Hotel Cressy - Rome

The hotel is noisy and you can hear noise from other rooms.(Flushing, people talking etc.) You cant sleep comfortably.

I stead in a male dormitory of 4. So for sure it could not be silentful but I noticed the light power was very poor and one overbed light broken. Only 1 table for 4 people. Very minimum space which makes it very expensive for what it is (I paid 32 euros per night in total and there is no breakfast, no public space (no living room, no Internet if you haven't your laptop). But I must admit the staff is VERY friendly which makes me feel a little sorry to leave this evaluation because they are very kind. But I must be honest! Also a good point: the linen are clean and bathrooms are ok too. I also find the location perfect. But the owner could paint the corridors, add a small table for each bed or make it a 3 beds dormitory instead of 4 because the space is too narrow and when I think that 32x4=128 euros we pay per night for this dormitory, it is not fair.

The hotel was clean and the staff were friendly. I wouldn't recommend it if you have an aversion to cigarette smoke as the staff smoke inside (in a mostly separate area, but it does infiltrate the rest of the premises).

Being a backpacker hostel, I did not know exactly what to expect, especially in an inner-city set up. This establishment is situated conveniently close to the main train terminal and metro station. This is especially useful when a traveller from outside Italy have to find the place. I can reccomend Hostel Cressy for the following reasons: Proximity to public transport, Cleanliness of rooms and bathroom facility, Helpfulness of staff (even with the language barrier). This is a good place to stay if you are a single traveller or with a companion and need to stay for a night or two. The price of the room was good value for money. The free wireless internet offered was also helpful to stay in contact and browse the internet for information on Rome.

The hotel location is very good. Close to the Rome Terminal, Metro and shuttle buses to airport. My roommate was an American boy.He was very happy his staying at this hotel too. I stayed two nights ath this hotel.

Room needed extra space for clothes, toiletries etc, such as shelves, hooks and coat hangers. No where to put stuff except one desk. Could have had a small TV

I've been stayed in Rome just for two days alone, but my overall impression is positive because I've meet some nice people in the hotel and the owner is extremely welcoming. However, It would be nice if the hotel had offered a small breakfast.

I had a bed for 2 nights in the 4 bed male dorm. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only complaint was that my bed was quite hard and for the first time in my lfie I woke up a few times due to this. But you get what you pay for and this is a good place for a cheap one night stop, 2 nights may be pushing it because of the bed. However I had a slightly lower bed than the other three in the room so it may just be that bed for all I know...

My mom and I stayed here. It felt like hostel more than a hotel, but more privacy than a hostel. Cressy does have one room with a private shower/restroom in case anyone was wondering. Overall I was satisfied with the room, minus the street noise outside. The staff was nice, but seemed rude when I first buzzed to drop off my luggage. If you are looking for nice hostel type, then stay here.

The Hostel was clean and tidy. Rooms were a little noisy due to location.. Staff were friendly and sometimes the male manager could be a little weird and creepy to female travellers. Other then that great location to train station. One bad thing they had family rooms and had children staying in a hostel. Not good if you want sleep!!

Nice location and friendly staff. There are only two bathrooms, so sometimes you have to wait for shower. Overall, it was nice to stay.

I suppose Cressy is fine for a one night stop over in Rome, which is what I had. However, I did not sleep well due to the street noise and the hard pillow. I stayed in the four person dorm, so I knew what I was getting, but overall it just isn't a very pleasant place and I certainly would not have wanted to return for another night.

We stayed here for 3 nights. The location is very good.It is near Termini.(walking within 5 mins) We booked the room without bathroom.There is a sink in my room.(Sink is very important for us) For these price,I think it's worth!

What a bargain! Quiet and clean. Great location. Friendly, helpful staff. Our room was small but comfortable. Nice cafes and shops all around. I HIGHLY recommend!

It was close to the central train station, and great except I didn't get a towel on check in and had to ask for it and at 8am one morning the female staff member was extremely rude when I wanted to ask why the internet wasn't working and basically shut the little window in my face. The male staff were great though. Pretty clean, just two bathrooms though so sometimes you had to wait to use them.

Hotel chosen for just one night stay near the railway station and Hertz car hire. There are better ones (p.e. Unicorn, that serves breakfast).

It's a bit too expensive for the quality you get. The bedroom is not super roomy. It's in a nice sector in the city with cheap restaurant, but on a main street so you might hear cars all night. There's no real front desk, but the guy apartment is in the entrance. Very friendly people however. No common room to meet people.

Excellent room, very clean and nice. Fine service and location. When you return to Venice I will choose this hotel again.

I lived in a girls dorm. It was clean. But we only have one power supply in each room. I had to charge my camera in the public space! Stuffs are very friendly and helpful. Good location.

Having in account its location, kind of hostel and price, I would say I have been lucky finding Cressy as my option. People there were very kind and didn't have any problem to get information or whatever I needed.

It is a decent room, but the noise of the vehicles was disrturbing, cleaniless of the room was not upto mark. Location is very near to Termini.

This was a great find, just a short walk from the Termini. The hosts were very kind, and Roberto sent me off to a great Taverna a few blocks away. The room didn't cost much, but it had a million dollar view overlooking Rome. I would definitely stay here again, but next time I'll have to remember to bring a towel because for some reason they weren't provided.

It is very basic indeed, but it is explicable if you consider the price. The bath is outside the room. The furniture is old, but the room is very clean. The lady owner was very kind. Towels and hairdryer on request at the reception.

I asked for a bed in a 5pax dormitory but I was luky infact I stayed alone in a 3pax room for 14 euro!!! the room is clean.

its a great place for the price you pay. its clean quiet but only has one bathroom shower for all rooms so I suppose that could be a problem if everyone would want to shower at the same time in the morning

For this price, breakfast should be included. The noise from the road was terrible. We chose this hotel because it was on the 5th floor but I heard people in the street at all hours despite the hotel staff saying that the windows were effective against noise. Room was not very attractive but clean. Staff were visible in room next to ours when we came and went. We were 2 women wanting twin beds but were only offered a double bed, or a double with a singl shoved in the corner.

I was there in 5 days.

All the facilities are basic and clean. I thought there would be internet but no. The entrance door was really scary, like it's under construction. The property was pretty old and should do some make over. The male manager, Roberto was very helpful but the female manager didn't speak English and was a bit indifferent and not so friendly at times, when I want to get stuff out of the fridge in the office or want to change beds. The only light in the 4 people female dorm was very very dim. They provide towel which was good. There wasn't really any public areas. Not great but enough for a budget traveler.

A 3-star hotel in Italy is roughly equivalent to a 2-star hotel in Germany. The family working at the hotel are friendly, speak good English and are eager to please. Do NOT accept a room facing the busy street, which is very loud. After one night of that I asked for a different room, which was granted and afterward no problem. I would stay here again if I was looking for a cheap, spartan hotel in a very convenient location with very good service.

It was my first stay at Hotel Cressy and I used dorm type room, but it was comfortable stay and room was nice and good price.(They also have single/double rooms). Location was also good, close to termini Station and the hotel staffs are very nice, especially Mr.Roberto(spell?) was so friendly and I had very good time. They also offer Rome City map, some information, and towel and soup if you need. The only one thing I was confused by is the map on this website was a little bit different, but there're a lot of hotels, hostels, so you can ask them. I would recommend this hotel.

The staff could not do enough to help you from giving you a map indicating where the hotel was to been available to answer questions till midnight.

It is exactly as they've advertised. You get a bed and hot shower. Very basic. But the staff was nice, and I had the whole room to myself for about 2 nights so I can't complain. Overall, it was a good stay and I stayed 4 nights there.

First time at Cressy It was clean, neat, and simple Bathroom/ shower area My only concern was the community bathroom could be a problem if you have to go to the restroom and someone is showering for a long period of time.

The room was very clean and spacious with a great view over the street. The owners are very friendly. They gave us great advice and recommendations about Rome and surrounding cities. In a way, we felt like we were their guests. The hotel is impecably clean. Rooms are cleaned daiily and fresh towels are provided. I would go back in a heart beat. Also, check out the coffee shop right downstairs from the hotel... Very friendly and reasonable prices.

Very close to Terumini Station. Good restaurant are near the hotel. The staff is multilingual.

The first welcome from Reception (A lady) was GREAT. Quite suitable for Single Backpack Trip alone (not sure for Group or Family). Location is quite OK for transportation, really nearby Termini Train Station.

I chose this location for its proximity to the train station and to the hotel I would be joining a travel group at the next day. I would recommend finding a hotel in a better area of the city, closer to attractions. The lock in my room did not work properly, even after informing staff, was only shown "how to do it right". Later that evening someone got into my room and urinated on my floor. I was not offered a new room, the staff accused me of urinating on my floor and then swirled the urine around the room with a small mop, suggesting that I leave the window open and fan on to "air it out". It could not be much worse than this. I was shocked at the very poor quality of the overall hotel based on reviews on your site which were very positive. I am a budget traveler and don't expect much from the hotels I book with, but this was completely disgusting, I still gag when I think about it.

Very helpful and friendly staff, excellent value for the price considering the location. It is very close to the metro. The room was very nice. But the hotel surroundings were average - it was a safe area, but no frills.

The hotel blocked the room cost on my credit card an didn't make it clear that the amount would be released later on. So when I was forced to pay cash for my stay (the only option provided), I was paying twice... But later the credit charge was released.

A hotel to stay only for one or two nigtes. Convenient position to reach historical places

This was our first time in Rome, first time at Hotel Cressy. The staff were helpful and the hotel was clean, pleasant, close to attractions and transport.

Hotel Cressy was a pleasurable experience for a young couple's first time in Rome.

The hotel is very close to Termini Station (the main reason why i decided to stay here). The room i stayed in was a bit dusty and the public bathroom was more or less OK (in terms of cleanliness). I would prefer if there was a bathtub and not just a hole on the floor to drain shower water.

Well maintained and clean. No meal or breakfast is available at hostel but you can get it shop beside buildings entrance. Map need to be updated.

If you're looking for a cheap, clean place to say in Rome, this is your place. You're getting what you pay for however, as it has 0 frills. The mattresses were amongst the cheapest and most uncomfortable I've ever slept on. I was also annoyed at having to pay cash for my room after the first night, despite being able to pay for my first night with my credit card.

Lo mas importante es la ubicación, esta a dos cuadras de la terminal Termini y a mano de todo. Igualmente considero que es un lugar para estar de paso dos o tres días si no estas acostumbrado a compartir baño y habitacion.

This is the first time I travel to Rome and consequently the first time I stayed at the hotel Crezzy, indeed expected better care and better facilities, besides not liking me that the bathroom was shared, that is outside the room, I was in London in a 2 star hotel and was better service and a much lower cost.

The Hotel was a great find. It was clean, and at a great location, minutes from Termini Station, a great local street market in the mornings across the street, internet access cafes close by. The staff was very helpful with local area, and assisted with my delayed luggage.

accessibility is the only plus... very near roma termini... saves a lot for people on a budget.. still... price is a little too high.. for shared baths and toilets even with solo rooms...

seedy, creepy, scary, dirty, etc. I now understand why a horror movie called hostel was made. The staff made me wait 25 minutes while the only person able to check me in was on the phone. I checked in and basically checked out and slept at the airport.

It was o.k. for one night but not for more. It cost too much for what it is if I compare with other b&b where i stayed in Roma and the rest of Italia.

The common parts were particularly scruffy.

It was a nice place to meet other travellers, who ended up in the same dormitory room. The restaurant that they recommend, which is right by the hostel has very good pizza and salad. The dorm room is definitely not spacious, but a good place to go if you want a clean place to sleep for a reasonable price. The toilets were clean. There were only two bathrooms, but somehow it worked out that I didn't have to wait to use it.

Renate made me really feel welcome when I arrived late at night and she maintained excellent customer service throughout my stay. Everybody else were also friendly and helpful. Our dorm was clean and it was good to enjoy the hot showers after tiring days out. Hotel Cressy has good links to main sightseeing attractions (many situated within walking distance). It would be good if the hotel invested in computers (1 or 2) to provide internet access to residents. It's also a pity that there is no common lounge area for socialising. It was my first experience in Dormitory type accommodation and actually found it quite pleasant. I shared with great girls/ladies and despite our age, language and cultural differences, we got on well. I would recommend Hotel Cressy for any "budget traveller".

I stayed 4nights @ cressy. The location was very good for travelars, because it was near by Termini station. I had to leave from the hotel early in the morning,but didn't feel any danger.

I stayed in Rome for 5 nights. the city is amazing, the people and culture friendly and interesting. The hotel is well located although the surraundings not so nice at night. The staff was great, very helpfull with every request. Overall a great experience. I would definetly go back to Rome and The Cressy Hotel.

We were welcomed by a friendly face who helped us to get to the main attractions. It was fairly quiet, but I do suspect if there were noisy people around it would get annoying. Excellent location- close to the station and walking distance to all the main sights.

The Cressy is a real find for single travellers who are either passing through Rome or staying there.It's located 2 blocks from the Termini Sta., so it's easy on the traveller who has to catch an early morning train to the airport,or a bus or metro to anywhere in Rome.I found the room I stayed in to be in good condition, the staff to be welcoming and efficient,and the price very reasonable.I don't think it would be great for a family with kids; the place is really best suited to the light-luggage/young traveller; I don't think it would be for anyone wanting luxury, or a "family-friendly" place. Around the area there were some quite decent little restaurants,(probably one of the few places in Rome for Chinese or Ethiopian food)and a nice supermarket (great for putting together sandwiches and 'road food'). I stayed in April,and things weren't in high season yet; I don't know if someone who was going in Summer would have the same hassle-free time--the area around(you could imagine) might be too hectic for some travellers, especially in peak peason. But I'm from NYC, so "busy" frankly doesn't faze me.

I was in Cressy for two days, I think this is a cheap hostel, not hotel, it's in a 5th floor and has no door to the street. Is a good place if your idea is to go and visit the city for the whole day.

people are nice but when you rent from web is not clear that the sigle that they offer a good price is the one that you go to share with another five person,will be nice that on the web report from the'Cressy'is clear which kind of accomodation they go to offer for the respective service,anyway they offer me the opportunity to sleep in a room with five bed,paying the differents rate of 28.00euro,thank you in adv.

I enjoyed my stay there. The room was clean and cozy. The hotel staffs are fluent in English and very friendly as well. The hotel location is good, only less than 10 minutes walk to the train station.

better looking inside than outside. staff was very helpful, they provided me with a map and directions. it was safe. i left my bags the last day until after check out. the bathroom was shared and at least two times i had to wait "in line" to use it. expensive for what it was but i guess hotels in rome are expensive. overall i recommend it.

Stayed in a shared 6-bed room. Was not impressed when I came home to find a person in my bed (they hadn't noticed my pajama under the pillow). Otherwise it was nice, quiet and clean. Maybe a shower curtain would have been nice. otherwise laudable for 20 Euros a night.

I'm glad I chose this place. It's close to everything; the owner is very polite and the price is more than just ok!!! Very clean indeed. If sharing a room with other people doesn't bother you, reserve a room next time you go to Rome on a trip.

The hotel was very clean and quiet, the manager very helpful, giving us a map and marking the major sights and which bus or subway to take to get to them, also the location of a supermarket. Sixty euro per night was a very good price for Rome - that was for 3 people with a shared bath. If you are looking for breakfast and luxury this is not the place, but if you want a clean place near the train station and within walking distance (about a mile) from the Colosseum & Forum, and in what seemed to be a safe area (lots of businessmen & tourists) - and don't mind climbing stairs - it is very good.

Good value for money. We stayed for a night each in a double room and a triple room and both rooms were spacious, neat and clean. Most important was that the toilets in the room and the shared ones were clean. City map was provided as soon as we arrived and the cool gentleman explained us how to go about the city. It was a bit difficult to find the place at first as there is no sign clearly marking the hotel. We exited on Via Marsala from the train station and and had to walk about 15 minutes with luggage to reach the hotel. Overall a great place to stay for your short trip in Room. Last note : There is a supermarket at the train station basement, so you may want to stock up on your essentials.

Very nice hotel. Not luxury, but for this price it is very good, clean and comfortable. Close to railway station Termini and not far from all Rome attraction. It's very good place to sleep at night as it is very quiet place.
