Hotel Corallo - Rome

The Corallo hotel is well situated near Termini Station. Not far from the historical part of Rome. We stay there one week in February and our impressions were very positive. The hotel is suitable also for a shorter stay, due to its location.

We had a great stay, close to metro, staff very helpful , good restaurants near , rooms were clean beds comfortable ,breakfast was like every other place simple.

Nice and clean hotel, the breakfast at the terrace of the hotel at the top floor is lovely.

For the money spent, the Corallo was a disappointment. The room was very small and the bathroom even smaller. The pictures on the website make the rooms look much larger. One of the biggest problems, was that the hotel failed to mention that there was a hostel one floor below us where young American college kids were up all night partying and screaming. The owners of the hotel were very nice, but it took 2 days of asking for extra towels that we actually received them. The only upside to the hotel was the small Ristorante on the bottom floor of the hotel. There were no common areas for anyone staying at the Corallo. The location of the hotel is good due to it only being 4 blocks from the main train station, but had I known, I would have spent a little extra money for a better quality hotel. The hotel would be great for college aged kids, but for anyone in their 30's, it was bit much when you are trying to have a relaxing vacation.

English communication with the reception disk is rather difficult. Otherwise, this is a nice place to stay in Rome considering its price, location, and service.

The staff at the hotel were very friendly and their English was far better (I'm ashamed to say) than our Italian. The hotel is only a 5 minute walk from the Termini and about 2 minutes walk from Castro Pretoria metro stations. Very well placed to get around Rome. We would definitely stay again. We stayed in Room No 8 and had access to a common terrace shared with about 4 other rooms in the hotel, but it was very secure. Breakfast is served in a rooftop conservatory / balcony which is a great location. There is a very small lift to get to the rooms on the 6 th floor and lots of steps for the claustrophobic! The TV only shows Italian TV - but "When in Rome" as they say. Cheap to stay but definitely not a cheap feel to the hotel rooms. Highly recommended.
