Hotel was in a lovely area, a bit out but still possible to walk to the centre (40 minutes). Good public transport connections and taxis. Location encouraged us to see more of a Rome than we would have if staying right in the centre. Great value for money. Recommended

This was a last minute booking and we did not have high expectations. We were very pleasantly surprised. The staff in particular were exceptionally helpful. AND they all speak English! I would recommend the Claridge to anyone, especially English speakers.

Excellent hotel, great neighbourhood for walking away from downtown. Close to Borghese gardens. Stylish rooms and dining area with modern flair. We liked the grocery across the street and the accessibility of public transit.

The hotel is located in a nice area in Rome, but a bit far from the main attractions. The rooms are nice, but we listen clearly what people in the corridors were talking.

For Rome the 'internet offer' price was reasonable--especially for a four star. The best thing about the hotel was the peaceful location, away from the dust and grime of most of Rome, yet still being pretty central. Walking through the Villa Borghese park into the center was a pleasure, and the tram stop outside the hotel takes you straight to the Vatican, amongst other standard destinations like Trastevere--very convenient. The staff were also friendly and helpful--I would stay at the Claridge again.

Pro's: Hotel is clean. Reception is very friendly and helpful. Rooms are quite generous by Rome overall standards. Air conditioning that actually works. Very well connected to Rome: 10 mins from the subway by tram or by bus, stop is 200 meters away. Underground garage, but you should advise and receive confirmation for a place, they have very limited space available. It is well into the high life district of Rome, close to the US and other countries embassies, a lot of decent dining places within walking distance, supermarket across the street. You won't be having any spectacular view from the rooms but as a guy that's traveled to Rome extensively I can assure u there are very few such places and they are hardly worth it. If u can get this place for around 100$/double/night it's a good value for the money otherwise at the desk rack rate of 250$ u should check out the Fortyseven Hotel. Con's: Breakfast is not something to write home about. I would call that ridiculous actually. Same thing every day in a very poor and limited selection and hardly any good quality stuff. But the worst and unforgivable part is coffee and fruit juice machines that produce the worst advertised liquid ever. I always stopped by a close by bar to have a coffee afterwards. It is about 15-20 miles away from both airports which is not a con by itself, everything in Rome is that far from the airports but a cab fare would set u back about 70 Eur's.

The hotel is modern, clean and peaceful, staff were very helpful and frienly.Breakfast very good. Only had one disturbed night - but that was due to the bridge club next door having a party - and their smoking terrace was outside our room! Bad luck, but overall stay was excellent and peaceful. Could be considered out of town by some, but was nice to get out of the noisy centre. Public transport beside hotel is perfect - eg.tram to vatican - 20mins, bus to trevi 10-15mins.

The hotel is excellent! We stayed here for 3 days in April and were quite surprised to find a real 4-star-accomodation for the price of only 99 EUR (twin-bed room per night). The rooms are clean and elegantly furnished. We had a very nice room with a balcony and a charming view down a bit of Piazza Ungeria, a pretty chapel and enormous pines of Villa Ada on the background. The staff at the reception was always very friendly. The hotel is however a little far from the city center, but there are a tram stop (trams to Trastevere), a bus stop (I've seen buses to San Pietro) and a taxi stop (to every destination you wish :-) ) in immediate proximity to the hotel (however we preferred to walk to the city center and back through the quiet and green Villa Borghese). Besides just across the road there are a supermarket and an ATM. The only real minus of the hotel that I managed to discover was poor coffee for breakfast (which is very untypical for Italy). However if you wish, you can get a cup of marvellous Italian coffee at any bar/caffee for only 1 EUR (if you don't sit down at the table of course). The rest of the breakfast in Claridge was fine: toasts, yoghurts, cakes, dried fruits, even some hot food (like sausages). On the whole I would highly recommend this hotel and would certainly stay here again (as it's the best hotel I've stayed in in Rome). Grazie mille, Claridge!!!

We were dissappointed with this hotel. The beds were very hard. Day 2 started at 5:00 am with a fire alarm, but no fire thankfully. No apology or accomodation was offered. Breakfast was very basic, nothing warm offered, the boiled eggs were overcooked and cold. Very poor coffee. Long distance from main attraction areas, although close to the Borghese museum. Front desk personnel were friendly. If you are looking for basic, its your place, it was fairly clean.

Overall our stay was fine. The hotel is convenient with the various types of public transport available in the area but is further away than I expected it to be. Very business-like hotel so it's ok if you're a road warrior, not if you're into lifestyle travel. Rooms are small but efficient. Breakfast is ok. Heating was a bit of a problem in the beginning but they managed to fix it.

The hotel was pretty nice but we got a very noisy (street + Laundry) room. The bathroom was very humid. One very positive point was the breakfast. Concerning the information that we got from the desk about visits or how to go to a certain place, they were not very competent in the sense that they gave us wrong informations! The area where the hotel is situated is very nice with good restaurants even if a bit difficult to reach from the center (metro + tram).

Very nice hotel, spacious rooms (something you do not expect in Rome), nice surroundings, great 15 minutes morning walk through Villa Borghese and Villa Medici to reach Piazza di Spagna! A very nice, comfortable and modern hotel to stay in. I was quite surprised about the size of the room and we even had a little balcony. There is a nice supermarket very close out near the front of the hotel for all your needs. And there is a convenient bus stop to hop on to get to Vatican City. In fact, the hotel provided its own little tour sheet of buses you can take nearby to get to the different local attractions. I'd definitely stay here again. The only drawback is that one of the days we stayed was on a Sunday and we discovered that many of the small businesses (supermarket, convenience stores, restaurants) in the area are closed.

The Claridge was a nice hotel which is away from the histroic centre but easily accessible either by bus or taxi. It is a convenient place to stay if you want to be away from the hustle and bustle of the city and wish to stay in more comfortable surroundings. The breakfast is basic and there is not a restaurant on site but are readily available in the immediate vicnity. The hotel is geared for a more business clientele but caters adequately for other occupants. Very cleand and comfortable and helpful staff.

This hotel was in an excellent location, close to the bus and tram lines. There is a nice supermarket across the road, useful for water (20c / litre versus Eur 3 / litre in shops). Best book a taxi to collect from airpost as getting one from airport is a joke. There is a possibility to share a taxi at Eur50 and that is what we took. Breakfast was cold buffet but fried eggs were done on request, so ask. They dont sell tram tickets or one day passes for the trams and busses so buy this from shops or metro station. They do sell single journey tickets however. Staff were very friendly and our stay was a pleasure. The room was good with a good sized extra bed.

Very beautiful hotel, room was so nice and bathroom was exquisite. The breakfast buffet was great. The front desk was helpful but sometimes had to wait too long so we just left without suggested direction, etc. - only because the staff was so busy. We were there the night the Pope passed away so TOTALLY understandable. Other than that, photos of sauna area would enhance their web page. And, the direction were good but it was our first time trying Rome's public transportation and we had a little difficulty finding the hotel. I admit that we should've paid for a cab. Nice walk though.

Grazie

Altogether a very satisfying experience. The staff are courteous and professional, and the hotel itself is a model of cleanliness and general presentation. My only reservation, and it is a very slight one, is that some traffic noise was audible from the main street - although this would of course apply to any centrally located hotel in a major city. In general I would recommend the Claridge to any visitor to Rome.

This was a lovely hotel and the rooms made our stay that little bit better. However, the hotel is quite removed from the main centre of Rome with the result that we lacked entertainment in the evenings and found it hard to find decent food in the evenings without having to take buses or taxis back into the hub of Rome. Apart from its location, everything else was good, and the staff strived to make our stay as enjoyable as possible.

This hotel is superlush. Very nice place. About 30 minutes walk from the centre of Rome, but if you don't mind taking in a stroll through the park then it's well worth it. Breakfast was great, the hotel is very slick. If you usually go for a cheap place and want something a bit more luxourious then I'd recommend this hotel. A nearby place called Barberini has some lovely restaurants and is nice to go in the evening too. It's not a far walk to Piazza di Spagna and the Trevi Fountain from there.

Fairly central location but very noisy at night. Bar shuts at 12pm, although we were not made to feel particularly welcome & in the end, asked if we could take drinks up to the room. Had a very unpleasant experience with the mini bottle of Jack Daniels in the mini bar - the bottle was actually urine and not alcohol at all... obviously, we complained to management, but have to say that their attitude was not sympathetic at all. I am currently in the progress of making a formal complaint to the hotel and would not recommend this accommodation

The hotel has a very modern design and style and the staff were very pleasant and helpful. The room was smaller than I expected, but very clean and well maintained. My only real complaint is that the beds are extremely hard and the pillows too thin. Besides that, one might want to note that, while the description says that the hotel is in an upscale residentail neighborhood (true), it is on a very bisy street with a tram that runs very early in the morning. Even with the soundproofing, the honking horns and train noise were somewhat bothersome.
