Hotel Excel Roma Montemario - Rome

Venue is OK with good potential(seems to have been renovated recently) but finishings and quality of service are disappointing. Breakfast definitely not good.

Good hotel for decent price in Rom. Nice, quite and big rooms, nice bathroom also (looked nice but smelled bad), big but low quality continental breakfast (eatable were the crossaints), a bus stop is around the corner (40 min drive to center, 30 min back, every 20 min all day, tickets have to be bought at a tabac shop for 1 euro in advance!).

To get to Excel Roma Montemario hotel, you have to take the metro Line A to Cipro and from there by bus 907 about 25 min. to the busstop "Trionfale Scolopi". From the busstop after about 5-10 minutes walk you reach the hotel. The metro and the bus is full of people if you decide to return to the hotel between 1700-1900 hours. The worst thing at the hotel is the shower-door; water leaks out from the shower cabin out, since the door do not close properly, shower is up on the wall you cannot use it freely. The second negative point is the weak sound-isolation. I had to knock the wall one night, when someone in the next room watched an opera program on TV at 01 at night.. We stayed in triple room with our 15 yrs old daughter.There is a good gym, tennis-court, an outdoor pool at the hotel. Staff is wonderfull.

The holtel is nice and clean. the 2 main problems: 1 - the room was VERY small. 2 - it is 30 minutes far from Rome center, by taxi.

While clean and available at a very low price, I was not really impressed, even considering this was in noisy Rome. We had two rooms. In one, the heating - a/c adjustment had no effect. Any shower resulted in a flooded bathroom. In the other, the shower first had to be repaired by the bellboy before actually working after a fashion. Room phone didn't work. But worst of all was that at least on this floor, the ground floor, the hallway is extremely noisy. Every step echoes along the long corridor, into every room. All doors fall shut with a loud bang that let my own room door resonate. It was even annoying when I was wide awake, nevermind trying to sleep. So, despite the low price, I don't recommend this hotel unless you don't mind loud noises.

Excel is excellent hotel for business and leisure travelers. If you have your own car rome is easy reached in 15 minutes allthough the neighbourhood is not bad it self. Swimming pool excellent clean. Food great. Will stay again if in Rome

Excellent, but definitely you need your own car. I'll take it again.

a) customers should be repeatedly advised to insert the key/card into the appropriate slot as soon as they enter the room, otherwise the alarm goes off and it could be very annoying for other customers, especially... in the middle of the night. b)a no-smoking floor could be appreciated by many customers
