I was received by a Bangladeshi or Parkistani. I got bitten by moskitos or bugs.

We were pleasantly surprised by our stay at Domus Mea. After reading the reviews we were very nervous but decided to go with it as it was within our budget and convenient. We had none of the problems we had read about. We arrived late but the staff (Salvatore, I think his name was) was extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are basic but after a few weeks in Europe we had come to expect that. Probably not as close to Termini Station as indicated on webpage but still fairly close and convenient for everything. Even the neighbourhood was not as scary as I had expected. Nice restaurants nearby. If the price is right we'll stay again.

A good hotel, bu a bit expensive. 50 euros a night for a single bedroom with no shower nor washroom. There are other hotels that are cheaper (35 euros) and include a shower (no washroom). The only added benefit from the additional cost was the inclusion of a free breakfast (bread rolls) and your choice of coffee (americano), cappuccino or tea.

If you are from the US, then you will find the room alarmingly small. If you are from Europe, then you will be fine with the size. In the Bath Room, there were no wash cloths available and the bars of soap were way to small to be of real value. For Breakfast, they could use some variety. They offered the same old cold muffin every day. They could have had dry cereal or any number of things that would have set better. Perhaps I am just too spoiled with variety in my life. The bed was two beds pushed together. Other than the things I have listed, my stay was good. It served it's purpose.

Some of the doors including the one to the bath room need to be fixed. Never imagined that the property is located on the 5th floor of the building. I arrived at 9 pm and have to ring the bell to get into the apartment building. Breakfast was OK.

It is a good low cost hotel with a very good location for a tourist. On the whole you pay for what you get.The best thing about the room is a balcony,an italian balcony. It is impossible to experience an italian atmosphere without it. In my opinion the things to improve are to get the shared bath properly cleaned and more varied breakfast(at least 3 different types within a week otherwise it becomes difficult to bear).I guess one is to pay more in this case...

The Hotel Domus Mea was wonderful. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The only thing that was even slightly bad was the shower in the single room. It is about the size of a phone booth. Overall, the hotel was great. The location could not have been better for transportation to all of the tourist sites.

The Domus Mea is not 50 Meters from Roma Termini station as written on the webpage however, it is within walkable distance, probably 400 Meters. 5th Floor of an old Building, with a very small and scary old fashion elevator. Anyway at the price offered I would recommend it to anybody for a short stay and I would stay there again myself. Disappointed with the breakfast starting time. 8.00 am starting it is definitely too late for a City Hotel. Should be changed. Regards Robby

everything was fine, except the actual bed that I slept in was really uncomfortable. The pillow and the mattress really need to be replaced, there was no spring in them at all, it was like sleeping on a sack of flour. Luckily it was only for one night! But I have to say the service was excellent and everything else was fine!

I have been to countless hotels but this was the first time that I had to use a call box to get the hotel staff to open the ground floor door. The hotel has an elevator albeit an old-fashioned one - with accordion type primary door and a swing type door to get into the carriage. I was greeted by an amiable man when I got to the front desk and was expecting me. He didn't even wantto see my reservation slip anymore. Anyway, the hotel atmosphere was very homey and room was very clean, too. I returned to the hotel one midday and found a hotel staff cleaning my room - with antiseptics, too! Breakfast as expected was very simple bread, butter, jam and coffee. I have no problem with the type of breakfast but I do hope that they start serving breakfast earlier than 8 a.m. I missed two breakfasts (crucial for a budget traveler like me) because I wanted to start early. I suggest that the hotel leave hot water for coffee or tea in the room. I would go back to the same hotel given another opportunity and would recommend it to friends. The location, especially is very convenient, it is near the main railway station (Termini) but not too near as to hear and feel the rumble of the trains

Very helpful and welcoming staff. Very central and good access to Termini and sites. Rooms very clean, comfortable and lovely view given central location. Very quiet at night. Secure. Good basic breakfast. Older hotel well refurbished. Room was a bit small, but it did have a welcome desk and chair Main problem were last flight of stairs - but staff very happily assisted. Excellent value and would recommend.

The hotel is situated on floors 5 & 6 of a building. The ground floor entrance and ancient elevator were rather uninviting, but once inside the hotel we were warmly welcomed in pleasant surroundings. They serve a fair continental breakfast. There is a pleasant balcony with tables and chairs where we could eat our own light meals. Rooms were clean and adequate size, although not large. The hotel is in a reasonably quiet backstreet where, best of all for us, we could park for free. A good stay. Staff was very helpful and most could speak English.

I stayed in Domus Mea for 5 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. The staff were friendly and helpful and my experience was very enjoyable. I had a single room that consisted of a single bed and a TV, and toilet and shower. The room was more than sufficient for my needs. The hotel is on the 5th floor of a nice secure building, and very close to Termini Station. I was always out exploring so i never had breakfast, but the breakfast room did look lovely. I would definately stay here again as I felt safe, the hotel was definately value for money and the staff very friendly, and really close to the Termini Station.

Great location, especially for a one or two night stay. Probably not ideal for much longer than that but perfectly fine for a short stay. Bathrooms are small but really all you need. Had a great big room with a balcony which was lovely. Being so close to Termini station was extremely handy! Staff were friendly and helpful. I would recommend this place for a short stay if you're not planning to spend much time at the hotel... but why would you? you're in Rome!!

This hotel does pretty much what it says on the tin. The location is great, about 5mins walk from Termini Station. The hotel is on the 5th floor of a residential building but there's a lift. The breakfast is rudimentary, but we weren't charged for it. My wife and I were definitely not happy with the bathroom situation (postage stamp size shared between 3 or 4 rooms!). The landlady was also a bit gruff and didn't speak much English but the two men were more helpful. The room was fine though, clean, reasonably spacious and with a small balcony. Paying with cash is recommended.

Clean beds and rooms. Very little noise from traffic outside. Juste treatment from the employes. The location of the hotel a few block from Statione Termini suited us very well. Negative thing was that on the web page it was written that the rooms had air condition. They had but to use it costed 8 Euros per day.

Have stayed here several times but was very disappointed not to get breakfast. We were given a bag with 2 packets of broken toast, butter, jam and 2 cakes. No cutlery so I don't know how they expected us to spread the butter and jam! No drinks! I am sure we could have been given something to take to our room if they were worried about any noise. Would have reservations about staying here again. It is unfortunate as I have always liked it in the past.

we stayed in a double room without bathroom. There were two rooms sharing the washroom facilities but we did not experience any problems there, although the shower was small and the lights are on timers. Room was about standard size for Europe. There was an air conditioner but at an extra charge of 8 euros. Breakfast was large fresh buns, coffee, juice and sweet buns--typical for Italy. There was an outside balcony available in the public area. All in all location was central and value for Rome was great. Entrance is on the fifth floor and via an ancient elevator. Staff were friendly and helpful.

This is the worst B&B we have ever stayed during our vacation to Europe in the past 4 years. We had a room with private bathroom but the room is so small that you cannot even put a big luggage in. Staff is very unfriendly and air conditioner is NOT included in the $110 EURO rate. The breakfast includes only 2 slices of stale bread/butter and a cup of coffee and we had to check out within 2 days of our stay. Not worth the money. Bad experience

We were advised not to stay in this area as it was "seedy". SORRY, we enjoyed our stay here nad found the staff to be extremely helpful and to go out of their way to provide us with whatever we needed. We walked around the neighbourhood in the evening and founf nothing to be alrmed about. This location is convenient to bus and train connections. The area is undergoing renovations. A market is right outside door in early morning. Would definately recommend it. We had a balconey where we could sit outside and enjoy a peaceful few hours. Lots of places to eat nearby.

I stayed at Hotel Domus in order to catch an early flight out of Rome. Because we was leaving before breakfast, the staff kindly prepared a take-away bag for me. The rooms ARE tiny (double bed, wardrobe and desk), we were just there to sleep. Easy walk to/from the station. Though my wife was a little nervous about walking down the side street that the hotel was on early in the morning, it is a street like any other in Rome. Good value!

This basic hotel was up 5 flights of stairs, or accessed via an ancient lift, which broke down during our overnight stay. Description on website of distance from Termini Station needs correcting - it is more like 200m not 50m from the train station. Nonetheless, well located for travellers coming in by train, and hotel staff recommended an excellent inexpensive trattoria for evening meal. Somewhat overpriced for level of facilities & service.

Would not recommend it to any body. Very sleepy, unwelcoming, indifferent ambience. The hotel is not a 50 metre walk from Termini station as mentioned in Venere.com but a good 300 metres. Absolutely base level rooms where they charge 8 Euros extra for air conditioning. The bathroom which was outside the room was sooo small u cud barely stand or sit. Very shabbily kept. In all not a pleasant stay at all...staff is also quite indifferent and uncooperative. Much over priced than what it is worth. The lift is abs old fashioned and rickety..fits in only two people at a time.

The room was nice but being Rome in July it was hot. I asked for the man at the front to turn on the A/C and he said that it cost 8 euros, and that if I had read the fax that they offered a/c, offered he repeated many times. They had no fans. I asked do you charge to heat the place in the winter? Plus the attendent made a big deal about paying with credit card, which was awkward. The shared bathroom was cramped. On the plus, the room was large, and we had a nice quiet balcony.

Great location - about 500 m from the train station (to find it easier keep in mind that you have to go spiralling inside the block). If you like walking - 20 min to Colosseum and villa Borghese, 40-45 min to Vatican. A metro station neaby. A supermarket next street, a street market 20 m from the hotel and a chinese restorant (not expensive at all) next door. Big and quiet room (we asked for it to face away from the street). Helpful staff. Weaknesses - the shared shower leaked on the floor making a puddle around the toilet no matter how we tried to prevent it and it was not very friendly towards the next customer. The breakfast was rathe uninspiring (a bun, 2 toasts, butter, jam, coffee) and ALWAYS the same. As we stayed there for 5 days it was a little too much. And the maid had a strange habit to throw away things she thought you didn't need - like a small sponge I had for washing my face. But on the whole - it was worth its price (55 euro per night)

For the price we paid, we weren't expecting the Ritz, but we were expecting a little more than we got. The lobby is like some 70-something little old lady's living room, cluttered with plates, figurines and other bric-a-brac. The fact that you have to take a small and rickety elevator up five floors doesn't enhance the experience. Nor does dragging heavy suitcases up another flight to the room. But to be fair, the room was decent-sized, nicely decorated and clean. The bathroom was also clean and well-maintained. Of course, since it was warm and the air conditioner wasn't turned on, we had to keep the windows open and there's a lively nightlife outside the window till all hours. The breakfast was not really worthy of the name, consisting of one large roll, one package of toast, one pat of butter, one package of jam and coffee. Compared to the excellent and substantial breakfasts we had elsewhere during the trip, a real disappointment. But if you don't eat breakfast anyway, that shouldn't bother you. I won't mention the clerk who yelled at us for pushing the bell too many times when we came in late at night. We didn't know it rang every time we pushed it, but he did have a point about us waking people up, however unintentionally. And he did apologize after we explaned to him. Overall, if this is the best you can afford, it's not too bad. But I'd recommend if you can spend 20 0r 30 more euro to get yourself a three-star hotel.

The place was quaint, had a cute small private balcony. The only thing missing was a private bathroom; however, we knew that the room had a shared bathroom. Oh, and the breakfast was very simple tea/coffe and one toast with jam. The hotel was conviniently located close to the train station and public transportation.

If you look for a hotel near everything and don't have to have much luxury then this is a good hotel for you. The staff is very nice, the rooms are ok. The bad things: Dirty coffeecups and glases. The hotel is on the 5th floor and it is a very scary elevator. Only fits 3 people and you really feel klaustrofobic in it. Very scary! AC costs 8 euro EXTRA per day and you will need it! The staff turns it of when you leave the room though, but it chilles down pretty fast. You have a nice pizza restaurang next door so you don't have go far for food. Very close to the termini station. I don't think any of my travelpartners would stay here again, mostly for the elevator and the bad cleaning (dishes).

Welcoming was very poor since we arrived little earlier than check-in time. Instead of understanding that we have arrived after long travelling, she shouted that I am expecting the room to be available. Then she calmed down and helped to keep the luggage till check-in time. Then all days it was good. The air conditioning was poor.
