Possibly a little expensive given location and quality. However the hotel is extremely convenient for the station, bus station, walking distance to important areas.

The sensation that you receive is of lack of clean, poor maintenance, and poor overall standings. TV was obsolete and very poor signal, room door was in a very bad shape (at least the rooms 104, 103, 105) and when you enter to one of them look like are entering the others.

I came in Rome for 4 days(3 full days)and considering this short visit I didn`t have with me much luggage, properly I had a rucksack. So when I arrived in hotel I didn`t have any problem with chek-in but the receptionist certain Andrea was very suprised that a have such a small luggage and when came down with the same rucksack( I emptied it before going in the city) he asked me again about my luggage and when I confirmed once again that it was all that I had with me he said that he prefered me to pay in advance for my stay in their hotel. It was not a problem to pay in advance but this treatment of clients especially when the person arrives in a new city it`s at least impolite - judge prosperity of the client by his luggage it`s not correct(also considering tha fact what when you book your room you leave the data of your credit card). Except this unpleasant "welcoming" the hotel was quite well. Breakfast was rather abundant(but there was no coffee machine and coffee that they gave was "schiffo" - to have normal coffee you have to ask and they gave it mostly to Italians). The location it`s very convenient near metro station and Termini (it`s easy to take train to airport). Tne only thing(for me it`s was ok, but perhaps for persons who have some problems with back it should important to know) beds in my room was with springs( without rigid framework).

My scores may be a bit harsh. Basically for central Rome it's what I expected for the price. However we did have a small double/large single bed the first night but they did move us and give us a discount for both nights
Germany, Sep 2008
Good value for money, great location since very close to Termini; reasonably good breakfast buffet. Surprised to find even a bar and an air conditioner in the room, which actually worked! Very easy to reach all the attractions in and around Rome. Lots of places to eat nearby but all of mediocre quality. The rooms on the Via Volturno side are extremely noisy at night. The windows and the walls are not sound-proof and the windows even shake violently at night. The staff could not even answer the most simple question like whether the water in the tap is to drink or not.

Old and dirty place, the hotel needs an urgent remodelation. Termini area is full of "bad people". Employees were kind and polite and breakfast was quite good.

We enjoyed our stay at the Fiamma. It's not situated near the main attractions in Rome, but if you don't mind walking it's very nice. The Termini trainstation is close, a big plus if you have alot of luggage. The breakfast was Ok, (compared with other continental breakfasts we've had) bread, butter, cheese, ham, some fruit. We had a pleasant stay.

We stayed for 4 nights in May 2008. The room was spacious an clean but had no view (better not opening the windows). The bathroom was nice and we just had a problem of water sinking in the shower at the begining but the staff fixed it right after I mentionned it. The breakfast was nice. The walls are a bit thin so I heard or neighbours talking and more than that. But nothing to make your night a nightmare. I would recommend it.

We stayed in Rome for 4 nights. It was our first time in Rome and at Hotel Fiamma. We had a very good time but unfortunately we couldn't see all the sights because it was a national holiday (25th April) and for 3 days Rome was overcrowded with endless queues everywhere and the sights were literally covered with people. The location of the hotel is convenient, next to the central station, as to the room it could be cleaner and as to the staff, some of them could be friendlier. There are good trattorias near the hotel with very good food.

this hotel was represented very well by Venere, my room was very comfortably large for a single room in Europe, also furnishings were nice, painted and decorative, bathroom good, and room very clean, also nice staff at desk, English well-spoken. Good value for price, and decent breakfast. Would definitely stay at Fiamma again.

We booked 2 double rooms and 1 triple for a group of us -- were surprised that the "double rooms" did not consist of one regular sized bed, but two twin beds. The breakfast was good -- the location was a little off the beaten path. One of our cab drivers had a hard time finding the hotel.

We only stayed one night in order to catch our flight out. The hotel offered all we needed - the room was spacious and clean, reception is not big and breakfast was nothing special but we wre not looking for that. Area around hotel is not great but you do not have to walk far for transport. Found a very well priced and good food trattoris in same street about 100 metres other way. Would recommend this place

We were sent to another hotel because there had been problems with the water-pipes. In the other hotel there were no twin-bed-rooms (the whish for this was the reason we ordered such a long time in advance): We asked if it then was possible to have a price-reduction and were just sent away in a very rude way!

For convenient location close to Termini and with good access (walking and public transport) to all the main sights the Fiamma is fine. Our very comfortable first floor room was directly over the junction but we weren't unduly bothered by noise and though the place is not the Ritz, you are not paying high prices! The dining room is perhaps a little claustrophobic but a very adequate buffet breakfast of cereals, nice pastries and fruit (as well as the ususal continental processed cheeses, salami and spam!) was included and the staff were courteous and helpful. The fact that a train direct from the airport took us to within comfortable walking distance of our room was a real plus. AND just across the road is a really good tratoria were we ate each evening of our stay (try the dried beef and rocket salad starter, pork chop and house red...)

Hotel Fiamma is perfectly located near termini and therefore is at most a 20 minute walk from the trevi fountain and from there perhaps 10 minutes to the spanish steps. The hotel is clean (rooms are cleaned, sheets are replaced every morning), and the staff is helpful. Hotel Fiamma is VERY BASIC though,so those looking to splurge on room service or go in a pool should not go to hotel fiamma, but for those who spend the whole day roaming rome, as me and my boyfriend did, hotel fiamma is perfect for just coming home to and having a nice night. P.S. The hotel is quite cheap and breakfast is included.

I have been in Rome a lot of times, always in different hotels and locations. I have booked 2 rooms in my name, the first one was ok, the second one had problems with water linkage from the airconditioning unit. The hotel was fuly booked and the room change was not the case. Nice hotel. Not in the best part of town but only a 2 minute walk from the main railway station. Rooms are small but fine. breakfast is excellent - good selection. service was good too at reception desk, spoke pretty good english. Overall stay was excellent, however watch out for those maids, my friend ( foolishly I know ) left his digital camera in the room and on our return later that evening it was gone. A shrug of the shoulders from reception was the best we could get.

The location of the hotel and its services met our needs during an extended stay in Roma. It was close to train station for accessing other transportation, etc. Staff were helpful and were resourceful in providing references for places for evening dining. The cucina recommended reflected home cooked meals/entrees - - went twice. The room was a nice size and met our needs. The hotel was recommended by a friend who stayed there with a tour group several years ago. If in Roma again, we would book again. Thank you.

Fiamma is a budget hotel. It should be looked upon as that. Four nights in November cost me €280. Both checking in and checking out were done within a matter of minutes. I stayed in a single room on the 4th floor which faced onto the main road. There was some noise from the traffic outside during the day but between midnight and 6am it was virtually silent. The room was fit for the purpose that I required. It was clean and tidy as was the bathroom. The bathroom was very compact but it did the job. I enjoyed the breakfasts which although simple were good. Cooked meats, bread, hard boiled eggs, cereal, juices. You could really fill up for the day ahead with as much as you wanted. I especially enjoyed the breakfast coffee which comprised of a beaker of coffee and a beaker of hot milk. As a single traveler I think I got about 5 cups of coffee out of that. The breakfast staff were excellent. Within a matter of minutes of being seated you were presented with coffee. The location was excellent. I got the bus from the airport which stops at the side of the main tran station. The hotel was a 2 minute walk along the same road heading north. Its also close to 2 metro stations, I preferred to use the Republica station.

The hotel looked good and our room was nice and spacious. Unfortunately, although the bathroom was spotlessly clean there was a very unpleasant smell which seemed to come from the drains and it really made you want to avoid the bathroom. Also, although not too far from the main tourist areas, the hotel's location felt a little bit unsafe once it got dark. This is not a hotel we would choose to stay in again.

Good rooms, good location. Enjoyed a good breakfast. The only disappointment was a lack of communication. We arrived in Rome at 2 am. When we got to the Fiamma, we were told that we had been booked in to one of their other hotels, which was then another 10 minute walk. We would have apppreciated this information beforehand since we booked well in advance. But we were not dissappointed once we got there. Overall quite content.

Upon late arrival for a seven day stay, check-in was friendly and smooth. First impression of room (1st Floor at rear of property) was, spartan i.e. small and narrow with a steel frame bedstead. The pristine bathroom, with all amenities provided and functioning, including an unusually spacious, for this area and price range, double-door, walk-in shower cubicle, was almost a big as the room. However, the bed proved to be extremely comfortable and the pillows (which, for me can make or break a holiday) were good quality and very comfortable. The room was maintained in a spotless conditiom throughout my stay. There was, on most evenings, some domestic family noises from adjacemt properties in the block but these were never intrusive and did not go into the early hours. Thoughtless hotel guests, on the other hand, did waken me a couple of times with loud conversations in the corridors and careless slamming of doors. Breakfast was the expected "Continental" buffet and, although repetitive, was more than adequate for re-fuelling for the days meanderings with plenty of fruit provided as well. All staff were invariable civil and helpful throughout my stay and I would have absolutely no hesitation in returning to the "Faimma"

Because I was a first-time visitor to Rome, and naturally nervous and overwhelmed by such a great and creative city, I could have used a little more attention to needs to settle in and feel at home. However, I realize most of your visitors know the language and are seasoned travelers and you expect all guests to know all about things -- which I did not. The room was great but it remains a mystery to me how to turn on the air conditioner. Mercifully, it rained my one night there and with the window open, I could breathe. But an excellent, clean room with all that I needed and extremely courteous people at the desk. If I return, I would like to stay there again,

The hotel is well located in Rome, close to most important attractions in the city, close to Termini Railway Station, close to Metro. Brakfast is good, but same menu during all 5 days we stayed in. If someone interested to go outside of Rome city to Tivoli or Pompei for 1 day, you can go to the Termini Station and there you will find representatives of all major car rent agencies. It is very easy to find way out of the city from the Hotel. There are sevral internet caffes near the hotel. We got a room for 70 Euro/night for 5 nights as a last time offer and it worth every euro we paid. There are minor shortcomings - sevral times there was not enough hot water, shower was old and slightly broken. But this is typical situation for all 3 star hotels in Italy. I would recommend this hotel if you are going to visit Rome and stay in good location and you do not like to spend much money on hotels.

Overall the hotel is a good base for sightseeing in Rome because of its proximity to the main train/bus/metro station. On the positive side reception staff were friendly and helpful and breakfast was good. On the other hand the room allocated on the first night was not up to standard which was disappointing and inconvenient. We were annoyed also to find that the bar never opened, as this was one of the reasons we chose hotel Fiamma. Lastly there is a lack of public rest areas in the hotel.

The Fiamma was the perfect solution to the problem posed by a 7:30 am flight home from Fiumacino airport. The concierge was very professional and efficient and arranged for an early morning taxi from the hotel. The hotel is a short walk from termini and is easily located. The hotel was clean. The hotel, however, is very loud. There is very poor sound-proofing. We heard our neighbours in the hallway late into the night as they talked and jingled keys to open doors. The street sounds were also very loud. Having said all that, the hotel room was on sale at 70E and this represented very good value. While we would not normally choose to stay near the termini, this hotel provided the perfect solution to an early flight home. I would highly recommend this hotel for this purpose...unless you are a light sleeper!

It was a pity the bar was not functional and there was no tea or coffee making facility in the room. Those were our only complaints. The room was cleaned daily, the staff were polite and helpful. We found the location ideal for us, close enough to the station to be really convenient for the airport shuttle, trains and buses, but not so close as to be unpleasant. We managed to walk from the hotel as far as the colosseum one day and the Piazza Navona another - because of its proximity to the station it was also easy to find our way back on the buses. We would definitely stay there again if we were to return, and we hope we will. We had a fabulous time.

Good location, near station and therefore easy access by Metro and bus to tourist sites. Staff gave good recommendation for restaurant areas and good directions on tourist map to find our way around. Small point was that we ordered a double room: when we arrived, it had been set upas a twin but reception was very apologetic and immediately offered to change. We had a quiet room at the back: note that rooms at front of hotel may be noisier, so request quieter rooms when you check in.

Hotel is located near train and metro stations in close proximity to major attractions. Service was just fine nothing fancy. Price included local taxes and breakfast.

An oasis of comfort and silence in the termini area. I did not have breakfast, so I can´t rate it. Check-out time 10.30 am might be a little early, but the hotel offers a baggage deposit free of charge for the rest of the day.

The initial reception reflected the hotel: polite, but tired and in need of cheering up considerably. This hotel we found to be an excellent base, close to the train station, which was not the nicest of areas, but within reasonable walking distance of all the main sights. (Care if using the metro - we were pickpocketed! Hotel staff less than helpful, but British Embassy excellent.) Breakfast was excellent, and very wide-ranging, but dirty cups one morning. Room was nice size, tidy, cleaned every day. Hotel lacked relaxation areas - so-called 'bar' was in the lobby.

Our second year staying at the Fiamma hotel. As before, the staff where excellent, friendly and very helpful. The bedroom and bathroom both very spacious, very clean and importantly for a stay in Rome, very relaxing. I really cant fault this hotel. Value for money is superb and, when coupled with a superb location for access to all main public transport, I would recommend it to anyone.

I think its an secure option. Hotels in Rome are expensive and this hotel its quite good. Maybe the bathrooms are old, but clean. For the prize we payed (80 €) its quite good.
