Very basic hotel but did the trick. We were prepared for pretty basic. Awful smell in the bathroom but didn't bother us too much, I guess you get that in old cities. Good area to stay in but I think next time I'd stay a little closer to Piazza Navona area in Rome.

We were in Rome for 4 nights. The front desk staff was very good. They assisted us with directions and taxi reservations, and were always ready to assist. The breakfast staff was not as welcoming, we never felt welcome by them as we did with staff from other hotels during the trip. They acted like our being there was a real inconvinice, and don't even think of asking for a second cup of coffee! The hotel is on a very noisy street. So, if you want to sleep in late (past 7am) stay somewhere else. The location is very good to see sights. Most are walkable.

Not fancy, but very clean and convenient. Walls are thin as it is an old building, so you can hear toilets flushing in the next room. Has A/C unit and heating. Bus stop right outside the hotel. Walking distance to most sites. Great coffee shop next door, but the hotel does an excellent cappucino at breakfast! Try the restaurant Dodo, which is a short walk. Wonderful cannelloni and lemon cake!

The location of Hotel Fiori is excellent: Right in the middle of Rome, on Quirinal Hill. In front of the hotel there were bus stops - and you could easily walk to Piazza Venezia, the Corso or the Trevi Fountain. The room was small, but efficient. I would come back.

They charged the first night on my credit card before my arrival, which was not what Venere stated. They could not fix this without a manager and there was no manager available. My room had no air conditioning - uncomfortably warm, even in May. Breakfast was not worth going to. Our room did not look like the pictures on Venere -much older & worn. Halls were pitch dark unless you could find the switch by feel. On a positive note, the location was excellent - right by bus stops. I would stay in this area again, but not this hotel.

Ottimo albergo!!

Basic, but nice hotel in the center (that was our focus). Clean & "in-shape", but nothing fancy. Breakfast was "Italian-style", so nothing for Nordic people! Rooms were noisy, but that's what you get in the center of a latin country's capital! Service was kind of not-so-professional, though okay.

When my wife and I arrived, the en-suite room we had booked was not available. We were put into a tiny room without a bathroom but with a shower and sink inside the room. As we arrived at 11pm, there was not much we could do about it. We were moved to an acceptable room for the 2nd and 3rd nights. Overall the hotel was OK. it is fairly central, with a good location for those wishing to walk everywhere, being between the Collosium and the Town Centre.

The hotel was in an excellent location in Rome. We had no problem walking to most of the hitorical sites.Although the hotel was in an old building (as most things are in Rome), they have decorated the rooms quite nicely and we had more than enough room for 3 adults. The continental breakfast was more than adequate along with freshly brewed cappuccino/coffee/tea. The only negative comments would be the darkness of the room/hallway and the traffic noise from the road facing the hotel.

Stayed two nights in quad room. It was a excellent location (2Euro bus to Vatican right outside the hotel). Walking in 5 minutes to Trivi fountain. Noise from traffic the only problem, even with well sealing windows. Would stay again unless less noisey hotel found with such a good location

This is not a fancy hotel, but it is a good 2 star hotel. Small rooms but very clean and private bathrooms, that is after all the most important. Location is very good, 15 min walk to the most impotant sights as the Colosseum, Spanish steps, Fontana di Trevi, Panthonen and more. Hotel Fiori is very centralled located but the rooms are still pretty quiet. We will absolutely recomend this hotel, and will probably use this hotel next time we vist Rome.

We stayed 6 nights. Great location to see all the sights. Bus stop right outside door. Room was clean, comfortable, not always quiet since it is on a major street, but we slept well. We walked everywhere and were able to return to hotel easily. Friendly staff, helpful though some didn't speak much english. One internet port available for a fee, but demand wasn't high. Reasonably good breakfast. Small elevator was OK. All-in-all worked well for us.

Good, cheap hotel by Rome standards. Very noisy traffic but added to atmousphere, could close windows and blinds and most traffic noise disappeared. Continental Breakfast as expected (quite good), did not see much of staff except to collect and leave keys. Good situation for lots of sites. Room cleaned and towels were changed every day.

Total, "Fiori" is comfortable hotel for these price and location. We was satisfied. Some criticism: Quad room isn't very spacious - it's basic double room without bed-side tables. Air condition is free of charge, but all buttons of remote control are deleted and I couldn't regulate the fan's power. The power of AC is very low. Indian-native receptionman can't use a credit card :( There is not very expensive shop with cold beverages near the hotel, in the corner of via Nazionale and via 4 Novembre - you will needn't in mini-bar :)

This is a great hotel for a short break. The staff where lovely and very helpful. The room was very nicely decorated, comfortable and clean. The shower was great! The location is excellent. We were literally a five minute walk from Colleseum, ten mins from Trevi fountain and 25 from the Vatican. Everything was within walking distance. The only thing I would say is if you are someone that like to sleep with window open and are facing out onto Via Nazionale then bring earplugs....the traffic on that street just never stops. All in all a very pleasant stay.

Me and my wife stayed for a long weekend in beginning of february and it was all that we had expected. The location of the hotel was very central and near all the most important historical attractions. Unfortunately it was also very noisy because of the traffic on the street outside. Earplugs is advisable to wear at night. Although the noise you can never be disapointed of Rome, the historical center of Europe. The weekend was great!

Per the previous comments we read on the website before we booked it is indeed located on a very noisy street. Our room was located at the corner of the building and had a wonderful view of the Fiori gardens across the street. It helped me feel immersed into Rome. If dead quiet is what you're after, look elsewhere. The bed was quite firm and we slept well. Please note that the luggage room they advertise is actually the hallway in front of the reception desk. The night clerk was very helpful in arranging a car to take us to the airport in the wee hours of the morning

This hotel is in a great location; all major sites are in walking distance and the red tour buses stop right outside the door (my boyfriend thought this was great!) The rooms are clean and fairly modern and I felt safe in this area of town. It is fairly noisy but so would most places in the center of Rome!

We found this to be a very good price for a hotel in rome. it is within walking distance to all the major sites. the room was clean and everything we had expected. When arriving at the station be sure to take the bus or taxi. you can walk but the side walks are alittle rough for luggange. We had a very good price (70 eu) for the room quality and the area we stayed in. i would definitly stay here again.

This was our second trip to Rome and our third different hotel. This hotel was the best with regards to overall location/price/facility quality. The hotel is on Via Nazionale, which is a very busy road, so there was some significant road noise. Because it was February and the windows and shutters were closed, this didn't necessarily impede our ability to sleep, but I would imagine that during the summer months it would be rough. On the other hand, the fact that it's on Nazionale was nice: it was very easy to find and not an unbearably long walk from the train station, Termini; it was convenient to most of Rome's sites, though I'll admit we tend to walk a lot more than many people might be prone to do and, therefore, the distances for us might not seem as significant; there are lots of different types of shops (touristy, grocery, clothing, book, etc.) on Nazionale, making finding almost any item an easier task. Overall, the service here was a little more abrupt than we had seen in Venice or Florence, but it wasn't "bad". If you're worried about being able to communicate, the English of most of the employees wasn't great, but you could get by. Our room and bathroom were clean and efficient. There's really nothing spectacular to write about, just that it was sufficient for a hotel stay in a city that offers more than enough to keep you busy and away from your hotel for most of the day. The front desk is also able to reserve taxis for transport to the airport. Since we had to be at the airport by 6AM, this was a selling point for us. The taxi service they called was prompt (early, actually), reasonably priced (for a half hour private taxi ride at 5:20AM!) and courteous. The only complaint that I might have is that the hotel, in general (not necessarily our room), smelled of cigarette smoke. When we return to Rome, I would definitely consider staying in Hotel Fiori, though I would also research other options...

The hotel was very nice and the location was ideal. The only bad thing was our room was at the front of the building and its on a very busy road with a bus stop right outside (which was handy when we got the bus to the vatican) but it was a bit noisy at night. Overall it was good value for money & would recommend to friends!

When we arrived we were informed that the hot water heater was broken and we would have to wait three days for hot water...when we asked to be compensated in some way, the hotel manager was rude and *swore* at us! The location and pricing were great! The rooms are small, but that is expected. We had a big problem with air conditioning in which the staff members gave us different answers. The night manager told us that it was broken in our room and would be fixed in the morning. The day manager said that we would have to pay an extra 10 Euros per day for air conditioning and that it would require a new room. Then the night manager said that we did not have to pay more money, but that we would have to get a new room. (We were told when we arrived that we did not pay for an air conditioned room, and they put us in one with a broken a/c on purpose.) So, for half of our stay, we did not have air conditioning and had to sleep with the window open, and Rome is LOUD! After we got the a/c, though, it was great. Their windows are extremely quiet when closed. And, they did not make us pay extra for the air conditioning when we checked out. Overall, I would stay there again, because the location was perfect. However, I would definitely have more direct contact with the hotel regarding the type of room requested.

Very close to ancient city which was our first sightseeing stop and pretty central to most other sights. We took a taxi to the Vatican ($13 Euros) so we could try and beat the crowds early in the morning. You have to look a few blocks off in all directions for restaurants but the room was very nice and clean as well as the bathroom. The air conditioning was excellent but you have to pay for it and ask for the remote control from the front desk to work it. It was a little noisy at night as we were right on Via Nazionale which is busy but the triple glazed windows cut out most of it. The bed was pretty comfortable (by Italian standards) and the breakfast was good. The staff were very helpful and friendly and arranged for a (very nice) car to take us to the airport for 45 Euros (which as I understand it is almost half price what a taxi would charge). When we arrived It was a short taxi ride to get there from the train station but could be walked if you don't have much baggage. I would recommend this hotel and would stay there again.

Assim, o problema fica infinitamente reduzido. O café da manhã é suficiente e as atendentes bastante simpáticas. Recomendo o hotel.

The room was VERY small but it didn't really matter since all we did was sleep there. The street outside was noisy but with the window closed at night, it was quiet. The one thing that really bothered me about our stay was the service. Everyone at the front desk was an absolute jerk. They were all extremely rude, I hated the thought of coming into the building because I knew I would have to run into them. Except for the rudeness, everything else was fine, good breakfast, clean bathrooms (althoug very small shower).

Cons- management refused to give us the rooms we reserved on venere.com. we were supposed to have 2 rooms for 4 people, but they ended up giving us 1 at the same price. the manager also had the nerve to call us "cheap" for arguing with him about the room situation. it was a horrible experience dealing with the management, they are very uncooperative and rude! the hotel itself, however, is very quaint and in an excellent location in rome. it is right next to a nice shopping district on via nazionale. there is also a bus stop right in front of the hotel where you can hop on several different lines. and we can't complain about the free breakfast consisting of a croissant and a roll which came with a pate and cheese spread. cappuccinos were good, as well as the tang orange juice. the sausages however were questionable. overall, it was a decent stay. keep in mind that "double single room" actually means a single room for 1 person only at the fiori.

The location could not have been better! Many sites are reachable by walking. We traveled with two children: 13 and 16 years old. Because via nationale is a main street it was noisy, as expected. Simply very unfriendly. When we arrived at the desk the attendant kept us waiting for 5 minutes without even nodding to acknowldege our existance. The staff bickered openly about our being late for breakfast when another staff member allowed us to have a cup of coffee standing. Yes, we were late for breakfast. But yes it was $150+ per night. Hotel and room was everything said to be in the listing. Very clean, as quiet as expected on a busy Roman street, with windows closed there is no problem, nothing unusual just medium traffic. Night deskman (an older gentleman) was very welcoming and helpful. Breakfast staff was rude (BUT it happened to be raining that morning and I was told by a cab driver that all Romans are in terrible moods when it rains, so no hard feelings). Morning deskman arranged, for 40 Euro, a private Mercedes to the airport, very, very nice. Pricey in dollars, but Rome is not cheap to stay in. Location was excellent for the price. The hotel is within walking distance, with light luggage, or a short and cheap taxi ride, from main train station. Outside is a bus that goes directly to the Vatican. 5 Euro will get you to most major sites by taxi around the hotel. Beautiful and peaceful view of a raised city park direct from the second floor windows of the hotel. Shower was clean, no problems with water, the bed was fine and the T.V. had CNN. Fine choice.

I do not recommend this hotel. the room was small and not clean--the carpet was old and dirty. 90euros per night is expensive considering what you are getting especially with the weak u.s. dollar. the location was good, however. it's closed to all the sights and the train station, it's also in a good neighborhood. i would not lodge there again.

The location of the property is good. But there are a few drawbacks. First, the lift to the hotel is congested and gives a weird impression. Secondly, the noise from traffic is extremely loud till very late. I had to open the windows because it was extremely hot in the room. Thirdly, you have to pay extra for Air Conditioning per night. Fourthly, the staff are not particularly friendly or welcoming. The prices are good compared to the fact that you are in a very good location in Rome. But I look like to see how much are the bigger hotels in the area, if they are only 20-30% more pricy then I would surely go for them and their standard would be quite higher.

Noise and cleanliness let this hotel down. We stayed in room 35 (much, much smaller than the rooms shown on the website by the way), which is on the first floor overlooking Via Nazionale. We found the noise from the street very intrusive, despite the double-glazed windows. In terms of cleanliness, although the hotel looked clean on the whole, our shower was full of mildew, and we found somebody elses used underpants poking out from under the bed in our room. The other irritation we found was that the only available electrical socket in the room is in the bathroom, and only works if the bathroom light is on, which in turn starts up the very noisy extractor fan, so we found it difficult to recharge camera and phones. On the upside though, the staff were lovely, the breakfasts were good and the location is also good. On the whole, although I know hotels in Rome are expensive, I didn't think that Fiori was good value for money.

Hotel Fiori was the first hotel at which we stayed in Italy. It was delightful. The staff were very friendly and thankfully spoke English very well, since our Italian is miserable. We had a double room and triple room. The triple had a beautiful view of Via Nazionale. The double was on the back side and very quiet. Both rooms were lovely. The breakfast was simple but in a lovely room with wonderful made-to-order cappuccino. We were thrilled with our stay at Hotel Fiori.

We stayed in a room with private shower facility. The room and the shower were very clean. The only downside was noise from the street, as the hotel is in a busy street. The elevator looked ancient, and it didn't function when we arrived and also departed. So, it was quite troublesome to drag our luggages up and down. To use airconditioner in the room costs 5 Euro/day. It would be nicer if the airconditioner is free of charge.

We were looking for a central, relatively cheap base camp for exploring Rome. The room was nice, and not too far from a number of sights, though also not close to the subway. Traffic noise in the morning was pretty loud, but not too bad at night. All in all, a nice, simple place to stay, and fairly cheap by Rome prices.

The Hotel Fiori is very well located (10 minutes walk to Collosseum, 10 minutes to Fontana di Trevi). The people are nice, the breakfast (even for Germans ;-) very good. The rooms are clean, big enough and have air condition (the traffic there is extreme and sleeping with an open window nearly impossible). The price was ok for Rome in August. A spontaneous booking for my back-trip wasn`t a problem either. A bus stop is directly at the entrance of the hotel and for 1EUR you can get directly to Roma Termini. I`d recommend that hotel to everybody!

Our stay att Hotel Fiori was wonderfull! The staff was really helpful, and the location was fantastic! You can walk to all the things to see in Rome! It also feels safe to walk in the area by night. I will stay it this hotel whenever I go to Rome again.

The hotel was clean and specious. As far as 2 star hotels go, this is the best we have seen. In fact it's nicer than some 3 star hotels we've stayed at in Italy. The bathroom was large and comfortable. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The location is great for either walking to most sites or taking a bus to others. One note: the air-conditioning was NOT included in the original price. We had to pay an additional 5 euros a night to use it.

Just as advertised. Small, but clean. You don't hear any street noise, but you do hear noise from hallway, etc. They charge an extra 5 Eu for Air Conditioning, but it's worth it. Desk staff was of nominal helpfulness.

It's in a good location close to most of the major sights in Rome. The rooms are small but are well kept and the bathrooms are better than most 3 star hotels.

Small but clean. Noisy and ceiling fan dodgy when it worked. Late night access can be problematic.

The hotel was clean and comfortable. the location was excellent. I was a bit dissapointed at the cost when compared to other cities I've stayed in, but it was still one of the cheaper hotels in the area, and this proved to be the best value available in Rome. I'm overall very happy.

The room was clean, the bathroom was nice sized. The room was small and it was near the cafe area, so it was very noisy in the morning. The window faced Nazionale street, so that added to the noise level. The location was perfect, and the employees were friendly.

Fiori was great, location was perfect, within walking distance to all the main sights. The only problem was my room was right next to the breakfast room, so once it was 7am sleep time was over for me! And the street noise was a bit loud..but I would stay there again, the price was excellent for the location, close to a lot of restaurants and great shopping on Via Nazionale. Staff was very helpful and friendly whenever I needed directions.

The room booked was not available when we arrived, so the first night we got another room, which was nice but very small. The second night we got the room we had booked.

Over-all an enjoyable stay, mainly because it is in an excellent location for this 'no-frills' hotel. Very basic in every way (don't expext a hearty breakfast or exuberant welcome) but the room was clean and private, with en-suite, which was the main thing. my only real problem was the noise levels - the main road just outside, an the room was as close as you could get to the breakfast room, so clattering and talking from 6.30am. some ear-plugs soon sorted that out! And it was a little over budget. I would stay here again, but only if i could guarantee my room was in a quieter part of the hotel.

Location is great, almost all sights are in walking distance. Clean rooms and friendly service. The room, directly above the busy Via Nationale, was a bit noisy.

We were very happy with this hotel. Very good bus connection in front of the house. You can reach Pantheon, Colosseum and Vatican within 10 to 20 mins. The traffic noise in the rooms is tolerable - we had much worse experiences in Rome before. Room and bathroom were very clean and the room service excellent. The only thing was that the porter never stopped his permanent phone calls when we were asking him for keys and even for the bill. The drain of the shower was a bit blocked and the heating (as usual in Italy) had no thermostat so the room temperature was all the day summer like and you have to open the window to stay alive - but after midnight the heating shut down automatically and around 4 a.m. it got really cold in the room. But luckily they had deposit enough blankets in the wardrobe.

An amzing hotel for the price - probably the best hotel I have stayed in, even when not on a budget. Teh only problem would be having to use teh slow, small elevator all the time and the paper thin walls, but those aside, the Fiori is like a Hilton, with an ever better breakfast!!!

Your hotel was superb and made our visit to Rome even more special. The location was excellent and the ladies looking after the breakfast were wonderful.Thank you for a wonderful stay! I would like to complete a review on the hotel La Bruyere in Paris which was not a success.

We really enjoyed our stay at Fiori. The hotel was brilliant value for money, the rooms were spacious and tastefully decorated and our bathroom suite was brand new. Although there was some noise from others rooms and the corridor, it was never a problem, and with a room at the back of the building we had no noise from the road. Excellent location - would definitely stay there again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 3-night stay at the Fiori. We had a room on the street and can see how it might be too noisy in summer with the windows open, but in January, with the windows closed, the street noise was adequately muffled and not a bother. The breakfast was great (my daughter loves their hot chocolate!) and we found everyone to be courteous and helpful. Great location, great price. We'd stay there again, no question.

We had a very nice stay at Fiori in a very spacious room. The employees were all kind and helpful and in the morning we always got a smile from the "breakfast-people". The location was also perfect. Making a reservation at venere.com is very easy, so all in all it was a good experience visiting Rome

The Hotel Fiori is GREAT! The location can't be beat - it's only about a ten minute walk to the Colosseum. The staff were very helpful and the rooms very clean. The only problem was that the hotel is located on a busy street and it was somewhat noisy. With the window closed, it was tolerable. However, the price couldn't be beat and the all in all, I would HIGHLY recommend the Hotel Fiori for anyone travelling to Rome.

The Hotel is ok, particularly for its price, cleanliness and central location. The only problem is the loud traffic noise coming from via Nazionale in the night and early morning and the hotel door bell.

Pictures were misleading -- rooms were VERY small and appeared much larger in the photos. Air Conditioning was an extra charge. Hall lights were turned off at all times and had to be turned on to see where you were going. The location was convenient but on a very noisy street. And because of the street noise, you couldn't leave the windows open and are therefore forced to buy the air conditioning. There were no common areas but the breakfast room was sunny and the breakfast was fine.

The hotel room wasn't as nice (or large) as the one pictured on the website; however the staff was great and the location was wonderful. We didn't end up spending much time in the room, so it didn't really matter.

This hotel is very centrally located (Roman Forum a 10-minute walk; Quirinale 5-minutes, Spanish Steps a brisk 15-minutes; train station 15 minutes). Buses to almost every area of Rome stop at the corner. While the view from the breakfast room is quite lovely, it doesn't really "overlook" the Trajan Forum as it said in the web page. The rooms were not huge, but big enough (a few of the rooms are larger -- particularly those in the same corner as the breakfast room (we peeked while it was being cleaned)). The hotel furnishings were being renovated while we were there, so travellers who follow may be pleasantly surprised. One gripe: the breakfast. We stayed four nights and if we had to see one more of those hard rolls with the little tins of meat and cheese again... well, it certainly wasn't anything to write home about. Some great restaurants are within a 3-block area (a Sardinian restaurant in particular, as well as Petrucci right across the street).

We stayed at Hotel Fiori at two separate nights getting different rooms. The rooms were very nice and clean. One room had a "view" of the Vittoriano monument. Noice from the street outside was obvious but not disturbing. Bed in first room was queen-size. Bed in second room was two single beds put together and a bit uncomfortable. The hotel has an excellent location, close to many sights. The hotel employees were friendly, but the receptionist dropped my creditcard and pen about five times when we paid. All in all this was probably one of the best hotel I have stayed in and would definately stay here again and recommend it to others.

Rome is a difficult city in which to find a decent hotel at an affordable price. This is an acception. Although the room we were given was not any where near as nice or spacious as the photo shown on the internet, it was very neat and clean. All furnishings and linens seemed fairly new and in very good condition. We had to check out before breakfast, so we have no comment there. But, we were pleased with this hotel and would recommend it as a solid value.

We thoroughly enjoyed staying at the Fiori hotel. although the noise level was high from traffic noise, the benefit of a hotel in the middle of town is worth the noise, which does calm down through the night. The windows and shutters keep out much of it. Thank you to the staff for an excellent stay. if we return to Rome we shall head straight there.
