Positives: The proximity to the Termini train station is excellent. Perfect for a quick overnighter. The bathroom was spotlessly clean and well equipped. Fresh coffee to order at breakfast. Free internet in the rooms. Negatives The hotel is rather run down. Filthy carpets and mouldy wallpaper. Breakfast is less than par for a 3 star hotel Don't expect to dine out well in this neighbourhood. Price quoted was same as charged, although others were getting similar rooms for 25% less by just showing up at the door.

Over many years, I have returned to the Hotel Corot five or six times when in Rome because it is so comfortable, reasonably priced and friendly, with a better than average breakfast for this class of hotel. They have a variety of rooms including some well priced single rooms and very quiet inside rooms. Its relatively quiet location so close to the Termini is most convenient for restaurants and train or bus transportation. There is now a good food and drug store and other shopping on the lower floor of the Termini half a block away. We usually walk down hill to many of the tourist attractions in the centre of Rome and take the bus back up hill to the Termini and the Corot in the late afternoon. Where ever you wander in Rome you can easily find a bus heading back to the Termini. I have tried other hotels when the Corot is full, some considerably more expensive, however I keep going back to the Hotel Corot where I have been given a friendly welcome and I have always been completely satisfied.

Overall, the Corot was a decent place to stay. It was very close to the train station/metro. so its convenient location was a definite plus. The staff was ok, but not nearly as friendly and warm as all the others we encountered at the hotels we chose in the other cities on our Italy vacation.

The location near the train station proved to be excellant for our needs. We could sightsee all day and take any bus or metro back to the station and walk 2 minutes to our room. There were plenty of restaurants, including the Donalto which was a good value. The area sees many tourists a day so we found no language barrier. The train station even has a drug/grocery store for buying snacks and other items. Other shops proved equally as useful, like the 3 story bookstore that sold English books. Outside local street vendors sold fresh fruit which we enjoyed. Don't be confused by the fact that the Corot shares facilities with the hotel next door.

Great location to train station since we only had 2 days in Rome, with questionable taxi service, was very convenient. Room & shower very small, but clean. Helpful staff. Really, don't drop the soap in the shower - put an extra bar on the sink just in case. I would consider staying there again, but would prefer to be on the other side of the train station (slightly better area). Very basic room, but clean. A/C worked well, but you need to request it to stay on after midnight, which was not a problem. We heard throughout Italy that many places did not turn on A/C until June, so we felt lucky!!

Very clean, good firm bed and overall good value for money. Breakfast was excellent and delivered with a smile. Only minus was that we arrived late and tired and missed the entrance first go - maybe website could state that it is only 70 mtrs. on RIGHT hand side of Via Marghera after crossing over Via Marsala - exit outside Termini

Hotel was perfect for what we needed - a base close to Termini for travelling to the airport the following day, and for a 24 hr whistle stop tour of the city. Very easy to find when we arrived from Naples, friendly staff, room was good - very clean, with safe and wardrobe, spotless and spacious bathroom, good choice at breakfast time.Would definitely stay here again.

Good location. We got a quiet room even though it's on a very busy street. The hidro massage in the tub was a nice touch.

Great location right next to Termini. The website said it is 3-minutes from Termini but in reality, it's about 30 seconds from the Termini exit which was great when we were trying to transport luggage and two children under the age of 2. We spent one night in the hotel but the proximity to Termini and the metro makes this a great hotel to see Rome in a short time and also make day trips or get to the airport quickly. The inside of the hotel was quite nice and they provided us with a portable crib which there was plenty of room to accomodate.

The experience was generally good, but 3 stars, in our estimation, would not describe it. The location, convenient to the train station, was predictably noisy, with street vendors outside the door, beginning at 9pm, along with International beggars, which, unfortunately is typical of a train station vicinity in large cities. Being aware of possible thefts, kept us vigilant, and we did not have any bad experiences. Below our 3rd story window was a small restaurant with outdoor seating. Every evening we could hear the pleasant chatter of it patrons, mixed with the gentle clatter of china, and delicious aromas wafted up to our window. The room, itself, was plenty large enough for the two of us, but the walls were covered with a textile wall covering that appeared dirty or stained. After our first impression, though, it was clear that the room, in every other way, was kept clean. The re-modelled bathroom was cleaned daily and the towels replaced, even though we did not request it. The only drawback for some, might be the size of the shower stall, which is narrow, and would be difficult for tall people to bend down to pick up a dropped soap. The best part was the breakfast, which in fact was wonderful. A buffet featured everything from cereal and yogurt, fruit to rolls, cheese, ham, and was available from 7 am - 10 am. Hot tea, coffee (espresso, cappucino and American-style)were made to order.

Me and my husband were very satisfied with this hotel, because the room and bathroom was clean, the breakfast were with wide choice and very good. And also the hotel location is very good - near the Termini station. Only the room was small, but if you stay in the hotel only for sleeping and whole the day you are in the town, this is not problem. I would return next time to this property, if I´ll travell to Rome.

The hotel was closer to the train station than I expected, which was great since my spouse and I walked to the hotel pulling 5 pieces of luggage. The room was spacious and clean. Not much of a view but easy to hop on the metro. Hotel had a luggage room where you could store your luggage after checkout, which was great since we had 4 hours to kill after we checked out. Typical European breakfast with meats, pastries, cereal, coffee and juice. This was our first time in Rome and didn't know what kind of service to expect but the hotel staff was very professional. Would stay there again if we needed to be close to the train.

The position of the TV set in the room, high up, makes uncomfortable watching it. Bedside tables had no drawers. For the rest, we are satisfied and would recommend this hotel. We would definitively return to the Corot!

Excellent hotel for price, myself, husband and our 10 year old son stayed 3 nights at the Corot, at end of September 06, the breakfast was excellent-cheese/meat, pastries, cereal, toast, coffee, juice etc, the room was clean, staff friendly-very good value for money, and a great base to explore the beautiful city of Rome as it is very close to Termini, and only wished we were stayed longer. The Termini area is a bit dubious-but, that said, we felt quite comfortable at all times and it is convenient for metro/terravision bus back to Ciampino airport.

The hotel staff were very friendly and very helpful. We stayed at the hotel on two different occasions in the same week. The rooms we had were very different - the last room very large, clean and nice (the first definitely not so). Our first impression of the area surrounding the hotel was not good, but we decided to book extra nights anyway as the location is so easy to get to - and again, the staff was so very nice. All in all a very good stay and we would love to come back on our next visit to Rome.

Kleines sauberes Hotel in verkehrstechnisch günstiger Lage. Besonders hervorzuheben ist das für italienische Verhältnisse umfangreiche Frühstücksbuffet, sowie die Schalldämmung der Zimmer. Straßengeräusche waren kaum wahrzunehmen.

My daughter and I found the Corot to be in a great location next to the Stazione Termini. A "hop, skip and a jump" at an early hour to catch the train was great. The Corot was fine with an excellent breakfast. While the room was tiny it was very clean and the bathroom was spotless. Both my daughter and I love having hairdryers provided as the Corot did.

Hotel is in a good location for getting around the City. We walked to most places but having the Termini so close was very handy. The hotel was a little "tired" in places but the room and beds were clean. It had a very nice bathroom and the breakfast was good.

Overall, I would have been happy with my stay in Hotel Corot except for an incident on the morning of our departure. One of the staff members entered our room at 8.00am without knocking purely because the hotel got the impression we were about to do a bunk. This is because if you don't turn a deadbolt lock on the door at night reception will know as these locks register when locked in reception (a green light comes on downstairs). Naturally being trusting people we didn't deadbolt the door any night. Anyway, the hotel offered no apology and thats my only complaint

We stayed at the Carot on two occasions. The first time was wonderful, though the room was a bit on the small side. The second night looked promising but we discovered that our room was at the bottom of a shaft, devoid of air and reeking of the wonderful but stiffling odours of Italian cooking; rather claustrophobic and stuffy as the staff kept turning off the rather antiquated air conditioning. Breakfast was excellent.

A good location really close to the station . The room although a little small had a luxurious bathroom with a whirlpool bath! Staff were competent , friendly and helpful. Plus an excellent breakfast. Air cond in the room was very efficient and the room was very quiet at night could not hear traffic or other guests. I would happily stay there again.

Having checked in, we were shown to our room by someone who carried our luggage. Spaciousness of our room excellent. Double rooms in a 3 star are often very small with not enough room to swing a cat. The room seemed to be newly redecorated. Nice tiling and a Jacuzzi in the bathroom! Unfortunately we were just staying the night so there was no time to have a bath. Excellent full breakfast provided. That was a surprise since you usually have to settle for continental breakfast. Surrondings not very pleasant near the train station. Too far from tourist attractions but perfectly located for continuing your trip by train.

It is a very nice hotel, but there was no parking: we had to pay 18 Euros per night for private parking. The shower was awful. It was just a nozzle with the water falling on the floor, so the bathroom was always soaked. Because of that, we thought the hotel was overpriced. Otherwise, it was great.
