Anyone who is interested in visiting The Vatican will be pleased with the location of The Columbus Hotel. Just steps from St. Peter's Square we were able to get to the cathedral very early to beat the crowds and were extremely lucky to be there when the Pope joined the Family Day celebration basically outside our hotel's front door. Very exciting.

Vatican to was a convenient place so close. It was the hotel where they will be satisfied with the price range most in Rome Hotel stopped until now. It was also good charge in less car is stopped. I can not stop in the parking because of the traffic regulations of the Vatican until 15:00 to 13:00 from Sunday.

We got exactly what we wanted: Perfectly clean rooms, adequate bath facilities, and position near Vatican City, St. Peter's Square, and a taxi stand. The atmosphere of antiquity in the hotel added to it's charm; we were in Rome to experience it's history. The employees were gracious and helpful, the breakfast was great, and we were centrally located to travel whereever we wanted. Only wish we could have stayed longer.

I was traveling with my elderly mother who required a wheelchair on this trip. The hotel staff was very caring about her, and our room could not have been more perfect for access for her. We met my cousin and his wife, who also stayed at the hotel, and had a wonderful Christmas celebration. The dinner at the hotel restaurant was quite nice, and the breakfast meals were substantial and delicious. We ate at several restaurants near the hotel, but the most memorable and delicious was at Tre Puppazi, a short walk from the hotel on Borgio Pio. When I return to Rome I plan to stay at the Hotel Columbus again. It is perfectly located for the Vatican, and also for all areas of Rome. Traveling as a single woman with an elderly mother I felt safe at all times, and always felt welcome when returning to the hotel after excursions. This was just a perfect vacation, and the hotel was just simply the best!

We travelled as a family of 4 and as such received their Quad Room. It was actually 2 rooms with a common small foyer and washroom. The kids loved having their own room and tv. The location could not have been better. I had no idea it was as close to everything as it was. The breakfast was expensive, but good. Do not have any high hopes for the wifi there. We paid to use the wifi for 24 hours and we may have got a signal once every 5 tries. We ended up sitting in the hallway or in the common areas to get a better signal. We would absolutely stay at Columbus again!

Two rooms (for two singles) at the top of the hotel - comfortable and pleasant, though furnishings a little basic and outdated. Public rooms have a slightly faded grandeur but all the better for that - real sense of history. Breakfast room would have been a great place to eat but even better was the garden - a wonderful spot to start the day with breakfast or finish the day with a brandy - such a tranquil spot so close to St Peter's. Didn't eat in the restaurant (a bit on the pricy side) but food and menu looked super and is well recommended in the Guide Books. Breakfast was OK - lack of choice with cereals and fruit let is down a bit but more than adequate overall. Great location, charming hotel, fabulous garden and reasonably priced (at Rome prices) for what it has to offer - would recommend to anyone not bothered about fancy TVs, etc.

The hotel had the perfect location, tourist quarter at Day, night totally quiet. About 7 minutes to piazzas and 15 minutes to Real roman Italian quarter. Er had a perfect stay, in lovely and romantic souroundings. Ask for a Room out to the garden if you wish to wake up to bird song...

I would definetly recommend our room in this hotel if you happen to be in Rome for 1-2 nights and want to get acquainted with the main sites of the great city. The location of the hotel, old-fashioned furniture, beautiful public areas, marble staircase with old pictures on the walls - the feeling of history! We had a non-refundable booking with a discount - a room on the 4th floor with a small window looking at the St.Pietro Dome, brown tile on the floor, dark wooden furniture. Very unusual and interesting. Slight inconvenience of the room :1.one could hear what was happening in the next-door room and especially in their bathroom, 2.a very narrow shower cabin with only an "upper" shower in a rather spaceous bathroom. But this is nothing comparing to the great advantages of the hotel in general and of our rather inexpensive room. Do not hesitate!

Great location, we could see vatican from our window, great historical building from year 1500, amazing garden with fountain, amazing breakfast hall with beautiful fresco on the ceiling. If you like history, art, like to be close to the most amazing buildings and sites like castel sant'angelo and river of tevere, this is the hotel to chose. Staff are great people, I changed my hotel from a bad one near by to this great hotel and I am very happy I did that. Where can you have a room few hundred feet from Vatican? I highly recommend this Hotel To the staff: Thanks for everything, you guys are great.

The hotel was located within 100 metres of St Peters Square and central to our sightseeing needs. Our room overlooked the central courtyard and was a little noisy during the evening but the positives far ourweighed this. The staff were without exception extremely helpful andmade our stay memorable. I would certainly recommend this hotel to others

Everything was all right, except the breakfast was very poor. Location of the hotel is just perfect. We were offered welcome drink on the arrival day. very nice touch! Based on the welcome drink and on the thing we liked the restaurant, we wanted to have dinner there, but there was private event and the restaurant was closed. Hotel did not inform us about it in advance, otherwise we would change our programme.
