About Hotel Dolomiti

reception Hotel Dolomiti reception The recently renovated Hotel Dolomiti is ideally located in the centre of Rome, very close to both the Termini railway station and the Castro Pretorio underground station.

The hotel is therefore well connected to the rest of the city, yet most of Rome's most important sights and monuments, such as the beautiful Trevi Fountain and the Spanish Steps, lie within comfortable walking distance.

The finely furnished and fully airconditioned structure offers a pleasant and warm atmosphere.

Our room was very nice and the shower was very refreshing. The location was slighly out of the centre but this was a welcome relief after a day fighting the crowds. The breakfast was very tasty.

We wre given room on the first floow street-side near the breakfast room. It was very noisy in the night time from the street and starting from 6 a.m. we were listening the breakfast preparation -:( The receptionist did not speak English. I heard that italians first give you the worst room they have. We were so tired from the trip and I forgot about this manner of Italian hospitality...

The hotel is very centrally located and very clean. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the free breakfast provided a good start to the day. If it want for the fact that my camera and sunglasses went missing, I would have no problem recommending this hotel. My case hadn't left my side from the time I left home until the time I checked into the hotel late in the evening. When I couldn't find neither my sunnies or my camera on my return from breakfast, I thought I'd forgotten to pack them. When I returned home and the items weren't sitting forlornly on my bed, I realised they could only have been taken from my hotel room. (To date, I haven't had any response to my emails to the hotel asking if the items had been "found".) My advice to anyone staying there is to keep all your valuables very close, even if you're only leaving your room for a short time.

Really nice hotel with a good quality/price rate really close to Termini Station and to the metro. The room was small but clean and the breakfast ok. We had only one problem one evening with the water in the bathroom because of a failure of the heating system

Conveniently located, but I found the staff to be very indifferent. Don't bother with the elevator, as it stops at the landings BETWEEN floors rather on the floor itself. My room was small, and though I didn't expect it to be spacious, I would have thought the window would open out to something OTHER than the balcony by the janitor's closet. The breakfast was adequate, but the staff at breakfast were indifferent as well. I stayed at another location closer to Termini for less, and it proved to be a better location.

The hotel is very conveninently located near a subway station (2 min walk) and 10 min walk to Termini central station. It will take you 15 minutes to get to the Vatican by subway (direct line), 10 minutes to the Roman forum. Also there are alot of buses that can be taken from the city and leave you at Termini. The hotel was very clean, The staff was great. The rooms are small in size, especially the bathrooms where the shower cabin would pose serious problems to a plump person (or atleast the room I stayed in). But I understand that almost all hotels are like this with small rooms(the ones in this price category).

This hotel was exactly what we were after, it is close to the central bus/train/tube station and about 5 minute walk from EnjoyRome, the English tourist information centre. The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful recommending places to eat. Also offered to take our luggage until our transfer out to the airport as we had to check out 3 hours before our transfer. The hotel is right on the main road so you do hear cars, but its not that bad. The room was just as we wanted, a bed and an en-suite which is all we needed, and it was spotlessly clean each day. I would recommend this hotle to anyone looking for a simple place to stay and reasonable in price.

I had a wonderful stay at hotel Dolomiti. The staff was very helpful, especially Daniel. He went out of his way to help us. We also witnessed him going above and beyond to help fellow guests who had troubles getting around. His advise was always very sincere, honest and very helpful. The breakfast ladies were also nice enough to pack us a morning breakfast to go for the morning we flew out, as we were leaving before the breakfast service. The service was more than we could ever ask for.

The hotel was definitely a good choice. The employées were really very kind and breakfast was very good. The rooms were quite small - frequently usual for this rate - but very clean. The closer tube station was just 'round the corner, and the main train station, Termini, was five minutes walking. I also have to tell this: When I left my room I forgot some money and my train tickets in the safe. When I came back to the hotel a few hours later to take my baggage, the employées told me they had found something in the safe while cleaning the room for the next guests, and they gave me back everything I had forgotten. This may seem normal, but, trust me, you will not find many people so aboveboard. Very honest employées! I would definitely return to this hotel.

Hotel was as discribed and very good alround. Only issue was size of the room (basically a double with the extra bed to make it a triple) and the Euro 24 extra per night to have the car garage parked. Hopefully the road works outside are now finished and street parking is available. Recommended for anyone in town for a few nights and very easy to see the sightsas metro is less than 5 minutes away.

Hotel is typical Italian type hotel -- 3 hotels in the same building. Hotel currently undergoing some renovation -- however the floor we were located (4th) - still hadn't received it's facelift yet. Elevator extremely small (1-person and 1 large bag only). Hotel boasts soundproof windows however the noise from the hallway from fellow guests was annoying. While close to the main Termini station -- area questionable at night for tourists with families - many homeless in area (saw two elderly women cooking what looked to be pidgeon in a homemade grill on the streets outside hotel).

We were most impressed with the quality of the Dolomiti, the staff, and the attention to detail that the housekeeping staff employed. Excellent. The location, while not in the center of the tourist areas, provides easy access to Termini and is right on the "Linea B" of the Metropolitana.

This is lovely hotel and my partner and I were pleasantly surprised that all the pictures online matched the reality. The staff are all very helpful. Three hotels occupy the building so the amount of public space within the hotel is small. The rooms are well maintained, the ample continental breakfast is included in the price, the front door is open 24 hours a day and and all the staff are pleasant. The lift is a bit slow. The hotel's location is superb being positioned between two metro stations - Castro Pretorio and Termini. The latter metro station is at the main railway station of Rome. I actually chose the hotel because of the price but found that it's location in Rome was so good that I couldn't have made a better choice. It was perfect for our short break holiday to the city.

We stayed there for the last-night-before-leaving-Rome and the place was very good! It is withint the walking distance to Termini station, plus a metro station is really close. The hotel is reception is at floor 1, our room was on floor 4. The elevator is not very impressive, but it works. The reception guy was very helpful and would even help us with printing out the boarding passes for the flight back home.

Rooms were clean, nicely air conditioned and big for European standards. Staff was very helpful. We left Rome for a few days and toured the countryside by motorcycle. The staff allowed us to leave our bags, locking them in a empty room until we returned. Well located with a grocery just across the street, walking distance from the train station, and many street cafes and bars in the area. English speaking, very helpful, had a very comfortable experience and would readily stay there again when we return to Rome.

This was our first trip to Europe. We stayed in Paris and Switzerland before arriving in Rome. The hotel was clean and the staff were English speaking and very friendly. The hotel room was a typical European room (not hugely spacious) but acceptable. By looking at the map that was provided with our booking we attempted to walk to the hotel from the main train station. The hotel was easy to find and we managed well but it helped to have wheels on our suitcases. I would not attempt this if you have to carry heavy luggage or have lots of it or small children who need help. The breakfast that was included was better than some other hotels we stayed at (nice breakfast room also). It included mostly buns and pastries, yogurt, cereal, fruit, and great capaccino! Again the staff were very friendly and provided great customer service. We would definitely recommend this hotel to others for the price and value.

Dolomiti had class and quality (rooms with high ceilings, premium interior finishing), but it gets docked a few notches automatically because it charged extra for wireless Internet. There was nothing to indicate that WiFi would be an extra service, and there is no justification for trying ro reap an extra margin on something that is available free almost everywhere else (yes, even in southern Europe). Breakfast was disappointing, even by Italian standards. The bowls for corn flakes )the only item that was not essentially pure sugar or refined flour) measured about 100 ml (1/3 cup). Not that one would want to eat only a Contimnental breakfast at a hotel before a day of walking the seven hills, but some details could be better thought through. Otherwise Dolomiti could be a first-class place that would prompt no grumbles at all. Then again, my wife says that hotels have to throw in some oddball features, otherwise life on the road would feel too much like home.

Hotel Dolomiti provided a wonderful, restful, stay for 2 adults, and 2 grown children in a quad room - which was very clean, and enough room for the 4 of us. This hotel has a good location and the staff are nice. We had a car and decent parking was available around the corner. The breakfast wasn't fantastic but we weren't there for that reason. There are a few decent restaurants close by and supermarkets also, which is good when traveling with very young children. A few minor issues for people with disabilities or those with limited mobility. The hotel is situated in a building with other hotels. The lift does not go to all floors so you may have to walk up a flight of stairs. We were happy and would stay there again.

This hotel offers a good quality stay to a reasonable price as a mid range standard hotel. It is newly refurbished and offers elegance and style in the way Italians are so good at with simple meens; it looks classy. As it is situated in the vicinity of the Termini Station it is easy to find and quiet despite being so centrally located. Staff was above average friendly and serviceminded. To the downside was the spaciousness of my single room and the fact that you had to press a door bell to enter the floor of the rooms which was on another floor than the reception. But overall it was good quality for money. I would recomend it for shorter stays particularly for young singles or couples due the small rooms and central location.

The staff are courteous, rooms are clean & tidy and the location is good. Termini is just a few minutes walk away, there are departmental stores close by, an ATM opposite the hotel and almost all the staff speak English. Cold breakfast is served from 7:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. and is good, the dining area is small but cosy and well presented. The bathroom is small (especially the shower) but clean and tidy. The pictures on the website are accurate, so they set the expectation correctly.

Recommended. We would definitely stay again. We have used Venere many times for many European cities and never been disappointed. We stayed Hotel Dolomiti, Rome, Sunday-Friday in February. The Hotel is located in a building which is actually sub-divided into several Hotels. Our triple room (3 singles) at Hotel Dolomiti was on the front of the building facing the road. It was modern, well furnished and extremely clean - room service provided daily. Room had nice en-suite shower room. Minibar (fridge) with sensible prices (though still cheaper at the supermarket over the road). Outstanding service. Reception Staff speak good English and gave good directions to bus/metro services etc. Breakfast, which is included, was basic but perfectly good - self-serve fresh bread rolls, coffee, tea, pastries, ham, pre-packed sliced cheese (ooh er!) and jam etc. Cocopops and Cornflakes. Every day the same, but at these prices you can't complain! The breakfast room is very small but clean and comfortable. The Hotel has no lounge (unless you count the one sofa and bar in the breakfast room). They have PC with internet access for guests (first 10 minutes free, but they didn't really seem to be monitoring it). The only downside was traffic noise, but to be perfectly honest if you don't like traffic noise then go somewhere other than Rome! We concluded that at least 50% of Rome's population are employed in the police and they all go everywhere with sirens sounding! The room was double glazed and had air conditioning, so there was no reason to open the window. As long as window kept shut the noise was not disturbing. This really is not a criticism of Hotel Dolomiti just a comment about Rome! The Hotel is well located, walking distance (even with luggage) from the train station. Even closer to Metro station Castro Pretorio and several major bus routes pass right by the door. You could pay very much more without getting better location, better service or bigger or cleaner room

The staff was very friendly and accommodating. Dolomiti is a small hotel, upstairs and a few blocks from the main train station on a major road. The area is somewhat commercial with foreign embassies. Lots of small local restaurants on the side streets and a major grocery store down the block. The 492 bus stops in front of the hotel -- this is an excellent bus to take through the heart of Rome all the way to the Vatican. I enjoyed my stay very much, an excellent value for money with friendly people in convenient location for tourists.

This hotel is a creepy one in facilities and furniture. The room they gave to me was incredibly tiny, with a bed that at first I thought to be a coach. The window was a small slotin the wall looking to an innard cubicle. I felt like a Guantanamo prisoner. By the way, the baggage storage room is a corner in the breakfast room. Also, the hotel is strange, located in a building in which different floors are different hotels. Definitely, pay 20€ more and stay in another place.

The location regarding train and subway was good, and important for a tourist. The cleening of the stairs was not good, and the conditions of the hall, stairs and surroundings was not good. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay while in Rome. The staff was most courteous and helpful providing additional pillows on request and even loaned us an AC adaptor which we had forgotten to bring along. Breakfast was terrific each morning and the serving staff most pleasant. The location is reasonably close to the train station (about a 10 min walk away) and a pharmacy is located just across the street which came in handy. The only drawback is the elevator which stops only between floors making it a bit difficult when transporting luggage - a small inconvenience though for an otherwise great hotel choice.

Good location. Basic but good, tidy and compared very well to other hotels in a similar price range and star rating around Italy during our travels. The morning staff for breakfast couldn't do enough for you, they were especially lovely people. Internet was free for the first 10 minutes but they didn't really police this, as long as there was no one waiting. Room safe was free. Hotel entry is secure both to reception and to rooms. Air conditioning worked well and was unlimited. Windows are double glazed so even though we had a main street room there was no noise. No curfew. Reception manned 24 hours. Good distance from Termini station, only a block or two away, far enough to be away from the noisy and 'seedier' elements around this area but walking distance to metro and termini. We would happily stay here again.

The hotel was 'functional'. The rooms were very clean, as was the hotel in general, but they were tiny. The building which the hotel shared was really grotty, with electric wires exposed on the wall. The lift was tiny and very slow. The breakfast wasn't great, the orange juice wasn't fresh and it was a very basic continental on offer. For me though the most disappointing thing was the area around the hotel, for the money we paid I expected better. Friends of mine stayed in a lovely hotel which cost the same as the Dolimiti, it was near the spanish steps, which was surrounded by lovely bars and restaurants. We went out around this area every night, so if I went back this is where I'd stay.

Overall we were pleased with the hotel. But we should have made a direct reservation as the price was cheaper.

Rome is expensive so we had to make a compromise between what we wanted and what we were willing to pay. Hotel Dolomiti was a good compromise. It is in the Stazione Termini area which can be a bit dodgy, but this is on the outskirts of the Termini area, so not too close to the station. The hotel is a family run place, and very friendly. The rooms and common areas are spotlessly clean. There are only two drawbacks to this hotel. One is the lift (elevator) is small and will only fit 3 people or 2 with luggage, on one occasion we had to wait more than 10 minutes before we were able to get in. The lift also does not stop at the floor you need, but between floors, so you have to carry your bags up or down half a flight of stairs. The second drawback is noise, particularly in the mornings. The hotel hallways and rooms have tiled floors, which makes it much more noisy than if it were carpeted. In the morning guests get up and start talking in the hallways and the cleaning staff also start banging around and chatting. The noise makes it pretty much impossible to sleep in unless you are a very heavy sleeper or you invest in a pair of earplugs. However, if you're looking in this price range I think the negatives mentioned shouldn't put you off. Just buy some earplugs if you like to sleep late.

Small room, but very clean and nice. Some noise from outside because of repair work.

Hotel Dolemiti provided the necessities. Our room was very clean, the air conditioning worked well, the continental breakfast was adequate and we were very close to the metro. However the rooms were smaller than we were accustomed to and the elevator was tiny (claustrobics beware!!!!)

A very good quality hotel for the price. We just stayed for one day on our return way, but we had a comfortable stay. The room was very clean and turned out to be even larger than we expected (but the bathroom was rather narrow). The hotel is split on two floors: reception and public areas on 2nd floor; rooms are on 4th floor. We could not have much water in the bath tub. Public areas are rather minimal as well as breakfast: a continental buffet is served but standard quality (do not expect specials). The hotel is well connected: quite close to the metro (castro pretorio) and within walking distance from Termini railway station. In all: we would definitely recommend this hotel to anybody looking for essential accomodation in Rome, i.e. those who consider that clean rooms, quietness, and good connection with public transportations are most important.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Dolomiti in early May 2007 for four days. The Hotel was extremely clean, the continental breakfast was wonderful, the staff was helpful and friendly, and the location is near stops for both the A and B train lines. We would return, assuming the rates continue to be as reasonable.

In the building there were more hotels situated. Our hotel was very quiet. In another hotel a group of young people were very noisy. The left after two nights. The first two nights we sleep not mutch, but it was no blame for our hotel. Breakfast was oke.

Our stay at this hotel was very pleasant. The staff is very nice and helpful--very interested in their guests comfort and with providing customer service. The neighborhood itself is not that interesting, but it is very conveniently located near metro and Termini train station. The room was comfortable and clean and breakfast was included in price. I was surprised to find such great value for a place in Rome. I would definitely stay here again.

Everything was ok with our stay, except two things. We had two triple rooms and one single. One triple was a real triple, spacious. The other was actually a double with a third bed added, so it was narrow, but the price was the same! We asked the reception to book a mini-van taxi for the run back to the airport: the driver asked us 70 E for a 7 seats van. But on arrival we had taxis at the airport for 30 E each (4 seats)! so do not book at the hotel reception, but agree your run back directly with the taxi company on arrival.

We were most happy with this hotel. We found it to be very clean, the staff were friendly and helpful, and it's very close to the Metro stop and the Rome central train station. Breakfast was good, cereal, breads, cheese, juice, and coffee. Seemed to be pretty typical. We would stay there again, no question about that. We'd give it a strong thumbs up!

We were a group of 6 people on our trip to Rome, and we knew that hotels are expensive there. Nevertheless we were a little surprised that the rooms were so small. The walls are clairaudient, so having a quiet evening/night is depending on your neighbours. Everything else was great and as described on the pages. Staff are very friendly and seem competent, rooms are very clean and look recently renovated.

This Hotel is excellent, it is very convenient to all locations in Rome,ie Metro, Railway stations and restaurants. The staff were very helpful in all regards, they even gave us a location of a very good and not expensive restaurent, which was very helpful and they even gave us a breakfast to when we were leaving early one morning, overall we found it very good value for money

It was nicer inside than it looked from the outside. One good feature was nearness to the train station and there were a couple of reasonable restaurants in the vicinity. It was surprisingly quiet.

Hotel setup was interesting in that more than one hotel share the same building. Registration for Dolomiti was on second floor and our rooms were on fourth floor (third floor was another hotel), so there were stairs to climb with luggage. Shower was small but had shower doors. Rooms faced courtyard so street noise was minimal. Overall stay was satisfactory.

Lovely place and people, very helpful. Excellent service. Only grouse is if you leave your window open at night, it can get quite noisy (from the people and cars on the street below) but i suppose it cannot be helped if you stay in a property on the main street. Very convenient, just 2mins away from Metro station and 15mins from Termini.

The hotel is decent. The Italian staff has the Italian attitude so their service wasnt very good. They dont believe in customer service and easily frustrated if there is a mis-communication or you need them to repeat something. The hotel is clean, the amenities provided is good and it gives you a feeling of eloquence. However, room service is not available at night and some of the rooms is next to the street so you can hear cars going by. they offer a free breakfast. You must give your keys to front desk before you leave and when you come back, you have to request it. There are two types of room, one of them own by Dolomiti and other one shared with the other hotel. The other hotels room looks more eloquent. I would recommend this hotel for travelers. They turned on the heater at night so it wasnt very cold. Its prestigious.

We were pleasantly surprised. Although the rooom was small, it was well furnished and it was a relief to have 4 single beds after a very long flight. The bathroom seemed newly renovated, it was very clean. We walked everywhere from the hotel - the only exception was we took the subway when we visited the Vatican. I highly recommend it.

When we first arrived we were greeted by name, as they must have been expecting us. I asked to see the room and it looked very clean. The view from the window was into an old, somewhat dirty courtyard, but this was not a priority for us as we were only staying one night before flying out in the morning. Getting to the hotel was easy using the map from the Venere.com website. The neighborhood itself was somewhat unsavory, in my opinion, but there were police positioned on each block along the way. The location was convenient for using the train station and for taking buses from there as well. I would not want to stay there more than one night because I didn't feel perfectly safe in that neighborhood, but for the one night we needed it, it was fine. I would not highly recommend it because of the neighborhood, though inside it was clean and seemingly safe.

The hotel was fine, the rooms very nice and clean. We stayed here mainly for the location as it was so close to Termini station. If I went back to Rome I would probably try to stay somewhere closer to town. The breakfast was ok but not fantastic. Steer clear of the coffee and ask for an expresso from the machine downstairs.

It was the first time at dolomiti. I don't regret it. 10 minutes from termini, bus and metro. a good location. the outside of the building is ordinary but the rooms have been completely renovated. It was quiet. I will recommand this hotel because the price was fair and the relation between price and quality is good for rome

This hotel is nice and close to the main train station. The room was nice and quiet as we were not on the steet side of the building. The location is a little confusing as the hotel appears to own a few of the floors in the building along with other hotels so shared areas such as lifts (don't work) and the main entrance way at the street level looks very rough. Once you are inside however it is nice and comfortable. The only negative was a young staff member (or possibly the owner) who came into our room while we were sleeping even though we had the do not disturb sign out. As we had flown 24 hrs to get to Rome being woken up by this large & loud woman was not much fun.

It was hard to find given the directions from Termini station, got lost but ended up finding the hotel which wasn't mark very well, Mario the receptionist was very helpful and the other older gentlemen was ok but couldn't speak much english. Overall the hotel was nice and clean and the airconditioner worked well in our room the toilet was a little tempermental but after learning how it worked it was ok. The breakfast was good but simple and the server was nice, our room looked like it was newly remodeled and was nice, although the bathroom was kind of small, we would stay there again.
