Nice, clean room, very central, most of the famous landmarks are within the walking distance. It was quiet in the night, the price 35 EUR a night was a very good deal. The bed was a bit smaller than I expected, but overall I am satisfied with this hotel and do recommend it.

After flying from the States and having jet lag, we would have liked to have a quiet night. Instead we had to listen to a maintenance man hammering, pushing heavy objects around, talking loud, etc. In addition, the lady in the next room had her TV blaring at 3:00 a.m. Also, the shower had no wall separating it from the bathroom so the water ran all over the floor. Wall tiles were missing. The desk personnel had no interest in our checking in or checking out.

I very much enjoyed my stay. The hotel was suprisingly nicer than on the photos (usually it's the other way around). The hotel was very close to everything I wanted to see in Rome; I didn't need to use public transport at all. The staff was very kind. The only thing I didn't like was the fact that I had to pay for internet (per hour) and it wasn't even working properly. Furthermore the room was clean and the staff was very nice and helpfull; I arrived really early and altough I wasn't supposed to get my room untill 2pm they gave me the room when I got there. Booking on venere was a good choice aswell and I will deffinately book a hotel on this website again. Thank you very much for the great expierence.

I arrived late, everything was closed, I was leaving the next day at 7:20 on Sunday morning and everything is closed on Sunday until 8:00. I asked for a shower gel and toothpaste in my room because there was only one small bar of soap and a shampoo (the shampoo was only one, so I could not reuse it the next day) and they told me they did not have it. I said that I would have paid for them but I did not receive them anyway. At 5 in the morning, I went out in search of an open pharmacy, and the night staff told me that in Termini there was a store open 24 hours. Termini at that time is not a very safe place (staff suggested to me to take breakfast in the hotel at that time, I realized later, why). I walked for 40 minutes looking for this place opened, I found the store but this place is open every day at 6:00. So I went back to the hotel because it was too cold and I waited 30 minutes before come back. I finally bought the toothpaste, shower gel and conditioner. I had a 13 hours trip after the overnight stay, and I WANTED TO DO THE SHOWER AND CLEAN MY TEETH. I paid 40 Euro for one night, no breakfast and I was going to suffocate in a very small room, it seems to live in the Alice in Wonderland, too small. Finally, there were ants in my room, I could hear the breath of my neighbors, not to mention the noise of the street, and whenever I need a little cold air I pushed the power button of an aircraft, for to take off ....a crazy noise!

I had to stay only one night in Rome, close to the train station, and I was looking for a cheap solution. This hotel was what I needed.. obviously, is not a first class hotel, but I only needed a bed and a shower (even if the shower was the whole toilet itseff!!!)

Everything is within walking distance. Very easy go to the beach by train (costs only 1 euro/one way). Good looking reception although rooms look very old and basic (like room in USSR hotel). Many times we saw bugs in the rooms, but rooms are clean. Probably bugs are from restaurant which is on the first floor. If your room has window into the inner yard then the smell will be awful because of restaurant I mentioned before. It was very hot in the rooms (end of August and beginning of September), no A/C.

Very small and stuffy room with no air-condition. The room was noisy with an open (or closed) window and the toilet and shower where not very clean. The location is excellent but you can find better hotels on the same street for better value (e.g. Hotel Contilia where we stayed another night for the same price). You can easily walk to the big attractions in Rome or take the public transport from Termini (e.g. bus H to Trastevere, which is a bit far for walking but very nice for dinner). There are also good restaurants close to the hotel. The personal were helpful when asked but did not speak great english.

I stayed at Hotel Terni at the beginning and end of my vacation in Italy. I was surprised to find that the hotel is actually a group of hotels, and I technically didn't stay at the hotel Terni either night- rather, I ended up in one of the floors with a different hotel name but operated by the same people. Even so, both nights were comfortable, the rooms were clean (the one bedroom with private WC is totally worth the few extra euro) and the staff was helpful. The location can't be beat, especially if you have to catch an early train the next morning.

March 2011 55€/night Pro: Location is great, 2 minutes from Termini (train terminal), lots of restaurants around the hotel for all prices. Grocery store 2 blocks away near Santa Maria Maggiore. The room and towels were very clean. Cons: Tram right outside in the street, very noisy when it passes, bring your ear plugs. There was a sewer odor emanating from the bathroom. The shower is integrated in the restroom wall so the whole room "IS" the shower, you need to dry the toilet and all once you're done.See picture... No Internet.

Overall we enjoyed our stay in this hotel. We have been to Rome already few times and this was the first time in this hotel. If I would go to Rome another time, would definetely stay in Terni. We would recommend this hotel for young couples, who preffer to walk all the time, instead of sitting in the rooms. The cleanliness in the hotel is good, towels were changed every day, shower gels added also daily. We didn't take breakfast, as found nearby supermarket. St.Maria Maggiory church is 100m from the hotel, Termini station 50m, so you could take Metro to the Vatican and from/to airports (we came from Fiumincino), Colloseo 15min walk. Some Chine restaurnats also not far from the hotel, many souvenirs shops with cheaper price than in the center. Staff speak English good. The only disadvantage is thin walls, so if someone is talking in the coridor at night you can hear that.

Excellent location, 100 meters from Termini station. One of the cheapest proper hotels in Rome, sufficiently clean, with pleasant staff. The rooms are clean, but there is a noise from the street, especially from passing trams. The bathrooms in cheapest rooms are very small, but you can still take a comfortable shower in it. This was my second time staying in Rome, and I would have to say that both times I found great hotles. Terni is in a great location being just a two minute walk from the Termini train station where all the buses and the metro pass. It's also in a great location to walk to practically anywhere. The hotel is nice inside, and my room was perfect. A friend of mine visited Rome the same weekend paying the same amount as me, but she stayed in a hostel. Terni was definitely the way to go. It was perfect for my needs.

My husband and I were using this hotel one night before catching an early flight. We stayed in a basic room (cheapest). The bed was fine, room fine for something cheap, but the bath was ridiculous! It was a small closet complete with bidet, toilet, sink, and "shower" (photo on website). Fortunately, we didn't plan on showering anyway since our flight was so early. The room was very loud as well. I didn't sleep well even with earplugs. Reception was accommodating, reserved a taxi for us the next morning (the taxi was early!). If you are a very heavy sleeper, then I would recommend this for quick stays.

The room was very nice and clean and even if we stayed only 3 days, the towels were changed every day and they cleaned the room every day. I think this is the best price and where the services provided are better then the price. If I'll came back in Rome(and certainly I do), I would like to stay again there. :) The only drawback was the noise of the hotel; the hotel walls are very thin (you can hear the people from the next room what they are talking about without any problem).

The hotel is in an old building with a quaint old type lift. The room was quite clean but very tired with damp patches on the ceiling. There was no air conditioning but a fan was provided, which was used because we couldnt have the window open as the window opened out on to a main street, the double glazed window did stop all sound though. The combined toilet shower neede a complete renovation and the bottom of the door had rotted away and needed replacing. We knew roughly the type of place we were going into because of the price but the bed was clean and that was what we really only wanted for the one night before travelling home and it is very near the Termini station

We've been 3 days in this hotel. Price/day 60 €. The room was basic, that means that the bathroom has no shower tray, nor shower curtain. It's just a hole in the floor for the water and the shower head is fixed in the middle of the bathroom. So, when you have a shower, all the bathroom gets completely wet. You have to move everything out from the bathroom (toilet paper, etc). The room was small and old, but correct. The corridor to our room smelled really bad, always. The conclusion is that the price is high for this hotel. You can get better places for the same price, also near Termini. I don't recommend this place.

The price is nice and location is excellent, near the metro station Termini 5 min walk. Easy to get from airoport. But during our stay (10 days) our bedclothes were changed only two times. Sometimes towels weren't changed and the cleaner sometimes forgot to put new shampoos and shower gels. Speaking about shower, it was awful in double basic room. The shower was over the toilet in the same place and there was no shower cabin! Speaking about the staff, it was very polite and spoke english. We(my 16yr old daughter and I) stayed here in the height of a hot week in Rome. I knew when I booked that this was a bare bones place. First the positives. Great location, terrific friendly competent staff, great neighborhood for being near termini,(internet cafes-cheap, laundry, restaurants) felt safe, good hotel security and hot water. The bathrooms are tiny and old. Photos were accurate on website. The negatives, Very noisy! That goes with selecting places like this but the trams go by every 10 minutes and sound like a jet taking off! We managed but didn't sleep well. The restaurant under the hotel closes around 11pm so if you are expecting to get to bed early, you won't. You will enjoy the accordion players serenading you in the evening! We stayed at hostels and other two stars during our trip-this one could use some updating. I will admit that Terni represents itself honestly on the web so what you see is what you get. There are alot of places on this road to stay but I doubt that they are much better if you are looking at a two star place. The biggest selling points are the staff and the location.

Excellent- arrived after midnight and so easy to get to - 2 minutes from the station, very easy to find, safe clean neighborhood (the right side of the tracks!). Bathrom in room was good. Bed was really comfortable and I slept well--except it was noisy outside, being near a tram and train line. AFter checking out, was able to leave my luggage for the day and collect it 15 minutes before my train- thank you! So overall very nice stay. Convenient clean and comfortable.

we arrived later in the evening and highly appriciated the location so close to Termini and 24-hrs reception. Although just as in the neighbourhood of every bigger railway station, a bit strange people in the streets at night: we met quite a few pretty noisy trans/hookers on our waý to the place. Elevator didn't work so we had to climb up to the first floor by foot. Room was small but nice, with high ceiling and small completely renovated bathroom - very nice. We reserved a triple and got a double with extra bed, but we didn't complain. Very hot in the night, the fan helped just a bit and we still needed to keep the window open - the street under really is very noisy. If you are sensitive to this, you probably won't get much sleep. There is a plenty of possibilities for a refreshment and something small to eat just around the corner (caffeteria, pizzeria). We could leave the baggage at the reception next day, this helped us a lot. The overall experience is positive.

*** Evaluation in English (italian hereunder) *** Description of our stay in the Hotel Terni: - Booking via “venere.com” did work just fine - We were 4 persons (a family of 2 adults and 2 kids) and rent 2 double rooms - Between July 04 and July 09, 2010 Here our short evaluation. List of positive points: - We booked for late arrival and we were well received after midnight - During our stay, towels have been replaced daily with clean ones - Bedsheets have been replaced once - During July in Rome, temperature is quite high (approximately 34°C - 93.2°F), fortunately, both rooms were equipped with fans which help bear this heat - Conveniently positioned nearby the train, bus and subway stations - Many restaurants in the hotel area - In general well located in the city of Rome - Nice people at the reception - Both rooms were equipped with showers and restrooms, desk with chair, wardrobe, phone and TV set (no air conditioning, but this was known from the beginning) - Hotel entry door secured - Last day they kept our luggage in their baggage room free of charge Just one negative point: - For one night we had for more than 13 hours mains shortage. This mean no light, therefore no shower and even worse no fans. The reception team not only didn't spontaneously propose any arrangement and when we did ask for it, they claim it was not their problem and for a refund we should look with the local electricity company (!?). After a too long discussion, finally they agreed for a little compensation. Pity. As Terni is 2* hotel, we did not expect much and if you compare this with average 4* hotel you definitely will find why it is so. From positive side, hotel´s location is great and if you have limited budget, then I would recommend it. As several people here have mentioned noise from street during nights, it was nothing we could not stand. From negative side, if upstairs neighbours took shower, some of water was leaking from our bathroom´s ceiling and looking up you would find that this was not new thing.

Great location, right around the corner from the Termini, barely 2 minutes walking. Place was clean and friendly, though the basic rooms are quite small and lack proper cooling (A desk fan). Overall, however, for what we paid it suited us perfectly!

We stayed in a double room which was ok. It was clean and the staff gave us toilet papers, towels, and soap. Shared bathroom is very clean and we could bathe in warm water every day. Staff was very friendly they let us leave our baggages free of charge until our departure. Location is very good.Room was noisy because of the proximity of Termini. Nearby dining facilities were very good, except for a kebab restaurant on the opposite side of the street where they overpriced our order which was also uneatable. We would advise everybody not to go near there!!!!!

I have booked a double room shared bathroom and when i arrive at the hotel the service give me a room so small with 2 single beds and external bathroom 40m away from the room. I think that i booked a room at a hotel and no at a hostel. After all that,i had to change the room to a superior and i paid an extra paymanent for this change.

The basic triple in a two star hotel was better than I expected- television and a high room was quite ok. Perhaps due to Easter the price was on high side for a two star hotel. The location is excellent. Even on a rainy day You have walking possibilities inside Ternini railway station nearby.

The hotel was nice. we didnt stay in the room to much. The room is large enough for two persons. The shower is a bit small. The only real disadvantage is that the beds are not that comfortable. beside that it was ok. but for 38 Euro for a couple its worth it.

The only problem I had with this location was the noise from my radiator (which ticked constantly - loud enough to wake me and not let me go back to sleep) and also neighbours who blared their tv's - coupled with very thin walls - as in, I could hear them sneeze in the room next to me! To date, I have given every accommodation I've stayed in a full 10/10 and this place would have been no exception as the location was perfect and the room was great, etc. but the noise! I was exhausted for my entire stay. I wasn't asked how my stay was when I checked out as I would have informed them of the radiator and the thin walls - as there is someone on reception 24 hours, someone should have approached my neighbours for the noise as our rooms were near reception and i'm sure it could definitely be heard there too. As for the radiators, i'm positive this must have been brought to their attention before, the noise was that annoying. The room was very warm but i'd have rather a a cold room with no radiator than that ticking!!(also, am from Ireland, not sure why it's saying USA beside my initials).

For 30E per night right next to Termini train station, you can't beat this hotel. The accommodation is very basic and old but perfectly functional. Price vs. quality is excellent and hardly any noise from the street. As long as you don't mind things rough around the edges, it's great.

Biggest plus with this hotel was the location which is just 2 blocks from the Central RR Station and close to restaurants etc. The price was right and the location was right. It was extremely noisey. All else was acceptable for an old building and a basic room, which is what we requested. This was our first time at the Terni which is part of the Dina hotel. We have stayed in the area many times and most of the old hotels that take up one floor of an old building are similar. Some with smaller rooms but nicer decor, but all have noise challenges even when the room faces the inside court as the walls are thin and the doors slam at all hours. It is Rome in this area unless you wish to pay a great deal more.

Very convenient, near the Termini station/subway, coin laundry, super market, bars, restaurants. The price is reasonable and the hotel is quiet and safe enough. This hotel fits my purpose to stay cheaply for only sleep and to spend money for sightseeing. I've been to Rome twice. I enjoyed staying for 4 nights this time. It is a little difficult to find the hotel.

For the price i was paying, EU$70, i was expecting a better b&b. The location was great, and from previous reviews we are well-informed that we should go in by Hotel Dinah. But still, if they want to go by the name 'Terni', they should do something about their signage. The size of the toilet was puny! Water was always splashing out of the door while showering despite only a single person was using at the same time. Sinks do not have sink covers, allowing cockroaches to run out of the sink. Toilet is really run down, and i can't wait to get out. If i can avoid showering, i would. The cleanliness of the bedroom, however, is passable. Close to what i expect. Be careful of noisy diners opposite the street though. My fiancee and i were kept pretty much awake for the first night from the noise. Thank god we had earplugs from the flight. Although my fiancee was unaffected, i was pretty much bitten stung by mosquitoes on the first night too. Probably because of the ever going construction going on beside the b&b. They start work as early as 730 am, so if u r expecting to sleep in during your trip, i would advise u to stay away from this hotel.

I was pleasantly surprised by my stay at Hotel Terni. The ensuite was very nice, clean and more then adequate. The room was very clean. The TV had two english stations (BBC and CNN) and while there was no air conditioning, the ceiling fan did the job. The location was great, one block from Termini and from there, transport to everything. The front desk clerk was very nice, my room was ready early and the linens were changed everyday. I have stayed in Rome many times and this is a fantastic place, much better then the hotel I paid 3x for.Highly recommended.

The Terni is a remarkable find. We are a couple in our early 70's but are both very fit having been athletes in the past. The hotel is situated in one of those typical Italian Palazzos that contain several hotels. I believe that there are 5 in this building and I suspect that they are all under the same management. Reception is on the 1st floor, you have to walk up one flight or request that the lift be sent down to you. It is not possible to access the lift from the ground floor, this is to stop people getting into the hotel without passing reception. We had a room on the third floor, not sure if this is significant, but I thought it worth a mention. We had booked the very basic double room, double bed, T.V., wardrobe, desk, sink with hot and cold water. Clean sheets changed 3 times (we stayed 8 nights) lots of fresh towels every day. The room was very clean, and as quiet as could be expected considering that there was a party of German school kids on our floor. The shower room was along the corridor, and I think that we were the only people using it. The bathroom was clean and cleaned regularly, there was a wonderful shower, a sink, a toilet and a bidet. All in great working order. The hotel is easy to find, only a couple of blocks from the main station. As I previously said, we are active people and found the Terni/Dina/Orbis very conveniently placed for visiting the sights. The Colosseum is only 10/15 minutes walk. In fact we walked everywhere from the hotel, except on a trip to Frascati and another to Ostia Antica. The area is full of reasonable restaurants, and some really classy ones. There are also some superb enotecas and a really historic gelateria. This area, Monti and Esqualine is really on the up and becoming decidedly trendy. We did not have the hotel breakfast but went to a great local bar. Lucca's. Go out of the hotel, cross the road, walk for 2 blocks until you come to Santa Maria Magiorre, on your left is Lucca's, a slice of real

Hotel Terni is very close to the train station. The sheets on the beds looked clean but we awoke with bug bites all over our bodies. The room was also very hot. Fans should be provided. We had to sleep with the windows open which was quite loud because a restaurant was located right below our window and they start working on the street construction at 6:30 am.

The room wasn't very clean. We have stayed in a room with a bathroom, but the bathroom had no separate shower. The bathroom was the shower, so everything was wet and there was mould in the seiling and in the wooden door. We also believe that there might have been some fleas in the bed. We didn't see them but we woke up full of itching bubbles all over our bodies... I do not recommend this hotel, though the location is great.

It was impossible to shower in the bathroom, it was simply too small. But we had no problems using the bathroom in the hall to shower, so it didn't really matter. Otherwise, the hotel was everything we expected and more!
