When we had booked the room, we had requested that there would one full sized bed. However, they claimed that we had requested two twins. But the front desk was accommodating and changed our rooms. It should be noted that the room was in the back (bottom floor and up a flight of stairs) and had one single window. At night, it was quiet and really dark. In addition, all the rooms are tiny and have tiny bathrooms.

El hotel cumplió las expectativas en la parte edilicia. Desayuno pobre y repetido, sin frutas ni yogurt. El aire acondicionado lo apagan a la noche cuando duermes sin decirte nada, mucho calor. Faltaron toallas y no las cambian todos los días.El personal falta de amabilidad y rígidos. No entregaron factura al realizar el pago.En el frigobar solo 2 botellas de agua mineral.No lo recomendaría a mis amigos.

Hotel Donatello provided us with the most perfect holiday to Rome. Both the hotel and the location were excellent. Everything we wanted to see and more, was within walking distance. Trams and trains are close by but we enjoyed walking to the Colosseum, Trevi Fountain etc as there was so much more to stop and see along the way. We certainly enjoyed our stay and Carlo was a kind and helpful host. We loved the light breakfast in the courtyard every morning and would highly recommend Hotel Donatello.

We had a very good stay at Hotel Donatello, in a newly refurbished and very nice double room with marble flooring and artwork on the walls which really made the room seem more like a four star one. The staff was friendly and helpful and the only slightly negative aspect of the hotel is the very simple breakfast: only dry breadrolls and a croissant which doesn't really fit with the rest of the standard of the hotel in our opinion. Would also recommend to take the metro to either Vittorio Emanuele or Manzoni or a tram if you're carrying heavy bags instead of walking from Termini.

The waiter of the breakfast saw me and my girlfriend go to do breakfast at 8:50,and said"look at these fucking guy, they come 10 minutes before the closing time, fuck off" and start to serve us putting everything with violence on our table! Il cameriere delle colazioni appena ha visto me e la mia ragazza entrare nella sala colazioni alle 8:50 ha detto a voce alta"guardate questi stronzi che vengono a fare colazione 10 minuti prima della chiusura, fanculo". Poi ha iniziato a serverci sbattendo caraffe del caffè e piatti sulla tavola!

Las habitaciones no son excesivamente grandes pero hacen el servicio requerido. Se encuentra bien situado y el personal es extremadamente amable.

Lo mejor: los propietarios, que son muy amables. Por lo demás, recordad que las estrellas de los hoteles en Italia no significan lo mismo que en España: a este le pondría 2. Al principio nos pusieron en una habitación muy pequeña cuyo baño no fucionaba bien, pero al día siguiente nos cambiaron sin ningún problema a otra mayor y en perfecto estado. Desayunos correctos. Volvería a este hotel sin duda.

We stayed in this hotel for two nights in August and found it to be ideal. It's within walking distance of Termini station, but far enough away from it that you don't have to deal with all that goes with big rail stations (hawkers, drifters, noise etc). The immediate area around the hotel is quiet.The hotel is small but clean and comfortable. By far the most striking thing about it is the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. They were only too willing to give advice (always good) on restaurants, getting around, places to see etc. We would be more than happy to go back.

Para Roma esto es un 5* High. Superserviciales empleados y propietarios. Delicioso "Giardinetto" para desayunar. Como dicen los romanos a 5 minutos de todo que luegos son tres kilometros. Muy bien comunicado. Porta Maggiore a un paso. Plaza Republica 10 minutos caminando. Recomendado parejas y matrimoni niños grandes .

The hotel staff were extremely knowledgeable and friendly. They were great in helping to obtain reservations for the Uffizi and Academmia galleries, as well as bike rental. We (high school teacher and two students) had a great stay. Highly recommended.

As a tourist with a busy day ahead breakfast would be important. Breakfast consisted of a bread roll and pastry per person with tea or coffee available. Breakfast was available until 9.45 but when we arrived down at 9.15am the properitor looked at his watch indicating that we were leaving it a bit late. I found this very off putting. Young gentleman that covered reception at certain times was very helpful with directions and good places to eat.

A very nice hotel, well situated in Rome near buses,tram and underground.The hotelowners with staff took exellent care of us. If we ever get back to Rome we´ll try to stay at the same hotel!!!

Very nice people, small but good and clean hotel. It's a little bit noisy to the Via Porta Magiore-Side - if you want it calm, ask for a room to the backside. The Hotel is not directly in the old town. To reach the Colosseum and other tourist attractions, you have to walk 15 Minutes or take the Bus or Tram which you can reach at the street directly in Front of the hotel (it's only 1 Euro a ride, but they are packed sometimes). Because you're not in the middle (but not far away) of the Tourist-Area, you have the chance to see a lot of everyday roman life and all the attractions as well. If you like icecream, don't miss Palazzo del Freddo Giovanni Fassi on Via Principe Eugenio - just a few steps ahead from Dontallo.

I think the main two things to note of my stay at Hotel Donatello in Rome are: - The warm welcoming and the way the hotel staff dealt with our questions; - The fact that the room was a tiny one, with barely the needed space for a minimum comfort during our stay.

We like the personal touch offered by the two owners. They helped us with our bags and arranged for an English speaking driver to give us a personal tour that we wanted
