Only two complaints: the room lacked any visual interest and the matresses were very stiff (with my bad shoulder I couldn't sleep well). Otherwise, a very decent hotel in a great location.

Very good value for money; good size room, comfy beds, fine sized bathroom, big wardrobe with lots of hangers. Lots for breakfast; waiter happily made proper coffee for us as machine awful. Bar looked nice but never seemed to be open. Helpful man at desk. Hard to find initial direction when coming from Termini despite direction emailed from hotel but is very near. Had good meal on same street. Great shop on other side of opera house for take home treats.

Excellent hotel for price. Ideally located near metro with access to Spanish steps & Vatican, walking distance to train station & metro to colosseum. Service was excellent, front desk staff were delightful, pleasant & helpful. Breakfast included in price made the stay even better value for money. Wifi in common area only. Definetly recommend for value for money.

The people were, as usual, wonderful. However, the triple room we rented was very small with a fold-out bed that was extremely uncomfortable. This is the first time we have encountered this in the hotel as we have stayed there many times in the past. it was very disappointing.

Friendly staff. Pick up service from the airport really handy and a good value for money if you are 3+ people. Good location (walking distance to metro). Room space and breakfast selection pretty much along European-Italian *** standards. In term of night rates, a little bit on the upper side for this category of hotels. As usual in Italy, just a few hotels disclose that you'll have to pay 2 euro/night/person as a surcharge, usually in cash. It's not the 1st time/hotel I've seen this.

This hotel is well located. 5 minutes far away from the train station which is good (on foot). There's a big street near from the hotel (via Nazionale) with several restaurants and shops. The metro is at 5 minutes from the hotel too. Well to sum up, we spent 5 good days in the hotel. And we have to say that it is in a really quiet street for those who appreciate the calm.

Well located. Very clean bathroom. Our room had a balcony, which was very nice. Non-smoking room was very appreciated. If you arrive late for the breakfast, the choice will be very limited but otherwise it is good. Restaurant on the same street is very good with reasonable price.

A great reasonably priced hotel. Excellent location and staff were very helpful and friendly - couldn't fault them. On arrival our room had only a very small window high up in the wall and on request we were moved to another the next morning with no problem. I visited with 3 female friends for a short city break and we felt quite safe in the surrounding area. Plenty of shops and restaurants nearby as was the bus and metro station. The only downside was that there was no outside space however I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel and would stay there again if I ever make it back to Rome.

Location, staff and service were great. Breakfast was too modest, but yet sufficient to start your day. Free internet connection, but it was very weak and slow and ONLY available in the lobby downstairs. Room (504) was very small and no place to put the luggage.

There are not a terrace/balcony to every room. And our room was indeed very small. But the staff was very nice and helpful, and the hotel is situated in a quiet side street near Repubblica Metro station and busses. There are a small market nearby and a Carrefour round the corner.

Centro was perfect for last three nights of our vacation. We were tired and had accumulated a lot of baggage. The room was very spacious and allowed us to spread everything out. The bathroom is very large and the water pressure is excellent. Internet is free which was an unexpected bonus! Breakfast was fine and we could bring it to the room. The staff was helpful and accomodating. They assisted us with a shuttle to the airport even though we had already purchased train tickets! Our only complaint was that the a/c didn't seem to work properly. The staff looked at it immediately but it didn't seem to help much.

We were greeted by a pleasant gentleman and was very helpful with recommendations in the area. However, the room was not functioning properly. The shower drain was backed up and there was no maintenance in the evening. We had traveled for several hours and the thing we wanted most was to freshen up with a shower. There were no other rooms available and we had to check out the next morning (1030 am) to catch our train before they were able to fix the problem, so we never got our showers. The room was very small and looked like a college dorm room.

As usual rome hotels are overpriced and always below their star rating, however for the first time in Rome the front desk people had a smile on their face and were friendly. Not a common thing in Rome. The Room was OK, beds were very poor. Location excellent. depends what your in Rome to do, if its a sight seeing tour then you would be happy sleeping on a park bench i guess. Breakfast was poor for Italian standards.

The stay at Hotel Centro was great. We had a 4 person room & they had a King bed + 2 pull outs from couches. These beds were terribly uncomfortable however they hotel staff was kind enough to change and give us 2 cots which were much better. The breakfasts were great & the hotel staff in general was extremely kind & accommodating. The hotel is located in a good location- very close [5 min] to the train station and only about a 30 minute walk to the historical center of Rome [bus #40 runs that way and is only about a 10 minute ride]. Would definitely recommend!

The hotel took longer than 5 mins to get to. If you know where it is already, then you might do it in 5 mins. Our room was really nice! There was a bath too! The guy at reception was very nice and really helpful. He showed us a nice walk we could do to see some of the free sites of Rome (we arrived late and the pay stuff was all closing :( The place was very quiet, and breakfast was a continental buffet breakfast, which was much better than the usual croissant and coffee (though they were available, but with 3 kinds of croissant and 3 kinds of coffee!) We would definitely stay again! The price is a bit more than we can really afford, but definitely worth it!

This hotel is greatly situated, not much noise from the streets, all historical places are near, train station is just 5 minutes to walk. The only problem was breakfast, every day of our stay was some problem...Small amount of glasses, cups or plates etc and the last day when we came for breakfast, no bread was there and had to wait for it quite long :-(

VERY friendly, helpful and accommodating staff. Hotel is comfortable, nicely located on a quiet street. No 'bad' surprises. I enjoyed my stay and would stay again without hesitation. It is a very short walk to some sites and a Metro stop. Nice walk to most of the major attractions (take the Metro for Vatican City). Beds and pillows are comfortable. New bath with great water pressure and towel warmers. Included breakfast is basic but plentiful with a nice variety. Noise from loud children in hallways filtered into room, but no hotel can control for that. That's what parents are for!! The 'public use' computer is VERY slow... an updated one would be great. Wireless is available if you bring your own.

Only 10 minute walk from termini (get out at the right side!) which is the frontside. Quiet street. 15 Min walk towards the heart of the town. Some nice restaurants in the neighbourhood. Hotel Centro has a great location- a short walk from Termini Station and is on a quiet street right by the Rome Opera. Rooms could use a new coat of paint and the walls are not that sound-proof, but the facilities all worked well. I finally found the perfect, reasonably priced, centrally located, hotel in Rome. Hotel Centro is on a QUIET street right around the corner from the Republica metro stop and just a few blocks from Termini Station. The rooms were adequate in size, perfectly clean, and the bathroom was relatively spacious with no plumbing problems (a first in these old buildings!). Breakfast was continental style with frsh fruit, pastries, breads, meat, cereals, and you can ask for real esspreso/cappucino (though they have the instant machine for coffee, tea, hot choc). The staff were particularly helpful and exceptionally courteous (thanks Michele!). The reception is immaculate and there is even a tiny elevator if needed after a full day of walking Rome. This is where I will stay every time I visit Rome and recommend to my friends and family. The perfect balance of quality and budget!

This was our second stay at this hotel and we loved it as much the second time as the first. The hotel staff were welcoming, helpful and efficient. Hotel Centro is well located, close to metro station Repubblica and a 10 min walk to Termini rail station. Staff are efficient and very courteous. The Hotel Managers are to be commended for their kind and constant attention to our needs, especially during a serious medical situation that evenuated during our stay, which required us to stay at the hotel an extra week. A very sincere thank you to Centro Hotel Managers, Francesco and Michele for their excellent service. Our rooms were quiet and spacious, breakfast was plentiful, and the amenities included free internet and large lounge areas. Can highly recommend.

This was my third time in Rome and by far the best Hotel so far. It is in a prime location for exploring Rome. It is an easy 10 minute walk from the train station to the Hotel; as it is right next to the Opera House. The room was clean with nice Hardwood floors, nice tile bathroom with plenty of room in it; but overall the main room was a little tight for the 4 of us with our luggage. The gentleman at the front desk at night was very nice, and very helpful. He suggested a couple of restaurants near by that were reasonably priced and good food. There is a Metro stop 1 block away, along Via Nationale that has many shops and restaurants to choose from. I am learning that traveling with 2 in a room is a lot easer than traveling with 4 in a room. If I come back as a single or couple I will defiantly stay at the Centro again.

We felt the Hotel Centro was value for money, the staff were all very obliging the reception staff spoke good English. We had asked for a quiet room when booking and luckily that is what we got. The rooms were larger than we had expected with a comfortable bed and a small balcony with a table and chairs that we did use and enjoy. The breakfast was tolerable but the eggs were sadly very hard boiled. We would stay here again.

The Centro was a good choice. It was less than 5 minutes walk to Repubblica Metro Station. We also walked from the Centro to the Colloseum in 20 minutes. As it is in side road off Via Nazionale it was not too noisy. Staff were efficient and our room was clean and comfortable. We found plenty of good restaurants in and around via Nazionale. Breakfast was good with cereals, fresh croissants, cheese ham eggs. The only critisismm was that coffee was from a machine and sometimes there were not enough tables to accommodate guests so you had to wait for a table.

This was a real "find" and we would gladly stay again. Staff were very helpful: made arrangements to keep our baggage before the room was available, recommended good local restaurant, and Alberto was a huge help with directions out of Rome, generous with his time and map. The room was fine (though a previous occupant it seems had smoked in it) and the hotel pleasantly quiet for its central location. Lots of choice for breakfast. This hotel is okay. I was travelling in a group of three couples with a large age range. All of us felt that the hotel was decent based on location (very close to the train station and bus stops), but there was nothing special about it and the desk employees were only sort of helpful - they pushed the resaurants they had connections with and when asked about laundry they will only refer you to the VERY expensive service next door when there are tons of cheaper places close by. Rooms were spacious and clean - though there were many suitcase marks on the walls. Bathrooms were spotless with a heated towel rack (a nice bonus). The bar in the hotel was nice, the breakfast service was okay. Given the price and the location it's an okay choice, but I'd be interested to see what other hotels in the area are like.

I was very pleased with the Hotel Centro. The room was comfortable and clean, including the bathroom. Both concierges (day and night) were extremely polite and helpful. The breakfast room was large with a decent array of foods to select from. The attendant in the breakfast room made delicious coffee as requested. The location (side street off Natzionale) was quiet and convenient. My friend (both of us are mature women) and I used the local buses, the local train and even walked with our large suitcases to the nearby train station-- all were very close.

Excellent situation. Helpful staff who were friendly and really got to know us. Plentiful breakfast and always replenished. Clean, comfortable room with good en-suite. Convenient for all transport systems and in a good position for getting around the city. Pleasant restaurants nearby. Would certainly use again.

We were a family of 4 (2 adult children) and had a quad room -- one queen bed, two twins. It was quite nice and we even had a roof-top terrace. Small refrigerator was helpful. Very close to the Metro stop so we used it when we wanted to go farther afield such as to the catacombs. We walked to most everything though. Be aware that some Metro stations close at 11:30 p.m. and if you're trying to return late at night as we did from the Spanish Steps, you'll be walking as we did! Not that bad though. Breakfast was very good - have them make your expresso instead of using the coffee machine. Hot chocolate out of the machine is good. Great hotel!

Contrary to other reviews, our room with 2 single beds was spacious (it may have been used for a triple sometimes, in which case it would have been just adequate. The bathroom was a perfectly adequate size and very nicely done--everything like new. We had a balcony and a wardrobe, nice windows. It was a tad warm even though we had the heat off and it was cold outside, enough for me to open the window at times. It could be heat rising through the building to the upper floors which I speculate might be a problem in the summer. The neighborhood was great with lots of restaurants and very close to Metro and bus line. The hotel is half a block down a quiet side street though, so you don't have to listen to the traffic on the major street. Staff were very friendly and the breakfast was adequate, though of budget quality. There was not computer available, although they may have laptop connection. It is quite a small hotel, but every was done very competently.

This was our first stay at Hotel Centro. Would not hesitate to go there again. Absolutely a nice location for seeing Rome.

A bit grumpy personnell but the hotel itself was very good. We were two adults and two children from Sweden and got one of the the top floor rooms with our own terrace! The hotel is perfectly situated in the midst of Rome to be a starting point for walks to all the famous points of interrest. I give the hotel my thumbs up. PS. Ask for a hand made Cappucino during breakfast instead of using the automatic machine...

Excellent value for money. Good location, breakfast as good as most and better than many. Nothing to do with the hotel, but beware of the airport taxi driver scam of claiming you gave them a 10 euro note instead of a 50 (after switching it). We got caught on the way in, but managed to spot the same driver on leaving and tackled him - he gave us our money back rather than be reported to the police, and this was an official taxi!

General satisfaction with hotel, even if room was rather small. Staff kind and helpfull.Breakfast OK,but we would prefer real juice instead of lemonade. Hotel location excellent, quiet, but also close to transport and monuments.

Conveniently located near central station Roma Termini (walking distance 15-20 min). Helpful front desk staff. Needs a little decoration overhauling. Breakfast could be better for the stars (coffee not from espresso machine, but from automatic type, not much variety, noisy breakfast buffet personnel).

Fairly close to Rome Termini station. Rooms are basic and not particularly modern. Bathroom was small. Breakfast was forgettable.

Family of five (parents and three daughters) staying in two rooms. We liked the hotel. The rooms were very spacious for Italy and cost was good for Rome (bathrooms in particular, were very large for an Italian hotel). Location was great. Near the Termini station and all major sites in Rome, which were easily reachable by buses and Metro. Area was nice and we felt safe. It is near the Opera House. Staff was helpful.

The hotel was adequate for my needs. Room size was adequate, with bed taking up most of the room. But very good bathroom compared to other properties in Rome. Street is relatively quiet compared to others. I can recommend this hotel.

Centro is located in a reasonably well place. Termini train station is just about 7 minuted walk from the hotel. Other tourist attractions like Trevi fountain are also in walkable distance. The staff were also cordial. On the cons side, I had got 2 separate mattresses on a double bed. That was bit inconvenient. Phone in the room was not working. They had a spare one in the bathroom too and it worked. Room was not very specious. Overall we liked it for the price we payed for this.

The staff are very kind, but room is not enough to me and my friends. There're something missing in that, for example, some kind of bath stuff.
