The overall hotel is very good but - the room was not ready when we arrived and there was not even an apology. the room itself is clean and comfortable (air condition) but the bathroom is dirty, small and mouldy. should be renovated very urgent. in comfortable "by foot"-distance to the metro station "cornelia". breakfast was very good!

Very nice place, if you plan to visit Rome and not to spend time in hotel. Rooms aren't really nice, and not super-clean, but staff people are very kind, breakfast is very good, they have a very big parking, and really you can't find something better for that price so near to the city centre.

The Staff were very welcoming & helpful, the location & surroundings were great. Rooms quite basic, single blankets on a double bed, not at all like the photographs, not very sound proof, especially in the bathroom, which were a little neglected. Need, do not disturb signs, the maid entered twice without knocking. After being out for 6 hrs the room had still not been cleaned. The breakfast was very good.

We certainly got a good price for a good facility but the location of the hotel was just to far out for us as a family, that said I would recommend the accommodation to anyone who is not afraid to learn the metro system, I don't keep great health so the hill up and down to the metro was frustrating for me (my daughter and son managed no problem).

I do not recomend this hotel to anyobody. Firstly, the pictures on the website are just from the reception and conference rooms, while the actual rooms are in another buildings (4). It is more like an faculty dorm, not a hotel. The rooms are simple and not very clean. There is no security when entering the hotel building, in fact there is nobody there. The hotel is far from the city center (you need ~ 40 minutes, 2 buses to get in Rome center).

I´d like to reserve 3 rooms: 1 double, 1 triple and 1 for 4 people. The employees took there were only triple rooms. When we stayed at rooms, we saw once was for 4 peolpe. For us was very good, but the employees were without this information.

The bedroom was exceptionally small and lacked facilities for putting clothing away, therefore we had to virtually live out of our suitcases all week as the only things we could hang up were coats, shirts, dresses etc. There was no room to store t-shirts, socks, underwear and shoes.

Very nice hotel. The hotel is classic 70s style and my wife and I really enjoyed it. It is a short 1 EUR bus ride to the vatican. 10-12 EUR taxi ride. We enjoyed the quiet at night, versus being right in the middle of everything and not being able to open your windows at night due to street noise. The public areas were a great place to sit outside and enjoy a coffee or beer at night. I would definitely stay there again.

Over all stay (myself & my mother),quite good. Hotel lovely, people friendly, & the hotel surroundings very nice. BUT, we ate in the hotel the first night - not much choice, and although there was only 4 other people in the restaurant, we had to wait a very long time for the food! Our first night in the hotel, we had a cockroach in our room! Yes, a cockroach. A big one. Someone did come up within a few minutes to sort it. Mum had already squished it, but they fetched it & offered us another room which we didn't do. The next morning I asked that the maid mop the floor for us. This was not done as I left a mark on the floor & it was still there when we got back! Breakfast was great. The morning of our flight, we had asked for a wake up call, we only got a call to say our taxi was here. We were not awake. They said there was a problem with the phones!!! Rome itself is brilliant. Just don't stay at this hotel.

Excellent Location close to the GRA, short bus ride to the METRO for touring Rome. Beautiful surroundings. Breakfast was good. The hotel is a cluster of 3 story walkup buildings with no lift.If you have problems with stairs or hauling luggage then request a lower level room. Beds were a little soft, mainly because of North American Size matteresses were placed on smaller european style frames. Great over all value

My wife and myself stayed at the torre rossa hotel in november 2005. the staff were as others have written unhelpful, to put it mildly. the room was disgusting, filthy and full of mould. since returning in november, have written to the hotel and their head office on various occassions for their views, and to this date have received no answer whatsoever. I have contacted Venere.com and comfort hotel collection to whom they are connected, both were concerned about our stay and asked the hotel for their view. As i have already said, no feedback has been received. For pictures and full story please go to http://www.thesimmondsfamily.net/torrerossaparkhotel/ I would not suggest anyone go to this place if they have any sense.

A very nice ambience, beautiful gardens. Restaurant food of very good quality and reasonably priced. Walls between rooms quite thin though, and though the other guests were very quiet, one could still hear from next door rooms, so if you are unlucky enough to have a noisey neighbour, you may have a sleepless night! But everything else was top class!

Excellent buffet breakfast including hot food. Staff in dining room unfriendly and uninterested in helping. Arrived at 11:30 p.m. after long and difficult journey by plane, coach to Rome and local bus to hotel. We found the reception impersonal. No food or drink available at all not even a bottle of water. Told that a hotel accross the road was open till 2 a.m. Majority of staff were aloof and unfriendly. Rooms in separate blocks from reception area and were very basic and institutional in appearance. No room service, no hairdryer, no fridge or mini-bar in room. Could hear people in room overhead using to the toilet, putting shoes on the floor and talking, walls and floors very thin. TV had only Italian stations. No safe in room and receptionist told us there was no room in the safe for our belongings.

Room was not exactly large, but clean and quiet until 7 in the morning, when first Rome-tourists have a shower and bang the doors. The same as everywhere. (At first we were in a small and scruffy room that had a ventilation system going outside, also at nighttime - number 10. We complained and it was no problem to change.) Public transport is ok (although...next time I take a hotel with a Metro station nearby). Bus 96 stops right outside the hotel and takes you to Metro (5 Min) or directly to St. Peter and further to centro storico (20 Min). Breakfast is good. (I don't need Anastacia with it - but ok, the same as everywhere.) The staff was friendly. And the place was quiet, no noise from the streets. So alltogether - it's ok.

The hotelroom was very noisy because everything was of stone or steel and rather small. The staff was not very friendly en re-active. We didn't feel like hosts. The hotel is a large conference hotel and suited us well. The communal areas were very good. The rooms are anonymous but clean and have all the basic facilties you need if you are out exploring Rome all day. The breakfast was included in the price and excellent. We worked out the bus and metro routes into the centre of the city - the bus stop is outside the hotel and takes you directly to the St Peter's but you will need to get another bus to get to other historic sights. The Metro is about a 15 minute walk from the hotel but stops at all the major sights. Overall, we were impressed.

When I arrived they did not have my correct date of checkin on their log sheet but they did have the fax stated the correct day. We waited three hours for them to figure out where we were going to be staying. During that time one of the employees stated that we should be looking for a room on our own and that it was not the hotels problem. The same employee stated that if they did find a hotel that we should pay the difference in price. Also, the hotel had mosquitoes in all the rooms and it was a bit dirty. In a whole, the Domus Pacis was a horrible experience and would not recommend it to anyone.

Overall Domus Pacis was a reasonably-priced place to stay. Rooms were clean & a good buffet-style breakfast was available each morning (included in the price). It was also relatively easy to travel to the centre of Rome by bus. However, we were a bit surprised to discover that there were no lifts in the building. Our room was situated on the 2nd floor. This proved particularly difficult for one member of our Group, who has a disability. It also meant having to carry our luggage up a few flights of stairs. Probably the worst part though for us was the problem we had with mosquitoes. Two of us in our Group got about 20 bites each & the third person in our Group also got quite a few bites. In the end, it was so unbearable that we had to ring Reception after midnight one night, who immediately arranged for us to move room. (The mosquitoes appeared to be coming in through the ceiling of our room). Unfortunately the mosquito problem in our first room influenced our experience & memory of our overall stay in Domus Pacis. The hotel staff told us that mosquitoes were a big problem all over Rome.

The Domus Pacis is a modern hotel/conference centre set in quiet attractive grounds on the outskirts of Rome. The only problem with the hotel is its location. It is difficult to get to if you do not have your own transport. If you a relying on public transport you will need to take the metro, then a bus, and even then there is an uncomfortable walk along a busy road with no pavement and steep walls on either side. Once you reach the hotel you are in paradise. The grounds are tranquil and the whole area is very peaceful.

I will list a few things below which will help you with your Stay in Italy, as well a review about this Hotel. I must say first that I loved Italy and the constructive critiscm I give about the Hotel is purely about the hotel and not the Holiday. The general staff at Domus are rude and very unhelpful, it almost became a game to try and buy a drink rather than enjoying there serivce. If you treat the Hotel as a stop off point, a place to rest your head, the service is very good and excellent value for money. However if you use the Hotel facilities then it becomes less than a Hotel. The brochure said it had multiple bars and restaurants, we found 1 bar with a moody barman, and ZERO restaurants. The affiliation with the spa down the round is a complete joke, it will cost you £40 per person to swim! We went to the hotel across the road to check out what it was like for food and ambiance, but the forced smiles soon became a drag, and for the price the food was awful. Travelling into the centre of Rome is very different from how the web site sells it. Although they dont need to lie, it is as they say outside of the city centre, but there is a bus which takes you straight from outside the Hotel into the centre ( No 98 i think ), but there is no way you can walk it, as the road is like a dual carrage way. The buses are easy as well, buy the tickets from the hotels or shops then stamp them on the buses, although nobody ever checks. Taxi from the Airport to and from the Hotel really ripped us off. They charged us 60Euros each way, which seems to be the norm, as another couple says they had money stolen off the taxi man, so the lesson here is too take a bus or have a pre paid taxi. In conclusion, this Hotel was great value for money, but only use it as a place to stay, dont expect Hotel facilities.

The location of Domus Pacis is excellent because of the bus connections. The room we were given during our first stay was satisfactory. It was obvious from blotches on the walls that previous occupants had also had trouble with mosquitoes. We were informed that breakfast was not available to us when we first checked in but during our second stay, booked through Venere, bed and breakfast was included and the room was of a higher standard. The rooms were cleaned daily and the security was good. The airconditioning was essential during the European summer heatwave. The availability of the internet facilities in the foyer area was a bonus and in fact ensured that we saved 35 euros on our second stay rather than booking through reception! We would stay there again.

The room was very small and the shower was aswell. The airconditioning didn't work and we reported this at the reception, they told us they would send someone over to make it, but it didn't work the whole time we stayed. Also it was very noisy, we heard a lot of noises in the night.

Overall, our stay at Domus Pacis was as expected. One desk staff person was excellent - ( I believe his name was Luigi). The others were marginal. The shower area was very tiny...but this, I think, is the norm in Italy. I was disappointed with the actual location of the hotel - it was quite a way out of the center of activity - we had hoped for a place near the Vatican - this was quite far away. Still, all in all, I would recommend this hotel for future guests. The breakfast was somewhat skimpy..especially for vegetarians (I had hoped that some fruit, hot cereal, would complement the breakfast)

The hotel may be affiliated with the saturnia spa across the road but the staff were unable to advise if we had acess to the swimming pool and leisure facilities as the domus pacis has none

The place is a little bit far way from the city center, but it has really good price when I was staying there. I'd like to stay there again next time!
