Hotel Caravel - Rome

We were somewhat shocked to find that the hotel was located outside the city walls, however it was no problem at all. The bus #714 took us directly to and from the main train station making travel in the city very convenient. Moreover the staff was absolutely wonderful. They were very helpful. The only criticism I have is the the breakfast was not the greated...especially the coffee. I'd advise you to stick with the tea.

The rooms are in an old style but clean and comfortable. TV, Safe, fridge and airconditioner are included in the price. The breakfast buffet is really great and the service is friendly and helpful! The hotel is not far away from the trainstation (approx.2km) and you can take the bus. But there is no timetable for the bus that means sometimes you can wait longer for a bus (its all around the city like that)

The internet wasn't a very good connection for what you pay, but the rooms are clean, the breakfast is good and it's close to the metro and bus stops. I'd stay here again!

The emlployees were not really friendly and helpful, every information even basic information about check in, breakfast, check out had to ask, without asking no information had been given. Some maintenance work was in progress every morning from 8-9 am, and we could easily hear other guests talking in the middle of the night even from the other room, also the airconditioner is loud once is switched on, could be because it is very old, so I have to say the hotel is quite noisy for someone who planning to have a rest there. The hotel was clean, and tidy and very spacious, breakfast ok,for the price the quality was just ok, but quite far from the centre, luckily had two direct bus lines to the centre. I reccomend the hotel for families, or people who are not first time visitors in Rome, because the staff is not welcoming and helpful.

They were not very wellcoming. Nearly apart and closed! Maybe they did not know english and were shy. The room was clean and nice cloth c. Only breakfast att the hotel.

Tutto è come descritto sul sito, l'hotel è situato vicino alle fermate del autobus, dunque è facile arrivare in centro in pochi minuti lasciando la macchina al parcheggio. La colazione e abbondante e varia. Le stanze sono silenziose e sono consigliabili per famiglie con bambini. Il rapporto qualità prezzo è ottimo.

The hotel was a nice, basic place. however, for the price i expected a few more amenities and a larger choice at the breakfast buffet.

The bathroom is little, a bit uncomfortable. The breakfast is good. The staff in the check in must be more friendly.

I spended there just one day and everything was ok!if i'll go again in rome im going to book my room in the caravel again!

I did enjoy staying in the hotel. The only thing that was really annoying is the neighborhood and smell of cigarettes. Some neighbors ( could not understand which ones) where shouting and moving furniture starting from 2am till 7am. That was the only thing that spoiled our staying in this hotel.

Hotel Caravel is very dirty and employees are not enought kind with hosts. The noise in the hotel let me sleep in a very bad way. All the Hotel seems old and in need of a complete restructure.

La struttura è molto vecchia e necessita di diversi ammodernamenti, soprattutto se pretende di essere un vero 4 stelle. Al banco della reception non c'è mai nessuno, sempre tutti impegnati fuori a fumare. La colazione è di qualità bassa.

I booked 2 days initially, then tried to cancel the second night well before the cancellation cutoff time. the website indicated that i needed to contact the hotel directly to cancel the second night, however, when i did this, the staff didn't know how to do the cancellation. when we showed up, the staff was very unhelpful with regards to the cancellation, saying it had to be done online. we ended up paying for 2 nights, but only staying for one. i would like a refund for the second night.

The Hotel we would describe as functional. The staff were not realy approachable and at times seemed irritated by your questions. We were disgusted at the porn available on the TV in the rooms which our young son discovered and was very unsettled about. The bathroom toilets backed up in the morning which made the room smell of urine, this also kept you awake at night. The hotel is some way out of the city centre with infrequent buses. The breakfast was poor. Would not recommend for families.

Albergo marcatamente anni 70 un po caro rispetto alla qualità del servizio offerto (nel frigobar abbaimo trovato le bottiglie già aperte e vuote per la metà). non credo di tornare in questa struttura

The hotel was manned by friendly staff who were helpful. The bar area was clean and the bar manager was lovely. Although the rooms are basic there was still a tv, hairdryer (not that powerful girls) and a mini bar. The location is a little bit out the way however there is a direct bus route to and from the Termin (714) costs you at the most 1 euro! Only down side to my stay was the taxi ordered, through the hotel, to take me to the airport. They dropped us at the wrong one and drove off!! This happened to 2 other groups of our friends so BEWARE!!!

Buon rapporto qualità prezzo, camere molto spaziose, lato strada rumoroso, lato interno molto più tranquillo. Colazione un pò scarsa ma nel complesso un buon hotel.

Con piccoli accorgimenti potrebbero ottenersi risultati eccellenti per la classe di albergo di cui trattasi. Personale molto disponibile.

It's so good and the hotel man is nice guys. I happy to enjoy in there.

This was not as nice as the pictures, it was much older and not very appealing

Great rooms and breakfast. Very rude staff. Be prepared to take public transportation to get to the heart of Rome...20 minute bus ride from everything, and usually have to wait about 15 minutes for bus to come.

Everything was as expected, corresponding to the web pages. The Price/Quality-ratio is excellent.

Although this hotel was not too close to the main sections of rome, we enjoyed our stay here best. the staff was quite helpful and the room was very nice. i would definitely recommend this hotel to others visiting the city.
