Our stay at the Hotel Cecil was excellent. We arrived at Rome airport at 7 am (From Los Angeles). Hotel arranged driver, prompt and polite. We arrived early at hotel, hotel stored our large suitcases, we immediately walked to sites. Quite, clean room, Facing court yard, renovated newer bathroom. Nice breakfasts, great location, for walking thru Rome. Same driver drove us to port city for our cruise terminal on our departure day.

International clientele - couples or families with adults in their 40s or older also a good hotel for business travellers. I was with my mother and sister and we were delighted with our stay, warm reception of front desk staff, good service and our bigger room with patio was a bonus!

The location in the city is great, very close to all interesting spots. Despite, it is not as noisy as expected (maybe due to the cool weather?).

A friend recommended this hotel after visiting it in March, 2012. Her biggest selling points on it were location and the staff. She was absolutely right! The staff was FANTASTIC! Before we even arrived, Adele was able to help us secure transportation from the airport to the hotel that was waiting for us as soon as we exited the customs area. The front desk quickly checked us in and were able to provide us all the information about the area and the city in general that we could possibly hope for. They were even able to secure us transportation to the nearby port to meet the rest of our touring group. The staff made the beginning of our 2 week trip as easy and enjoyable as we could have hoped for. We would definitely recommmend this hotel to others!

Rome is a very expensive city and the Hotel Cecil provided good value for the price we paid. The hotel is well situated, close to the Spanish Steps and Trevi Fountain, and within walking distance of the main Roman sites. It's a longer, though very interesting, walk to St Peter's and the Vatican, but it's also easy enough to reach these by bus or metro. The hotel is very well presented, with a large and well-decorated reception area. The reception staff were very well presented and professional. We were offered the choice of two rooms, both of which were spacious, and chose the one at the back of the hotel, overlooking a small courtyard. Although the hotel is not situated on a main road, having a room at the back was very quiet. The room and bathroom were well equipped. The breakfast was good. Our only negative comment was the cleanliness of the stairs: perhaps guests are expected always to use the lift! However, this is only a minor point: we would certainly use this hotel again.

the hotel is very well located but the stairs were really dirty and the cleaning was poorly done on the 3rd level.

If you need it, ask for it. That's the service we got. They have an excellent service on taxis, compare with the all the other taxis in Rome.

Staff was great. The rooms looked nothing like the photos, and that was even after we demanded and received an upgrade from the first room they tried to give us. Nice foyer, great staff, amazing location, very very poor quality rooms.

Excellent location in the historic district. Located VERY close to the trevi fountain and Spanish Steps; also, located within a very comforatble walking distance to all the major sites of the Rome Historic district. Staff was very helpful and cheerful and I would receommend this hotel for a european 3 star hotal experience.

The location is great, close to Spanish steps and only 10 minute walk to Trevi Fountain. Easy access to city buses. Staff was very friendly. Rooms were clean but the bed made so much noise when you made the slightest movement room 410. Free wifi in the lobby. Breakfast was very basic, yogurt, toast, croissants. Overall a good stay.

Hotel Cecil is a nice, friendly place within walking distance to many of Rome’s top attractions. A place to enjoy with an extremely helpful staff. A hotel easy to recommend. Amasingly quiet beeing in the city center close to the communications. And there is even a little roof garden to enjoy the city view and a refreshment. No wonder the great poet Henrik Ibsen found his inspiration in this building.

The hotel has an excellent location near to the city center. The room where very quiet. We stayed at room 410 for four nights. The bed was terrible noicy, evry move caused a squeec. There was no proper chair to sit in, and the shower was hardly usable. ( too hot or too cold) The quality of the beakfast was poor, with no real fresh bread and lack of ham or salamie. There was two types of melted chees, sweet croisants, sweet jam and honey. No fresh fruit was offered. However we could enjoy a cold, boiled egg. For the price one pay in hotel Cecil, I would expect everything to be at least ok.

We spent 4 nights at the Cecil hotel, the location was excellent, so near the Spanish steps and the clothes shopping streets. Very convenient for walking to the Trevi Fountain and the Vatican.

Very nice and professional welcome, and real good indications for the visit, restaurants and the town (very good private cab service to the airport) Rooms are not at all like the pictures on internet. The rooms are dark and the curtains very old and not maintained. The terrace is only open between 8:00 and 20:00 and there is a very basic service to it (no breakfast except if you bring it yourself) and it is a pity because the view is really nice.

This hotel is very well placed..only 5 mins walk to Spanish Steps, and a comfortable 15 mins walk to the Pantheon and Piazza Navona. The accommodation itself leaves much to be desired. The rooms, whilst spacious, are bare and tatty. The bathroom needed a more thorough clean before our arrival. Whilst not expecting luxury for the money we paid in the middle of June, I really thought this place lacked value. I would not recommend to fellow travelers.

First room was disgusting, but the staff provided another room in another building. Tis was OK but not very clean (don't even think about looking under the bed). Something was growing on the shower curtain. Room was made once in four days and then we were not supplied with sufficient new towels. The breakfast was undelicious - bread or croissants in plastic - not fresh, with best-before-date two months ahead.

really impressed with location and the efficiency of the lady at the front desk. She obviously runs a tight ship but it pays off as the level of professionalism among the staff was excellent. They could not do enough for you.The rooms were clean and more than adequate for the location being in the middle of rome! Very quiet. Shower was even ok which is unusual when travelling!

It is a great location at an affordable price (in Rome in that area). The staff was cordial and helpful in obtaining taxis for us and giving us directions. My only suggestion is that the Hotel Cecil manager see that the lovely patio on top of the hotel is cleaned a little better. That would be the only advice that I have.

The hotel is conveniently located and has a relatively nice rooftop terrace. However the prices quoted are twice too high given the quality of the facilities; old-ish and smallish rooms, cupboards whose doors do not shut properly, tiny and cumbersome bathroom, noisy corridors, etc... Breakfast is below average.
