Location excellent - walking distance to almost all major sites. Staff helpful. Breakfast satisfactory. Bathroom large and modern. Housekeeping very good. Would have preferred a larger room for a triple - a proper bed rather than a couch as the third bed. And carpets need renewal on the fourth floor.

Hotel is a solid 3 star hotel - had great support staff, excellent breakfast, and the location is close to everything. The doors of the hotel are right in front of a bus stop, which can have a lot of people there, but no problems, and provided this does not bother you (did not me), it was a non issue. My room (no view) faced back, and although I was on the 2nd floor (first floor for europeans) I had literally NO noise from the street at all which was a nice surprise. I would recommend this hotel.

We love the hotel and the staff. The only thing I would suggest is the bedspreads be replaced --- they are getting pretty old and used looking

The Air Con in the room was practically non-existent. Asked front desk for help but was told it couldn't go lower than 25C! They did provide a fan which helped a little. Great location - very central to main sights. Great breakfast too.

We have just stayed for the fourth time at Hotel della Torre Argentina. The hotel is spotless, the rooms are spacious and air conditioned. There is an attractive bar and a small, airy, light and elegant lounge with a selection of international newspapers. All rooms have Internet connection. The breakfast room can be unhesitatingly recommended, not only for its spaciousness but for the quality and range of food. There is a further added attraction to the Hotel della Torre Argentina for us and that is its situation. Not only are you but five minutes from Palazzo Venezia, Piazza Navona and the Fori but near to (on would be a better description) the Teatro di Pompey where one of the most important and far reaching events in European history took place. The nearby ruins have been excavated and consolidated and information boards surround the site allowing you to appreciate the scale of the complex. The area of the Teatro is huge but of course most has been built upon and the original ground level of the area has been raised considerably. However the breakfast room of the hotel is below modern floor level and there appears to be Roman work down there, both brick work, tufa blocks and pieces of decorative marble. This must be the only hotel in which I have stayed where I've photographed the brickwork! We visit Rome regularly and we can't really envisage staying anywhere else. Highly recommended.

This was our favourite hotel on our 2-week trip through Italy, Spain & England. Rooms were amazingly quite, breakfast was superb and all staff very helpful. Only complaint was that our air conditioning wasn't working properly so the room was quite hot (27.5 degrees), but they offered to move us - we declined because it would have been too much trouble for only one more night.

Hotel Della Torre Argentina is a perfect location for all the major sites. Just minutes walk from Pantheon, Navona, Trevi, Venezia and even the Colloseum even though many of these sites look farther away on most maps. The hotel is located on a very busy street which means there is some noise to deal with but the location makes up for it. Right on #40 bus line to/from Termini and right arond the corner from the #8 tram that takes you into the heart of Travestere. Rooms were small but functional; large bathroom; great breakfast selection; free wifi in the lobby; and a rooftop patio which is perfect for relaxing after a long day of sightseeing. Front counter staff could be friendlier however. The #1 rule in real estate is location, location, location and HTA's is perfect.

Good Hotel in an excellent location for transport links and proximity to some of the key tourist areas. A bit expensive but then so are most hotels in Rome. Very clean rooms - we stayed in 305 and 307 - both were of a reasonable size for Europe. Reception staff were extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast offers a wide variety of choice and is served in a nice basement room. Roof is accessible -could benefit from some nice flowers/shrubs Used Roma Cristina HOHO bus 25Euro for 3 days including 3 days public transport - Pick it up in Piazza Venezia about 10 min walk from the hotel. The 40 bus from outside the hotel is a handy one for the station / vatican.

We stayed at the Della Torre Argentina on our fourth trip to Rome. Each trip we've stayed in a different hotel. We chose it because this time we were traveling with our teenage children and needed a room that would accommodate all four of us and was located in Rome's old center. Della Torre Argentina was perfectly acceptable. The room was large enough, it was clean and serviced each of the five days we were there, with plenty of hot water for showers; there were extra pillows and blankets, a mini frig, and internet connection in the room. The breakfast was included and served in a large seating area with a nice selection that included pastries, fruit, yogurt, cheese, eggs, tomatoes, sliced meat, juice, espresso and cappuccino - although, from a self-serve machine. The drawback for this hotel is that it is located on Corso Vittorio Emanuele which is a very large, very busy street. A bus stop is located right at the front door of the hotel causing a crowd to be gathered as you tried to exit or enter. Over all this was not that bad. Also, some may think that it is a bit noisy, especially with the windows open. However, I would remind travelers that noise is a part of Rome, especially at night..... enjoy it while you can!

We stayed in a family room accomodating 2 adults and 2 children. It was spacious and had a great bathroom. The furnishings need some refreshing and the hotel in general could use new carpet and paint. The breakfast buffet was substancial and had a variety of local food items. the hotel is located in the center of all major attractions so we did not need to use public transportation at all. We walked to everything, including many wonderful restaurants. I would reccomend this hotel to anyone traveling with a family who is looking for a great value not a luxury experience.

Laura at the front desk is phenomenal -- gracious, intelligent and resourceful when it came to unsnarling our Vatican Museum reservations. The location of Torre de Argentina is absolutely perfect. Not only is it centrally located (we could see the dome of the Pantheon from our 5th floor terrace), but the bus stops just steps from the front door. Several buses stop there, and the staff know which one you need to take to go anywhere. On a return visit, it was easy to go outside Roma Termini and jump on the #40 bus (with suitcases!) and be dropped off nearly at the doorstep of Torre de Argentina. The only thing they need is new carpets; those they have are so stained and worn that they detract from the otherwise excellent character of the hotel.

We had a wonderful time. the location of the hotel is ideal. the rooms were wonderful and updated. our first room was noisy and Marco from the front desk was extremelly gracious and helped us changed the room to a quiter one. They were clean and the bathroom very modern for Europe. Also breakfast was wonderful. We would defintiley stay there again.

The location of this hotel couldn't be better. It is walking distance to the Vatican, Colosseum,Piazza Navona and other sights. If you don't want to walk, the bus stops right outside of the front door, and the hotel can sell you bus tickets. We had one of the two rooms on the 5th floor and it had a private patio. The room was so quiet we couldn't hear street noise. Be aware, though, that the elevator only goes to the 4th floor so you need to carry your luggage up one flight of stairs. The breakfast was ok by European standards. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. We would stay here again.

We stayed at Hotel Della Torre Argentina in August 2010, two adults and two teens in a 4-beds room at the third floor. Excellent location (walking distance to Coliseum, Roman Forum, Spanish Steps, Piazza Navona, Campo di Fiori, bus #40 to Vatican right in front of the hotel) with excellent breakfast included and plenty of restaurant in the area. Taxi from Fiumicino Airport to the hotel for four people with four suitcases: 50 Euro, way better than taking the train to Termini stations and the #40 bus. Tip: Visit the Vatican after 2PM: nobody in the line at the entrance!!!

We came as a family of four (with two teens). The room was much bigger than we experienced in England and France for the same price; more than adequate for our needs. The high vaulted ceilings were cool. Beds and showers were great. Air conditioner was more than sufficient. The breakfast was great; huge selection of quality food and a very nice breakfast area. The Hotel is very close to the bus stop (<1 min walk). The hotel is also fairly close to many key tourist sites(5-20 min walk, 5-10 min by bus). The staff spoke english and was very helpful and they even had bus tickets available at the front desk.

The staff was fine...not really warm and fuzzy. They answered our questions, but didn't offer additional help or information. We did ask for a room change because the air conditioning was not good in our first room. The change was easily accomodated. Breakfast was very nice (the breakfast staff was very friendly). Beds were hard, but we found that in Venice and Greece as well. There is a bus stop right outside the front door. Good location in relation to main tourist sites, restaurants and shopping. Overall, a good experience.

Great hotel. fantastic location, you can walk to everything in Rome. The rooms were better than expected and the breakfast area is great. The breakfast was better than I was expecting as were the rooms. A metered taxi from the rail station costs 10 Euro do not accept the offer of a 28 Euro ride. This is great hotel in great location and I would recommend it without hesitation.

For a 3 day visit, this hotel was in a great centralized location to visit the typical places in Rome. We planned to walk to all of the sites with the proximity to Piazza Navonna and the Pantheon providing numerous places to eat, and there were plenty within a 5 minute walk. Our room seemed like it was normally a double bed with a sleeper sofa, but a additional single bed was added since we need quad occupancy. This made the room "tight", but certainly tolerable since we only used it to sleep. The breakfast (included) was very good, with eggs, ham, cheeses and the more typical pastry/fruit as well...certainly enough to satisfy us, and the closest to American coffee we had in Italy. The lobby was relaxing and a place to read a newspaper. This location provided a great "Run through Rome" for me - to the Vatican, down the Tiber, around Circo Massimo and the Coliseum, to the Monumento Nazionale a Vittorio Emanuele II and back - all within 4 miles!! Trastavere was a short 1/2 mile walk - everything was very accessible. The bus stop was just outside the door and the taxi stand 100 feet way, so other options were available. The Trevi Fountain and Spanish steps were a little further, but we enjoyed the walk, which gave us the chance to see numerous churches and window shop, etc along the way.

The Hotel Della Torre Argentina was perfect for our first stay in Rome. It was central to most major sights, had a wonderful breakfast (European), and is right on the bus route. Being only a few blocks from Campo Di Fiore gave us wonderful restaurant options (ask at hotel for recommendations). The room was a superior yet still felt a bit small, even by European standards. Fortunately, the bathroom was very large and helped to compensate. Our room faced the back of the building so we had a quiet night's sleep. We found that the most logical schedule of day's events was to go out early to sightsee, return to the hotel at around 1 or 2 to cool off for the hottest part of the day (mid July temps were in the mid 90s), and then go back out after about 6 or 7 for dinner. Overall, I'd highly recommend the Hotel Della Torre Argentina for a stay in Rome.

The hotel location is very central so ideal. The staff are very obliging and met all our advance requests about our room. It was expensive but the quality of room furnishings was good and the bathroom was very nice and modern. It is on a very busy street but the hotel has spent money on noise reduction. Stop shopping. Superb hotel easy 4 star in historic area.!! I spent 5 nights with my parents in September at the Della Torre Argentina. Easy walk or bus ride to all the sites. Near Pantheon, near Piazza Nouvena and short walk to Trevi Fountain. Recently remodeled, quiet, airconditioned, marble bathrooms with toweldryer, hair dryer and bidet, fullbath and shower. Comfortable long queen size bed. Triple room with alcove for large twin. 12 foot ceiling with chandelier, ample room. Electronic closet safe, TV with internet access. Best of all very very quiet, no smells, superb maid service and wonderful towels. Large varied breakfast buffet from 7-10AM with eggs, pastries, cold cuts, fruit, coffees, juices, cheeze and yogurt. Really a fantastic hotel and will no hesitate to go back. Very accommodating front desk, English speaking . They helped me in arranging taxi service from the airport for 50 euros. Lots of restaurants in neighborhood. Wonderful roof top patio with spectacular view of Pantheon and St Peters

Very nice hotel, especially considering the price and location. On the advice of another review, I requested a room with a view and we ended up with a room with a lovely terrace. The triple room was so small we had no where to put our 3 suitcases without walking over them. Asked for a larger room but was told all rooms were sold out. The night concierge was very unfriendly and unhelpful. He called a cab for us one night and the cab driver had to stop on the street and ask 2 other cabbies for directions to the restaurant. We should have gotten out then! The driver drove us somewhere and told us the restaurant was just up the street but cars not allowed. We got out not knowing where we were and the restaurant was no where near there! When we reported our experience to the night concierge to make sure he never called that cab again, he acted like he didn't remember calling a cab for us! Very stern, unfriendly breakfast attendant. Breakfast was good however, with nice selection of pastries, meat and cheese. The Bell Captain was friendly and helpful. Location was good, and right by the bus and trolley stop. Near Piazza Fiori with several good restaurants, people watching, and shops. We would not stay here again due to the night concierge's unfriendliness/rudeness and the extremely small room size for 3 people. It was a double room with a twin bed squeezed in there.

To anyone visiting Rome, this is the hotel to stay. I booked this one due to the reviews in venere and it is all true, in the center close to everything, clean, cheap and Very good Quality. This will be my Hotel in Rome from now on. Also very good and cheap the arranged shuttle from the airport. I stayed 3 days in a 4 person bedroom in AUGUST 2009 and it was excellent. I booked out in the morning, the last day but the hotel arranged baggage keeping and airport shuttle latter in the afternoon that day and took care of me even late afternoon after booking out in the morning. Excellent service and Quality. Good breakfast in an excellent conserved old cellar. You can get also tickets and info for touristic tours at the front desk. Sometimes you choose a hotel on the internet and when you get there you find better options, this time it did not happen, when I got there I confirmed I had done the right choice.

The hotel exceeded expectations. The room, which had a nice view of the street below and the roof of the Pantheon, was beautiful and had a reasonable amount of space, even with a twin-size additional bed. Lovely bathroom with marble floors. Excellent breakfast. There was an elevator, which not all hotels in Italy have, and we appreciated it, as we were on the 4th floor. The air conditioner worked very well, which was not always the case in other hotels we stayed at. The location was excellent, right near the Piazza Navone, in the old center of Rome, within easy walking distance to the places all tourists want to see. I highly recommend this hotel, and will stay there again.

We had two rooms and one of the rooms (305, I believe) had a terrible smell - but once you were in the room for a while you did not notice it. - One room was very spacious the other room was very small with little room for suitcases and things. The noise from other rooms was noticeable -whenever anyone else opened or closed their door our door also slammed. The location was ideal - practical to get to many places by walking and the bus was just outside the door. The breakfast was excellent and there was a large variety of foods to choose from. We would stay here again.

Buena situación a buen precio.

Pros: rooms comfortable, A/C worked great in 100 degree farenheit temps, bathrooms roomy/clean, continental breakfast plentiful(fruit, pastries), location great, bus and taxi stand very close, price reasonable, small food store around the corner, service personnel available, room in back (not facing street) was quiet; Cons: Room facing street was a bit noisy for adult (but teenager was able to sleep fine), breakfast hours need to be moved earlier to 6:30 am to allow those taking tours to get breakfast before going on tour (breakfast staff was not happy with early arrivers even though desk personnel said it was okay to grab a quick croissant), elevators small;

This is certainly a place where we gonna stay next time. Especially great for cat-lovers since located right around the corner from Piazza della Torre Argentina. Hotel of a five-star-level for the price of a three-star in an awful Roma Termini district.

I was an adequate hotel in a good location. A fair value for the price. It appears that they may be slowly upgrading the property. Our bathroom was spacious, brand new, state of the art. The room (#307)was spacious but in need of new carpet, wallpaper and furnishings. Breakfast room was "grotto like" ..cafe was dispensed out of a machine so it was very inconsistent...food was just OK...

Great location if you like Piazza Navona and area. Wonderful staff and nice breakfast. Super nice bathrooms and cleanliness outstanding. Only complaint was that the walls were thin and on our last night we could hear the people in the room next door. Outside windows however blocked all street noise. Would definitely stay again!!

The hotel was in a fantastic location, right near the Pantheon and walking distance to major sites. Staff were not as friendly as would've hoped and had problems in obtaining a room to our satisfaction. Would try somewhere else next time.

The hotel's location is excellent (two blocks away from the Pantheon and Campo dei Fiori) and the easy access to buses was very convenient (they stop right in front of the hotel). Rooms were clean and they provided free wi-fi in the room, which was very convenient. Hotel staff could be a little bit more helpful and friendly, but they answered all our questions. Breakfast was adequate. It had some fresh fruit but not a wide selection.

Excellent location since you are close to all areas of interest - Vatican on one side, Roman historical sites and Collosseum on the other side and straight ahead you have the Pantheon, leading to other famous sites such as Fontana di Trevi and Piazza Spagna.

Hotel is in a great location with easy access to all the major sights in central Rome. This was our first stay at this hotel and when we booked the room we requested a view if possible. On check in we were pleasantly surprised by our room on the top floor with a beautiful terrace and a view from Piazza Venezia to St Peter's dome. The breakfast offerings were extensive. Buses to the Termini train station stop right in front of the hotel. We stayed for just 1 night on the last weekend in April and would definitely choose this hotel again on a future trip.

This is one of the best hotels I stayed in Rome. It had a very good location, near the cross between Corso VIttorio Emanuele and Largo di Torre Argentina. The rooms are quite nice and all the services are good. The breakfast is abundant and varied and it is served in a beautiful environment. It has the best quality / price relationship I have ever found in a hotel in the centre of Rome.

The front desk was not particularly welcoming. We tried both days to have a drink at the lounge/bar, but no one was ever there to serve us and it appeared not to be in use. The lounge furnishings were once elegant, but now worn and shabby. I believe the elevators would be too tiny for a large person. As it was we had to stand sideways and we are slim. The breakfast room was large and charming, with lots of food to choose from, although no hot food. There was yogurt, juice, fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, pastries and an automatic coffee machine. The hotel is very near the Pantheon and Piazza Navona, there is a noisy bus stop right in front of the hotel which would be handy if one wanted to use the bus. Our non-smoking room was small with high ceilings, but adequate, with a very nice modern bathroom, good water pressure, toiletries and large bath towels. We paid 140 Euro per night. I think the price was high, but then it is a hotel in Rome. Earlier in the week we stayed at a lovely convent for 80 Euro.

Part of the reason for staying was the shuttle service to the airport since this was my last destination before leaving. I inquired the day before departing and wasn't offered much - perhaps due to a language barrier at the front desk. I asked again before retiring for the evening and got the same story by a different person. I ended up having to pay for a cab ride since everyone was so vague. The hotel is conveniently located for many sites, but definitely noisy when staying street side but the windows do a great job of keeping the noise out. The lift works! and there was a nice variety for the breakfast, just remember North Americans have a different take on breakfast, so go open-minded and be happy there is something to eat! I would recommend this hotel if you only have a few days and want to see a lot, I was surprised how many places I was able to visit.INSIDER TIP: Pack some toilet paper in your purse/napsack & some hand sanitizer when out and about. There are no public washrooms and those available at the venues are less than favorable....

We (husband, myself and young daughter) stayed in Room 312 which is classified as a suite. It consisted of a very large sitting area, a large bedroom with king bed and a spacious bathroom with double sink, shower, toilet and bidet. There is also a TV in the sitting area and bedroom, plus free internet. This room also had a nice little outdoor patio so you could relax outside (no view though). We were delighted with the spaciousness and cleanliness of the room and the central location of the hotel with close proximity to buses, supermarket and walking distance to most sites. Breakfast was also excellent with a wide selection of pastries, cereals, fruits, beverages, cold cuts, cheese and boiled eggs. We stayed in one other hotel while in Italy (Venice) and HDTA's breakfast was much more extensive! When booking, we were torn between this hotel and another which cost much less but was less central and we are sooo glad that we went with HDTA -- it surpassed all our expectations! It was VERY convenient to be located so centrally and be able to walk to all the sites. Highly, highly recommend!!! Their only weakness would be their front desk staff who could probably improve their English and approachability.

Excellent location, walkimg distance to many popular sites. The staff was friendly and helpful. Not much to write about regarding resturants in the immediate vicinity (Italian food directly across the street, good food, but more like a pizza parlor. It was our last stay on a three week European vacation and was a very pleasant stay.

Hotel Della Torre Argentina is in an excellent location for tourists -- between Piazza Navona and Campo de Fiori. If you're not walking, the bus stops right out front and there's a taxi stand at the corner. This hotel is a little worn down (thin carpet and just general wear and tear), but clearly was a beautiful hotel in it's prime. Our room and bathroom (with a full tub) were generously sized, even by American standards. The room had all of the amenities that one might expect in a luxury hotel. If/When this hotel is updated or remodeled, they'll easily be able to charge double what we paid for location and comfort.

There where 4 women of us that stayed in Rome for 4 nights. Della Torre has an excellent situation. You can actually walk to almost every important sight. Employees at the reception were friendly and spoke English very well. Breakfast was very good, a full one. Only our room was not so good. We had reserved two twin rooms, which the other one was good but the one I stayed in had a tiny bathroom and not so good bed to sleep in. Otherwise the hotel was good.

In my opinion it is a perfect place to stay in Rome. Walking distance to Piazza Navona, Panteon, Spanish Steps, Coloseum. Only 3 bus stops from Vatican. Rooms are clean and cosy. Staff is really helpful and speaks English. There is air conditioning and hair drier. Breakfast is rich(different bread, fruits, cheeses, musli, joghurts, jams, ham). This hotel is a good value for money.

This is a very good hotel and is very central in Rome with bus stops very close by (line 40 from the termini). Rooms are quiet and have very good air conditioning which is very important around august (you have to close the window for it to work which we didn't realise for a few days). Nobody minded us as a young gay couple. Very good hotel! Highly recommended.

The location is perfect for those who are sightseeing and want to view the ancient Rome area and the vatican. You can walk to the Coliseum, Pantheon, Trevi Fountain and Spanish Steps all within one mile. We had a quad that with all quads was tight. The bathroom was BIG. Large shower, double sinks. Breakfast was better than normal for Europe. Many restaurants in walking distance. 40 bus from Termini leaves you one block from the hotel. Same bus takes you directly to the Vatican

My second visit to this hotel on unbeatable low-season tariffe. The only negative thing was a very small shower cabin (the constructions of old building do certainly set the limits for this; on the first time my bathroom was almost luxurious). Excellent location in Rome. Most recommended.

All the main things needed were there. Internet in the room was free along with TV and air conditioning that worked great. Everyone that worked there was very friendly and helpful. Location next to bus stop, so can be a little loud, but the windows block out much of the sound. Have to expect some noise anywhere in Rome. Being close to the bus made it real easy to get back to airport as well. Breakfast was there every morning, nothing great, but did the trick. The bathroom was the best, the shower was great after a long day walking around. Two of the best dining areas in the city just a couple of blocks away, plus tons of great shops, stores, and cafes.

The only slight disappointment was the lack of hot food in the buffet breakfast (boiled/scrambled eggs would have been welcome)The Pastarito restaurant, just near the Piazza Venezia provided some very good, and reasonably priced meals, and from a previous trip to Rome, the Hamasei Japanese restaurant near the Spanish Steps was excellent.
