinners when you're tired from a long day of walk! We would recommend this hotel without hesitation! Only thing is the towels... They were so thin, we're not used to this kind of shower towels here in Canada!! But as you can see, nothing much negative to say...! Enjoy!

We found this hotel an excellent stay. The location was convenient relative to the bus and the termini. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Staff were generally very helpful and the breakfasts were excellent. There were several excellent restaurants in the vicinity and all were reasonably priced. A taxi strike on the morning we were leaving was a major problem, but the staff were very helpful and one member walked with us to get us onto the correct bus. We would definitely use this accomodation again.

We were unfortunate to be staying when they were doing building work so quietness of the rooms was spoiled. Without it the place would be fine. Also we arrived very late and were subsequently woken at 5am to give our passports as he forgot to get them. Apart from a false start, the main manager was good. We had a problem with the shower and he fixed it immediately which was great. Rooms are quite good and clean. Breakfast was standard for Western Europe. Overall would recommend the place but not until the building work is done. It's a good location but not in the heart but close to most buses which will take you to all the tourist spots. Price was pretty high but probably reasonable for Rome.

The Hotel Flavia was a welcome oasis after a long flight delay imposed by striking Italian Air Traffic controllers. The gentleman at check-in was extremely friendly and helpful, and provided an excellent restaurant recommendation. Subsequent front desk staff were less friendly, but I don't think they were as comfortable speaking English as the first was. The hotel room was sparkling clean, and the furnishings quite nice. My only complaint would be from the early morning construction work occurring during our stay (a power saw at 7-am was our alarm clock). Otherwise, a fabulous place to stay.

Location was in a very quiet, safe area (important!), and less than 10 minute walk to Termi and Metro. Lots of restaurants in the area. A little out of the way from 'attractions', but we used the Metro a lot, and walked a lot, so it didn't bother us at all. Staff seemed a little new so weren't as helpful as other hotels we stayed in, but I think that was caused more by newness than 'not wanting to'. Room was very basic but clean, and bathroom seemed new, which was nice. Breakfast room was nice, food choice for breakfast was just average as compared to others. Overall, a nice stay.

Hotel Flavia is very, very near to many famous things of Roma. You can take a walk and see Fontana di Trevi, Piazza Spania, Via Condotti,Termini station.... When we check in the welcome was not very friendly and the man behind the desk said nearly nothing. But from Venere site i knew everything so i had no problem! But during the two days we communicated more and Alexander from the night reception is a very nice and lovely man. And the breakfast was absolutely fabulous!!! We expected not much, 'cause italian breakfasts are most very poor (just cappuchino and croissant). But Hotel Flavia is different. It was a little buffet with cheese, salami, fresh fruits, fresh baguettes, juices,... Everything was very good! Also the coffee! Room was cleaned in the morning and we also got fresh towels! I can highly recommend this hotel for travellers who want to stay in the center, and don't have much money. It's not the Hilton Plaza but for sleeping and breakfast it was really good enough!

Beautiful, spacious room and modern bathroom. Very clean. The buffet breakfasts were very good compared to other hotels we stayed at in Italy. About a 10 minute walk from Termini train station so we were able to avoid the long queue for a taxi. 5 minute walk to Repubblica Metro station (but don't use metro line with heavy luggage - you will be climbing up and down stairs everywhere). Some nice restaurants very close to the hotel. The only hiccup was that the hot water system broke down on the afternoon of our arrival. We had to wait till about 10.00pm to have a hot shower after a long day of travelling. Also, the phone in our room wasn't working but they allowed us to use the reception phone at no extra cost. We would stay here again.

We booked this hotel for it's location and based on other reviews. The property was in a decent area, clean rooms, good breakfast and the pictures matched the actual property. Internet access wasn't always easy, but it was on property - it was a matter of desk personnel being in the mood to turn off the race long enough to allow you to do what you needed to do from 5,500 miles away. Most of the desk staff was professional and accommodating - every company has it's bad apple. Overal, a 9 out of 10. I'd gladly do it again.

We chose the Flavia because of comments previously left on this site and found that our own good experience mirrored that of those leaving comment We felt safe generally around the parts of Rome we visited day or night and this was especially so of the area surrounding the hotel. We appreciated the friendly but inobtrusive nature of the hotel and the fact that we could walk to most of the usual visitor attractions. St Peter's was 35minutes walk away. I thought the hotel was good value and we especially liked the spacious bathroom. Our room was to the rear of the hotel and was quiet but the surrounding streets seemed quiet so other rooms may well be OK in this regard. Temini station is 10 minutes walk from the hotel and as we were arriving late in the day this was also an attraction to us.

We had an excellent stay at Flavia. The staff were friendly and helpful and all spoke english, which was a great help to us. So it wasn't cheap, but for Rome standard and quality, we found it a good price. The location was great, in a good area, with nice tratorias, etc close by. We walked to most attraction. It's about 10 minutes walk to termini. If we were ever back in Rome (who knows, we threw a coin in the Trevi fountain) we would certainly stay there.

Myself and my daughter found the hotel very satisfactory in every way. Although the reception staff were not friendly, they were helpful if asked for information. It's location was perfect, we walked to almost evertwhere from there, Termini, Barberini Square, Trevi fountain, Spanish Steps. Also, we found two very good restaurants on the same street. The only bad point was that our room, in the front of the hotel, could be quite noisy from around 9.30 till midnight - no problem if you were a heavy sleeper - but not good for young children.

Good location, close proximity to public transport. Rooms and people were nice. I was first put into the older section but moved because the door wouldn't open. Then was moved to what looks like a refurbished section. The room was much nicer. I was also upgraded to a double room because of this minor issue(was travelling on my own). The price was good, the service was ok, breakfast was ok, and the rooms were quiet. The location was ok, less than a 10 minute walk to a train terminal which was ok. It was also walking distance to most of the main attractions. There were busses but I didn't use them. I felt safe in the area. The view wasn't nice but that didn't matter. Overall I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and recommend it. But I would recommend trying to get a room in the refurbished section.

Quite happy with the room and included breakfast for the price. Room was recently renovated (though the main overhead light was not installed yet; just wires hanging out). Most clerks spoke English adequately. They advertise the ability to check email/internet, though it's a laptop behind the counter, and they get a little fussy if you spend too long on it.

Great location, very close to Termini and within walking distance of all the major sites. Hotel is recently renovated, so everything is relatively new. The twin room we had wasn't huge, but perfectly adequate. The bathroom is generous in size. Breakfast is the usual affair, coffee appalling. We checked out early in the morning, and they forgot to give us our passports back (and we forgot to ask) but we were 10 minutes down the road when the manager came running behind us with them, which was impressive! We stayed a week in Rome, and were very pleased with the Flavia; would definitely go back.

The staff was very friendly and willing to offer assistance when we asked. We were there for only one day, but I would stay here again. The location is close enough to walk from the train station, but a little better directions from there would help.

I had a great stay at the Flavia. I stayed in two different rooms and both were great. The first room had a broken lock on the window, but once I told the gentlemen at the front desk about it, he was very helpful with changing my room. The rooms were very clean as well. Everyone on staff was helpful with directions, etc. The neighborhood was also excellent. There are several restaurants on the block and the hotel is within walking distance to so many sites and the metro as well. When I return to Rome, I would gladly return to the Flavia.

My Fiance and I Stayed at Flavia over New Years 2005/2006. Our first impressions were great, a cosy reception room and friendly staff, we were really impressed when we got to our room. It was practically brand new, good heating and new furnishings. It was small but having a larger bathroom helped. . The breakfast was quite generous too with plenty of pastries and fruit, cereal to choose. Overall we were really impressed with the quality of service we received. It's locale to the attractions is convenient too, 7 minutes walk to local shopping and about 15 minutes walk to the Trevi Fountain. very convenient. We will stay here again and we highly recommend Flavia.

The cleanliness of this hotel was excellent, and location great. We were able to walk to all of the major sights, especially the Spanish Steps and Trevi fountain (Colloseum a bit further). The area was quiet enough to not feel in the midst of tourist Rome. Breakfast was basic. Would definitely stay again if in Rome, mainly for the spotlessness and location.

Flavia Hotel was adequate - small but clean. Shower was big enough for my big size! Breakfast was excellent: fresh and tastey. English at the desk was minimal but adequate. My wake-up call never happened, and we almost missed our train to the airport. We would stay there again.

Most reviews refer to a newly renovated hotel. Unfortunately a 3 nights and an additional one night stay for a family of 4 in 2 rooms was located in the non-renovated wing (exception is one room for the last night, that is how we found out that the other rooms we had were not renovated). Strong sewage kind smell in the bathrooms was unpleasant although the bathrooms looked clean. For the revisit on our last night, despite of a triple confirmation: 1/ on-line reservation, 2/ e-mail to hotel, 3/ personal at the departure after the first stay, did not seem to be enough to secure the requested and promised 2 double twin rooms. One of the rooms had one bed and the employees could not help to provide the requested 2 twin bed configuration. After extensive reasoning at checkout, a 25% discount was granted, but the night was spoiled for us. The other room was separated from an adjacent one by a very thin door. Neighbors started to watch TV at high volume at midnight. Kind request to turn the volume down was not granted. It was very unpleasant but not the hotel’s fault. Additionally the hotel is immersed in a residential section of the building, many windows are facing an inner yard and due to normal every day life, the place can be very noisy even late night. One scary item: no fire escape is obvious; a tiny, 2 person elevator commutes between reception area and floor with rooms. Breakfast was outstanding, kitchen and cleaning stuff was very polite and competent.

Besides being ripped off by a taxi-driver 30 euros to drive us less than 1 km from the train station, (if you walk its about 500m). This wasn't clear from the map on this site. This hotel was better than I expected. Everything was brand-new, shiny clean, and well maintained. Even breakfast was better than the typical italian fare. I will definitely stay here again.

My husband and I had a very nice stay at Flavia. It is walking distance from the Termini station in a nice, what seems like area consisting of mainly offices. Our room was nice and spacious with air conditioning which is much needed. The breakfast is continental not great but good enough. This hotel was much better than some of the others of the same category that we have stayed in Europe. I would definitely recommend this hotel as it is very good value for the price.

Excellent location, clean and well-facilitized room, but what I would recommend this cosy, small hotel is its warmth and heartiness of thier servise. It was not the way that some business used hotels do, but surly you could feel "you arrived at Roma" with its family-like atmosphire and the friendly voice to you "ciao!". The breakfast menus and beautiful kichen were the best in my travel at this time. Grazie molto per sua servizio, e mi tolnero.

Overall this was a value for money hotel. It was clean and comfortable and the breakfast was more than adequate. Staff were polite and courteous. Particularly welcoming and helpful was the gentleman on the desk who greeted us on our arrival. I would have no hesitation in staying here on any future visits. The same cannot be said about the restaurant of the same name. Maybe there is no connection but, in case there is, I feel it necessary to point out that our party of 5 had a most disgusting meal there. We were not only blatantly overcharged but when we questioned this, our query was shrugged off and treated with indifference.
